Frigates were a military class of starship measuring around 200-400 meters in length,[1] and served various functions, such as combat, medical or supply purposes.[2] The pirate Q'anah's fleet included several frigates.[3] The Chiss Ascendancy utilized Chiss frigates.[4] During the Clone Wars, both the Galactic Republic and the Confederacy of Independent Systems used frigates, with the former deploying Republic frigates[5] and Pelta-class frigates. The latter made use of Munificent-class star frigates.[6] The Galactic Empire also used frigates including the Salliche,[3] as did the Alliance to Restore the Republic who fielded the frigate Promise and the Redemption, a Nebulon-B escort frigate which served as a medical ship.[7]
