- "Grand General Levinous attempted to organize his own power base on Carida and declare himself Emperor. So did Admiral Rolas of the 14th Fleet."
- ―Historian Beaumont Kin, in The Rise and Fall of the Galactic Empire
The 14th Sector Fleet, or the 14th Fleet, was a numbered sector fleet of the Imperial Navy, the naval branch of the Galactic Empire. During the Imperial Era, Grand Moff Ravik promoted the 14th Fleet's Lieutenant Ralchio Nervi to head his own naval task force as a captain. During the Galactic Civil War, Admiral Rolas was a member of the fleet and unsuccessfully proclaimed themselves Emperor on the planet Carida after Emperor Palpatine's apparent demise. Historian Beaumont Kin mentioned Rolas and the 14th Fleet in his book The Rise and Fall of the Galactic Empire.
Description
The 14th Sector Fleet,[1] or 14th Fleet,[2] was a numbered sector fleet of the Galactic Empire's Imperial Navy. Part of the fleet's composition included Imperial officers.[1]
History
- "Neither of them was able to inspire much in the way of loyalty and were swiftly deposed and arrested by the forces under their control."
- ―Beaumont Kin, on the fates of Grand General Levinous and the 14th Fleet's Admiral Rolas
Ralchio Nervi of the 14th Fleet was promoted to the command of his own task force (pictured).
The 14th Sector Fleet was active between 14 BBY and 4 ABY.[3] Lieutenant Ralchio Nervi served in the sector fleet before coming to the attention of Grand Moff Ravik, governor of the Tolonda Oversector. Due to Ralchio's marriage to Lila Nervi from the influential Nervi family and Lila's lobbying to Ravik, Ralchio was promoted to the military rank of captain and became the commanding officer of his own naval task force prior to the Battle of Xorrn.[1]
After the supposed death of Galactic Emperor Sheev Palpatine at the Battle of Endor in the Galactic Civil War[2] in 4 ABY,[4] Admiral Rolas of the 14th Fleet declared themselves Emperor on[2] the Colonies[5] planet[6] Carida. These actions were also undertaken by Grand General Levinous, and were both quickly deposed and arrested by their own forces after failing to inspire loyalty.[2] In 35 ABY,[7] the historian Beaumont Kin mentioned the 14th Fleet in[2] his[8] book The Rise and Fall of the Galactic Empire.[2]
Members
The 14th Fleet had a cadre of officers, including Admiral Rolas[2] and Lieutenant Ralchio Nervi. Grand Moff Ravik had the authority to promote 14th Fleet officers.[1]
Behind the scenes
The 14th Sector Fleet was introduced in the 2016 Fantasy Flight Games adventure book Friends Like These as part of the Star Wars: Age of Rebellion roleplaying game.[1] It was identified as the 14th Fleet in Dr. Chris Kempshall's 2024 book, Star Wars: The Rise and Fall of the Galactic Empire.[2]

- ↑ Tarkin establishes that the title of Grand Moff and Oversector governance were created in the fifth year of the Empire's reign. Star Wars: Galactic Atlas: Updated Edition dates the start of the Imperial Era in 19 BBY, thus placing the creation of Grand Moff and the Oversectors in 14 BBY. Since Friends Like These establishes Ravik as the Grand Moff of the Tolonda Oversector who promoted Ralchio Nervi from the 14th Sector Fleet, the fleet must have been active by 14 BBY. Additionally, that same source states that Nervi later participated in the Battle of Xorrn against the Alliance to Restore the Republic. Star Wars: Timelines dates the Alliance's reorganization into the New Republic to 4 ABY. Therefore, the 14th Sector Fleet must have been active between 14 BBY and 4 ABY.

- ↑ Star Wars: The Rise and Fall of the Galactic Empire states that thirty years have passed since the end of the Galactic Civil War and months have passed since the Battle of Exegol. As Star Wars: Timelines dates the end of the war to 5 ABY and the Battle of Exegol to 35 ABY, the in-universe The Rise and Fall of the Galactic Empire must have been published in 35 ABY.
