Purrgil were a space-faring whale-like species.

Whales were a type of creature that existed in various locations across the galaxy; which included the Cartusion whale,^[1] the ruhau-whale,^[2] and the oceanic starwhale species.^[3] The cyborg creatures that formed the whale-ships,^[4] and the space-faring purrgil were also considered whale-like species.^[5] Additionally, the aiwhas—non-sentient species^[6] of winged cetaceans native to the planet Kamino^[7]—were also called "air whales."^[8]
