I just want to check with you about the recent merge of Imperial Interdictor with Interdictor (Interdictor-class Star Destroyer) and whether that's been done correctly, seeing that you were involved in the discussion here and that you obviously know far more about Imperial capital ships than I do :P OOM 224 15:23, 4 November 2022 (UTC)

Interdictors

I noticed you left a message on OOM's talk page regarding the merge I performed over the Interdictor and the Imperial Interdictor. I believe that Ultimate Star Wars, New Edition clears up the matter quite nicely. "The Imperial Interdictor was an experiment vessel... The rebels' allies mount a rescue mission and manage to destroy the Interdictor. The prototype leads to a line of Star Destroyers named the Interdictor-class with the same specificationsa and capabilities." This in my mind proves that the Interdictor and the Imperial Interdictor and one and the same. -ThrawnChiss7 (talk)

Its firepower is equivalent to that of the first attempts to develop a weapon based on Kyber technology, attempts which resulted in the super-lasers of the Death Stars. The Malevolence is one of the only ones to remain active during the time of the Galactic Civil War, the others no longer being used." Hey Vitus! Regarding this edit, you say 'Stattata could've been replaced by Pryce for all we know. Mon Calamari ships

Hi Vitus, I'd like to get your opinion on whether the same characteristics (depicted) should be applied to all members of a class of Mon Calamari ships (for example, length), given that sources say that Mon Calamari ships were all unique. • Hey Loqiical, for Mon Calamari ships we shouldn't assume length since they are all unique, although some sources say that the ships are between 1,200 and 1,500 meters if I recall correctly, so that could be used. But if we see for example "Engine Model ABC" in one cruiser, and we see it again in a separate cruiser, I'd say we can fairly assume that they are the same engine model. Just because it's said that they're all different doesn't mean that there aren't similar components. They can be unique in other ways, like internal systems or some physical hull alterations. --Vitus Infinitus^Talk 16:31, 13 May 2023 (UTC)
  • This will be a wider cultural discussion but essentially I wonder to what extent we can assume. Maybe a source eventually says that this specific ship didn't have engine model X like the rest. Then would our assumptions be so justified? It also links to how a fiction wiki only describes what is depicted by the media, I suppose, and our articles would look much different if this were Wikipedia. Is Bold text allowed in quotes?

Hey, I saw you changed the bold text on the quote on Unidentified Imperial officer, and I wondered if bold text is allowed?

On the manual of style it says: "For emphasis, use italics instead of emphasized boldfaced wording. In quote templates, emphasis is achieved by removing italics.", but I do not see why boldfaced wording isnt allowed?Rxxxxxxxxxx (talk) 01:13, 21 July 2023 (UTC)

• Bold face in an article is used to represent the article's name in the text. Using bold in a quote would go against that. Dawn of Rebellion

Hey Vitus! Will list the info here:

• The Guardian is established as being the name of the Venator that Jan Dodonna served as a bridge officer aboard during the Clone Wars.
• The JT-731 Broadhorn transport is the name given to the Jabiim freight transport. The description reads that their holds were rated for transporting garbage and as such were rarely given a second look at by Imperial patrols. It says they were refitted by early rebels as seret refugee ships. There's also an arrow pointing at the top of the ship which mentions externalized data and power conduits to maximise internal cargo space.
• The Imperial Prison Transport (or IPT as noted in the book) is established as foun ferrying prisoners to worlds like Narkina 5. It is stated to be a repurposing of a troop transport (the Imperial transport) with all comforts stripped out and new restraints added. There are several arrows pointing to parts of the ship which mention the prisoner passenger cabin on the right side. Another mentions that life support systems are kept at bare minimum. It's noted that the cockpit is physically separated from the prisoner hold. And an arrow pointing to the something holding the engines saying 'ion sublight drive support strut'.

• Also, not sure if you've seen it but ISD II ship articles (ex. Overseer (Imperial-class Star Destroyer), Vigilance (Imperial-class Star Destroyer), etc.) are being moved from ISD IIs to just ISDs. I haven't been able to find a discussion on that whatsoever, but I remember there was conversation years ago on duck testing ISDs to ISD IIs. I don't think this is a reasonable decision, whoever made it, and the new article names don't follow naming convention rules either. Bringing it up to see if you know anything about it or if not what your thoughts are.   • I had. Hmm, personally I don't think there's much of an issue with duck testing them as ISD IIs, although the number of known ISD Is that have been upgraded is slowly rising. I think this is certainly the more cautious approach, which isn't necessarily a bad thing. With an issue like this an SH thread would be the best way to settle this once and for all. Perhaps compile all of the upgraded ISD Is to see how common it was? Though in any case, yes the naming of them is correct I think. Per WP:NP: "The parenthetical descriptor need only specify the abbreviated ship class (example: Relentless (Pellaeon-class)) unless the abbreviated class name applies to multiple ship classes, in which case the full ship class name shall be specified (example: Vanguard (Defender-class light corvette), because "Defender-class" may refer to several different ship classes)." We have the Imperial-class Star Destroyer, the Imperial-class 1-H repulsortank (which, strictly speaking, isn't a ship class, but whatever), and the Allegiance-class battlecruiser was sometimes called an Imperial-class Super Star Destroyer (according to Imperial (disambiguation), at least. The actual ship page doesn't state this *shrug*), therefore the full class is used in the parenthetical descriptor. Likewise, we have both the Imperial II-class Star Destroyer and Imperial II-class frigate, which was my rationale for originally moving some of those very pages. I'll leave it up to you about how to proceed with the classification itself, I'd need to see how many upgraded ISD Is we have to decide how safe we should play it. ISB Supervisor edit reverted

Why was my edit in regards to the ISB Supervisor's rank reverted? Star Wars: Dawn of Rebellion: The Visual Guide includes a detailed guide of the Security division ranks and pictures a single-rowed plaque with three blue tiles as the rank of Captain. Since all Supervisors depicted in Andor Season One wear this plaque, they must also carry the equivalent rank specified in the Canon reference book. Dedra Meero, Blevin and others are referred to as lieutenants in the series and other material despite having three blue tiles. The card Sickening Maneuver, which is only assigned to be be used in conjunction with Sicko's card and therefore must also be him, depicts him piloting an LAAT/i on Geonosis while being pursued by Geonosian fighters. I realize adding this info might take it beyond the CA word limit into GA territory, so wanted to let you know so you can make the update.
