Wampas in TCW Comic

Hey Toprawa. There are some wampas that make an appearance in Frozen Out!, the comic from Star Wars: The Clone Wars Comic UK 6.34. The comic should be on Kaskus, but let me know if you have trouble accessing it. Hope that helps. CC7567 (talk) 03:41, June 7, 2012 (UTC)

Executor-like ships in Emperor's fleet.

Look, I know this was discussed three years ago, but I really need to bring this up:

You had a Star Destroyer article, Star Destroyer (Emperor's Fleet), deleted around 2009. Your reasoning was that it was just a design variation of the Imperial-class Star Destroyer.

Before I get started, I'd like to agree in regards to not creating articles on ships based on minor variances of other ships since they are redundant.

That being said, I disagree with your argument about it being deleted, because the ship in question was not simply a "minor" variant of the Imperial-class Star Destroyers. "minor variants" of ships would be like the Eclipse I and Eclipse II within the Eclipse-class Star Dreadnought or heck, the Conqueror with any Star Destroyer in the Imperial-class (ie, while definitely possessing differences, the overall design is still the same as the class in question). The Star Destroyers seen among the Imperial Fleet in the comic version of Star Wars: The Force Unleashed did not bare any resemblance to the Imperial-class Star Destroyers at all, so it is not simply a "minor variant" as you put it. For one thing, the hull shape is completely different from the Imperial-class Star Destroyer. It actually looked closer to the Executor-class Star Dreadnought or even the Assertor-class Star Dreadnought, and I'm not even talking about the exposed parts as much as the blatant overall shape of the hull. I'd forgive the exposed parts as long as they at least had the hull in the right shape.

Regarding the fact that the game had it be Imperial-class Star Destroyers, the game also had various levels that were exclusive to each version of the game, and plus, the Death Star portion of the story was also significantly different for each version, yet you guys were capable of integrating these things seamlessly into the Battle on Death Star I, and then acknowledging the differences in the behind the scenes section. I don't see how we can't do something similar with the article.

I also read that TC thread that you started in the Trash Compactor as well, and noticed your referece to Darth Vader's armor in there. I just recently saw some of the Vader pics from the comic, and I can't say it looks that much different from the films or any of his other appearances. Either way, the armor is a bad example because the armor can't be taken off without risk of killing him, and besides which, the armor still bears some overall resemblance to the other incarnations of Darth Vader, whereas the Star Destroyers in that pic bore absolutely no resemblance whatsoever to an Imperial-class Star Destroyer.

I would have done it on the TC thread, but I suspect that I can't do so thanks to it being a closed issue, so I'm bringing it to your attention on your talk page. I'm not the original author of the first attempt BTW (although I did attempt the articles of three unidentified ones), but I do think that the article should be made, as they don't resemble an Imperial-class Star Destroyer at all. I also brought up the topic on the Emperor's fleet article. Weedle McHairybug 01:44, June 16, 2012 (UTC)

  • Uh, tl;dr. What are you even talking about? Links would go a long way here. Toprawa and Ralltiir 01:46, June 16, 2012 (UTC)

Addition to the Ahsoka Tano page

Hi,

I'd just like to bring to your attention a little piece of trivia that might be nice for other people to know and was curious as to if you could add it to the Ahsoka page as the site isn't allowing me to do so.

The trivia is this:

Ahsoka currently holds the record for most decapitations in a single pass beating out famed Jason Voorhes of the the "Friday the 13th" series.

Sincerely,

Infinite Freedom

ANH Radio Drama Script

Hello Tope, given that you have worked on A New Hope characters (Davin Felth immediately comes to my mind), would you have Star Wars: The National Public Radio Dramatization? I am looking for anything relevant to TK-875 and TK-119. The radio drama itself just has Luke and Leia exchange some lines about that group of troopers, and an exchange of laser fire is heard. Userbox pic

I am trying to upload a picture of myself to use in my user info box but it will not let me upload it. The picture does belong to me, it contains no offensive materials. I just want to upload it. I keep getting error messages. Can you help me? Matt Seay (talk) 02:37, August 13, 2012 (UTC)

  • It's likely you're not filling in the Source field, which I believe is a requirement. Just put anything in there. Toprawa and Ralltiir (talk) 02:39, August 13, 2012 (UTC)
    • I have been, i can not figure out why I can not upload any picture at all. I just want to upload this one then I can just move on to my next thing on my list. Matt Seay (talk) 02:40, August 13, 2012 (UTC)
      • I really don't know what you're doing wrong without literally seeing what you're doing. The upload form is rather extensive and touchy in nature. I might suggest going down to the bottom of the page when you get the error message and there may be a notice allowing you to "go ahead and upload anyway" or something along those lines. Toprawa and Ralltiir (talk) 02:42, August 13, 2012 (UTC)
        • I filled out the form and this is the message I get... <This action has been automatically identified as harmful, and therefore disallowed. If you believe your edit was constructive, please inform an administrator of what you were trying to do. A brief description of the abuse rule which your action matched is: Combined unverified user upload prevention
          > what does this mean? I don't think a picture of me holding a lightsaber is harmful do you? Matt Seay (talk) 02:46, August 13, 2012 (UTC)
          • The content of the image you're trying to upload is irrelevant and is not what is causing your trouble. I believe the issue is that you do not have a confirmed e-mail address set up with Wikia, which is required to upload images. This is a safeguard put in place to prevent upload abuse. You need to go into your user preferences and set up and confirm an e-mail address. Toprawa and Ralltiir (talk) 02:51, August 13, 2012 (UTC)
            • Okay Thanks, I thought it was blocking my image for some other strange reason, I will go to me settings and see about my E-Mail. Matt Seay (talk) 02:54, August 13, 2012 (UTC)

Orphans

Hello. I understand why you reverted my edit in the article Star Wars: Shadows of the Empire (trading cards), it's just that I've been working with the "Orphan children" and the article Boa constrictor doesn't fit anywhere besides in its source. Do you know of any place else where I can link it? Winterz (talk) 19:26, August 17, 2012 (UTC)

  • No problem, I figured that's what you were trying to do. You could probably get away with just sticking it into the Snake disambiguation page. Toprawa and Ralltiir (talk) 19:36, August 17, 2012 (UTC)
    • Well even though it carries the real-life snake "Boa"'s name, the article doesn't say about presenting any resemblance to it or even that it is a snake...wouldn't it be speculating? :P Did it anyway. Winterz (talk) 20:20, August 17, 2012 (UTC)

Soft redirects

Hello. For some reason I have no edit access in two soft redirects and couldn't place the speedy delete template so basically I'm here to request, if it's no bother, to place the {{ delete|Correct redirect is Living in these Star Wars }} tag for the reason there explained, in the article Living in these Star Warz, or maybe do the act yourself (also it's better to remove the tag from here thereafter to avoid confusions). Thanks for your time. Winterz (talk) 02:22, August 27, 2012 (UTC)

  • The two pages in question are fully protected from editing specifically to prevent you from doing what you're trying to do, per community consensus. Toprawa and Ralltiir (talk) 02:38, August 27, 2012 (UTC)
    • Well okay but all that I've been indicating are but incorrect copies redirecting to the exact same place than the correct redirect, or directing it to empty places, having no place in the Fan Wiki either, unless they approve clone articles. Also what I wanted to nominate for deletion was Living in these Star Warz, please change. Thanks for the heads-up. I'm an idiot and didn't notice it was an archive discussion. Forget it, although there's still the orphan pages and the fact that some are just duplicates. Winterz (talk) 03:02, August 27, 2012 (UTC)
      • I think those soft redirects need to stay orphan pages, since we agreed to delete them. What duplicates exist? Toprawa and Ralltiir (talk) 03:09, August 27, 2012 (UTC)
        • Well I'm not sure I can call them that word, but most I mentioned were clone redirects of already-existing redirects. The Living in these Star Warz and Living in these Star Wars both redirect to 'Living in these Star Wars'. And some others. If I'm correct about these being considered duplicates, I'll mention th rest here. Winterz (talk) 03:20, August 27, 2012 (UTC)
          • I intentionally retained "Living in these Star Wars" as a soft redirect, since it's likely to be an extremely common misspelling. Toprawa and Ralltiir (talk) 03:28, August 27, 2012 (UTC)

Ganks but no Ganks

Hey, Tope. As you know, the article Gank is up for AC review: Wookieepedia:AC/Gank (third review). I've given it some TLC, and the expansion has brought the article well above the 1,000 words needed for FAN. Thus, I'd like to nominate it for FA status. However, I'm not sure if this is a violation of either AC or INQ procedures, since the article is still under active AC review. Do you have any insight into this? Should I just go ahead and nominate it, or would it be wiser to wait until the AC review concludes? I'm fine with either approach, but figured I'd get clarification from an AC/INQ member first. Thanks for any help! ~SavageBOB sig 12:17, August 30, 2012 (UTC)

  • Sure, feel free to go ahead and nominate it. What happens, technically, is that we'll reevaluate the article at the next meeting, determine that it has satisfactorily addressed the issues for which it was probed thus and maintain its GA status until it theoretically passes Inq review and becomes an FA. Thanks. Toprawa and Ralltiir (talk) 16:41, August 30, 2012 (UTC)
    • Cool, thanks. It's been nominated! ~SavageBOB sig 23:16, August 30, 2012 (UTC)

Rikkar-Du

Hey Tope; I've done a run through of Rikkar-Du. Articles for clans, Tassa's father, etc have been done, and I fixed a few errors and assumptions not present in the issue. Can you give it a once over in regards to linking since we both know I'm a chronic under-linker :P - Cavalier OneFarStar(Squadron channel) 10:51, October 24, 2012 (UTC)

Just double checked; should be clan's, not clans' so I've changed that. As for the dash usage - I'm never sure, to be honest. Its formatted that way in the original source, so that's how I record it, but I'm not going to object to changing it. - Cavalier OneFarStar(Squadron channel) 16:19, October 24, 2012 (UTC)

Species template

Hey, Tope, I didn't think edit to the {{Species}} infobox was anything that needed a TC to do. No one seemed to be objecting to changes to the species template in the recently closed TC, at any rate. But I didn't want to revert your change to it without getting your opinion first. If necessary, I'll start a CT to add the subspecies field. Thanks, ~SavageBOB sig 10:52, October 30, 2012 (UTC)

  • Well, wasn't that basically the whole point of that CT? To get community approval for the inclusion of a subspecies field? No consensus was achieved, and I got the distinct impression in general that many didn't feel a new field was necessary to begin with, so going ahead and just inserting a new field anyway after this CT effectively failed seems rather inappropriate to me. I would suggest starting another CT to add the subspecies field as you say. Toprawa and Ralltiir (talk) 19:12, October 30, 2012 (UTC)
    • Well, actually the CT was specifically about character articles and the "Appearances" section of species articles, not the {{Species}} template. That's why I didn't think that change was particularly controversial, any more than adding "mass" to it a few months ago was. ~SavageBOB sig 01:47, October 31, 2012 (UTC)
      • My mistake. I overlooked that the CT was about character infoboxes when closing it, rather than the species infobox. If you want to re-add that, then, feel free. Toprawa and Ralltiir (talk) 01:52, October 31, 2012 (UTC)
        • No problem. I've restored it for now, since Eyrezer had gone ahead and changed a bunch of affected alien articles to reflect it. I plan to revisit the CT on the characters soon (advocating for the new infobox field exclusively, since the vote was so split between the various options), and I'll include an item about this too just to be fully transparent. (At any rate, I've heard that Star Wars: Episode 7 is going to be subtitled Attack of the Subspecies.) ~SavageBOB sig 10:32, October 31, 2012 (UTC)

I have created a new template that could be used for the talk pages of the new Star Wars movies. I saw how the talk pages have already been deleted a couple of times so I just slapped this together real quick.

WE DON'T KNOW ANYTHING ABOUT THE NEW STAR WARS MOVIES YET SO PLEASE STOP ASKING.

We only know as much as you do about the new Star Wars films to be released. And we don't know anything. This is a talk page that is for discussing edits on the main page. Anyone who posts a question asking about the movie will be blocked.

My WOTM claims

Argh Toprawa, I didn't mean forging info and introducing it in the article, I just pointed out that he added several 'objects' without throughout verification and by that I mean incorrect additions of {{1st}} and {{Image}} templates, which were obviously not verified beforehand. I'm sorry if I wasn't too explicit and was misunderstood. I guess my words did sound kind of harsh but its nothing like that. I accept whatever punishment you might want to apply on me due to this misunderstanding, just understand that I was merely pointing out Revan's simple and mostly innocent flaws (or so I think). Still, I thought they could be relevant to the matter at hand. Winterz (talk) 02:48, November 2, 2012 (UTC)

I did that so that I could list the entries that Vocatara appeared in. The problem was that I forgot to include a separator for one of the fields and none of the entries were shown. GA queue cleanup, round 2

If you're bored and looking for something to do, or know an AC member who is, the first 146 (!) articles on Wookieepedia:Good article queue need to be moved to Wookieepedia:Good articles/History and added to Wookieepedia:Good articles/Random. There are articles that have been sitting there since early August that have never been added to the randomizer. The longer you put it off, the more work it will be. :P —MJ— War Room 04:27, December 31, 2012 (UTC)

That certain matter

Hey tope, you mentioned something about a negative attitude I had early here on the Wookieepedia and that I was able to turn it around. If my guess is correct and you're talking about those certain words I wrote in DarthRevan's WOTM nomination 2 months back, I just wanted to say that I've never had any hostile action towards anyone here and I've kept myself always "clean" of conflicts or any confusions and you may note that my record is clean of any offensive or negative attitude I may have had towards another user. Yes, I understand I was being too frontal back then but that was my opinion and it didn't mean that I disliked DarthRevan, it just meant that I didn't approve of his nomination by then, but a side from that, even before those words, me and DarthRevan had several peaceful, harmless and cooperative actions towards one another. I understand that you may have confused me for trying to flame DarthRevan with those words, and even I came to regret what I said about him then, but regardless, they were still mostly non-offensive words and I was not seeking any conflict nor did I expect anyone to take it as negatively. Just wanted to clear that up, and also, congrats on the new shiny spot. ;) Winterz (talk) 02:58, January 12, 2013 (UTC)

  • No explanation needed. :) As I said in my WOTM comment, any negative opinion I may have had of you has been totally reformed by your positive behavior since then. I even told Revan how impressed I am with you. So keep up the good work. :) Toprawa and Ralltiir (talk) 03:01, January 12, 2013 (UTC)

Question

Hi Toprawa and Ralltiir, I have a question : why did you removed the picture I posted in the page of Vima Sunrider ? Maguinic (talk) 18:29, January 22, 2013 (UTC)

  • I reverted your image additions because they don't fit into the article. Images should typically alternate alignment left to right within the article, according to site policy. If you find you're cramming images into an article like sardines in a can with no more room to alternate alignment, then that's usually a sign that the article doesn't have room to support any more images. We usually have a surplus of great images for major article topics, and it's unfortunate that we can't fit in every one. We just have to be discerning and try to pick what best illustrates each article. Toprawa and Ralltiir (talk) 18:42, January 22, 2013 (UTC)
    • Ok, but it is a pity, the Wiki could have a superb collection of beautiful images... And if I try to match the images with paragraphs and if the article is not saturated with images, do you will remove them ? In any case, thank you for your answer. Maguinic (talk) 20:21, January 22, 2013 (UTC)
      • You're welcome to try and work them in as best you can, just make sure that they alternate whenever possible and are sized in good proportion to the size of whatever section they are in. As long as it looks ok, I have no problem. :) Toprawa and Ralltiir (talk) 20:24, January 22, 2013 (UTC)
        • Okay! Thank you for these informations, I will try to repect that. ;) Maguinic (talk) 14:56, January 23, 2013 (UTC)

Indirect mention tags

Hi Toprawa, I have a question about using {{Imo}} tags that are mostly used in Events section. My impression was we're using these tags when something resembles some event happened before or aren't mention or appear as name of the article. To avoid confusion I put quotation marks (not completely word by word) after name of the article. I'm kinda confused why you revert my edit in Dark Tide duology even when I used Imo tag for the same event how is named in the novels (like I said not completely word by word). I'd be happy if you can clear for me when and in what circumstances is appropriate to use Imo tag to avoid each other reverting. Thank you. --Jedi Marty (talk) 20:07, January 22, 2013 (UTC)

  • Firstly, thank you for approaching me with this civilly. It is not my wish to perpetuate an edit war with you either. I don't think there's anything wrong with your use of the Imo tag. I believe you are using them correctly. My issue lies with literal, formal titles for battles. I am currently working on the Seizure of Coruscant article and am trying to track down all of that battle's formal titles. As you will see, I have currently found three. It's important to distinguish what constitutes a "formal title" and what does not. If this book, for example, refers to this battle as "Coruscant's liberation," it would not be appropriate for us to take it upon ourselves to turn that into "Liberation of Coruscant" and treat that as a formal title, since the book never literally uses that name. We should only present names according to exactly how a source describes it. Hope that helps. Toprawa and Ralltiir (talk) 20:14, January 22, 2013 (UTC)
    • Thank you for your answer and example. I checked your edits on the DT duology and agree how you revert my edit. So if I'm in doubt or in complicated description in novel or other sources for already named article I'm gonna use name of the article without adding quotation marks, but using Imo tag only. --Jedi Marty (talk) 20:40, January 22, 2013 (UTC)

Seizure of Coruscant

Hey Tope, liking the work you're doing with Seizure of Coruscant, just wondering whether [[Second Mission to Coruscant (Galactic Civil War)]] should be merged with it also? Rokkur Shen (talk) 23:26, January 22, 2013 (UTC)

  • Thank you. I don't remember all of that subject matter perfectly, but it seems to me like it's all part of the overall capturing of Coruscant. I think it could legitimately be merged into the Seizure article, yeah. Toprawa and Ralltiir (talk) 23:47, January 22, 2013 (UTC)

Image upload problem

Hi there, Tope! I've encountered a problem uploading images. Menk asked me here to add a cropped version of this pic into the article, I got it cropped but for some reason Wookiee doesn't allow me to upload it. I've been able to add pictures before, I got more than enough edits and my e-mail was confirmed years ago, but still it keeps telling me I'm not allowed to add it. Can you help?--Dionne Jinn (Something to say?) 22:42, January 24, 2013 (UTC)

  • Hey, Dionne. I'm not exactly sure, to be honest. Our upload form can be very sensitive sometimes. If you're uploading an identical image, sometimes it triggers a safety net because it recognizes it as potential vandalism or some such. If you scroll down to the very bottom of the upload page, there might be an option to ignore any warnings it gives you. If that doesn't help, try asking Culator. He knows more about image uploading than I do. Toprawa and Ralltiir (talk) 22:46, January 24, 2013 (UTC)
I'll try that. Thanks.--Dionne Jinn (Something to say?) 22:48, January 24, 2013 (UTC)

Hildebrandt Stennes

Hey, Tope. I just saw you added Star Wars: The Art of the Brothers Hildebrandt to the Sources of the Stennes (species) page. I'm currently working on that page and its sibling, Stennes Shifter, so I want to make reference to the image the Stennes appear in in the book, but I can't find it. Which particular image or page were you referring to? Thanks for any help! ~SavageBOB sig 13:02, January 25, 2013 (UTC)

  • The picture I got that from is on the book's "Foreward" page at the beginning. There's a Mos Eisley Cantina painting with a few of its patrons, and there's a little goblin-looking guy sitting at the table next to Momaw Nadon. I admit I wasn't perfectly clear who that was, so I took a stab. I'm not sure what the difference is between these two species, but I guess it looks more like the Shifter. Hope that helps. Toprawa and Ralltiir (talk) 19:11, January 25, 2013 (UTC)
    • Ah, OK. My copy has that page missing... Does it seem that the image is intended to represent the set of characters present in the A New Hope cantina scene? In that case, it'd be Trinto Duaba, who's a Shifter. If not, we can't really tell, since the species and subspecies look identical. Thanks again. ~SavageBOB sig 21:51, January 25, 2013 (UTC)
      • Definitely yes, to answer your question, and I agree that it appears to correspond to Duaba. I had added the source to his article as well. In this picture, Duaba is sitting next to Momaw Nadon, which I'm to understand from Duaba's article is his position in the film as well. Toprawa and Ralltiir (talk) 02:11, January 26, 2013 (UTC)
        • That's it. Thanks for checking! I'll add it to he Shifter article too. ~SavageBOB sig 02:49, January 26, 2013 (UTC)

Quotation

Hey Tope. After I read through the manual of style, something came up while I was reviewing this article, Duwani Mechanical Products. In the quotation section of the Manual, the later point of "What a Quote includes" and the single point of "What a Quote is not" something is confusing me. Can there be quotes from in-universe guides, books, etc. or not? The said case would be this guide. Thanks. Winterz (talk) 15:05, January 25, 2013 (UTC)

Halloween

Hey, Tope, I wanted to follow up on the Darth Vader & Son mention of Halloween and get your opinion. I checked the book, and there's no explicit mention of Halloween. Instead, there's a gag where toddler Luke is dressed as a stormtrooper and trick-or-treating at Mon Mothma's house. She says, "Aren't you a little short for a stormtrooper?" That's the only text on the page. Now, this is an obvious reference to Halloween, the earth holiday. What's less clear is if it has any place being mentioned (or listed as an appearance) on our Halloween page, which is about the in-universe holiday. Of course, the book itself is quite nebulous as to whether it takes place on earth or in the Star Wars universe. What do you think? Does this deserve any kind of attention on our page, or should I just axe the appearance? ~SavageBOB sig 12:21, February 20, 2013 (UTC)

  • Yes, that's interesting, and I understand what you mean. I would consider this purely a real-world, OOU reference and therefore having no real relation to the IU Halloween. If it were me, I think I would probably remove it from the Appearances but still consider leaving a brief BTS note explaining what you just detailed here, though if you even wanted to forgo that I would not balk. Toprawa and Ralltiir (talk) 12:51, February 20, 2013 (UTC)

  • It's a picture of Chewbacca with the following passage from the SOTE novel: "She turned to Guri, who said, 'Meet Snoova, a well-known Wookiee bounty hunter,'" referring to the disguise. Toprawa and Ralltiir (talk) 22:41, February 20, 2013 (UTC)

Klaatu

Hi Tope, is there any confirmation on the Shadows of the Empire: Luke's Taken Prisoner card that it is specifically Klaatu and not just another random Kadas'sa'Nikto? Based on likeness alone it could also be Giran or Yotts Orren. Is there any additional information regarding Klaatu from this source or Brothers Hildebrandt? Rokkur Shen (talk) 01:44, February 21, 2013 (UTC)

  • Yes, Brothers Hildebrandt states that it's meant to be a Klaatu. I was unsure myself until I read that. Toprawa and Ralltiir (talk) 01:53, February 21, 2013 (UTC)
    • Thanks for the quick response. Just to be clear, is it quoted as "a Klaatu"? Was the Brothers Hildebrant book published prior to the species receiving the name "Nikto". This may infer that they meant it to be a member of the Nikto species rather than the specifically named character: Klaatu. Rokkur Shen (talk) 02:12, February 21, 2013 (UTC)
      • The book says "The other aliens in the scene are wearing Don Post masks of Weequay and Klaatu, who both appeared in the movies." When I added the source to these articles, I was mistakenly treating "Klaatu" as a species. I'm realizing now that it's a character. The Hildebrandts used some film props from the Lucasfilm archives for production photos, so I'm guessing this is meant to say that it's the character mask used for Klaatu. I would leave the source in the Klaatu article and re-add both of what I removed to the Kadas'sa'Nikto article. Toprawa and Ralltiir (talk) 02:27, February 21, 2013 (UTC)
        • Ok, sounds good. Man, I wish I had that book. Rokkur Shen (talk) 03:40, February 21, 2013 (UTC)

Hasbro

Hey, Tope, where was it decided to condense all the Hasbro toy line articles into one article? I must have missed the discussion. I think it's a mistake, since these toy lines are similar to different comic book series, in my opinion, and condensing them means that the 1,000+ figures Hasbro has made all get lumped together. I'm not upset or anything; just wanted to register my opinion. :) ~SavageBOB sig 14:36, February 23, 2013 (UTC)

  • I haven't condensed the toy line articles, and I agree with you that they should remain separate. I merely moved the "Star Wars Saga" toy line article to its formal name, which is simply "Star Wars." If you read our article on it, as well as Rebelscum's blurb on that specific line, you'll see that "Star Wars Saga" is fan nomenclature for that specific line's uninspired name. Flowers and plants

Hello Tope. I just found out today that you separated the search term "flower" from the "plant" article's redirect in January. While I'm sure you did it for good reasons, I don't really think we should have separate articles. I've been working on "plant" for some time, and I believe everything about flowers has its place there, since flowers are only the reproductive organs of seed plants—as you know, of course. Don't get me wrong, I did not come here intent on changing things, but I wanted to discuss that matter with you, because if we expand on "flower", many things added will be redundant with the content of "plant." Regards. --LelalMekha (talk) 01:17, March 10, 2013 (UTC)

  • Hey, Lelal. Thanks for the message. I do understand what you're saying. I think this is basically a microcosm of the general "hyperinclusionism" debate; i.e., what deserves its own article, and what should be folded into a larger article? I am inclined to keep the flower article for the same reason I imagine we will keep the fruit article. Fruits are no less the byproduct of a plant as a flower ultimately is; would we therefore merge the fruit article into the plant article? Or, for that matter, merge any of the Imperial Palace locations into Imperial Palace, as one example? While most, if not all, of the information that would go into the "flower" article may very well be repeated in the "plant" article, I think it's important to remember that while every flower is a plant, not every plant has a flower. I believe there is ultimately enough unique Star Wars information (see here for an idea of how much the "flower" article could potentially be expanded) for the flower article to stand independent of the parent plant article. • Well, now that I realize how many pages link to "flower," I can see your point. Granted, I am an inclusionist myself, but more of a "variable-geometry" inclusionist to tell the truth. ;-) Since I've been expanding on "plant", I may start working on "flower" too. I'll keep an eye on it at any rate. --LelalMekha (talk) 02:50, March 10, 2013 (UTC)

Anakin Skywalker page

I'm having a problem seeing the full Anakin Skywalker page. When I get to the section where he finds Galen Marek, everything below that is covered by blank white. None of the other pages that I've gone to have had that issue. This is the only page that I can't fully see/read. DBZSSJ3 (talk) 07:25, March 10, 2013 (UTC)DBZSSJ3

TOR Wampas

Hey, Tope, I've finally gotten a TOR character to Hoth, and I've been noting where wampas play a role in quest storylines. Here's what I've got so far: In the smuggler story, the smuggler (at this point, a Republic-allied privateer) goes to Shai Tenna's Pleasure Den, a bunker carved out of the Hoth ice where the Weequay pirate Shai Tenna's men hang out. The smuggler is trying to be initiated into Tenna's group, the White Maw, so he can steal an advanced cloaking device from them at the urging of Senator Dodonna (revealed in the mission "Divided Loyalties"). However, once the smuggler does the deeds requested of him for initiation, one of Tenna's men ambushes the smuggler and knocks him/her out (quest: Brotherhood). The smuggler awakens in the Wampa Cave in the Highmount Ridge region of Hoth, near the Pleasure Den. The smuggler must escape the wampa cave alive (quest: Brotherhood). There is a bonus quest here that reveals a bit more: The wampas are Tenna's pets, and the player can defeat 10 of them to complete an optional mission (quest: "Wampa Stomp"). Here, the tactics of the wampas may also be of interest to you. They come in several sizes, from roughly human height up to twice human height. The smaller ones hide in piles of snow; when you attack one of the larger ones, the smaller ones burst out and surprise attack. May be fodder for the behavior section of the article.

In other areas, we get smaller mentions in quests that are open to any Republic-allied character: We learn that a group of renegades on Hoth known as the Terror Brigade are made of ex-Mandalorians. They came to Hoth looking for thrills, among which was wrestling wampas (quest: The Terror Brigade). Later, there's a quest where the PC has to take out Master Sav, the leader of a group of cultists known as the Hailstorm Brotherhood. The Imperials once left him for dead in wampa territory. The Imperial Captain Biron (temporarily at a truce with the Republic to take out Sav) says, "He strangled one with a tauntaun femur and skinned it with his own claws. He showed up in the ice fortress weeks later, quite alive." (quest: Trick or Treat).

I'll take notes on further mentions; there will probably be a few more. ~SavageBOB sig 15:22, March 17, 2013 (UTC)

  • Thanks, Bob. Fortunately, I think I've gotten most of this already, though I'm not sure I covered every wampa bit on the planet, so I appreciate your continuing notes on this. If you see anything I'm missing or want to see anything specifically added, like the Behavior section bit, just say so. Thanks. Toprawa and Ralltiir (talk) 18:37, March 17, 2013 (UTC)
    • Ah, cool. I didn't notice you'd done the update. Are you playing the game, or did you get this through YouTube, etc.? Yeah, the behavior bit probably bears adding. I'll note any other quirks as I continue my playthrough. ~SavageBOB sig 19:29, March 17, 2013 (UTC)
    • Also, it seems you have a Trooper mission featuring Shai Tenna accounted for, but not the Smuggler mission I recounted above. There are apparently two versions of "Wampa Stomp," one for the Trooper, one for the Smuggler, and both should probably be mentioned as well. ~SavageBOB sig 19:32, March 17, 2013 (UTC)
      • Ok, will look into it. I just watched some guy's YouTube playthrough, which didn't appear to be comprehensive. Toprawa and Ralltiir (talk) 19:34, March 17, 2013 (UTC)

Sith Emperor

Wouldn't it look better if we started calling the Sith Emperor by his real name? Sith Emperor sounds generic, since numerous people held that title. Wouldn't it look better if he was called by his actual name, Darth Vitiate, from now on. In order to avoid possible confusion? Unsigned comment by DBZSSJ3 (talk • contribs)

Official Wookieepedia Friends

If one was to ask for an official friendship with Wookieepedia, what would be main thing you would look for? A lot of information, a good format, large community, referencing, fanon/truth of information, how it would help Wookieepedia? I was just wondering. I was looking through the official Wookieepedia friend nominations in the Successful and Unsuccessful parts to see what. What do you think? Thanks! • Yeah, that's about the gist of it. You should be convincing us that Wookieepedia would actually benefit from being friends with you, not that you're using Wookieepedia to improve your own site. Toprawa and Ralltiir (talk) 19:46, March 27, 2013 (UTC)
