Pikpik were a diminutive, sentient rodent species. Some Pikpiks worked as scrappers on the planet Bracca during the High Republic Era.[1]
Biology and appearance
Pikpik were a diminutive rodent species. They had rat-like qualities including a long, hairless tail and large ears. They were covered in gray and brown fur and had a zig-zag shaped snout.[1]
History
At some point during the High Republic Era, a group of Pikpik working as scrappers on Bracca stole a crate of power cells from Eren Kitt and a group of Jedi younglings. They ended up trading back the power cells for parts for their broken skiff.[1]
Behind the scenes
- "Basically, the idea was to design these guys off of those critters of the night that turn over your trash cans to find snacks and/or treasure. I think these were the characters in which the design sense of the show really started to "click" for me."
- ―Steph Laeberis
The Pikpik species first appeared in "Finders Keepers," the second part of the twenty-third episode of the Disney+ and Disney Junior animated series Star Wars: Young Jedi Adventures,[1] which aired on March 1, 2024.[3] The species was designed by Steph Laberis, who drew inspiration from the real-world animals opossum and rat, as well as The Muppets.[2]
