Plot summary
The hunt begins
On the planet Panisia, Leia Organa and her crew survey the remains of the destroyed Tarkin's Will. Organa tells her crew that Commander Ellian Zahra found joy in killing thousands of rebels, burning them as they ran for safety. They then receive a message from Zahra, who confirms she is nearby and signals her location with a plume of blue smoke. Organa orders the Starlight Squadron to the location, though Kes Dameron immediately suspects a trap. Organa agrees, and they send droids to map the cave system before planning to flush her out.
Zahra calls again, taunting Organa. Against her crew's advice, Organa decides to go in after her. A technician warns them that the cave floor is covered in a highly flammable substance, so they leave their blasters behind and enter with only bladed weapons. Organa explains that she suspects a blade is Zahra's preferred weapon.
The final confrontation
Just as they enter, Zahra steps out and shoots the floor, igniting the flammable substance and killing several rebels. Using his sense of smell, Chewbacca tracks Zahra's path. Soon after, Zahra leaps from a ledge and kicks Organa off another one. Chewbacca quickly pushes Zahra off the ledge, giving Organa an advantage.
Organa emerges from a pool filled with hungry predators but is immediately attacked by bat-like creatures with sharp teeth. Zahra appears, surprisingly, and defends Organa, telling her that no one will kill her but herself. Just then, a large creature spits a trap at Zahra, pinning her against a cave wall. Chewbacca and the rebels appear and shoot at the creature, chasing it away.
Organa confronts Zahra, telling her that while she has killed many Imperial soldiers, her actions are nothing compared to someone like Grand Moff Wilhuff Tarkin. She explains that she only kills when she has no choice. Organa takes a device from Zahra and leaves her pinned in the cave to face her fate.
Continuity
The issue incorrectly refers to Kes Dameron as a commander rather than sergeant.[3]
