LINE webtoon articles

I have a question regarding the Star Wars webtoon comic:

Are articles such as Unidentified stormtrooper (Mos Eisley), Unidentified pointy-eared alien species and others—which would be exclusively based on information from the comic—allowed? If so, should the page be a canon page, with a mention of the "grey area" thing in the Bts? Geek'ari Talk 02:37, July 15, 2016 (UTC)

  • As a sidenote, I wrote a draft of "Unidentified stormtrooper (Mos Eisley)" in my workbench. Geek'ari Talk 14:17, July 15, 2016 (UTC)
  • The articles are allowed as long as they meet our notability requirements. And Jennifer Heddle says they're canon, except where they're not. If you want a more in-depth discussion on writing/wording specifics, I would suggest coming on IRC. Toprawa and Ralltiir (talk) 19:26, July 18, 2016 (UTC)
    • OK, then, I'll create it. Also I submitted an idea on SH for a template to add to the top of such pages. Thanks for your reply! Geek'ari Talk 22:46, July 18, 2016 (UTC)

Early rebellion against the galactic empire

I do not understand why you deleted this page. It is no different than Lothal insurgency, chronicling the conflict between the early rebellion and the Empire, but is in no way simply a history of the rebellion, like Lothal insurgency is not a history of the Lothal rebels.--D9328 (talk) 17:07, July 19, 2016 (UTC)d9328

  • I deleted the page because it's the same as the rebellion, which itself is an article covering the "loose network of rebel cells that operated across the galaxy in opposition to the rule of the Galactic Empire several years prior to the Battle of Yavin." What you're in effect writing is the History section of that page. There's no reason why we need to have two separate articles. Toprawa and Ralltiir (talk) 17:55, July 19, 2016 (UTC)
    • First off, I get your point, but I still say that it is no more the history page of the early rebellion than the first order-resistance conflict page is a history of either of those organizations. Second off, why did you delete the page without placing a delete template there first? Last I checked, the deletion policy said nothing about deleting articles right off the bat, and even obvious fanon articles have that template put there before deletion. --D9328 (talk) 00:18, July 30, 2016 (UTC)d9328

How long?

Does the unnecessary warning remain? It makes me look bad for simply trying to contribute when not given a reason for its invalidity for several edit attempts. QHRvRICdalurIA (talk) 19:10, July 23, 2016 (UTC)

  • I don't issue unnecessary warnings, so I'm afraid you'll have to be more specific. As for our 3RR rule, that applies in perpetuity site-wide. Users can and will be blocked for violating the spirit of the rule, if not three literal reversions, which certainly applies to you, in my estimation. Since you are an administrator, could you please do something about CreeperReaper65? Even now, he (or she) is continuing to edit war at List of books with non-constructive edits despite now having been reverted by three different users over the span of a week, and despite having received at least two warnings. The user doesn't seem to have any interest in collaborating and isn't showing any signs of stopping his/her behaviour anytime soon. DarkKnight2149 02:35, July 27, 2016 (UTC)

Question

Hey! I'm trying to edit a page and "Error: The modification you tried to make was aborted by an extension hook" keeps popping up. Can you help? --DarthAnt66 Unsigned comment by DarthAnt66 (talk • contribs)

  • I have no idea. What edit were you trying to make on which page? Toprawa and Ralltiir (talk) 22:56, August 7, 2016 (UTC)
  • On the Revan page, I was working on revamping the general summary seen at the top of it (I previously rewrote the Combat Abilities, Powers and Abilities, and other sections without incident). I wrote it out in a .doc and then transferred it to the page. I then added all the appropriate hyperlinks and hit save, but the error continued to pop up. I suspect it's not registering because it thinks my copy-and-paste might be spam or a bot. Any suggestions? DarthAnt66 (talk) 06:49, August 8, 2016 (UTC)DarthAnt66
    • I'm not sure, but I would imagine it has something to do with you trying to transfer Word content into a wiki page. Word has different characters (the Microsoft apostrophe, for example) that might not work right on here. I'd suggest just rewriting everything fresh into the article and saving it. Move

I understand; stew has been moved to make way for a character named Stew, which, if I understand our naming policy has priority over food. - AV-6R7Crew Pit 01:43, August 24, 2016 (UTC)

  • While this character had a minor role in his single episode of TCW, he has appeared in a novelization of such episode, under a different name no less, and in several sources, as well as several spoken lines, though minor nonetheless. This article could also find a home at Stew (clone gunner), though I doubt people search for stew the food very often. - AV-6R7Crew Pit 01:53, August 24, 2016 (UTC)
    • Of course; I will defer to your opinion and revert my prior edits. Could you revert my page move? - AV-6R7Crew Pit 02:04, August 24, 2016 (UTC)
      • "Experience outranks everything"; not, about another matter. I've just moved Fury to Stew (clone tank gunner), as, according to Leeland Chee, the latter was the character's intended name. What should we do with the Fury redirect? - AV-6R7Crew Pit 02:08, August 24, 2016 (UTC)
        • I am currently amending the Legends page and working on the canon page, which will be "Stew (clone gunner)". - AV-6R7Crew Pit 02:10, August 24, 2016 (UTC)

Imperial Communications Center

This is a simple case of notability. One subject (Currently at Main communications tower, but should be at Imperial Communications Center) is a prominent set piece in the three-part finale of SWR's first season and goes on to be mentioned in several more sources, while the other (Imperial Communications Center (Iyuta)) only appears in an obscure, WEG-era campaign pack. Apology offered

Tope, I'd like to apologize about my tone earlier. Of course, this is no excuse, but I've been strained these last few days, and tend to take things personally when I should not. Guess I'll have to keep my reactions in check in the future. (Now, although I'm not heck-bound on changing your mind, there's one last point I'd like to you: the Databank's entry for Endor specifies that: "The first celebration of the Emperor's downfall took place not in the soaring halls of Coruscant, but under the stars among the ancient trees of Endor." Doesn't that make it worthy of an article? If not, it doesn't matter, I'll work on an aftermath section of the Battle of Endor, as you suggested.) --LelalMekha (talk) 22:46, September 13, 2016 (UTC)

Discussion Category Changes

We are on the verge of a big influx of new members with the premiere of Rebels this coming Saturday. The hype alone has already seen plenty of new users post in the Discussion forums. Because of this, I feel that it's incredibly important for the changes to be implemented ASAP. It's also important for the existing community to get used to the changes by the time when Rogue One comes out. When the community is familiar with the reasoning for the changes, they will also help with new members down the road. I've already posted my recommendations for the new categories on the Administers' Noticeboard. Any help in pushing this forward would be greatly appreciated. The list can be found in this post: http://starwars.wikia.com/wiki/Forum:NB:%27Categories%27_for_the_Discussion_Forums?t=20160914203135 --ChristopherLeeGallant (talk) 20:54, September 19, 2016 (UTC)

RE: Interlang formattin

First of all, sorry for not anwesing earlier, I didn't notice the message. Most of the time, when I put intelinks, I just insert the template with the visual creator, thus the formating like this. But I'll try to pay attention to this matter. --Totus Ossus (talk) 10:11, September 28, 2016 (UTC)

The spaces are added automaticali while adding interlang link using visual creator (check by Yourself, and if I'm not right, I may be doing something wrong). While adding new interlang template and editing the source for proper formatting is more or less normal, adding new link with visual and then deleting the spaces is pointless, don't you think? --Totus Ossus (talk) 18:06, September 29, 2016 (UTC)
I get it. But, anyway, you should look to it, because I won't be the last with this issue. Visual Editor is just more convenient if you only want to add new interwiki. Those spaces should be deleted from the pre-made template loaded to the editor (hope you understand what I'm talking about, English is not my native and it has been some time since I need to wrote something in this language). As I don't even know whom I should report that, I leave it upto you. --Totus Ossus (talk) 18:19, September 29, 2016 (UTC)

Troll

Hello, Toprawa and Ralltiir. [user] posted a copypasta onto my talk page a few minutes ago; which would be weird, if this was the first case. This is a troll who has been trolling on a variety of wikis in similar ways, which has been focused on me due to my admin work on another wiki. He's evidently followed me here; if that's the case he'll likely troll in more consequential ways. Unfortunately he makes use of a VPN, so there isn't any permanent way to block him; but I advise that this IP and any sockpuppets be banned. Of course your course of action is up to you, but as someone who has fought this troll for nearly two years now I thought I'd give some advice. -Gen. Image renaming request for a test

Tope, I have a quick request. Wikia image servers are being completely [redacted by administration]. Supposedly they can handle image files up to 10 MB, but that is definitely not the case. I have a bug report in on it. When I've been trying to upload larger versions of some images, it is uploading with a thumbnail error and only showing a grey box for the thumbnail, even though the image itself did upload. Case in point File:SlaveI-SWE.png. In the past, when a thumbnail wouldn't refresh in the wikia image cache, it could be forced to update when an admin moved the file to a different name. I wonder if the same trick might work in this case. Can you give it a try before I revert the image? Thanks. - JMAS Jolly Trooper Hey, it's me! 03:15, November 9, 2016 (UTC)

  • Doesn't seem to have worked. I would suggest just uploading it under a new file name and we can delete the old one. Toprawa and Ralltiir (talk) 03:20, November 9, 2016 (UTC)
    • Thanks for trying. When this bug has popped up on the past, I did try reuploading with a different file name, but the same thing happened with the new image. It seems to only affect PNG images, but I can't narrow down if it has something to do with the file size, or the dimensions or what. - JMAS Jolly Trooper Hey, it's me! 03:21, November 9, 2016 (UTC)
      • See, I shrunk the image down a little bit and now it worked fine. - JMAS Jolly Trooper Hey, it's me! 03:24, November 9, 2016 (UTC)
        • Yeah, that's weird. I have no idea. Toprawa and Ralltiir (talk) 03:26, November 9, 2016 (UTC)
          • In case you wanted to be kept in the loop: WWikia at least got back to me quickly. It's not so much a bug as it is server limits. Currently the servers can accommodate a file size up to 10MB and 12,500,000 megapixels. They are working to increase that megapixel limit. At least now I have the equation to figure out if the servers can handle the upload. - JMAS Jolly Trooper Hey, it's me! 00:48, November 10, 2016 (UTC)

    • Is the Revan article free for editing? That is, could I nom it for FAs?—Jedi Kasra ("Indeed.") 20:25, February 15, 2017 (UTC)
      • I mean, yes, you can, but you shouldn't nominate it thinking it's just going to be a breeze through the nomination process. The Inq killed its previous nom because it had undergone major unchecked revisions during the reviewing stage that were never addressed. If you do nominate it again, you should be prepared for a completely fresh review through the entire article. I'm going to remind the Inqs who did vote on the nomination of this and encourage them to review it again fresh for this reason. Toprawa and Ralltiir (talk) 02:57, February 16, 2017 (UTC)

Obviously I don't expecty it to just pass in a flash... I'll take a look at the past objections, spend time preparing it, and then I'll nom it.—Jedi Kasra ("Indeed.") 11:01, February 16, 2017 (UTC)

  • That's actually kind of what I mean... the primary issue for its removal is not reflected in any objections made on the nomination page. As I said, large amounts of text were completely overhauled and rewritten, and were not approved by any review, including those users who had already voted in support of the nomination. If this had been a current FA, this probably would have been a REDUX situation. If you plan on renominating the article, you should expect a completely fresh review from top to bottom. And considering that this is the single-largest article on Wookieepedia at present, that's going to take some time — the previous nomination sat on the FAN page for three years because the article is so enormous. Frankly speaking, Kasra, I'm not sure you fully appreciate the scope of what lies ahead of you, and I'm not sure your intermittent activity is really suited to take this on. That's just me being straight with you. Toprawa and Ralltiir (talk) 11:45, February 16, 2017 (UTC)
    • I understand. I don't recall any of my past nominations, outside of CAs, being short endeavors, especially Malak, and I'm in a position where I have the time and energy to do it. My job gives me access to a computer, and I'll be getting my own pc shortly. So I do know I'm in for a really long haul. But I'm not planning on nominating it anytime soon… I still have to get used to the swing of things. Are there any new policies I should be aware of?—Jedi Kasra ("Indeed.") 13:08, February 16, 2017 (UTC)

Apologies

Hi Toprawa and Ralltiir,

My apologies for debacle concerning the Consensus Track discussion on LBGT categories and articles in the Stars Wars. Sorry, I was out attending an event at a church and wasn't able to respond to your feedback. I had a think about the issue over the evening. I misjudged the situation and did not realize we had not yet reached a consensus. It was premature of me to move it to Consensus Track level. I think we sometimes have good intentions but end up creating a mess. I take this as a lesson to focus on my strengths as a contributor. I agree that you were right that Wookieepedia as a community has not reached a consensus on the issue of LBGT categories and characters. Let's put this issue behind us and work together to making Wookieepedia a happy space. Would like to return to working on Star Wars Rebels and The Aftermath Trilogy. I appreciate your robust and frank criticism. May the Force be with you. Andykatib 10:23, March 3, 2017 (UTC)

  • Well, you don't need to apologize. I think you just got a little ahead of yourself. Creating a CT forum is nothing that should be taken lightly, since it could define Wookieepedia site policy for generations. And if you don't have much experience creating one, I would definitely recommend at least getting feedback from others who do first (creating a draft on a work page would be a good idea). Since the issues being debated with regards to this forum are of a particularly sensitive nature, I wasn't willing to let this get way out of hand. At this point, I would just suggest returning to the SH forum to continue to discuss the matter if you're still interested in it. Thanks. Toprawa and Ralltiir (talk) 10:29, March 3, 2017 (UTC)
    • Thanks very much for your advice. Might return to the SH Forum. But, I think I will first update the Ezra Bridger and the Arihnda Pryce articles before the next Rebels episode comes out on Saturday (Sunday NZ time). Will also expand the Eleodie Maracavanya article. Kind regards. Andykatib 10:46, March 3, 2017 (UTC)

FFG and Canon

Hey Tope, I'm hoping you can clear something up for me regarding FFG content canonicity in regards to Rebels material. Case in point, the Fang fighter. Since FFG released the Protectorate Starfighter Expansion Pack after the fighter was introduced in Season Two of Rebels, doesn't that make the FFG material also canon? - JMAS Jolly Trooper Hey, it's me! 07:59, March 19, 2017 (UTC)

  • I would say it makes that specific expansion pack Canon. If something FFG hasn't already been re-canonized, we're treating it as Legends. Example, the Punishing One Expansion Pack, which was released in March 2016. The Punishing One doesn't appear in any Canon material AFAIK, so we're keeping that expansion pack Legends. Toprawa and Ralltiir (talk) 02:39, March 20, 2017 (UTC)
    • Would the best course of action then be to merge the current Legends information into the Canon side, then delete the Legends page, or should both be kept? Everything on the Legends side of it is from the the expansion pack. - JMAS Jolly Trooper Hey, it's me! 03:22, March 20, 2017 (UTC)
      • If you ensure all relevant information is merged into the Canon article, I'll just CSD the Legends page. Toprawa and Ralltiir (talk) 03:28, March 20, 2017 (UTC)
        • I'll take care of it, likely will be tomorrow. It's been a long weekend. I'll mark the Legends page as CSD once I'm done. - JMAS Jolly Trooper Hey, it's me! 03:42, March 20, 2017 (UTC)
        • Decided not to wait. It's ready for deletion. - JMAS Jolly Trooper Hey, it's me! 04:34, March 20, 2017 (UTC)

Start of Page Header Test

Hey Toprawa and Ralltiir!

The next stage of our Wiki Modernization project is to test the page and article headers, which you can read about here. We'll begin running this test on Thursday this week.

Like we said in the blog, here's what we'll be looking at in the test:

How do readers interact with the new headers? We'll look at the number of clicks on header links, as well as how many people use the new headers vs the old ones. What do editors think of the new design? We'll gather feedback and interaction data from you, ask follow-up questions, and do our best to understand your needs. We want a design that works well for everyone.

We want help from you and your community in figuring out if we got it right or what potential areas for improvement might be. Feel free to comment on both the reader and editor side of the header designs. We especially want to know what you think as an editor. Please leave any feedback for me here on this thread.

You are also welcome to share this information with your community, that way they are aware of the changes that have been made. Springteufel (talk) 20:04, March 20, 2017 (UTC)

300 BBY and 1 ABY

Could you move the Legends contents of 300 BBY and 1 ABY to "/Legends" pages and the content of the "/Canon" pages to the main ones? Also, need help with the redirects. --Nostalgia of Iran (talk) 03:04, April 3, 2017 (UTC)

  • There are literally more than 1,000 links that need to be updated in order to properly move these articles. I don't have a bot to do that, and I'm not going to do all of that work manually. You are just as capable as I am of completing this work. If you feel like fixing the links, I'll move the articles when you're finished. Toprawa and Ralltiir (talk) 03:33, April 3, 2017 (UTC)
    • The links to 300 BBY and 300 BBY/Legends are sorted out. --Nostalgia of Iran (talk) 12:39, April 3, 2017 (UTC)

Eraicon template

Hi,

I copied the Eraicon template over to a couple of the wikis which I'm an admin on, and they work perfectly. I've been able to customise them to fit the look/needs of those wikis. However, I can't seem to figure out how to make a new icon. I've tried adding one onto the templates, and it should be working like the others but for some reason it doesn't show up. The css and js are updated as far as I know.

Hi

Hello. You might remember me as the user who got a bit stupid some day, I think some edit dispute over a Kotor character or something. I would very much like the warning removed from my talk page, as it could potentially give me a bad image for the future and anyone who sees it, but there's evidently a policy against removing talk page posts, for whatever reason. So with that in mind, I request you delete this account. I'd rather just start with a completely clean slate, since I haven't done much as of yet anyways, partially dissuaded from editing as a result of the talk page warning. Thank you. QHRvRICdalurIA (talk) 21:49, July 18, 2017 (UTC)

  • One option you have is archiving your talk page so that previous messages are not front and center. Archiving instructions can be found here. If you don't want to do that, you're welcome to register and edit under a new username, but understand that doing so cannot be used as a means of creating a new identity, which falls under our Sock puppet policy. You will still be responsible for your previous edit history under your former username. Toprawa and Ralltiir (talk) 22:44, July 18, 2017 (UTC)
    • I know, and I acknowledge and take responsibility for having been a bit of an ass. Well, guess I'll mull it over. Thanks for answering, T&R. Probably just end up going with that second suggestion. QHRvRICdalurIA (talk) 22:50, July 18, 2017 (UTC)
      • If you choose to take on a new username, you can just have Wikia change your username for you (I believe it's a one-time-only thing) rather than creating a new account. Toprawa and Ralltiir (talk) 23:00, July 18, 2017 (UTC)

Ki-Adi-Mundi lightsaber

I left this message in Cade's talk page but his last edit was on May so I want to try to contact another admin just in case.

Hi, I was about to create the article for Ki-Adi-Mundi's lightsaber when I saw that it was CSD before by notability a year ago and that the page was left protected. There're other lightsabers that are less notable than Mundi's lightsaber. Example Eeth Koth's lightsaber/Canon, Adi Gallia's lightsaber, Plo Koon's lightsaber/Canon, etc. Any reason this is different?. The saber has been referenced in the Star Wars: The Visual Encyclopedia and made an appearance in SW Rebels making it more notable than the others. Hope you can answer thanks--DarthRuiz30 (talk) 01:55, July 21, 2017 (UTC)

  • To answer your question, I would interpret any New Canon conjectural lightsaber article from the films to fall under the "New canon subjects" clause of the Notability policy, which prevents the creation of such articles until they are given a non-conjectural name in New Canon. Assuming "Ki-Adi-Mundi's lightsaber" is conjectural in New Canon, it should not be created, nor should any of these other articles you reference, assuming they are likewise conjectural. Toprawa and Ralltiir (talk) 00:21, July 22, 2017 (UTC)
    • All of the them are conjectural like any other lightsaber. If its like this then all those sabers should be deleted or the permission to create a new one and continue what's already started--DarthRuiz30 (talk) 00:25, July 22, 2017 (UTC)
      • If you wish to see these articles prosecuted, you're welcome to add the {{Notability}} template to all of them, which will result in their deletion after seven days of unproven notability. Toprawa and Ralltiir (talk) 00:29, July 22, 2017 (UTC)
        • I wouldn't like to see them gone, but if there's a policy about notability then it should be. Thanks--DarthRuiz30 (talk) 00:31, July 22, 2017 (UTC)

Young-reader and junior being the same?

You sure? Young Readers books are for ages 6-8 and middle-grade books for 8-12.--ZapikCZ (talk) 18:34, August 8, 2017 (UTC)

  • Using the Disney Publishing categorization system, a junior novel can fall into either the 6-8 or 8-12 age ranges. So for the purposes of our categorization, "young-reader novels" is basically an umbrella term to cover everything in the 0-12 age range, and it just becomes confusing to try and define "junior novel" more specifically within that scope of understanding. Re: Trandosha

Yes, as the S1 Blu-ray was were Trandosha was first mentioned (this was removed from the Bts for some reason), while the planet appears in concept art in S3 that isn't on StarWars.com. - Imperial Information Office AV-6R7Crew Pit 20:56, August 31, 2017 (UTC)

  • Well, using these TCW home-video releases as Canon sources of information is a whole 'nother side issue that we really haven't gotten into yet. The S1 release, for example, came out in 2009, so any of its supplementary information like this Trandosha mention should really apply to TCW-Legends, just like we're doing with the first-generation SW.com episode guides. It's silly, if not outright incorrect, to say Trandosha's first New Canon mention came in 2009, which is why I reworded the BTS to remove that. Given that, I'm not sure I agree at all with listing any of the TCW home-video sets in Canon articles with the exception of Lost Missions, since that's exclusively Canon. Toprawa and Ralltiir (talk) 21:18, August 31, 2017 (UTC)
    • IIRC, there was some tweet about this, but I don't know if we ever cataloged it. - Imperial Information Office AV-6R7Crew Pit 21:20, August 31, 2017 (UTC)
      • Please find it if there is one. Because it would really be nice to know for sure one way or another. Maybe you could even ask Leland now if we considers the supplementary information from the TCW home-video releases Canon. Toprawa and Ralltiir (talk) 21:31, August 31, 2017 (UTC)
        • Yeah, I remember commenting about that at some point when someone asked. I'll try and track it down for you. - Imperial Information Office AV-6R7Crew Pit 21:33, August 31, 2017 (UTC)
          • I think found the comment I was looking for, but it wasn't in reference to the TCW Blu-ray. In my initial nom for EV-9D9, I said "The special features are canonically strange, where we consider them canon even though they were published before the establishment of the new canon, similar to the Episode Guides on StarWars.com", in reference to the Complete Saga Blu-ray I recall having a basis for that somewhere, but I can't pinpoint it. By this point, it looks like the Blu-rays have become pretty integrated into our canon coverage. I think we should reach out to someone like Leland Chee. - Imperial Information Office AV-6R7Crew Pit 23:08, August 31, 2017 (UTC)
            • Do you Twitter? Are you comfortable with asking him? Toprawa and Ralltiir (talk) 23:16, August 31, 2017 (UTC)
              • I don't think I the person to ask if we want to refer to the answer in the future. - Imperial Information Office AV-6R7Crew Pit 23:21, August 31, 2017 (UTC)
                • Ok, I just got this from Pablo. I'm interpreting that to basically mean yes, since there's nothing outrageously questionable in these extras. That's good enough for our purposes, I think, since it's really just a matter of what we're adding to which subject version's Sources lists. That being said, to answer your original comment of why the BTS bit was removed, even though the 1stm tag is technically correct for our organization, you don't necessarily need to say in the BTS that "Trandosha was first mentioned in the 2009 TCW S1 Blu-ray, etc.," because it's quite strange to say that in the context of understanding that New Canon started in 2014. Rather than regurgitating the Sources list, the purpose of the BTS really boils down to what the reader needs to know about the article subject's creative development, and it's more critical for them to know that Trandosha's first entry in New Canon material really came in "Padawan Lost" than it is to know this little TCW S1 technicality. Toprawa and Ralltiir (talk) 00:06, September 1, 2017 (UTC)
                  • Top, you are a beautiful human being. Could you advise me on how to correct the Bts for articles like Neimoidia and Skako? Also, we totally need to screenshot this. - Imperial Information Office AV-6R7Crew Pit 00:14, September 1, 2017 (UTC)
                    • I can definitely take a look at those. If I forget, you can remind me. Toprawa and Ralltiir (talk) 16:20, September 6, 2017 (UTC)

Wilhuff Tarkin Behind the scenes section

Hi Darth Culator. I can't add this into Wilhuff Tarkin's Behind the scenes section: During the early development of Revenge of the Sith, George Lucas wanted to use stock footage with CGI to 'resurrect' Cushing for one of the final scenes of the film. Concept artist Iain McCaig suggested using unused footage from A New Hope and digitally animating Cushing's lips to match his new planned dialogue, and also created the only concept art image for the character, which Lucas himself approved. Animation director Rob Coleman even spoke with Christopher Lee, Dooku's portrayer and a close friend of Cushing, about the possibility of using a digital model of Cushing. However, Lucas later decided that the stock footage wasn't good enough to be used, in addition to the fact that the scene in question required a full-body appearance of Tarkin, but as Cushing recorded his scenes in A New Hope with slippers instead of boots there were none available. Ultimately, Wayne Pygram was cast as Tarkin in a nonspeaking role, because he shared an uncanny resemblance with Cushing.

For Rogue One: A Star Wars Story, groundbreaking CGI and digitally altered archive footage was used to digitally insert Peter Cushing's likeness from the original movie over the body of actor Guy Henry. Cushing's family were heavily involved with the creation and had input right down to "small, subtle adjustments." However, even although both Industrial Light & Magic and Lucasfilm Ltd. knew that they would 'ressurect' Cushing via CGI, there were made back-up plans in case that the stock footage didn't serve. Had Cushing would have not appeared in the film, Tarkin's lines would have been relegated to other characters or potentially having Tarkin appearing in a Hologram.

Did you know why I can put it? The Wookieepedia says that I am saying "DEATH TO MICROSOFT PUNCTUATION!".

Freemaker articles

Hi Toprawa and Ralltiir,

I am aware of the recent consensus track decision regarding deleting the Freemaker articles. I accept the rationale that we do not need articles like Wookiee/LEGO or Luke Skywalker/LEGO. However, I think that some articles that only appear in the Freemaker series got accidentally deleted. These include Z-wing/LEGO, Class-D cargo container/LEGO, Vendetta (Imperial-class)/LEGO, Wortan/LEGO, and The Wheel/LEGO. These articles predated the whole business with creating the Freemaker continuity tab. Is it possible for you to use your administrative privileges to restore these articles? I personally poured effort into writing those articles. Is it possible to fix those mistakes? Andykatib 11:18, October 2, 2017 (UTC)

  • No. I am not restoring any articles that utilize the /LEGO subpage, as that is specifically something that was approved and then repealed in the recent CT decisions. If an article requires the /LEGO subpage, it is obviously not something that "only appeared" in the Freemaker series and thus has not been approved for creation on Wookieepedia. Toprawa and Ralltiir (talk) 17:57, October 2, 2017 (UTC)
    • Sorry to interrupt, but then what qualifies as worth an article? From that list of examples I think The Wheel should be restored since is a key element of the 1st season, the place were the freemakers live and do their business in almost all episodes and there's no canon article for it. So if we can't have an article for something that has appeared just in the freemakers, should we add it to the legends article?--DarthRuiz30 (talk) 18:11, October 2, 2017 (UTC)
      • Nothing officially qualifies as being worth an article; at this time, we only have restraints on what does not qualify for an article -- those that require the /LEGO subpage, which is effectively synonymous with LEGO articles that could only technically exist on Wookieepedia by virtue of the original LEGO CT's authorization of the LEGO tab. The Wheel/LEGO, for example, could only be created in the aftermath of that CT's now-rescinded decision, even though the tabs themselves weren't actually implemented until later. I understand your dissatisfaction, as the current legal situation in the aftermath of the LEGO repeal leaves certain Freemakers content without an obvious home on Wookieepedia, though I would say that's probably an intended consequence of those who don't want to see LEGO content on Wookieepedia to begin with. Personally speaking, I would not recommend putting Freemakers content in Legends articles, because those two "continuities" aren't partnered. Obviously, this situation is a mess for those of you who do want to work on LEGO content, but I think that's kind of the point of the repeal -- if you're that interested in working on LEGO content, your efforts are probably more appropriate for the LEGO Star Wars Wiki. Toprawa and Ralltiir (talk) 18:43, October 2, 2017 (UTC)
        • I kind of understand it, and I'm not that interested in working on the Lego articles, just wanted to see what's appropriate to add in future freemakers episodes in the appearances list. Thanks Toprawa--DarthRuiz30 (talk) 18:51, October 2, 2017 (UTC)
          • No problem. Feel free to ask any further questions either here or on IRC. Thanks. Toprawa and Ralltiir (talk) 19:02, October 2, 2017 (UTC)
            • Hi Toprawa and Ralltiir,

Despite my disappointment, I understand and respect your decision. We as a community need to work collaboratively. I guess have to reevaluate my priorities on Wookieepedia. Right now, I'm working really hard on a PhD and I'm also involved in other extracurricular activities. Much as I have a passion for Wookieepedia, I realise that I have to divert my skills and energy to areas where they are needed such as the Star Wars Rebels Season Four or the Thrawn. I'm not really prepared to go and start from scratch at the LEGO Star Wars Wikia right now. But will definitely put it on my list. Is it by any chance possible to retrieve the content from those deleted articles which I mentioned earlier. That would help me re-create them at the LEGO Star Wars Wiki. I know I'm sounding desperate. I have been through much worse before and shouldn't let me get it down. I will respect your decision whatever way. I believe God has a purpose for everything happening. Feel free to get in touch with me at akatibandrew@gmail.com. I'm feeling a bit disheartened right now but I'm still loyal and passionate to Wookieepedia. Sorry for the typo. Andykatib 21:00, October 2, 2017 (UTC)

  • I was just wondering if we could have a chat. I am not here to change your decision. I just feel discouraged and lost right now. Please don't take it personally. I'm just frustrated with life. Andykatib 02:52, October 3, 2017 (UTC)
    • I'm on IRC presently if you want to log on there. Toprawa and Ralltiir (talk) 02:57, October 3, 2017 (UTC)
      • Okay, I haven't used IRC before but I'll give it a try. Will let you know if it doesn't work. Kind regards. Andykatib 02:52, October 3, 2017 (UTC)
        • My apologies. I have tried using IRC but I can't seem to get through. I'm not very tech-savvy. Would it be better if we just converse on this talk page or even email. Just send a message by email and we could do it there. Let me know what works best. Andykatib 03:07, October 3, 2017 (UTC)

Any idea why Template:Marvel doesn't seem to work on newer news articles?

On Star Wars: Poe Dameron, it is used twice, but it doesn't seem to work with the second one. It redirect me to the newest article on their site. *{{Marvel|news/comics/25658/poe_dameron_takes_flight|Poe Dameron Takes Flight}} *{{Marvel|news/comics/75491/poe-damerons-quest-getting-dangerous|Poe Dameron's Quest is Getting More Dangerous}} --ZapikCZ (talk) 07:32, October 4, 2017 (UTC)

  • Hi, Zapik. It looks like the issue is that they've changed the URLs so that "news" is a subdomain now, and I'm guessing they added internal redirects themselves so that older articles weren't lost. We'll probably need to update our template to include a subdomain field similar to how {{Disney}} works, and then change all of our template usage instances for Marvel news articles. Toprawa and Ralltiir (talk) 17:09, October 4, 2017 (UTC)
    • The template is functional now, though we might make some additional modifications. Please make sure to utilize that template's archive field for those articles, too. Toprawa and Ralltiir (talk) 17:36, October 4, 2017 (UTC)
      • The modification to the Marvel template has saved the links to some of the live pages, but unfortunately not all of them. Let this serve as a reminder to always include permanent archival links in external link citations per Wookieepedia:Sourcing#Rules. Imperators II(Talk) 17:50, October 4, 2017 (UTC)

Cinestory Comic

I noticed that you deleted the page for the A New Hope Cinestory Comic hardcover as a merge on the grounds that it and the paperback are the same thing. It looks like separate pages were also created for The Empire Strikes Back, so that may need to be merged as well. I had to fix the linking because of the deletion on the A New Hope one, though, so you might want to keep an eye on What Links Here. ProfessorTofty (talk) 00:29, October 9, 2017 (UTC)

Abuse Filter

I linked a Wookieepedia guidelines page and was reported for abuse. I didn't think that this type page would be considered as an external page. Would you mind explaining this to me or telling me where to read up on it, please? And btw, congrats on your +100k edits! Red Heathen (talk) 08:31, October 17, 2017 (UTC)

Why was The Wheel/LEGO deleted?

I got that we've gone back on the /LEGO articles for things, but this was one before we even started with them. It should definitely have a page, especially since now there are red links on pretty much all Freemaker articles. If we don't like the /LEGO tag at all, we should have just moved it to The Wheel (LEGO) or something like that.--ZapikCZ (talk) 14:52, November 5, 2017 (UTC)

  • I've already answered this question on this talk page for another user. Feel free to scroll up and read the discussion. And no, we shouldn't have just moved it to The Wheel (LEGO). Parenthetical descriptors in article titles should be in-universe. Toprawa and Ralltiir (talk) 08:47, November 6, 2017 (UTC)

Re:Trandosha

Trandosha isn't mentioned in the campaign, it's just something Bossk mentions in multiplayer. Since the multiplayer modes are generally all-era sandbox-type games, I placed it first on the list. That seems to be the precedent for similar games like the Battlefront 2015, Galactic Defense, and Force Arena. - Cwedin(talk) 19:38, November 19, 2017 (UTC)

Calo Nord

Hey Tope. How have you been? I have a question for you...how would I go about getting the backup links for the article? —Jedi Kasra ("Indeed.") 19:17, December 6, 2017 (UTC)

  • Hello, Kasra. There's no simple or single answer to that question. It's kind of a different situation for every link. If you came on IRC, I could discuss it with you there in more detail and give you suggestions for specific cases. Toprawa and Ralltiir (talk) 03:02, December 8, 2017 (UTC)

Odik II in Encyclopedia?

Hey, Tope. If by some miracle you have a moment of spare time, I would appreciate it if you could take a look at what, if anything, the Star Wars Encyclopedia has to say about Odik II. Thanks! Imperators II(Talk) 21:21, December 8, 2017 (UTC)

  • Odik II. The planetary site of a top-secret political detention ward, it was one of the places where Old Republic opponents of Palpatine's New Order were imprisoned. Major Calders, a security warden aboard the first Death Star, began his career as a security guard at the Odik II facility. Toprawa and Ralltiir (talk) 22:08, December 8, 2017 (UTC)

Nikto Guards

Hi, when you deleted the Nikto Guards article, you said that it was a "nonsense" article. I would like to ask what you mean by that. If you meant that the name Nikto Guard was not confirmed, I believe it was by the toy. When you said not to use Lego in any articles, I rewrote that article changing words and omitting the Lego part, but you deleted it a second time. If you would be kind enough to explain, I would appreciate it. Thanks! Banana32 (talk) 23:11, December 13, 2017 (UTC)

  • Hello. If you have a source that uses the term "Nikto Guards" as a genuine group or affiliation, please share so we can verify its information. Otherwise, this would be like having an article for "Hutt Crimelords," which we don't do. Thanks. Toprawa and Ralltiir (talk) 23:13, December 13, 2017 (UTC)
  • Thanks for getting back to me so quickly and explaining! The only thing I could find was the description of the Puko Naga action figure, however I severely doubt that this counts. I understand now why that article that was created was indeed nonsense.
