"Wookiees can't resist a snack. How about a cookie for a Wookiee? A Wookiee Cookie."
―M1-RE[1]

Wookiee Cookies were a type of flat, round purple cookie that were edible by Ewoks and Wookiees, a species with which the cookies shared their name.[1]

Wookiee Cookies were present aboard the Galactic Society of Creature Enthusiasts' Youngling Care Space Station. Sometime during or after 34 ABY,[2] the Galactic Society of Creature Enthusiasts safari droid M1-RE "Miree" gave one of the cookies to a Wookiee youngling whom she had been temper training, in an attempt to calm the Wookiee down. This was recorded by Miree's cam droid CAM-E[1] as part of a segment for the HoloNet.[3] Sometime later for another segment, while in the station's room designed after the[4] moon[5] Endor, Miree tried to use a pile of assorted foodstuffs, including Wookiee Cookies, to lure an Ewok youngling from hiding in a tree. This was done in an attempt to break the Ewok out of their shyness, and in response, the Ewok swung down with a vine to take the food.[4]

Behind the scenes

Wookiee Cookies first canonically appeared in "Wookiee" and "Ewok," respectively the first and second episodes of the web series Star Wars Galactic Pals,[1][4] released on April 12, 2022.[6] Previously, the cookies non-canonically appeared in the 2016 video game LEGO Star Wars: The Force Awakens, published by Traveler's Tales.[7] They were first introduced in the Star Wars Legends continuity as Wookiee-ookiees in the 1978 direct-to-video movie, The Star Wars Holiday Special[8] and later given a real-world recipe in the 1998 The Star Wars Cookbook: Wookiee Cookies and Other Galactic Recipes.[9]

The Galaxy of Creatures book depicts all episodes of Star Wars Galaxy of Creatures taking place a relatively short time apart. Galaxy of Creatures small logo Star Wars Galaxy of Creatures — "Porgs" features porgs on Batuu, a species that Star Wars: Tales from the Galaxy's Edge establishes were not present on the planet Batuu until the Resistance brought them there between the events of Star Wars: Episode VII The Force Awakens and Star Wars: Galaxy's Edge. Therefore, porgs must have been introduced to Batuu between those stories, which corresponds to 34 ABY per Star Wars: Timelines, meaning that the events of Star Wars Galaxy of Creatures take place during or after 34 ABY. Thus, Star Wars Galactic Pals must also take place during or after 34 ABY.
