GG Template

Someone has decided to start arbitrarily moving Templates to new names because he doesn't like that they are not spelled out completely. He has attempted to try this with three other templates, and the most recent issue is the moving of the {{GG}} template without first discussing this move with the community on the template talk page. I know being bold is the invitation on WP, but moving articles and templates is one of the editing actions that warrant a warning template advising against it without discussion. Can you please delete the Template:GG page that has been converted into a redirect so that this template can be moved back? Thank you. —GethralkinHyperwave 02:04, July 14, 2013 (UTC)

Heads up: Before I saw this request, I declined the speedy on the basis that any further moves without a consensus for the new name are only disruptive. The template can be moved back if and when there is consensus to do so. It makes no sense to me to move it back, change links on 19 pages, only to have a consensus emerge next month to move it again and change all 19 links again. —MJ— Comlink 02:41, July 14, 2013 (UTC)
  • (Replying here, for sake of convenience.) Given that the template in question is only used on a limited number of pages, and that the reason behind Thunderforge's decision to move the template is perfectly reasonable, I don't think it's necessary to move the template back to its original name. Were this specific template used on a significant number of articles throughout the site, perhaps I would be more inclined to move it back, but Master Jonathan brings up a good point. If a consensus is reached to move the template back, then it will be moved back. Grand Moff Tranner Imperial Department of Military Research (Comlink) 03:39, July 14, 2013 (UTC)
    • Arghhh! You've got to be kidding me. The user who moved the template, Thunderforge, is template move-happy. He just tried this with the FFG templates that the CT Consensus decided to have formatted as split into the examples given on the CT page. I have already listed reasons for him to NOT do so, and he goes and moves this one. If you let this one slide, you are looking at many more moves about to happen. He just moved this one without comment because he wanted to "be bold." The issue is that he is doing so without asking, and now I have to ask to move it back??? What sense does that make? —GethralkinHyperwave 03:46, July 14, 2013 (UTC)
      • Okay, while I initially find it appalling that I be the one to ask to move something back that someone else moved without asking, I have considered the benefits of a consensus regarding this matter. The problem is that the user, Thunderforge, is doing this because he can. Not because there is a constructive reason for doing so. He isn't even going to be using the GG template that he's moving, because the Galaxy Guide is out of print. He is trying this with other templates as well, so a consensus would be a good thing to establish whether or not the community wants to start moving all the templates to suit Thunderforge. Therefore, I have started a consensus discussion here. Please weigh in. Thanks. —GethralkinHyperwave 05:29, July 14, 2013 (UTC)

Drear

I can say with absolute confidence that Drear does not appear anywhere within The Old Republic; he's not even mentioned in the list of NPCs, which contains characters that didn't make it into the game. It looks like all this was the result of that Darth Ul incident, so I have gone ahead and reverted the Drear article back to how it was just after becoming a GA. You can probably contact the ACs and ask them to restore the status; Tope, Jang, and a couple others are in IRC right now. Glad I could be of help. Battle of Coruscant Millennium Falcon updates.

I'm serious about the question posed to Cade Catalryn. If the Republic Group didn't even participate at all, then why is does the update tag on the Battle of Coruscant (Clone Wars) article indicate that the Millennium Falcon novel was one of the updatable things? Wouldn't that naturally include stats of its part in that battle, especially seeing how the update tag indicated that the novel focused on the Battle of Coruscant? Tala-Reh

Heya, Tranner, just wanted to remind you about the objection you've got on Tala-Reh's husband, as it's been addressed for a little over two weeks. Thanks. Cade GalacticRepublicEmblem-Traced-TORkit Calrayn 23:06, August 15, 2013 (UTC)

Humbarine

Hi Tranner, Humbarine is mentioned in the following excerpt from the Making a Killing element of the Bounty Hunter Code product, which is supposed to be Cradossk's in-universe autobiography:

Source: The Bounty Hunter Code: From the Files of Boba Fett
I skimmed the contract. The acquisition was a human named Jonmor Tinto. He'd been an accountant in a bank on Humbarine but was caught embezzling and sent to a Republic prison. Tinto had been recently released with other criminals, and they'd established a settlement on Longwind, a minor world in the Trax sector. Despite having served his sentence, he had an outstanding debt to a Humbarine industrialist. The industrialist was the Guild's client, and he wanted Tinto alive.
This work is copyrighted. The individual who uploaded this work asserts that this qualifies as fair use of the material under United States copyright law.

The book then goes on to elaborate that Cradossk and his father Agnuk set out in pursuit of the bounty on Tinto and that though Agnuk was killed during the assignment, Cradossk ultimately captured Tinto on Nar Shaddaa and permanently disabled him, then claimed the bounty that had been placed for his capture. The exact time-frame for events described is not clarified, but they can roughly be dated to some point during the last decades of the Galactic Republic, prior to the outbreak of the Clone Wars. This is probably a lot more information that you need, but I guess there is enough here to make note of Tinto the "Inhabitants" section.

On an unrelated matter, as you were the author of a couple of the Grand Admirals articles, would you by any chance have access to a copy of the "Dirty Dozen: The Imperial Grand Admirals" manuscript, the original version of the Insider 66 Grand Admirals article? If so, would there be any possibility that you would be able to email me a copy of it? Thanks. --Jinzler (talk) 01:03, January 11, 2014 (UTC)

hey just a random question regarding the v-wing, with the cross-section of it, doesn't it state that the flight suit is only fully sealed because the v-wing has an emergency eject button, and not because the craft doesn't have life support. i mean if the cockpit is pressurised like for all starfighters, shouldnt it have some air inside of it? 211.30.183.45 11:47, March 14, 2014 (UTC) curry star wars fan

hi

Re: Stark Hyperspace War

Hello Grand Moff, as per The Essential Reader's Companion's established date of 44 BBY regarding Obi-Wan's apprenticeship to Qui-Gon Jinn, the construction of his first lightsaber etc...it is chronologically impossible for the Stark Hyperspace War to have occurred in 46 BBY. It was always set 44 BBY, the Essential Atlas and EGtW appear to be in error. I've explained this in the Stark Hyperspace War Behind the scenes section. Walker/Canon

Sorry, I mistakenly didn't look up the sources. My mistake. Although, the title of the post is still inaccurate. It should be AT-AT walker, not just walker. Roguemaster5463 (talk) 22:09, June 4, 2014 (UTC)

Sapphire

Hey Tranner, long time! Hope you're keeping well. Regarding the Sapphire article, praguepride is right on the dating issue. The article shouldn't have nailed down the timeframe as it did. The only reference to a time frame is in Cracken's IU preface, in which he refers to a "short time since the Battle of Yavin." In my Margo Flarestream article from the same source, I extrapolated that to mean the book was probably set in or around 0 ABY, with an explaining ref note (which I've forgotten to add, but will do so shortly). Just letting you know that we resolved the issue over on IRC. Cheers, Sir Cavalier of OneFarStar(Squadron channel) 22:10, June 9, 2014 (UTC)

What parts of the Anakin Skywalker article need Wookification? It would be a huge help to me and I would greatly appreciate it as I try to fix up the article. Thank you for your time. Gen. Grievous1138 (talk) 10:56, June 12, 2014 (UTC)

CC-6454/Canon

I would like to protest the deletion of this page. Now, to be honest, I did copy and paste it from the legends page, but then I eliminated all vestiges of legends material and sources. I was in the process of re-linking when you deleted it. I didn't want to mess with the wording of it because the legends version is an FA. So are you saying that I need to re-word the entire thing if I want to create a canon version? I think that seems useless and redundant, but if that's the policy then I will. Where can I find the policy for creating a canon article? Thanks! CloneMarshalCommanderCody (talk) 20:56, July 27, 2014 (UTC)
