Plot summary

As his X-Wing glides above Jekara's Polar Sea, Luke can sense Vader's presence but his scanners can't get a lock. Suddenly, Darth Vader's TIE fighter smashes through the ice below and fires on Luke. Vader tells Luke his strength has grown and that he plans to interrogate and execute Han Solo.

An idea strikes Luke. He quickly maneuvers his X-Wing, creating a massive ice wall that Vader crashes into. His ship on fire, Vader gets out and watches as Luke flies away, then circling back toward him. Luke tells R2-D2 he's not ready for a direct confrontation, but knows that day is coming.

Leia contacts Luke via comms, telling him Vader was bluffing about killing Han and that Lobot was able to shut down the Imperial shuttle transporting him. Luke reassures his friends that Vader is grounded for now, as Vader uses the Force to free his ship from the ice.

A desperate eescue

On the Millennium Falcon, Leia, Lando, and Chewbacca race to get the ship working again to retrieve Han from the Imperial shuttle. Lando suspects they were hit with a seismic charge, likely from Boba Fett, who may still be hunting Han.

As Lando works to repair the Falcon's wiring, he discovers Hutt ships heading toward the shuttle carrying Han. He tells Leia that Han is "very popular." Lando's efforts finally bring the diagnostic computer online, allowing them to begin repairing vital systems.

Meanwhile, Vader, having freed his TIE fighter from the ice, again pursues Luke's X-Wing.

On the Falcon, Leia and Lando talk. Lando explains that he doesn't get into fights he can't win, but he's as brave as they come when it's for someone he cares about. Leia notes that this is exactly what the Rebellion is about—the biggest gamble of all time.

Chewbacca gets the Falcon working again, and they race to the Imperial shuttle.
