Oops

Ah, sorry. I've never used the random page before, and I just forgot about the history page. I'll get it next time. Chack Jadson (Talk) 21:19, 18 September 2008 (UTC)

Scarl system

I have responded to your inquiry on the Scarl System and the Executor on my page. Briefly, the page originally said it was constructed at Fondor (unsure of the source...it was already on the page for a while). I tried to combine the two seemingly contradictory statements. See my talk page for further details. I will go and look at my wording to insure no "personal research"/fanfic hanky panky. IthinkIwannaLeia 21:51, 18 September 2008 (UTC)

Light and Shadow

Hey, T&R. After finding several articles linking to the previously non-existant Jedi Nova, I instinctively created her article. However, after reading the source material, I fear the story she originates from -- as well as all the other articles based on the story -- are pure fanon (the site can be found here; I'm sure the "Fanboy Association" in the title pretty much confirms its fanon...icity? I doubt that's a word.). I'm not sure if we allow fanon articles on Wookieepedia, so do you mind taking a look into the situation during your free time? Thanks in advance, and happy editing. // ~mikah~ 02:07, 19 September 2008 (UTC)

  • Thanks for bringing this to my attention. It seems that the article is not fanon, but instead comes from a licensed story that was canceled and never released. I've added the appropriate tag signifying this at the top of the Nova article. Toprawa and Ralltiir 03:01, 19 September 2008 (UTC)

Re:Your GAN activity

Sorry, I didn't know. I'm new to the whole GAN thing. Do I need to add a short summary or something of my changes into comments as a record? Thx for the tip. Soresumakashi 02:23, 20 September 2008 (UTC)

  • You don't need to specify what changes you make to an article on the GAN page. Toprawa and Ralltiir 02:55, 20 September 2008 (UTC)

Bring Back... Star Wars

  • On 17th September, you deleted the page Bring Back... Star Wars, which I created, citing that it was "nonsense". This was a real episode that aired in the UK, as you can check for yourself here. I was just wondering if you could explain to me why you felt it was appropriate to delete the page --Jinzler 08:11, 20 September 2008 (UTC)
    • Okay, cheers for explaining that to me. I'm guessing that it is alright for me to put something on it in List of references to Star Wars in television instead. Although, if it had aired in the US, i'm sure that it would have got enough viewers to be worthy of it's own article --Jinzler 21:18, 21 September 2008 (UTC)

Executor

Hey there T&R. I saw your recently uploaded Executor image :File:ExecutorShuttle.jpg and thought I'd let you know there is already a larger/more complete version of that image in use on the site, :File:Theexecutorsheiswhite.jpg, in case you wanted to use that instead. - JMAS Hey, it's me! 18:09, 20 September 2008 (UTC)

  • Yeah, I know. I'm not a big fan of that picture, though. Too dark. There is a much cleaner version in the SOTG 2007 book I'm trying to get to replace it. Toprawa and Ralltiir 19:17, 20 September 2008 (UTC)
    • In that case, I'll try to scan it. :) VT-16 19:20, 20 September 2008 (UTC)

Gorgon

You sure love that SWE don't you? :P Anyway, (and you're probably tired of this by now), do you think you could be a little more specific as to what you would like to see there, or if possible, provide the entry? Thanks a ton. Chack Jadson (Talk) 23:38, 22 September 2008 (UTC)

Maul Stanley

Hello. I'm new at this so it's quite possible I made a mistake, but could you please explain to me why you deleted my Maul Stanley article just 5 minutes after I created it? I made the effort to substantiate the piece with no less than 10 reference links, so I can't imagine what about the entry you considered "nonsense." I would appreciate a clarification, thank you.

Cybercomic 16:53, 23 September 2008 (UTC)

Not knowing what your objection is to my contribution, I have just re-posted the article. Before doing so, I gave it a subsequent review to ensure that proper guidelines have been followed. If you have further issues with this entry, I would appreciate you making them known through proper channels, rather than pulling the article outright. Thank you.

Cybercomic 18:08, 23 September 2008 (UTC)

Though I appreciate you taking the time to indicate that you consider this entry "not notable" (while deleting the entire article for a second time), this is not solely for you to decide. In cases like this, the subject is to be brought up for review by other contributors and not arbitrarily pulled because one individual objects to its inclusion. As for the character being "not notable," he is easily as notable as other "notable fans" included in Wookieepedia, such as Thomas J. Spanos and The Elvis Trooper. His contributions to Star Wars fandom are tangible and of merit, otherwise they would not have been reported on by such sources as TheForce.net and the blog at StarWars.com. Maul Stanley's activities have also been reported on by such notable non-Star Wars sites as Blabbermouth.net, MetalSludge.tv, KissOnline.com and KissAsylum.com, all of which were linked in the body of the article. Clearly, these established sites consider this subject notable so I'm rather surprised that you feel the need to discount them.

I am trying to give you due consideration here, which is more than you have thus far shown me by deleting my entry twice. If you personally do not feel that the entry has merit (despite all the evidence provided), you are entitled to put the topic up for discussion. However, you are overstepping accepted boundaries and being unfair to both me and the subject by repeatedly acting as judge, jury and executioner with regard to this matter.

RE:Ordering appearances

It seems that you are ordering appearance lists by OOU publication date, rather than IU chronological order, as they should properly be arranged. Please refrain from doing this. Only source lists are to be arranged by publication date. Toprawa and Ralltiir 17:51, 25 September 2008 (UTC)

  • I beg your pardon, but I didn't do any such edit. At least I'm not aware of that. Which article do you have on mind? --Darth Paulus 20px (May the Force serve you well!) 18:11, 25 September 2008 (UTC)
  • Sorry about my unintentional copying your original message here... I meant no harm. Also, I am wondering which articles I DID screw up, regarding appearance sections. I REALLY have no idea. Could you, please, be more specific? Aren't you just mistaken? Trust me, the last thing I wanna do is vandalism... --Darth Paulus 20px (May the Force serve you well!) 23:28, 25 September 2008 (UTC)

Gray Jedi robe

Hey there T&R. Since I'm pretty new here I wanted to make sure I understood about merging pages. Basically my understanding of it is that I add in a new paragraph into Traditional robes, cite my sources, add new refs if needed, delete everything from the Gray Jedi robe page and add a redirect to Jedi apparel. Did I miss anything? Cylka 18:01, 4 October 2008 (UTC)

  • Will do. Thanks. ~ Cylka ~ 18:40, 4 October 2008 (UTC)

I actually am having a problem with refs, I'm not sure I understand what's going on with them and the help pages aren't really helping me. When I footnote using an existing ref, it changes the number of that ref and all other refs - maybe this is normal? I also wanted to add a new ref and I was wondering if I'm suppossed to give it a ref name or if there's some kind of standard list for refs or something like that. ~ Cylka ~ 19:09, 4 October 2008 (UTC)

GA Opinion

Having never nominated anything before, and because I know you are heavily involved with both FA and GAs, I'd like to ask your opinion on whether you think an article is quality enough for me to nominate it for GA status. The article is Saboteur. Thanks in advance. - JMAS Hey, it's me! 19:30, 29 October 2008 (UTC)

  • I decided to just take the plunge and went ahead and nominated it. Your review would be most appreciated though. :) - JMAS Hey, it's me! 20:16, 29 October 2008 (UTC)
    • Nevermind. I don't think it's got what it needs to ever make the standard. It's too broad a subject for all the implied instances and too limited with just the two stated sources. - JMAS Hey, it's me! 00:16, 30 October 2008 (UTC)

Got a question for ya TR regarding your work on the Executor article (I assume you'll be replacing the existing article once you're work is complete). Are you planning to incorporate any or all of the current images in the article? Take this image, for example. It's an excellent image of the command salon and I'd hate to see it not included in any re-write. - JMAS Hey, it's me! 18:33, 1 November 2008 (UTC)

  • As of now, the images I definitely plan to include into the new article can be seen in the "Image repository" section of my Executor project page. I'm not really sure right now where I would include the command salon picture, and I'm trying to avoid including images that aren't specific to the Executor itself. For example, a picture of the bridge is kind of redundant since every Imperial and Executor-class Star Destroyer has an identical bridge layout. Likewise, the picture of the command salon can just as easily be applied to any Executor-class ship. So, I think it'd be more appropriate to include that image in the Executor-class Star Dreadnought article. Toprawa and Ralltiir 18:47, 1 November 2008 (UTC)
  • Glad it was useful! :) VT-16 23:16, 1 November 2008 (UTC)

Trandoshan mercenary page

why did you delete the page:Trandoshan mercenary?Darth exelton 03:49, 10 November 2008 (UTC)

  • The Wookieepedia community has come to a decision on not creating articles of that nature, such as Corellian pilots, Rodian bounty hunters, etc. Any information that might go into that article can be added to the Trandoshan page. Toprawa and Ralltiir 04:10, 10 November 2008 (UTC)
    • thanks.Darth exelton 02:31, 14 November 2008 (UTC)

Bendu

I was wondering if you could change the name of the Bendu page to Insignia of Unity, here's why. Ii own all of the sources, with the exception of one, that are stated on the page and not one of them state the symbol as "Bendu". They say that the symbol was inspired by the Bendu/Jedi but never call it as such. Second the Millennium Falcon novel describes the insignia in the book and calls the symbol the "Insignia of Unity". This title also fits better with the information provided in its other sources. So I'm currently making edits to the page but I don't want to add the Falcon info till the name has actually been changed. What do you think? Apotheoses Jedi 00:31, 10 November 2008 (UTC-6)

  • I have no opinion on the matter. Feel free to move the page to a new title using the "Move" tab at the top of the page. Toprawa and Ralltiir 16:58, 10 November 2008 (UTC)

TFU Emperor on your Executor.

When the Emperor confronts Vader about Galen Marek, you mention that the Emperor is there via hologram. Is that the case in the Novel or Comic? In every version of the video game, (PS3, XBox360, Wii, PS2, PSP, at least) he appears to be physically present. He doesn't appear as the standard blue hologram, and there's no indication that he's "possessing" PROXY. Just a heads up that you may need to pull a source count. SinisterSamurai 20:04, 10 November 2008 (UTC)

  • That information comes explicitly from the novel and is accordingly sourced to it. In the case of TFU, I believe the novel outranks any of the video game variations on the hierarchy of canon, as it's the "original" story. Toprawa and Ralltiir 22:39, 10 November 2008 (UTC)

    • I like that the ships aren't so squeezed, but I'd rather not cut off part of the Executor. Toprawa and Ralltiir 21:32, 14 November 2008 (UTC)
      • Well, the Executor is cut off in the currently uploaded version. It cuts off to blank black space, hence why I thought cropping would make it look better. But it's your call. - JMAS Hey, it's me! 04:16, 15 November 2008 (UTC)

  • So that I won't break the 3RR, would you mind reverting the last edits on the page until it is settled on the talk page? None of the "opposing" party seem willing to discuss it on the talk page. I would be interested to know your opinion however, as an admin, is my reasoning on the talk page valid? - JMAS Hey, it's me! 21:17, 15 November 2008 (UTC)

Alliance Fleet

Hello! just curious why you removed Rusty Eagle, etc. from the Alliance Fleet page. Did I put them in the wrong categories?JustinGann 19:52, 18 November 2008 (UTC)

  • The difference between the ships you've added and the ones I've removed is that those still up there are specific starship classes, not individual ships. Perhaps a section for individual ships would be something to add to the article, but they should be treated separately in another section. Toprawa and Ralltiir 23:11, 18 November 2008 (UTC)

hi again

Curious why you removed this item from Garven Dreis page, as it is true: "Furthermore, in the comic adaptation one of Dreis's wingmen in the trench run is in a Y-wing, whereas in the movie both wingmen are in X-wings."

  • I removed it because it's trivial information that departs from anything directly related to Dreis. That sort of information would fit best in the wingmen articles. Toprawa and Ralltiir 16:20, 20 November 2008 (UTC)
    • Ok. But I'm not sure which of the two wingmen it is. How about I put it in the Red Squadron article?JustinGann 16:49, 20 November 2008 (UTC)

Talk pages

Hey, I just wanted to let you know I do try to refrain from "general discussion" in page's discussion. Sorry if I crossed a line somewhere. Was it the thing about Jaxxon? I didn't intend that as a general comment. I actually thought that was information to consider working into the article, although perhaps it is more of a BTS thing. It strikes me that most readers may not realized Jaxxon is taxonomically correct (and not just in a state of denial) when he claims "I ain't no Rodent!" I really thought that meritted mentioning in either the Jaxxon or Lepi article. I wasn't just trying to make conversation. I admit I probably needed to elucidate my intent a bit more--sometimes I think I just expect people to read my mind;) JustinGann 03:12, 21 November 2008 (UTC)

Viper probots in the Fact Files

Hey, Toprawa—I did some checking for some dates on the commissioning on the droids and all I got was "following the Battle of Yavin". However, there were similar droids in the same Probot series manufactured by Arakyd before this time. Information is from issue 6; did you want a scan of it? - Cavalier One20px(Squadron channel) 08:50, 26 November 2008 (UTC)

Page move

Could you move Star Wars: The Essential Atlas back to The Essential Atlas? All the other Essential Guides start with The Essential Guide ... or The New Essential Guide ... and don't have the "Star Wars" at the beginning, so it seems logical to have The Essential Atlas article follow suit. I'd do it myself, but as the move happened back in January, it was too long ago to allow for a revert now. - JMAS Hey, it's me! 02:21, 30 November 2008 (UTC)

Redirects

I really don't think it is wrong to have a page named R2 redirecting to R2-series astromech droid. Just check the number of articles linking to it. Tomorrow it will be at the top of Wanted Pages list because of those redlinks. Most of the redirects you just purged are crappy indeed, but if you want to delete this one, let's at least update the links to it. Mauser 17:26, 2 December 2008 (UTC)

  • It's not my fault other people have foolishly created redlinks to one specific R2 unit or model. "R2" could easily apply to dozens of different R2 units and models in canon. If anything, R2 should be a disambig page. Feel free to create it. Toprawa and Ralltiir 17:33, 2 December 2008 (UTC)

Your input/opinion

I'd like your opinion on something. A user keeps adding a presumed "Battle of Hoth (Clone Wars)" and Hoth as possible appearances in the Departure webcomic based solely on the letters HOT appearing in aurebesh on the first page of the comic, where the letter following the T is not visible at all. Based on our policies, is that basis enough to speculate and put them in the Appearances for the article? - JMAS Hey, it's me! 01:58, 5 December 2008 (UTC)

  • I'm not seeing the Aurebesh letters in the comic. Where are they at exactly? I would have to say that "HOT" does not equal "HOTH," as much as someone might like it to. It could be any other location that belongs with those three letters. Toprawa and Ralltiir 02:37, 5 December 2008 (UTC)
    • It's on the very first page of the comic, bottom panel, on the box. On the screen above the box, in aurebesh, it does say "The wampa(s) are attack(ing)" (in the parethesis are how the words presumably end since the panel cuts them off) which could mean literal wampas, or maybe the GAR had a Wampa Squadron. We just don't know. Hence why I removed it. But the user added it back with the pos tag added. But then to add an appearance of "Battle of Hoth (Clone Wars)" based on a "possible mentioned only in aurebesh" to the list seemed totally unbased to me. Sneevel Sourcing

Sorry to intrude, but I am not sure if I am getting all the nuances of the appearances you are trying to communicate. My fault, undoubtedly; as I always say, English is not my native language. I cannot find this information anywhere at Wookieepedia, special pages or anything. Let's see.

  • Any comic-book featuring a panel with a drawing of Boles Roor will be an appearance, no tag. Similarly, if Roor is mentioned doing anything in a novel, then it's an appearance for "Sneevel" (Obviously, meaning to extrapolate to any other species with each and any of their confirmed members).
  • If a novel only mentions Roor (such as TPM novelization), or if Roor is only mentioned in the dialogue of a comic-book, then its an "Indirect mention only".
  • If a novel or a comic-book dialogue mentions the species name ("We'd all be Sneevels") without giving information, it's "mentioned only".
  • If there's a mention to the planet "doing anything" (meaning that the natives were doing it) without specifically mention the species, would it be an indirect mention? ("Cerea, for instance, will not allow the import of heavy machinery or vehicles" - meaning "the Cereans will not allow the import to their planet").
  • A source will never feature Roor, because sources do not feature anything. However, if a role-playing guide or other source mentions only Roor without naming his species (example: Ben Quadinaros in the Databank), is it an indirect mention?

Again, apologies for disturbing you that much, but I would like to work in some other species in the near future, so this information would be quite useful. Thank you in advance for your time and attention. --Skippy Farlstendoiro 11:00, 13 December 2008 (UTC)

Page move request

Would you be willing to delete Champions of the Force so I can move Champions of the Force (disambiguation) to that page? It would be appreciated. Thanks. - JMAS Hey, it's me! 21:37, 14 December 2008 (UTC)

  • Actually, I'd request that you delete Champions of the Force to make way for me to revert the move of Champions of the Force (novel). It's pointless to have a disambig at the nature title when you can just have it at (disambiguation), especially when one item is miles more notable than the other two. -- AdmirableAckbar (Talk) 21:41, 14 December 2008 (UTC)
    • I, and another user, disagree. If it's just two items sharing the name, then the "Youmay" template works fine. As there are now three items that share the name, there is no reason not to have the novel marked as such and make "Champions of the Force" the disambig page. - JMAS Hey, it's me! 21:44, 14 December 2008 (UTC)
      • There is. Champions of the Force (novel) is what the majority of people will be looking for and linking to, so it makes sense to have it at its natural title. Putting disambig pages at the natural title is just pointless when one item's more notable than the others. If a disambig page must be had - and the youmay template allows you to easily link to two other articles - it should be at (disambig), rather than wasting the natural article title and making it more complicated for people linking to the novel, which is what most will be linking to. The amount of people who agree or disagree with something is somewhat irrelevant if they've not provided any actually reasons for doing so. -- AdmirableAckbar (Talk) 21:48, 14 December 2008 (UTC)
        • The page has been deleted. I'm going to let you guys figure this out. Please take this conversation to your own talk pages. Toprawa and Ralltiir 21:51, 14 December 2008 (UTC)
          • You can't state with any certainty what the majority people will be looking for, unless you are psychic Ackbar. So, since there is disagreement about this, I suggest starting a discussion/vote about it on the Champions of the Force talk page. - JMAS Hey, it's me! 21:52, 14 December 2008 (UTC)

Thank you for your interest; I've been doing KSC and was wanting to FAN it. Arvel Crynyd

  • Does the Complete Star Wars Encyclopedia indeed indicate he was in control of his A-Wing when it flew into the Executor, or is that not mentioned? When you cleaned up Chiraneau, you changed the sentence to say the Executor was hit by a wayward A-Wing piloted by Crynyd. What's the real case? I always thought myself that it was out of control and happened to hit the ship, but apparently from what Grand Moff Tranner says, it is indicated in the CSWE that Crynyd was in control of the A-Wing. 71.233.247.70 17:36, 4 January 2009 (UTC)

      • The Verify tag is really used for articles that are created that have no Appearances or Sources whatsoever. Once they are listed with appearances or sources, it's generally safe to remove the Verify tag. Whether or not they are fanon from there is a different matter, which is why we have the Fanon template. Toprawa and Ralltiir 17:20, 8 January 2009 (UTC)

End of 2008 status report: Wormie

  • Just in case you're curious as to where this little project stands, here are the statistics:
  1. Total length: 309 kilobytes, which is 90 KB longer than the actual Luke Skywalker article. Does not include material on the second page.
  2. 110 sources crossed off the expansion list.
  3. Unique references: 143
  4. Net growth over 2008: 180 KB.

I realize that the original goal I set—which was to nominate Luke for GA by the end of 2008—was not accomplished. For one, I didn't know exactly how much stuff there is out there on Luke. Turns out, about half of all continuity. Two, I've been distracted with other, smaller projects, particularly over the past few months. However, I've not given up on this idea, and I'm hoping to get a lot more of it done in 2009! Cheers. Atarumaster88 20px (Talk page) 20:22, 12 January 2009 (UTC)

Sorry, I'll strike that post. I was originally going to leave it to someone else, but after two days, I noticed that no-one else had reviewed it, and I had time on my hands, so I did a copy-edit (I managed to fix a lot of tense errors). • If you have yet to read through the article's BTS, I would request as a matter of formality that you refrain from voting, because it compromises the review system. Anyone can just vote. Imperial era vs Imperial Period

  • I noticed that you just moved back a couple Imperial-timeframe battles from (Imperial era), back to (Imperial Period), after I just changed them. The reason I did this was because the Dawn of Defiance events were the only articles on the site to used (Imperial Period), as opposed to (Imperial era), which is used by a lot of articles, so I moved them just to bring them into line with the rest of the site. If you think (Imperial Period) is more appropriate, could you perhaps consider moving all the articles on this site using (Imperial era) to that, just so that were can keep them all the same --Jinzler 22:28, 30 January 2009 (UTC)

Executor TFU databank entry

From the PSP version: "Darth Vader's personal starship, the mammoth Super Star Destroyer is currently under construction in the remote reaches of the Outer Rim. Designed primarily to serve as a symbol of the Emperor's unlimited power and resources, its size and shape are meant to inspire fear and terrify entire systems into submission. When completed, the one-of-a-kind vessel will be armed with over a thousand weapons, and serve as the flagship of Darth Vader's fleet. Along with its numerous weapons, the starship will carry two full wings of TIE fighters, totaling 144 ships, along with 200 other combat and support vessels; 38,000 ground stormtroopers; and enough garrison bases and Imperial walkers to destroy any planetary opposition. Currently, however, the Executor is home only to Darth Vader, his secret Apprentice, PROXY, and thousands of construction droids working tirelessly to complete the starship."

Keyis era

Umm...that was probably the result of the article being set in the Rebellion era (before 5 ABY, the official start of the era), but still referencing the New Republic. If anything, I suppose, it should be the Rebellion era tag, rather than the NR one. What do you think?

Incidentally, the text story from the start of Chapter 6 in the Rebel Alliance Sourcebook is present in the 1st edition. - Cavalier One20px(Squadron channel) 18:01, 3 February 2009 (UTC)

I was going by the official publication eras, which I believe we use for our era timeframes. I'm still confused by this; officially he appears in a Rebellion era story, but the timeframe indicates the NR has been formed. Perhaps leaving the eras as they are is the best option for now? - Cavalier One20px(Squadron channel) 18:31, 3 February 2009 (UTC)
