"So, I decided to mix things up a bit, hopin' I could capture that signature kabatha flavor in a slightly more palatable form. After a few tries, I ended up with these fried Kabatha Crisps. Their sweet, airy layers make 'em a perfect treat for crunchin' on at any holiday gatherin'. Turns out, kabatha ain't just for breakfast anymore!"
―Strono Tuggs, The Life Day Cookbook[1]

Kabatha Crisps were a light brown, disc-shaped dessert created by the Artiodac chef Strono Tuggs, who wanted to create a palatable version of the guts of the creature known as the kabatha, a traditional breakfast food on the Wookiee homeworld of Kashyyyk. He came up with the recipe after a few tries, deciding on a dish that was sweet, airy, and crunchy and was topped with a white dust. At some point after publishing his first cookbook[1] in 34 ABY,[2] Tuggs included a recipe for Kabatha Crisps in his second cookbook, The Life Day Cookbook, where he recommended the dessert for any holiday festivities.[1]

Behind the scenes

Kabatha Crisps were introduced in Star Wars: The Life Day Cookbook, a 2021 recipe book authored by Marc Sumerak and Jenn Fujikawa with photography by Ted Thomas. Their out-of-universe recipe calls for sugar and cinnamon while the dough requires flour, sugar, baking powder, salt, eggs, butter, and Keshian Spiced Milk, which has an in-universe recipe of its own in the book as well.[1]
