The Redbird was a badge award to all military personnel of the Alliance to Restore the Republic who were wounded while fighting. The badge consisted of the Rebel Alliance starbird held by a red ribbon with white stripes on the sides. The Redbird could also be awarded multiple times, with each time the recipient being given a small starbird pin placed vertically in the middle of the ribbon.[1]

Behind the scenes

The Redbird badge was mentioned in the current Star Wars canon in Lead by Example,[1] a 2016[2] sourcebook for Fantasy Flight Games' Star Wars: Age of Rebellion roleplaying game.[1] In the Star Wars Legends continuity, the Redbird first appeared in Rules of Engagement: The Rebel SpecForce Handbook, a 1997 sourcebook for Star Wars: The Roleplaying Game.[3]
