- "You know they commissioned an enormous statue of the Emperor for Senate—I mean, Imperial Plaza? So far, though, the thing looks more terrifying than majestic."
- ―Nils Tenant
The Imperial Plaza was a large public space that surrounded the Senate Building on Coruscant. Before the rise of Sheev Palpatine from Supreme Chancellor of the Galactic Republic to ruler of the Galactic Empire, that open area was called the Senate Plaza or the Republic Plaza. Five years after the foundation of the Empire, there were plans to erect a huge statue of Palpatine on the Imperial Plaza.[1]
