Vance Rarkin

Hi. Why did you delete the Vance Rarkin page? He is the confirmed new villain. Unsigned comment by Anti Sinistram AZ (talk • contribs)

Unidentified ISB

Hey Tope, during my research into Imperial military ranks I found this again, which has been used as an official reference here since it came from a Lucasfilm supervisor in the art department. When I saw that Yularen was featured in it, I remembered that there was another officer with him in the Death Star as Luke, Han, and Chewie were waiting for an elevator and noticed he didn't have an article. I was about to make the canon article as Unidentified Imperial Security Bureau commodore (as the art department rank chart established that the insignia that officer has is of a commodore). However, I decided to look into Yularen's Legends page to see if the officer was named and thus avoid making an article due to policy, and I found the redlink for Unidentified Imperial Security Bureau (Death Star) and saw that it was deleted for lack of notability. Do you think it's appropriate to make the canon Unidentified Imperial Security Bureau commodore page? I can't find more information besides what's in the film and what the rank chart says about the insignia. Thanks and let me know!--Vitus InfinitusTalk 03:20, July 5, 2019 (UTC)

  • If I were to argue that it is notable, I'd say that this is the only ISB Commodore we know of in canon, but I'm not 100% sure if that's enough.--Vitus InfinitusTalk 03:21, July 5, 2019 (UTC)
    • I don't think just having a rank makes him deserving of an article. Until he does something or is assigned something specifically attributable to his character besides walking down a hallway with Yularen, the information can be covered under the ISB and Commodore articles. Image pages

Hey there, Tope. As this issue is still ongoing, and even though I've given Fandom support the exact issue that is the source of the problem, it's been over 6 weeks and it's still not fixed. This issue is, we cannot add http:// or https:// to any File/image page, unless it is during the initial upload of the file. And it is confirmed that it only affects File pages. I don't know enough about templates to even attempt testing my suggestion.

Similar to the Instagram where the template automatically adds the http:// www.instagram.com/ to the url, could a solution be to change the templates to pre-insert the http:// so all we have to add is the www.blahblahblah.com for the urls in templates like WebCite and the archive links for all of the source templates? - JMAS Jolly Trooper Hey, it's me! 13:58, July 17, 2019 (UTC)

  • I'm aware of the file-page bug, and I understand it's extremely annoying. This is one of a few fairly significant bugs affecting Wookieepedia right now that Wikia, who is also aware of the issue, seems unable or unwilling to fix at this time. I'm told the file bug is specifically a local issue affecting only Wookieepedia, which makes it very difficult to track down (and probably not as high on their list of concerns as other global issues). Moreover, Wikia is currently in the long process of updating and overhauling their entire MediaWiki package, which probably makes it even less likely they will fix any ongoing bugs any time soon, since any problems will be easier and more practical to fix on clean, updated software. As for a template workaround, that's probably something you would want to talk about with Imperators, EJ, or ecks, who understand that stuff much better than I do. Re: Creating OOU articles

Hey, Tope! Per LG/OOU, I thought bibliography sections are for non-fiction works that mention the individual, while their personal contributions go under a published works/filmography section. I'm aware that Verify suggests adding bib/links sections, but is that really needed in this case? - Cwedin(talk) 02:29, August 8, 2019 (UTC)

  • To answer your question, yes, it should be necessary because I believe the "Published works" section serves a separate function from the Bibliography. For in-universe articles, for example, the Appearances/Sources sections basically serve to demonstrate that the article subject is mentioned within the sources listed under those two sections. The Bibliography does the same for OOU articles. Toprawa and Ralltiir (talk) 02:46, August 8, 2019 (UTC)
    • Fair enough. LG/OOU doesn't really reflect that for Person articles though. It might need an update. :P - Cwedin(talk) 02:57, August 8, 2019 (UTC)

RE: ID Tag

Checking the source, I believe that I created it since the implication is that the ID tag also acts as automated security; visitors are given ID tags restricting them to certain areas, while they are omnipresent on citizens (even while not working) to regulate their presence on a given level. Rereading it, that is definitely the implication I still have, but admittedly is not stated outright. Here's the exact quotes so you can see what I worked from:

The characters are issued visitor ID tags which will grant them access to all public levels, including holoparks, shops and markets, and other common areas.
They will notice that each person has an ID badge on their clothing, whether they are working or off-duty; even children have these badges. The badges are used to regulate the presence of personnel on certain floor.

Even if the automated security implication is not applicable, would the use of them in such as way be enough to warrant the article? - Sir Cavalier of OneFarStar(Squadron channel) 19:35, August 16, 2019 (UTC)

I'd agree with that. From the item's use described in the article, the name tag serves pretty much the same purpose as the ID tag. If you want to suggest merge and redirect, I'd support that. - Sir Cavalier of OneFarStar(Squadron channel) 00:35, August 17, 2019 (UTC)

Lott Dod image sourcing

I found the image on Web Archive by using the back-up link https://web.archive.org/web/20050220194000/http://www.holonetnews.com:80/49/news/13328_3.html which directed me to the Fobosi District Accident article on HoloNet News. That Lott Dod image was from that article. I saw several other images from the old HoloNet News site on Wookieepedia (including the one for Hadocrassk) and did the same thing as it wrote there (except that I put to the Fobosi District article as its source) While its not in use anymore, isn't HoloNet News an official source?--Alex of Star Wars (talk) 19:53, August 17, 2019 (UTC)

Then if I took the image from there, why are you saying the sourcing and licensing are not right? The source is the link to the HoloNet News article on the Fobosi accident on Archive... site. And why is the licensing wrong? Is it not the right one? I looked on the other images from HoloNet News and they had the same licensing (example: YaruaDroid.jpg,AksMoeFuneral.jpg and AargauAccident-HNN.png. I don't want to trouble you too much with this but I honestly do not understand what is wrong. So please clear this up for me. I hope I am not asking too much.--Alex of Star Wars (talk) 20:08, August 17, 2019 (UTC)

Death Star role

Hello there, im just adding source for Death Star role as carrier, which i add from reliable site that also include the firsthand sourcesAhendra (talk) 07:00, September 6, 2019 (UTC)

  • Wookieepedia thanks you for your contributions. Unfortunately, TheForce.net is not a reliable source. You need to cite your information to the firsthand sources themselves, which can be linked internally from article to article on Wookieepedia. These two pages may be of some help to you: Wookieepedia:Sourcing and Wookieepedia:Attribution. Thanks. Toprawa and Ralltiir (talk) 00:28, September 6, 2019 (UTC)
    • after analyzing for while, i think it will be more adequate to change the role from Carrier to a space station as its more suitable with the source classification. seems the previous editor are arbritrarily inserting carrier classification although its not really fitting the role. what do you think?Ahendra (talk) 07:42, September 6, 2019 (UTC)

Star Wars: Armada

Hi there, you undid the external link for Gladiator-class SD Expansion Pack to the Armada wiki. Now I would like to know what's the problem with the link? If someone would like to learn more about this expansion or the game in general the game wiki is a good place. The wiki is fanmade sister of wookieepedia without commercial interests. Hoping to get an answer. Triangularer--Triangularer (talk) 07:55, September 9, 2019 (UTC)

  • Your edits were reverted primarily because they were of particularly low quality, lacking the basic formatting expected by Wookieepedia's Manual of Style and Layout Guide. As far as this Armada wiki itself, nothing becomes a "sister" of Wookieepedia unless the Wookieepedia community agrees to partner with a particular project. Just because you create a wiki and want to promote it through Wookieepedia doesn't mean we're automatically going to allow it to be presented in our articles. From a cursory scan of your project, it doesn't look like the Armada wiki offers much of anything outside of what Wookieepedia's articles are already featuring. Toprawa and Ralltiir (talk) 16:42, September 9, 2019 (UTC)
  • I had to think about your post for a while. I didn't want to be unpolite and I'm not sure if it's worth a try. But there are several things in your answer, I want to give an answer.

- The external link I added to the site didn't look different than any other such section I have seen on this wiki. - This wiki is a fanmade online encyclopedia about Star Wars. The Armada wiki is a fanmade online encyclopedia about a Star Wars game. Enough for me to see them as sister projects. But maybe you're a better and more worthy and pure Star Wars fan than just gamers? - The Armada wiki startet 4 years ago. I help there for 3 years, being a admin for a while now. We have a 3.000 visitors a week at the main page and Gladiator EP has 345. That's less, than here, but if you look for visitors at any of your Armada pages you'll find nothing at all. The attempt to promote the Armada wiki here would be a poor choice! - The Armada wiki provides 564 pages about the game, including all Expansions, rules, cards, and more. If you think it doesn't has to offer more than the maybe 20 pages about EPs here in the wiki than I would think your cursory scan wasn't much more than a look at the linked page.

I can accept that you don't want any poor looking links to other sides. But that you think a link to the wiki of a game at a page about that game isn't a good idea seems weird. The tone of your answer is quite arrogant. I won't argue here any longer. You don't need to answer, if you think it's pointless. I would only hope you think about your decision for second time. And hope is still a key concept in the universe we both love. Have a nice day! Triangularer--Triangularer (talk)

Legends categories

Why should articles be different between the "canon" and "legends" timelines while categories shouldn't ?

Has there been any decision made on this point ?

--Ldgdps (talk) 00:04, September 10, 2019 (UTC)

  • Wookieepedia has no official policy on this matter. However, there has been a general agreement among the community not to categorize in that manner, which is why it has been our practice up to this point not to do so. Therefore, it would not be the best approach to arbitrarily begin introducing split-continuity categorization. The more appropriate method would be to first introduce the idea in Wookieepedia's Senate Hall for larger community consideration and discussion. Toprawa and Ralltiir (talk) 00:21, September 10, 2019 (UTC)

I'm having a look at the forum, this will be a good thing to do this wk.

And by the way as I'm quite new to Wookieepedia do you know where I could ask help to move pages bewteen the canon and legends ones ?

Crimson Command

What kind of speculation should that be? The name Crimson Command does not show up in the novel, nowhere. I searched all mentioned sources and the only two that uses the word combination Crimosn and Command is The Essential Atlas (but as the name Teradoc uses for his Warlord Empire in the Deep Core), The Essential Guide to Warfare (as the actual fleet) and the Despoilers of the Empire article on SW.com. Instead of just removing because it's unverified info, maybe take a look into the article version history, a fresh deep look into Darksaber and proof that I'm wrong. If you can't you should keep that Bts passage in the article. --Modgamers (talk) 08:19, September 10, 2019 (UTC)

Tope, in all civility, you know me well enough to know I don't add talkheaders just for the sake of it. I've been here long enough to know not to do that. Granted, I usually don't add the talkheader AND the first message in one single edit, because experience has taught me that other editors often fail to notice said message in that case. Hence my often adding the talkheader and then the first message about a minute later. Now if that's so serious, I certainly won't do it again, but I'm sad that you automatically assume bad faith on my part AND then come here with a threatening message as if I were some kind of dangerous vandal. R5-M2 changes

What's the reason for reverting to the previous version of the R5-M2 page? I would think another fairly large photo of the droid on the Empire set is a worthy addition. --JMM (talk) 15:54, November 21, 2019 (UTC)

  • The image you're attempting to add simply doesn't fit. The toy image talking about the droid's rusty plating specifically applies to the P/T section, which covers that information, so the image needs to stay in that section. Other than that, there's little value to arbitrarily sticking another image into the BTS section, particularly since it indents both the Appearances and Sources section headers, which is aesthetically unsightly. In this case, less is more. Toprawa and Ralltiir (talk) 16:00, November 21, 2019 (UTC)

Re: Tense

Adrian Edmondson

Hey Toprawa. I saw you added the Verify template to the Adrian Edmondson article. I know this one has been deleted before because of the template. I'm not really sure why the template was added, since there are currently five citations about his presence in the film; that doesn't include The Last Jedi itself, which could conceivably be a source since he's in the credits. (I had sought some guidance from the admin who deleted it last time and he suggested it might be because the citations weren't using the proper citation template, which I've done this time around.) Can you tell me what should be added to the article to provide the additional verification necessary? Or is there something else I'm missing about the article as it stands right now? — Hunter Kahn 04:48, November 30, 2019 (UTC)

  • For starters, have you read the text on the template? It explains in bold lettering exactly what a real-world/out-of-universe (OOU) article of this sort needs. Toprawa and Ralltiir (talk) 15:58, November 30, 2019 (UTC)
    • It says "reliable sources", of which there are five, and it says "Bibliography or External links section", of which it has the latter. So I assume you agree with me that the Verify template is unnecessary? — Hunter Kahn 18:28, November 30, 2019 (UTC)
      • Incorrect. The Bibliography and/or External links sections are what need to contain the "reliable sources." These sections work the same in OOU articles as the Appearances/Sources work in in-universe (IU) articles. In accordance with the Layout Guide, no IU article would ever be allowed to stand without an Appearances and/or Sources section; likewise, rarely should an OOU article ever exist without a Bibliography and/or External links section. If Adrian Edmondson is listed in the credits of The Last Jedi, then that film is what needs to be listed in the Bibliography section as an officially-licensed source, and that is the only reliable source that needs to be listed in that article. None of these other unofficial third-party websites like PopSugar need to be used to cite information if that information also comes from an officially-licensed source such as the film itself. Toprawa and Ralltiir (talk) 19:10, November 30, 2019 (UTC)
        • I remain a bit confused, because both you and the Verification tag have said this requires a Bibliography or an External Links section, and this article already had an External links section. But I appreciate you directing me to the appropriate policies and your continued feedback on the matter. I have added a Bibliography section listing The Last Jedi, per your statement above, since he is in the credits of that film. Does this satisfy your concerns with the article? — Hunter Kahn 19:32, November 30, 2019 (UTC)
          • What you don't seem to be understanding is that an OOU article needs to have a Bibliography and/or External links section populated by reliable sources. This is what the template is saying. Consequently, Wikipedia and the Internet Movie Database, while helpful when listed in a Wookieepedia article, are not considered reliable sources. This means that an OOU article on Wookieepedia should never be considered properly referenced if created while only listing Wikipedia and/or IMDb links. To answer your question, since you added a proper Bibliography section to the article, the Verification tag no longer needs to be there. However, I will reiterate that your long reference list of unofficial third-party websites are unnecessary and should just be removed. Toprawa and Ralltiir (talk) 19:43, November 30, 2019 (UTC)

Gekko

The actor states that the name "Gekko" was on his makeup trailer's door during production. Isn't that sufficient enough to confirm a character's name? UberSoldat93 19:20, November 30, 2019 (UTC)

  • How do we know that Lucasfilm is in any way treating that as an official name, unless and until they explicitly confirm such information? That could have been some kind of inside joke among the production crew, for all we know. This is why we wait for information to come out of official channels. Toprawa and Ralltiir (talk) 19:26, November 30, 2019 (UTC)
    • Well that's too bad, I had a full page written out for him. Should we add least add the uncredited actor to the episode pages? UberSoldat93 19:29, November 30, 2019 (UTC)
      • Yes, it would still be fair to add the actor's name to the cast list, accompanied by that same interview. Toprawa and Ralltiir (talk) 19:31, November 30, 2019 (UTC)

Faddera Rabar in the Mandalorian

Another thing I'm curious about, Faddera Rabar is seen in the ice planet bar in the Mandalorian's first episode, wearing the same outfit as the one in Solo except with a bandana this time. We know that other characters from the film also made their return, namely Auromae Iselo, Chussido and Saucer Head. Can we add Rabar's appearance to the respective pages? UberSoldat93 20:04, November 30, 2019 (UTC)

  • Good rule of thumb in any circumstance: Assume nothing to be true unless Lucasfilm explicitly confirms it. You'll never get into trouble that way. Toprawa and Ralltiir (talk) 20:10, November 30, 2019 (UTC)

Actor pages

Does this wiki allow direct transcripts from Wikipedia when it comes to actor pages (and other real life people)? I thought you didn't, which is why the actor pages I've created are rather short (I don't have time to create a long one from scratch), but then I noticed that Katee Sackhoff's page seems to have been copied from Wikipedia, so I decided to check :-) --You don't have to be crazy to hang out with me. Oh, so that's why I was unable to update the link lol. Than you for the tip; I'll remember that in the future.

However, the image which you suggested is not "much more recent", as it is from February 2012 (source), while the one that I uploaded is from August 2011 (source). Deletion

You deleted the article I'd created on "Compression Furnaces". . .saying that was not the proper name for that piece of equipment. That name was already used in multiple articles on this wiki for that piece of equipment. I was trying to find the proper name for it and used that since it was already in use in this wiki.

You said "Blast Furnace" was the term used in Shadows of the Empire, why didn't you just rename the article then, if the only issue was the name of the article? A search of the text of Shadows of the Empire on books.google.com doesn't show any use of that term though, was it from some other Shadows of the Empire work? I'd reviewed the text of both of those novels in drafting the article, the contents of the article were completely fitting with what was in them.

I'm just left scratching my head as to why an article was speedily deleted when it clearly exists in Star Wars and the only dispute or issue as to article contents was the name? Wouldn't a rename, or a cleanup tag, or an entry into "Category:Articles_that_are_known_by_a_nickname" like so many other articles that are known by an in-universe or out-of-universe nickname since that was the name it was already being called, if not it's formal name? --Wingsandsword (talk) 02:45, January 12, 2020 (UTC)

Recent GA edits

Hey! As the one responsible for the recent edits to Pultimo & Shar Dakhan pending review, I figured I'd let you know the purpose & scale of my expansions.

In the course of running through various sourcebooks & reference materials related to the "Sith genocide," I came to the conclusion that the event as described in official materials was seemingly nothing like that described in the Sith genocide page here. I eventually threw together some notes & eventually just drafted the page that became Post–Great Hyperspace War counterinvasion. The edits made to Pultimo & Shar Dakhan were made for the purposes of reconciling the previous, incorrect account of events following the Hyperspace War with the actual events described in the aforementioned sourcebooks to ensure a unified sense of consistency between pages.

I made a concerted effort to ensure that my edits were of a quality befitting Good Article status, supported by accurate citations to the reference materials in question. I was unaware of the policy regarding no page citations when I did this—as such, I've gone back through & removed all introductory paragraph citations & individual page citations for these articles. I intend to do the same for Post–Great Hyperspace War counterinvasion. If I made any additional errors in the course of updating these GA pages, I would be happy to address them personally. I hope this coherently summarizes my actions. Cheers! SeboltoTalk 20:07, January 13, 2020 (UTC)

Template:TEACite

Isn't there a referencential need, though? TEA can be used to cite some pretty obscure facts. –MJLTalk 21:31, January 24, 2020 (UTC)

  • No, the policy's "specific referential need" clause was not for general page-referencing purposes. By your rationale, any book that's 300 pages long would have a "specific referential need." Toprawa and Ralltiir (talk) 21:36, January 24, 2020 (UTC)
    • Oof, okay. I'm not sure I get the logic against page numbers in general either, but I don't really need to. Thank you for the explanation! :) –MJLTalk 21:43, January 24, 2020 (UTC)
      • It's fair for you to know the logic, because page-number referencing is, on its surface, more specific and therefore more helpful. While that's true, it also has the negative side effect of making articles' referencing sections overly bloated. For example, a large article like Anakin Skywalker has 283 individual references (and that page isn't even comprehensive). Can you imagine what that section would be like if we cited everything by individual page number? It just becomes impractically long, and then that starts to affect things like page-load times, which is always a concern for big articles. Couple that with the fact that not every language edition and print number of every book has the same page and chapter layout, and you've got yourself one giant mess. Therefore, we decided it would just be easier to use a more simplified referencing system. Toprawa and Ralltiir (talk) 21:50, January 24, 2020 (UTC)

Things

Hi. I went to Darth Culator, as the blocking mod, regarding this issue but I noticed he's been inactive for 12 days, could you look into it? Whatever the reasons were for the blocks, they may no longer apply. Also, as a bureaucrat, you might be interested in this forum: Forum:SH:SWTOR Wiki connection. Thank you. Winterz (talk) 23:01, January 27, 2020 (UTC)

  • Firstly, in the future, please apply the correct nomenclature for administrative actions. No one "blocks" a page. Only users are "blocked," and to refer to someone as the "blocking admin" (I say "admin," not "mod," because Moderators are something entirely different) means something totally different. Rather, Culator applied page protection to these articles. Secondly, while I will unprotect them so that you may make an attempt at their creation, I would firstly strongly suggest verifying that you have sufficient information for creating either one, because The Hutt Gambit doesn't refer to 105 BBY, as the BBY/ABY system didn't even exist at the time of that's book's publication. You will need a special reference note to explain the rationale for that article's existence. Toprawa and Ralltiir (talk) 23:17, January 27, 2020 (UTC)
    • Protected page is a page that is blocked from interaction and administrators are still moderators, just with higher powers. I apologise if my lack of nomenclature knowledge offended you, it wasn't my intention. If I'm unable to corroborate that 105 BBY thing, then that isn't such a bad thing as it allows us (or me to attempt) to fix incorrect information within a featured article. Thanks for the quick reply! Winterz (talk) 23:46, January 27, 2020 (UTC)
      • Wrong on both accounts. Page protection does not "block" interaction; it prevents certain users from being able to perform certain actions, but the page is never made inaccessible. And Administrators are not Moderators, nor are Moderators to be considered Administrators. These are explicitly defined terms on the Fandom platform that mean totally different things. External references

  • I'll get to work on creating back-up links for the Jake Lloyd article this afternoon. One idea that may make adding external references easier would be to have a feature on the editing page that allows users to insert references including websites, news media, books, and journals. We could probably modify ours to allow YouTube, Facebook, and Twitter videos and posts. I am not sure if this is more of a Fandom issue or if we can implement it on our own. We could also have a list of web examples like what Wikipedia does to help make it easier. I think this might be something we could consider for future planning. Would this be a good idea for Wookieepedia? Andykatib 00:29, February 1, 2020 (UTC)

Hello, regarding this, there could have been a discussion on the issue in question. However justified your view is, and I do agree with your point raised, there could have been time provided for me to move the relevant information I have added to the article to a more suitable location, as you have pointed out, there's no indication that these are special droids other than normal protocol droids with paint jobs. The content could have been used for protocol droid.

Not going to incessantly complain about it, just so you know that if there's any new content put out that may not have been done at the most appropiate of spaces, the author(s) could at least be given a couple of days (really only takes a few minutes) to redo it somewhere else with the info. that's already there other than having it deleted without notice, in my opinion. • The information on my workpage is old and outdated and should not be relied upon. IIRC, the basis for the second snowspeeder group was the line from ESB, "Groups seven and ten will stay behind to fly the speeders," Rogue Group being one of them. But I believe those two groups were retconned by Essential Guide to Warfare to be Green and Blue Squadrons, which were cobbled together to form Rogue Group. You can find this information detailed on the Rogue Squadron/Legends page. Toprawa and Ralltiir (talk) 21:18, February 23, 2020 (UTC)

Abaron

What is your reason for reverting my edit to Abaron? Just "Sith" rather than "Sith Pureblood" is consistent with other pages. --Potsk (talk) 19:40, February 25, 2020 (UTC)

  • I reverted your edit because you didn't provide any reasoning for your change, which is particularly problematic since it's once of our status articles. Moreover, you only changed the information in the infobox, while leaving the Pureblood mention in the intro and article body. And I don't know what being "consistent with other pages" has to do with it. The information is either right or wrong, and the benefit of the doubt will always go to the article's peer-review version, which is what I reverted to. Toprawa and Ralltiir (talk) 20:01, February 25, 2020 (UTC)
    • I didn't change it in the article body because it differentiates from "Sith Lord" (used in the previous sentence in the intro, and in the same sentence in the biography). "A Sith Sith" would be confusing, wouldn't it? In the infobox however, there is nothing to differentiate from, especially since it's in a module called "species". --Potsk (talk) 20:50, February 25, 2020 (UTC)

Hi, why did you delete this page? It is sourced content, and this Wiki has pages like Shoe/Legends and Boot/Legends. Thanks! --Jim Fruit (talk) 15:54, March 3, 2020 (UTC)

  • One would hope the deletion reason for an article on walking around barefoot would be self-explanatory, but since you asked, Wookieepedia does not endeavor to maintain articles on every mundane subject. Just because something is "sourced content" doesn't mean it needs an article. I could write and source an article on "breathing" or "talking," but we don't need articles on them. Typically, something with a real-world equivalent needs to demonstrate in-universe uniqueness. To speak to your two examples, there certainly exists unique in-universe versions of footwear. • It's sort of a strange situation, since our Naming policy states that planets get precedence over species with regard to disambiguation. So our Legends articles are named correctly. Once Canon presumably creates the planet Drall, then this will fix itself. So I don't think there's anything that needs to be done at this point. A poor response

It is "not required" and take extra time. — Можно (связь) 16:24, April 4, 2020 (UTC) Unsigned comment by Можно (talk • contribs)

Did the rebels use heavy pummels during the Occupation of Bespin? William Rosen (talk) 22:50, April 7, 2020 (UTC)

Deleted categories

I don't mean to sound hostile in any way, but why did you delete the category for the Imperial weapons and the Republic weapons? I just spent an entire week looking for the weapons used by the Imperial Army and somewhat the GAC in both the Canon and Legends continuities. Please explain this on my talk page. --Erebus Chronus (talk) 21:52, April 12, 2020 (UTC)

  • A group decision was made that these were unnecessary categories. Toprawa and Ralltiir (talk) 22:12, April 12, 2020 (UTC)
    • If I can butt in, what about them was deemed unnecessary? If a reader wants to know more about a faction's armaments, wouldn't a category be the best place to find that info? The pages for GAR and Imperial Army list some examples, but they can't cover the scope a category would. RattsT (talk) 03:08, April 13, 2020 (UTC)
      • It's probably because they're unconventional compared to the other categories that we use/create. I understand that they're unnecessary, but I created the category for the weapons of the Imperial Army so people would know what the weapons they use are, Canon and Legends alike. --Erebus Chronus (talk) 15:51, April 13, 2020 (UTC)
        • I think these should have gone through the TC first before being deleted outright. RattsT (talk) 20:40, April 13, 2020 (UTC)
          • Hey Tope, could you explain how your group came to this consensus? I was looking around the wiki for the discussion and couldn't find it, so I assume it was on IRC. RattsT (talk) 10:20, April 15, 2020 (UTC)

VergenceScatter

Hello. There is a certain user who, very recently, has been making contributions throughout the hour and continuously fails to follow Wookieepedia's sourcing policy and another user and I keep having to fix his mistakes while we're busy trying to work on other articles. He has already been given a warning by two administrators in the last 2 weeks. I realize I shouldn't be telling you this, but it has gotten out of hand. --Erebus Chronus (talk) 00:52, April 16, 2020 (UTC)

  • No, it's good to report any trouble issues. Thanks for bringing this to my attention. We'll look into it. Toprawa and Ralltiir (talk) 00:53, April 16, 2020 (UTC)
