Sentinel page

Hello, User:75.148.7.250 keeps adding misinformation to Sentinel-class landing craft article, even as I have told them many times. They even try to sneak adding the info by doing two edits consecutively which only registers as one on the recent activity page so I had to look through the article. I have told them several time on their page as well.--Vitus Infinitus (talk) 04:56, December 15, 2017 (UTC)

Rey's Jedi status

At the end of The Last Jedi, Luke declared Rey to be the last Jedi. This makes me wonder if she holds the status of Jedi Knight now or if she is just a Jedi who doesn't really have a Jedi rank? DBZSSJ3 (talk) 21:52, December 17, 2017 (UTC)

  • Is Rey a Jedi Knight or not? Please answer. DBZSSJ3 (talk) 00:40, December 21, 2017 (UTC)

Unidentified Pilots Policy?

Hi, sorry to bother you, but I believe you (or another administrator) said that the Unidentified Blue Squadron Pilot page was not needed. If a pilot who gets a line doesn't get a page why does Unidentified Blue Squadron pilot|this page exist?!?! I apologize if I seem rude, but I'm just mad that there's a page for a pilot who's face isn't even seen and not for one who has been seen and gets a line as well (albeit it being very short). Unsigned comment by Banana32 (talk • contribs)

  • Hello. First of all, I'm not sure what article you're talking about. You'll need to show me a link or deletion log or something. Secondly, please understand that the existence of one article doesn't necessarily negate or justify another. We have an open article-creation system here on Wookieepedia, and users are pretty much free to create what they want, then we parse things down from there on a case-by-case basis based on our Notability and Deletion policies. Toprawa and Ralltiir (talk) 20:13, December 20, 2017 (UTC)
    • Oh sorry, I created the link in my original paragraph. That other pilot article just didn't seem as needed to me as the one I created. (The one I created got deleted my another administrator, but it was on the pilot who said "Copy that" during the Battle of Scarif.) Banana32 (talk) 20:24, December 20, 2017 (UTC)
      • Looking at the deletion log, it seems the article's author gave the go-ahead for it to be deleted. I don't know if this was you or someone else who said this. And I was not the administrator who deleted this article, so I really don't know what went on here. I don't see anything preventing you from recreating this article, presuming it meets all of the necessary criteria. Toprawa and Ralltiir (talk) 20:32, December 20, 2017 (UTC)
        • Oh, thank you so much! I'll make sure it meets the necessary criteria and I'll try to find an image for it (I can always screenshot one myself). Banana32 (talk) 20:41, December 20, 2017 (UTC)

RE: Blue Squadron Pilots Policy?

Thanks for giving me the go-ahead to create that page. I believe I did pretty well adding to that page. If it's not too much trouble, could you check it out? (Unidentified Blue Squadron pilot|Here's the link to save you trouble.) Oh, and I moved the page with the same name to Unidentified Blue Squadron pilot 2 because the other pilot had a much bigger role. Banana32 (talk) 21:45, December 20, 2017 (UTC)

Unseen Pilots

Hi, sorry to bother you, but can we upload an image of a pilot's fighter as their infobox image because their faces were never seen? For example, Torius Chord and Unidentified Blue Squadron pilot 2|another pilot were never seen, but would uploading images of their fighters as their infobox images be appropriate? Banana32 (talk) 21:55, December 20, 2017 (UTC)

  • It has been our practice to not do that. You should just add the image of the fighter to the article body. Toprawa and Ralltiir (talk) 22:00, December 20, 2017 (UTC)

Rogue One Project?

Hi,

Sorry for disturbing you again, but I would like to know: is there a project for Rogue One: A Star Wars Story articles? I've noticed that many articles about characters created for Rogue One (mainly pilots and Rogue One members) are stubs or have very little information. I've also noticed that there are projects for articles of Star Wars: Rebels and Star Wars the Clone Wars, so I thought Hey, it can't hurt to check if there is a project dedicated to fixing up Rogue One articles.  : D Banana32 (talk) 01:32, December 21, 2017 (UTC)

  • No problem. There is not currently a WookieeProject for Rogue One. You can find out more about WookieeProjects and see a complete list of all projects here. Toprawa and Ralltiir (talk) 01:42, December 21, 2017 (UTC)
    • Okay, thanks! Banana32 (talk) 02:20, December 21, 2017 (UTC)

Arvel Crynyd Scene

Hi again,

I have another question. In the scene where Arvel Crynyd suicides into an Imperial ship, there is another fighter, I believe an X-wing, which is seen getting blown-up. I'm curious, has the pilot ever been identified? Here's a video if you can't quite remember (I copied it at the exact time to save you trouble:) https://youtu.be/jzlXzftbMKc?t=235 Thanks! Banana32 (talk) 18:53, December 22, 2017 (UTC)

  • I'm afraid I don't know. You're welcome to check the Return of the Jedi article, which lists all characters who appear in the film. Toprawa and Ralltiir (talk) 20:22, December 22, 2017 (UTC)
    • Okay, thanks! Banana32 (talk) 20:33, December 22, 2017 (UTC)

Another Wiki Problem

Hello again,

You probably don't know, but on the following pages from another wiki (Belsed-Qan Idan and Nat-Sem) there are images of jedi from the Battle of Geonosis. There is a source, but I'm still skeptical. I've repeatedly asked the administrator that created the page but they never responded. Could you just take a moment to check?:

http://star-wars-legends.wikia.com/wiki/Belsed-Qan_Idan
http://star-wars-legends.wikia.com/wiki/Nat-Sem

Thanks! Banana32 (talk) 22:33, December 23, 2017 (UTC)

  • Hey couldn't help but notice this, so I checked out the sources and they seem to come from the legends reference book, The Complete Star Wars Encyclopedia. There doesn't seem to be a canon source yet, but according to tweets by Leland Chee and Pablo Hidalgo, vehicles, characters, species, etc that appear in movies and are identified in now legends material stay the same in the holocron, though this has been a debatable topic by some editors on grounds to create/not-create canon articles. I brought this topic up in Forum:SH:Stance on Story Group Tweets.--Vitus InfinitusTalk 23:24, December 23, 2017 (UTC)
    • Okay, so should I upload those two images to the pages here on Wookiepedia? Banana32 (talk) 00:24, December 24, 2017 (UTC)
      • If it's on the legends page and not a new canon page then there should be no problem in my opinion but wait until Toprawa gives his response.--Vitus InfinitusTalk 00:27, December 24, 2017 (UTC)
        • Yes, both jedi's articles are legends. Banana32 (talk) 00:48, December 24, 2017 (UTC)
          • You didn't actually ask me a question other than to check these articles on another wiki, which I don't even know what I'm checking for. What is it exactly that you need? Toprawa and Ralltiir (talk) 02:15, December 24, 2017 (UTC)
            • Can I add those two images from the other wiki onto Nat-Sem and Belsed-Qan Idan's pages, respectively? Banana32 (talk) 02:18, December 24, 2017 (UTC)
              • Not unless you can independently verify what source(s) they come from. The other user posting in response to this doesn't seem 100% sure, so you shouldn't just take their word for it either. Toprawa and Ralltiir (talk) 02:21, December 24, 2017 (UTC)

Poletec Chieftain?

Hi, The following link shows concept art of the Poletec Chief. However it calls him the "Poletec Chieftan." I'm assuming they meant chieftain, because "chieftan" isn't a word. Should I rename the Poletec Chief page? Here's the link: http://www.starwars.com/tv-shows/the-clone-wars-legacy/bad-batch-concept-art-gallery Banana32 (talk) 23:19, December 26, 2017 (UTC) Edit: sorry I believe you'll have to scroll down a little to see it. Banana32 (talk) 23:20, December 26, 2017 (UTC)

  • I would not recommend correcting the spelling. Though it's of course likely a simple typo, it's not up to us to change things, merely to document what Lucasfilm has created. The best course of action would be to reflect the misspelling in the title and make note of it in the "Behind the scenes" section. Toprawa and Ralltiir (talk) 20:32, December 28, 2017 (UTC)

Hello T&R, I am having trouble voting on Mister and Miss Star Wars. When I hit the edit button to add my vote the screen does not look correct to me. Also, it says that I need to be a signed in member of the site which I am. I don't know if the editing has changed. I haven't edited anything in a while. User:2605:B100:F24E:6803:E846:506F:901D:702 and Stormtrooper (First Order)

Hello, can you take a look at Stormtrooper (First Order) please? The anonymous user keeps changing stormtroopers into ducktroopers, if I revert it again it'll only end with me breaking the 3RR rule as the user will keep changing it back, thank you --Lewisr (talk) 01:53, December 30, 2017 (UTC)

  • Hi, Lewis. Thank you for bringing this to my attention. The offender has been blocked. Please be aware that the 3RR rule does not apply to cases of simple vandalism, so you would not be blocked for exceeding the limit in this situation. But it's still better to bring the issue to an admin for them to handle it rather than going back and forth with reversions, so you did well. Thanks. Toprawa and Ralltiir (talk) 02:23, December 30, 2017 (UTC)
    • Thank you for looking into it, ah I thought it was for all situations but thanks for the heads up on that, but as you say it was better to bring it to an admin so thank you --Lewisr (talk) 02:28, December 30, 2017 (UTC)

Dictionary deletions

Hey, so I recently created several articles, a couple have been deleted on the dictionary clause. They were redlinks on Star Wars Propaganda: A History of Persuasive Art in the Galaxy, so I just went and created them as I'm in the process of eliminated redlinks for that book. Could you give it a look and see what else is part of the dictionary clause as there are many basic definitions. Thanks!--Vitus InfinitusTalk 04:09, December 31, 2017 (UTC)

  • Yes, I can do that. It looks like it's quite a long list, so it might not happen immediately. Toprawa and Ralltiir (talk) 04:11, December 31, 2017 (UTC)
    • That's fine, I'm in no rush! I just saw that colony was also deleted, I think that one should stay due to several in-universe examples and can be expanded upon, similar to why we're keeping Nose or Democracy. I have no problem if should stay deleted however, but just bringing it up, thanks!--Vitus InfinitusTalk 04:15, December 31, 2017 (UTC)

Is there any way?

Hello! I'm not sure if I should ask you too, as I already asked two other administrators: is there any way Spenpiano could be given another chance? He has a lot of useful information and images with good sources to upload, and will really try to be better. Here is what he said in response to when I asked him if he edited Wookieepedia: I use to. Those guys blocked me due to recent mistakes. I don't want to be their enemy, but I've been waiting patiently to see if I could be given a second chance. So could you please consider? Apologize

Hey Toprawa. I wanted to apologize with some of my comments in the Discord SH and previous forums, CT, talk pages, etc. I always had trouble expressing myself in english at the moment of giving my ideas or comments, It's has never been my intention to sound aggresive or out of line. And I had the same problems some months ago with the rebellion/Alliance forum with Brandon and now about the Discord, so I wanted to apologize in case anytime I commented it felt aggresive. Re:Untitled

I don't really see the harm in messaging someone on another wiki, but if you really have a problem with it I won't do so here. Did you really have to delete my messages though, so that 1. they don't receive the message, and 2. I'm unable to copy them first so that I can send them elsewhere? And why did you have to delete my own profile, that seems excessive. And not to mention you could have told me this wasn't allowed instead of deleting the messages and just leaving me confused as to what happened. Do you think you could undo your deletion so at the very least I can copy them first? Regardless I will not be using this wiki anymore to contact them. Remember Unidentified Imperial officer (Metalorn)? Probably not, but the objection that kicked down the road for too long was related to sourcing the comic's release year to 1979. Shadow trooper in SWFC

Hi Toprawa, I would like to ask you something for my GA nomination for shadow trooper. As you can read in the behind the scenes section, the Force Collection cards for the shadow trooper were initially labeled "Shadow Stormtrooper," its Legends counterpart. These were later changed to "shadow trooper," and I have uploaded the old cards (4S 5S) to the SWFC Wiki as well, but since the new ones should stay in the all cards list, I am undecided how I should handle the reference. For now, I have put a direct link to the image file as you can see. I am open to any suggestions from you. TanDivoInsignia-SenateMurders AnilSerifoglu (talk) 22:42, March 4, 2018 (UTC)

  • What you have for references 12 and 13 should be fine for now at least. SWFC Wiki would do a lot better to have individual articles for each card, which we could then link to for our citation templates rather than the master card list. We can set that up over there in the long run. Toprawa and Ralltiir (talk) 23:04, March 4, 2018 (UTC)

Fanon Image

--mjlmjl888 19:34, March 9, 2018 (UTC) In regards to the image, you called Fanon. I didn't consider it Fanon, it was just a picture of the person holding their lightsaber and it changing colors as it does in canon. I'm not sure you mistook it as Fanon or if it is actually considered Fanon. Unsigned comment by Mjlmjl888 (talk • contribs)

  • I'm well aware of what fanon is. For Wookieepedia's purposes, any fan creation that isn't from an official Lucasfilm outlet falls under our portmanteau term "fanon." You personally engineered that image as your own fan creation, which is not permitted here on Wookieepedia. Toprawa and Ralltiir (talk) 19:43, March 9, 2018 (UTC)

Barsen'thor

Hi! So, while resuming my work on Barsen'thor (Galactic War), I've had this sudden realization. Would it perhaps be a good idea to move the article to "The Barsen'thor," which looks much cleaner and shorter? Seeing as he's the most well-known of the Barsen'thors, anyway. There has been a similar precedent, in my opinion, with the Iteration, where the definite article was used to differentiate it from other Iterations. What's your opinion on this? QuiGonJinn Senate seal(Talk) 20:10, March 12, 2018 (UTC)

  • Well, the Naming policy provides a stipulation that allows certain articles to be named like that. You should consider whether, in fact, it's appropriate to do so (I have no knowledge on this article subject). Does any source material explicitly refer to him as "the Barsen'thor"? Toprawa and Ralltiir (talk) 20:36, March 12, 2018 (UTC)
    • Well, in SWTOR it seems like when speaking about him, other characters tend to use "the". Examples:
"You're the "Barsen'thor," the Warden of the Jedi Order, right?"
―Tai Cordan[src]
"Ladies and gentlemen of the Senate. I present the Barsen'thor of the Jedi Order, and defender of the Rift Alliance"
―Leontyne Saresh[src]
    • Howver, when another character addresses him directly, there is usually no definite article. Examples without "the":
"Barsen'thor. I'm glad to see you."
―Satele Shan[src]
"Ah! Barsen'thor! You know how long I've been meaning to find you?"
―Kutri O'a[src]
    • Seeing as the style of encyclopedic entry falls under the first category, I think that there is enough merit to justify the move, but I'm not 100% sure. QuiGonJinn Senate seal(Talk) 21:30, March 12, 2018 (UTC)
      • I don't believe examples of him being addressed without the definite article negate your case. For example, I'm pretty sure the Inquisitor is frequently just called "Inquisitor." Since he is referred to multiple times as "the Barsen'thor," and if you're comfortable with that being accurate, I see no reason why you shouldn't be able to move the article to that title. Toprawa and Ralltiir (talk) 22:12, March 12, 2018 (UTC)

Hi Toprawa, I would like to take your advice about a LinkedIn link that I used in my GA nomination for Wookiee Cookies—yes, seriously :) The Wayback Machine can't save it due to robots.txt and the WebCite link, which is currently used in the article, doesn't show the necessary parts of the web page at all. Same goes with the archive.is. I searched for a new web archive tool, but couldn't find anything that can be used in Wookieepedia. Do you have any suggestions? IP address block

Hey Tope, I'm encountering some issues. So I went to barnes and noble (as my house doesn't currently have WIFI) and I'm using their WIFI. Apparently during this time on the Wook I was logged out of Wook without knowing and made an edit. Later I tried to answer a question on FANDOM discussions and it said "Your username or IP address has been blocked The block was made by Toprawa and Ralltiir. Expiration of block: 12/31/1969, 7:00:00 PM Reason given: Anonymous public access: Wayport - Please log-in to edit." I think the IP address is 10.130.60.231. Anyway, I can edit on Wookieepedia but not in FANDOM discussions. Do you know what's happening? Thanks--Vitus InfinitusTalk 01:00, March 23, 2018 (UTC)

  • I also can't use my phone on data to participate in FANDOM discussions--Vitus InfinitusTalk 01:03, March 23, 2018 (UTC)
    • I'm afraid I really don't know. There's no block in place for that IP, nor does it even appear to be genuine, and the 1969 expiration date makes no sense at all. Blocks are uniform between the wiki and Discussions, meaning if something is blocked on one, it's blocked on the other, so I don't understand why you're able to edit the wiki but not Discussions. It's likely whatever public wifi IP you're editing from was originally blocked as part of a rangeblock in response to abuse from a public wifi source, which is fairly common and one reason why we don't recommend editing from public wifi. Since the issue seems to only prevent your activity on Discussions, I'm afraid it's pretty much beyond our purview, given that our administration by and large takes no role in managing Discussions. If this is a serious enough problem for you, I'd recommend asking Wikia for assistance. Toprawa and Ralltiir (talk) 04:26, March 23, 2018 (UTC)
      • Hey, I'm not having anymore problems on both the Wook and discussions, don't really know what happened. Thanks for the help!--Vitus InfinitusTalk 13:47, March 23, 2018 (UTC)

Sir. You have deleted my page.

Hello. You can call me RC-0407. I would like to know why you have deleted 'The First Order's capital defends fleet' page? I am aware that it wasn't perfect. But that can be fixed. So why did you delete it? Both the old and new republic has an page for their capital defends fleet. And double if you count legends. So in my opinion. 'The First Order's capital defends fleet' page deserves to be an thing. Ask by RC-0407 25/3 2018 Unsigned comment by RC-0407 (talk • contribs)

  • Your article was marked for deletion for being particularly low quality. I'm going to go out on a limb and guess that English isn't your first language. "First Order capital defends fleet" is not proper English and doesn't even make sense. If you can't put together a proper sentence in the English language, which seems to be a problem for you, judging from your contribution history, I can't in good conscience recommend you try to recreate this article, as it's likely going to be deleted again. Toprawa and Ralltiir (talk) 18:20, March 26, 2018 (UTC)
    • Well.... Give me 500 years, and will try to get better. I train each day. So hopefully you doesn't have to do this again. May the force, in others, be with you. And yes, I am no Englishman.Unsigned comment by RC-0407 (talk • contribs)
      • I don't appreciate your sarcasm. You asked me why your article was deleted, and I gave you an honest answer. This is the English-language Star Wars wiki. If you aren't fluent in English, you shouldn't expect to be able to fully contribute to our project, and likewise shouldn't be surprised when your contributions are deleted. I can't help it if that offends you. There's really nothing more to say here. Toprawa and Ralltiir (talk) 01:18, March 29, 2018 (UTC)

I'm Not in Trouble, am I?

I posted 3 images from a photobucket account but I didn't know Wookieepedia does not allow photobucket as a source. I won't get in any kind of trouble, will I? 8:08 PM; March 26, 2018; Ghost of LucasArts Unsigned comment by Ghost of LucasArts (talk • contribs)

RE:Creating OOU articles

Hey, sorry about that, first time I made an OOU article, I should've reviewed the layout guide prior to making them and I'm having trouble finding verifiable information on these authors--Vitus InfinitusTalk 19:55, March 31, 2018 (UTC)

  • Thats the trouble I'm having. I can't find official information besides things in Jedi-bibliothek, and Spahn's website doesn't mention any Star Wars work. Those three Star Wars roleplaying books are all I could find for Spahn--Vitus InfinitusTalk 20:05, March 31, 2018 (UTC)
    • Which I found on Google Plus--Vitus InfinitusTalk 20:06, March 31, 2018 (UTC)
      • Do I populate the bibliography with non-Star Wars work? There's quite a bit I can add--Vitus InfinitusTalk 20:08, March 31, 2018 (UTC)
        • No, like I said, the Bibliography is the equivalent of an in-universe article's Sources list. The Sources list lists official source material; the Bibliography should do the same. For Spahn, he is credited in Dawn of Rebellion, so that's what you list in his Bibliography. It's ok if there's only one item there. That's all you need to create an article, anyways. Toprawa and Ralltiir (talk) 20:15, March 31, 2018 (UTC)
          • Alright, I think I'm beginning to understand. So what's the purpose of the verify template if there are items in the bibliography section? What can I do to remove the template and resolve these issues?--Vitus InfinitusTalk 20:19, March 31, 2018 (UTC)
            • In the Spahn article, rename the section to just "Bibliography" to comply with the OOU; remove "contributing author," and move his blog link to the External links. Treat it exactly like the Sources list in an in-universe article. Toprawa and Ralltiir (talk) 20:22, March 31, 2018 (UTC)

Jaxxon

Hello there, Tope! Do you think you could remove the protection you put that prevents users from creating the Jaxxon page? We now know that he's going to appear in "The Eggs of Livorno," which Cavan Scott has repeatedly described as canon. (And yes, I confess I'd love to create said article myself.) Cheers! --Lelal Mekha The Uprising crest (Audience Room) 19:18, April 5, 2018 (UTC)

Think you could help me out?

Er, not sure if this is really the proper place to be putting this, but I requested an edit regarding adding a new image (I am unable to upload, as per my edit count) on a talk page but it seems it was buried in the recent changes. I've edited other wikis before, but I just have to get acquainted with the way this one is ran :P

As pedantic as it may be, if you could help me out here that would be greatly appreciated.

Cheers, Les (talk) 14:40, April 10, 2018 (UTC)

Garrisons

Hi Toprawa, Are saying that Garrisons should still be included in Category:Imperial military bases even though they have their own sub-category? Because when I tried to add Sanctuary to Category:Alliance to restore the Republic-aligned planets Lewisr overruled me on the grounds that it was already in sub-category Category:Safe worlds. Unsigned comment by Swathingkhan (talk • contribs)

  • I'm not sure what you mean. Category:Garrisons is a subcategory of Category:Imperial military bases, so an article doesn't need to have both categories. Category:Garrisons does not have a subcategory. Toprawa and Ralltiir (talk) 20:23, April 13, 2018 (UTC)

Question about consensuses

I opened a discussion about the infobox picture for the Mirror cave, because the current picture is merely a close-up which doesn't reveal much, but one single user insisted on using it. It's been four days and only two people have chimed in, but so far, the consensus is leaning toward an alternate picture, which I suggested. What are Wookieepedia's rules for consensuses? How long does a discussion need to be open? Is there a rule for how many people who need to participate? --You don't have to be crazy to hang out with me. I'll train you. –Nightlily 20:23, April 25, 2018 (UTC)

  • I believe the answers to all of your questions can be found here: Wookieepedia:Consensus. But for consensus to formally be reached on a talk page, an actual vote needs to be held, such as was done here. Toprawa and Ralltiir (talk) 20:38, April 25, 2018 (UTC)
    • I see. But is there a point in holding a vote over an infobox picture when only one single user wants to keep the old one...? --You don't have to be crazy to hang out with me. I'll train you. –Nightlily 18:49, April 28, 2018 (UTC)
      • There's technically no requirement to hold a vote. But in the absence of consensus, there's also no legal foundation to prevent that user from reverting you if you do change the image. The point of establishing a consensus is that no one can reverse a consensus-backed decision without a new consensus to overturn the original decision. It's pretty much up to you how you want to proceed at this point -- you can change the image, but you might also get reverted, fair warning. Toprawa and Ralltiir (talk) 18:52, April 28, 2018 (UTC)
        • Okay. I also have another question: How do I go about to suggest changes to policies? Wookieepedia's current image policy favors jpg for photographic images and images with over 256 colors, but every person who works with pictures knows that png is far superior to jpg... Someone also told me that as this policy was written over a decade ago (although I don't know if it's true). So the rule should be changed. --You don't have to be crazy to hang out with me. I'll train you. –Nightlily 18:49, April 28, 2018 (UTC)
          • The best place to suggest policy changes is in the Senate Hall. Toprawa and Ralltiir (talk) 19:01, April 28, 2018 (UTC)
            • Thanks, I've done that. As for voting: So far, four people (myself included) have voiced their support for the image I suggested. If I open a vote, do these people need to voice their opinion again, or do they already count as votes? --You don't have to be crazy to hang out with me. I'll train you. –Nightlily 21:50, April 28, 2018 (UTC)
              • You would need to start a formal vote in a new format, and they would need to formally cast their vote for the official record. Toprawa and Ralltiir (talk) 21:53, April 28, 2018 (UTC)

Hi again. It's been nine days and so far, seven people have voted yes, while no one has voted no. However, according to the rules, ten votes are needed in order to call it a consensus and there is also a time frame of two weeks... Is it frowned upon on this wiki to ask (on the talk page) if more users are willing to vote? I've never done this before, so I don't know the etiquette. --You don't have to be crazy to hang out with me. I'll train you. –Nightlily 12:00, May 8, 2018 (UTC)

  • We call that "vote farming," and yes, it is considered bad form. If you want to try and raise awareness for the vote, I would suggest spending more time in general on our IRC channel, where one can bring up things like this for discussion without spamming people's talk pages. Toprawa and Ralltiir (talk) 17:30, May 8, 2018 (UTC)

Help creating pages

Hi Toprawa and Ralltiir,

I have a question about creating pages, specifically with sources and templates. I am trying to get better at adding proper sourcing, as well as templates to my articles, but many times I have been blocked from doing so because my "edit was blocked by an extension hook" (paraphrasing). It seems to be a problem specifically with the templates, because once I delete them I am able to save the page without problems. I do not know if this is an issue on my end or not, but it really makes it hard to even say that the page I'm creating need sources. Further, I tried to add the "Galactic Empire/preload" infobox to the page PB-106, and it looked alright before I saved the page, but when it was completed, the infobox had no information. Can I get some help on this?

Thank you,

7.1 New message

Hey, Tope. I know it's not high on a list of things important in life, but just wanted to let you know that I have been repairing the swpocketmodels.com website. A couple of features crashed a few years ago when the host moved to a new server, but the gallery of ships and vehicles still worked. Meanwhile, I've been taking a break here while doing research, so I didn't have a lot of time to sit down and fix my website until recently. I'm still lurking here, but I only just saw that our website was not listed on the Friends list on the front page. Things having been broken, that's to be expected. However, I didn't see any formal removal after it was earlier approved. If I recall, I don't think I ever saw PocketModels listed as a Friend even after it was supported in the voting process. I'd still love to promote the Wook and have a connection here, but if it's not feasible, that's okay. I know we don't have many connected with us on our Facebook page (456 currently following) and the forums only were just brought back online. However, I am working with a couple of people to draw more interest which looks promising. On the one hand, it will probably take time to get our membership up. On the other hand, Star Wars seems to now be a regular yearly tent pole project that will continue to pull more fans to the franchise. In any case, if we can stay a Friend, it'd be nice to have our name where it should be if that's the case. If not, then it ought to be properly voted for removal, right? Can you look into it and let me know? —GethralkinHyperwave 18:26, May 17, 2018 (UTC)

  • Your website was removed from the Official Friends list per community vote at the March 2016 Mofference. Toprawa and Ralltiir (talk) 01:58, May 18, 2018 (UTC)
    • Yes, as much as I would have liked to have had our sites continue to be associated with each other, I would also have agreed to remove it if I were in on that vote. Our databases were going through serious problems that I am still trying to get ironed out. I just didn't see where that removal info was posted, so I was wondering. Thank you so much for the update! —GethralkinHyperwave 06:31, May 31, 2018 (UTC)

The Category only had two pages in it so I didn't think there was any need for it. It's not the first underpopulated category to be deleted. Re:Infoboxes

Hi. I just noticed your messages. But I'm curious what you mean by "proper HTML". Templates (such as infoboxes) are just like article names in mediawiki, right? - Esjs (Talk to me) 16:06, July 2, 2018 (UTC)

  • Please, I really would like to understand. I see no technical reason why leaving the underscore is necessary and without an explanation of why, your "don't do it because I said so" admonishment comes across as very arbitrary. - Esjs (Talk to me) 16:17, July 2, 2018 (UTC)
  • OK. Historical convention is valid enough. I think it should be stated explicitly in Wookieepedia:Layout_Guide#Infobox so somebody like me doesn't make the same mistake in the future. Hey there! What would you say if I were to suggest a category titled either "Geonosis strike team members," or "Jedi assault team members?" • "I am hoping to create articles for many of the Jedi on Geonosis." Please don't. We've already deleted several of them through the Trash compactor process. Why?

Sir. Could you kindly proved a reason for deleting the Armored division of the Galactic Empire page. RC-0407 (talk)

  • Your article, "Armored Divisions of the Galactic Empire," is unnecessary in its title and approach. We don't need a conjectural article listing the different Imperial armored units, nor is that how we cover topics. Just put that in the Imperial Army article. Toprawa and Ralltiir (talk) 18:19, July 27, 2018 (UTC)
    • Really? So you suggests that we make a "sub-page" of the imperial army page. Hmm? You may have a point. But that would take up to much space. Do you know how many hundreds of unnecessary sentences we had about each type of military units, on the imperial army/legends page. Do you know what the editers did about? They removed most of it and put in links to the pages that said the exact same thing.! That's why we have an page for each legends type of imperial battalion. So why is this different? And what is this hated for lists? We both know that these articles is about information. So what is it?. One last thing, before I end this massege. Would it kill you to save some of the data, before deleting the entire thing. Or put the sign that says (Marked for the deleting), or something. Hey. Darth Kwiatkowski, whom I know from Biblioteka Ossus, where he's got kind of a moderator right, has been banned. By Discord, he wrote to me that any messages were not shown to him. I believe it may be true, because Biblioteka Ossus, which is not hosted on FANDOM, has a little different way to show messages.

When he realized he had been banned, he tried to contact you by sending an email. He didn't know this option had been removed from FANDOM, though. That is why he asked me to give you his email, which follows here: kwiatkowskinorbert0@gmail.com

I believe there exists a way you could both talk about what has happened. He's even told me he just doesn't need to edit Wookieepedia, but he wishes there weren't any interlang links to add while he's banned.

I'm sorry if what I'm writing is considered as spam. I just wanted to help Darth Kwiatkowski, who doesn't know the sytem of FANDOM so much, at least as much as I do.

WookieeProject: Battlefront

Hi Toprawa, I have been digging into Battlefront stuff lately (like my shadow trooper nom), and I believe almost all the future articles I want to improve are one way or another related to those games (both old and new ones). I'm considering starting a WookieeProject: Battlefront in order to organize people for larger articles such as Iden Versio. I have looked into a lot of the past WookieeProjects to get a sense of how those coordinations work and I have prepared a project page for my proposed WookieeProject. I wanted to take the advice of an experienced Wookieepedian before I give it a go and I'd be very glad if you could possibly have time to take a look. Death Watch armor

Well, i just saw the legends article and i thought since there were articles on the Nite Owl helmet, I thought it would be okay to do this article since i do not recall Nite owl being used in any canon sources except maybe in the Encylopedia. If it has to be deleted, so be it. I just thought since every group unless they are a clan, should corespond with legend articles despite not being labeled as such. Sorry for the inconvenience.CC-1990 (talk) 23:51, August 3, 2018 (UTC)

Re:Referencing

Just wanted to say thanks for calling my attention to that, I'll end up updating a lot of my old article Bts' so it's good to have that issue nipped in the bud, since I probably would have continued to forget. Commander Code-8 Hello There! 02:22, August 13, 2018 (UTC)

Character infobox

Hey, just a suggestion - I think you should add Eternal Empire color scheme to the Character infobox. This is what we use on Russian Wookiepedia, if you are interested -- OBI WAN KENOBI File:SithEmblemTOR.png|20px CONTACT 13:52, August 18, 2018 (UTC)

  • Hi, thanks for the suggestion. I'm not totally familiar with TOR stuff, and our character infoboxes are idiotically set up in Lua, which like one person on Wookieepedia knows how to work with, so this is beyond me. I would suggest you bring this issue up in the Senate Hall. Thanks again. Toprawa and Ralltiir (talk) 14:49, August 18, 2018 (UTC)

Quick question

I'd ask this on IRC but it's not letting me join for some reason. When doing a word count of an article for a nomination, are the words inside a reference counted? And how about words in a link like for example [[Alliance to Restore the Republic|Rebel Alliance]]? Thanks!--Vitus InfinitusTalk 01:42, August 20, 2018 (UTC)

  • No to both. It's just the words from the Intro, article body, and BTS as they appear in normal page view. No infobox, no quote attributions, no image captions, etc. Toprawa and Ralltiir (talk) 01:53, August 20, 2018 (UTC)
    • Alright thought so, thanks! Independence underwent an expansion and so will Defiance so can you remove those two comprehensive nominations so I can move forward with a good article nom? Thank you!--Vitus InfinitusTalk 21:40, August 20, 2018 (UTC)

Padme Amidala's wardrobe

My article Padmé Amidala's wardrobe, should it just be simply labeled Amidala's wardrobe or Queen's wardrobe? The only name i got was the Queen's wardrobe from Star Wars: Episode I. I thought the name was ok but maybe it should be just Amidala's wardrobe or even Queen's wardrobe?CC-1990 (talk) 17:07, August 21, 2018 (UTC)

Astromech sensor color

Hi Toprawa, I am preparing to nominate C2-B5 fo GA status, and I have a quick question for you. C2's sensor color is red in most of the images, and light blue in others, just like R2-D2. Yet both canon and Legends versions of R2-D2 only mention the red color. Am I missing something? TanDivoInsignia-SenateMurders Anıl Şerifoğlu (talk) 23:46, August 21, 2018 (UTC)

  • It seems R2's sensor is red the majority of the time but can alternatively change blue when he's doing stuff, as if red is the default state. I imagine it's the same with this droid. Assuming no source actually states CT's sensor color, I would look at what color he's shown displaying in the majority of sources and state that one. The Cane

Hi Toprawa and Ralltiir,

I wanted to ask you why you have put a deleting template in my article about the cane?

I swear that Emperor Palpatine used a cane in Episode VI and used it to walk. Windham's junior novle confirms it too :) Unsigned comment by X9 The Android (talk • contribs)

The Newspaper Strips Vol. 1

I know there isn't a Vol. 2 yet but shouldn't that category be brought back for when the day does come?--Rgilbert27 (talk) 00:37, August 29, 2018 (UTC)

  • We try not to create single-item categories, so there's really no reason to create that category until we have confirmation that there's definitely going to be a Volume 2. The title of Volume 1 suggests there will be, but there's been no word yet. Toprawa and Ralltiir (talk) 00:38, August 29, 2018 (UTC)

Yes but those other categories you've been deleting let other visitors know what series makeup those TPBs.--Rgilbert27 (talk) 00:51, August 29, 2018 (UTC)

But visitors still need to know what series makeup those collections if not category then what navibox?--Rgilbert27 (talk) 01:00, August 29, 2018 (UTC)

  • I submit to you that not every minor detail necessarily requires categorization. Sometimes the main article itself is sufficient, via any number of methods. Toprawa and Ralltiir (talk) 01:09, August 29, 2018 (UTC)

It took a lot of hours to find out what series were in those TPBs users should know there's more than one TPB for each of those series.--Rgilbert27 (talk) 01:25, August 29, 2018 (UTC)
