TFU

Hey, do you have TFU image capabilities? Toprawa and Ralltiir 06:28, 18 October 2008 (UTC)

  • Define capabilities. LOL I do have the game on Xbox360 but have not yet had the time to sit down and play it. Also, I'm sure there is a way to capture screenshots of the game, but I've never done it before. Though I'm sure I can figure it out. - JMAS Hey, it's me! 11:51, 18 October 2008 (UTC)
    • I was hoping you would be able to capture a specific screenshot for me. Toprawa and Ralltiir 15:38, 18 October 2008 (UTC)
      • I will certainly do what I can to help ya. I've got a friend that's had his Xbox for much longer than I have, so I'm sure he knows how to grab screenshots and save them. I imaging they can be saved to a flash drive since there are USB ports on the console. What screenshot, of what scene? - JMAS Hey, it's me! 15:49, 18 October 2008 (UTC)
        • I'll have to get back to you on exactly what shot I'm thinking of. I need to look at the cutscenes on YouTube. I'm not sure if this is compatible with the 360 version, but it's a picture of the Executor shortly before this scene. Toprawa and Ralltiir 22:00, 19 October 2008 (UTC)
  • Ok, nevermind my last comment. If you watch the YouTube video here and fast-forward to roughly 7:32, you'll see the shot where the Executor is surrounded by the Emperor's fleet. That would be a perfect screengrab if obtainable. Toprawa and Ralltiir 16:33, 24 October 2008 (UTC)

Force Unleashed image

Is it just my Internet provider, or did you upload a color-inverted image of :File:SWTFU PS3boxart 160w.jpg? // ~mikah~ 13:56, 18 October 2008 (UTC)

  • It must be your computer settings. The image is definitely not inverted. - JMAS Hey, it's me! 14:03, 18 October 2008 (UTC)
    • I tried using Internet Explorer as well -- I was on Safari when I posted the comment earlier -- and the image didn't show at all. if it's just my computer settings like you suggest, then I won't sweat it. I'll just have to look into those later, I suppose. Thanks. // ~mikah~ 16:31, 18 October 2008 (UTC)
      • Doesn't work for me in Firefox, either: 'The image “SWTFU_PS3boxart_160w.jpg” cannot be displayed, because it contains errors.' -- AdmirableAckbar (Talk) 18:00, 18 October 2008 (UTC)
        • I don't understand what's wrong when you are trying to view it. It displays just fine for me in both Firefox and IE. *shrug* - JMAS Hey, it's me! 18:51, 18 October 2008 (UTC)

Breha of Alderaan

Hello! Question, where do I recommend correcting the formatting of royal and dynastic characters to comply with Wikipedia? I dont plan on reverting your revert, until after it has been considered by due process. It is simply far more professioal looking to keep with standard English language convention in this regard. Drachenfyre 06:36, 20 October 2008 (UTC)

  • You can start a Consensus Track (CT) about it. Though I can assure you it would be pointless. - JMAS Hey, it's me! 06:38, 20 October 2008 (UTC)
  • Well, we seem to be going in circles. I have already placed a proposal in the Consensus Track. I am sorry you feel standard English language international practice on naming conventions for nobility and royalty is inappropriate for Wookiepedia. Drachenfyre 07:29, 20 October 2008 (UTC)

RE: REC

Hey JMAS,

Really? Who else have you seen doing that? REC means "restricted editing capacity" and I coined the acronym after I decided that I needed to differentiate between the edits I make from my cellphone, and those I make from an actual pc. It really is just to help me keep track of what I'm doing, and when.Tommy928120px (Peace is a lie) 16:59, 20 October 2008 (UTC)

  • Oh, well maybe it's only you I've seen use it then. I just see it fairly often on the RC page. Not surprising, you are a frequent and excellent editor. - JMAS Hey, it's me! 18:48, 20 October 2008 (UTC)

Dark jedi robes

Hey JMAS. I wanted to ask you if you think pages Dark Jedi robe, Dark Jedi Master robe and Dark Jedi Knight robe should be merged into Jedi apparel too. Thanks. * Cylka * 00:52, 22 October 2008 (UTC)

  • I think that would be advisable, yes. - JMAS Hey, it's me! 03:54, 22 October 2008 (UTC)
    • Ok then. Thanks for letting me know. I'll work on it. * Cylka * 12:36, 22 October 2008 (UTC)
      • Should'nt they be merged into Sith apparel? Jayce Carver 13:09, 22 October 2008 (UTC)
        • Good point. But Dark Jedi are not Sith ... maybe merge them into a subsection of the Dark Jedi article. - JMAS Hey, it's me! 13:12, 22 October 2008 (UTC)
          • The thing I'm wondering about is that these robes are really game mechanics. You don't have to be dark aligned to wear them. Dark is just a name for them. Maybe put them in Bts of Jedi apparel? * Cylka * 13:38, 22 October 2008 (UTC)

There just black versions of the Jedi robes that were worn by Darth Revans Jedi converts. Which is why I thought Sith apparel would be more appropriate. Because during the Jedi Civil war Sith and Dark Jedi were largely the same thing. Jayce Carver 13:48, 22 October 2008 (UTC)

Hey, JMAS. As you requested on the article's talk page of me, the article is unlocked now -- I also left a msg on that talk page that you should see if you run into a similar problem in the future. Cheers, Greyman(Talk) 22:15, 26 October 2008 (UTC)

Re GAN

Ok, no worries. To give you one piece of advice, just because it is indeed such a broad topic, I would say just keep trying to add to the history and Apps/Source lists if you still have an interest in the article. I'm sure there is much, much more that could be included into it. Toprawa and Ralltiir 00:28, 30 October 2008 (UTC)

  • Oh yeah, I'm not giving up on the article. :) Just on the GAN. I'll certainly keep adding to it as examples and appearances as they come to mind. - JMAS Hey, it's me! 00:32, 30 October 2008 (UTC)

Image Phase I Cody

What's wrong with the new image? It's allot clearer, the old one has got all those limbs sticking around. With this weird lighting. I really think we should use this image. The same has been done on CC-1004. Good evening (Hitchcock style) - PaleoJazzDopo Mee Gusha, Peedunky?50px

  • Firstly, you don't upload over the top of an image unless the new image is an improved version of the same, or virtually identical image. Yours was not. And the example you cited about CC-1004, the image I uploaded over was identical, just larger and better quality. Yours didn't meet either criteria. - JMAS Hey, it's me! 14:24, 30 October 2008 (UTC)
    • Sorry about that. But why can't we use this picture? It's seems the more logic choice to me. PaleoJazzDopo Mee Gusha, Peedunky?50px--PaleoJazz 20:22, 30 October 2008 (UTC)
      • The unofficial policy and practice around here is to not use action figure images unless no other image is available. And honestly, that action figure image is not an improvement over the existing image, even with the limbs and lighting. - JMAS Hey, it's me! 21:31, 30 October 2008 (UTC)

Re: Heads up

Hey, JMAS. Thanks for catching that. The similarities in the usernames was also what caught my attention in the first place and made me pursue a CheckUser on Greenwoman and Greywoman -- they are not the same person, but the CU gave me what I needed to block Greenwoman since that user was a cross-wikia troll. If you come across any others you're unsure of, please let me know :) Cheers, Greyman(Talk) 13:29, 7 November 2008 (UTC)

Oh ok thanks for the heads-up. But why cant I have a gallery on my user page??? Greekpimp - Talk 19:41, 11 November 2008 (UTC)

What was wrong with my edit on Rianna Saren? The only thing I made was correcting the refs and the links, or did I do something wrong? Pranay Sobusk ~ Talk 17:59, 13 November 2008 (UTC)

Question

Thank you for adding my Matchstick picture.I am going to take screen shots for new clones that deserve it.lol

Just a question, how big should they be?I made the ones of Denal and Matchstick smaller but they had very good quality. So how big should they be?250 px?ThanksRevan Malak 17:11, 18 November 2008 (UTC)

  • For the infobox, it should try to be 250px wide whenever possible. But don't stretch an image in an photo editing software to make it big enough. - JMAS Hey, it's me! 17:15, 18 November 2008 (UTC)

No I won't, I just use Photoshop to shrink it.Trust me I know when something doesn't look right.Revan Malak 17:17, 18 November 2008 (UTC)

  • Oh, then don't shrink anything. No need for that. Just keep it as its normal size. - JMAS Hey, it's me! 17:26, 18 November 2008 (UTC)

R2-KT

I really think we should not add her to the appearances section, even with possible appearance tag. We cannot mark every red-and pink-colored R2-unit as R2-KT, right? Besides, she should be on Resolute at that time, not on Coruscant underlevel. Mauser 17:09, 20 November 2008 (UTC)

  • To date, she is the only pink astromech to exist. Hence why I felt the possible appearance should be allowed in the Departure article. The Resolute may have been stationed at Coruscant at the time of this comic for all we know. Also. I don't think that was the underlevels. Notice the bubble-domed speeder/bus behind the Senate Commandos. That's the same type of vehicle that transported Anakin and Padmé to their transport to Naboo in Episode II. The gradual lightening in the background as the comic progresses leads me to believe it was dawn. Hence the darker environment to begin with that may have made it look like the underlevels. - JMAS Hey, it's me! 17:19, 20 November 2008 (UTC)

Re: Unlock request

Hey, JMAS. It was actually a larger problem on Wookieepedia, but I fixed it locally with our database and prodded Wikia staff to fix it on their end (which they now have done). Any more problems, let me know. Greyman(Talk) 21:57, 24 November 2008 (UTC)

MAJOR CONTRIBUTION

I have found a very good source of CW pics: http://s148.that-bucket-with-photos.com/albums/s29/caleb93andrew/cartoons/star%20wars/star%20wars%20clone%20wars/

Millenium Falcon Locations

I didnt mean to vandalize. I considered alot of those locations irrelevant to the story as well as many of them were red-linked. I still believe they should be cleaned up some but if you prefer to leave them its fine. Would you rather I just removed the links on them so it at least looks better? Rayn3000 20:27, 26 November 2008 (UTC)User:Rayn3000

  • It's not a matter of what I prefer. It's how the Wookieepedia community does things. The red links help show what articles need to be created at some point, and if the location/person/thing is mentioned or alluded to in the book, no matter how seemingly insignificant, then it goes in the appearances list for the book article. I was just letting you know so you wouldn't continue with the removal of information and find yourself blocked by an admin. - JMAS Hey, it's me! 20:40, 26 November 2008 (UTC)
  • Alright thanks. Rayn3000 20:43, 26 November 2008 (UTC)User:Rayn3000

Lando

Hey, JMAS. Just letting you know that Ataru and I had discussed the scroll box for the references in Lando's article before we nominated it for FAN, and we decided that it was easier to search for references if there was no scroll box. Normally scroll boxes are preferable, but for articles with literally hundreds of ref tags, like Lando and Tales of the Jedi, a scroll box can sometimes hinder looking for a specific ref mention or whatnot. Just wanted to let you know why I reverted your edits. Greyman(Talk) 16:52, 27 November 2008 (UTC)

  • No problem. Thanks for the heads up. - JMAS Hey, it's me! 16:55, 27 November 2008 (UTC)

Japanese cover arts

Hello, JMAS. On my computer I have not only the high-res scans of Japanese bookcovers, but also original cover artworks for some of them, which can be used to crop more accurate images without hieroglyphics, as well as for cover gallery. Unfortunately I cannot remember where I found them and therefore cannot provide any source other than the books themselves. Since you were the original uploader for most of the japanese covers, I thought I should ask before uploading: do we need more images like this one? Mauser 16:21, 2 December 2008 (UTC)

  • Tough call. I'll see if I can search around to find where they are from. In the meantime, unless you get told otherwise by an admin, the way you have it might be just fine. Now I have question. How many of the cover arts do you have? All of them? Would you be willing to share them via email? *big grin* I'm always interested in expanding my SW image collection. - JMAS Hey, it's me! 16:29, 2 December 2008 (UTC)
    • I have about 15 of them, mostly NJO. Don't try to google it, because they're all extracted from .swf files. The problem is, the site the swf's were from doesn't exist anymore, and I don't even remember the exact adress. But if adding them to the cover galleries is fine, I could simply upload them over the next few hours. Mauser 16:46, 2 December 2008 (UTC)
      • It would help if you had the site address to put in the source field, even if it is no longer a live site (you could say that in parethesis in the source field), but if not, then I'd just upload them as you did that first one. - JMAS Hey, it's me! 16:52, 2 December 2008 (UTC)
        • I'll go ahead then. Mauser 17:03, 2 December 2008 (UTC)

Argyus

I'm trying to get Argyus to FA status, and the quote you added includes a description in it that was brought up in an objection. Please don't add it again. And for future references, I'd appreciate it if you'd let me know if you plan on changing something in an article that I'm trying to get to FA or GA status. Grand Moff Tranner 20px (Comlink) 01:48, 10 December 2008 (UTC)

  • There was no FA/GA nom template at the top of the page when I made my edits. If there had been, I of course would have discussed it with the nominator first. I honestly cannot see how either of those quotes would be objectionable, but all right. - JMAS Hey, it's me! 01:49, 10 December 2008 (UTC)
    • The template is indeed there - right at the top of the page, in fact. Grand Moff Tranner 20px (Comlink) 01:50, 10 December 2008 (UTC)
      • OK, that's bizarre. According to the edit history, it was there. But I kid you not, there must have been caching issue, because it was not showing up on the article when I made my edits. It never appeared until your reversion. - JMAS Hey, it's me! 01:51, 10 December 2008 (UTC)
        • I really should apologize for just removing the quotes without giving an explanation first. After thinking about it, I will use the quote you provided in the P&T section. Thanks for your help. Grand Moff Tranner 20px (Comlink) 01:58, 10 December 2008 (UTC)
          • No worries. :) I can be a bit stubborn. But I'd never intentionally do anything to detract from a FA or GA nomination. - JMAS Hey, it's me! 02:02, 10 December 2008 (UTC)

Kit Fisto

right|thumb|150px Watch this video. You can see that this Delta 7b Is clearly Kit's. [2]. Unsigned comment by Butters4115 (talk • contribs)

  • I've seen the video. And yes, Kit is flying a Delta 7-B. That image is not "clearly Kit's". Especially considering the fact that the image in question was a render on on the official site for The Clone Wars film, which did not show Kit Fisto in a Delta-7B fighter. Not to mention the render was up long before anyone knew anything about the "Lair of Grievous" episode. I'm sure it was the basic render used in designing all the Delta-7Bs used in the series, but that does NOT make that image Kit Fisto's fighter. - JMAS Hey, it's me! 18:25, 10 December 2008 (UTC)

        • To repeat myself: I'm sure it was the template render used in designing all the Delta-7Bs used in the series, but that does NOT make that image Kit Fisto's fighter. It just means Kit is flying a factory model, no modifications, KSE Delta-7B. - JMAS Hey, it's me! 01:27, 11 December 2008 (UTC)
          • But the droid is obviously Kits droid! Just cause he didn't modify the strafighter doesn't mean the droid always looks like that. I bet they used Kits picture because the paint design is very simple and wouln't take away from the ship design.--Butters4115 02:54, 11 December 2008 (UTC)
            • It's pure speculation, and we do not use speculation in Wookieepedia articles. Period. - JMAS Hey, it's me! 03:02, 11 December 2008 (UTC)
              • I guarantee that only Kits fighter will look like that in the series.--Butters4115 03:11, 11 December 2008 (UTC)

                  • Ok well agree to disagree sorry for wasting your time.--Butters4115 14:10, 11 December 2008 (UTC)
                    • If your not suppose to speculate on wookieepedia then why are you speculating that the fighter isnt only Kits. Because it is Kits fighter. No one else's. That is Kit Fisto's Delta-7B Jedi Starfihgter with R6-H5 in the hull. Period.--Butters4115 00:02, 16 December 2008 (UTC)
                      • Fine. You show me the source the explicitly states the the image in question is Kit Fisto's Delta-7B Aethersprite-class light interceptor and the image can go back in the article. - JMAS Hey, it's me! 00:11, 16 December 2008 (UTC)
                        • Well for first off in the clone wars pocketmodel game they say that its his fighter and we've already seen it in the series. Plus im sure Lucasfilm isn't so lazy that they wouldn't make each fighter different.
                          • Ps. thanks for the heads up about the pictures i wanted to crop them but i don't know what program to use on my Mac.--Butters4115 02:40, 16 December 2008 (UTC)
  • Whatever program you do use to crop it, try and make sure it doesn't compress the file on saving. You basically want a "Lossless crop". The program I use is either Photoshop CS or JPEGcrop. - JMAS Hey, it's me! 02:51, 16 December 2008 (UTC)

Kit Fisto's Delta-7B image

Hey JMAS, The reason I used "File:Delta-7B TCW.jpg" for Kit Fisto's Delta-7B was because, according to the Star Wars PocketModel Clone Wars Tactics expansion, Kit Fisto's Delta-7B is painted with the exact same markings. SWPM units are approved by Lucasfilm before they go into production and distribution, so this may be the only canonical reference to his ship until it shows up on the Cartoon Network show.Gethralkin 21:12, 11 December 2008 (UTC)

I mean, about the Galactic Empire article.--Youngla0450 17:46, 13 December 2008 (UTC)

  • Here we go:
  1. Do not create a new heading with each post. You post under this same heading.
  2. I have never sent you any note.
  3. I haven't touched the Galactic Empire article since October 4.
  4. If I ever remove any information you add to an article, it will be because it:
    • It is poorly written
    • It is inaccurate information
    • It is not formatted correctly according to Wookieepedia standards
If any of those reasons apply, then it is a valid reversion regardless of whether you like it or not. - JMAS Hey, it's me! 17:56, 13 December 2008 (UTC)

Champions of the Force

I think instead of Champions of the Force redirecting to Champions of the Force (disambiguation) it would be better to simply move disambiguation page to the actual title. • Yep, I see that. We can agree to disagree on this. :) I think letting the community decide would be best, that way you or I are not making the decision. I'll start a discussion/vote about it on the current disambig page. - JMAS Hey, it's me! 21:55, 14 December 2008 (UTC)
  • I'm happy for you to start a vote if you'll consent to me moving it back to the status quo (i.e. the way it was/the way I want it) for the duration of the vote. If people agree with your reasoning then it will be moved around accordingly. That work? Also, I'm not physic, but I do know of something called common sense, which tells me that a very well-known EU novel written by a prominent author and which was probably a best-seller of some sort is going to be more well-known than a miniatures set and a trading card game. Rodian

I hope that by now you'd be capable of grasping the idea that context is important to image selection, but apparently not. Greedo makes sense in the "Criminal underworld" section. Your spiffy new incredibly generic image does not. Your edits are decreasing the quality of the article, which is the definition of vandalism. Revert it again and you won't revert anything EVER AGAIN. -- Darth Culator (Talk) 03:19, 16 December 2008 (UTC)

Re: Squadrons Over Corellia

Actually they do. Lower left corner, looks like 2SWG15. I actually play this game a bit =) Mauser 05:07, 16 December 2008 (UTC)

  • It's the cost, which must be paid to bring the card into play. Since it's a part of the game mechanic, this number can be raised or reduced by various effects. The card's collector's number is in the lower left corner and it looks like XYZ, where X is the set number, Y - the card rariry (C for common, U for rncommon, R for rare, P for premiun, F for fixed, M for <still can't figure out>, SWG for the Star Wars Galaxies Loot cards and SWGP for Promo Loots) and Z - the card's actual number, just like in any other card game. Mauser 15:06, 16 December 2008 (UTC)
    • I noticed that sometime ago, so I simply decided to put card examples on top of the respective sections to avoid that. It's not like I want to put examples of every card type in the article anyway, so there's simply not many images to bother with. But if you really want to rearrange the number system, I don't see how it can hurt. Mauser 15:48, 16 December 2008 (UTC)

In case you want more high-quality pics from the card game, I found 4 more arts on the website of Michel Koch, but I don't know where to fit them. You may upload them if you want to. Mauser 14:08, 18 December 2008 (UTC)

  • Awesome. Thank you. If I can find room, I'll upload them. If not, I'll just keep them for my own viewing pleasure. :) - JMAS Hey, it's me! 14:14, 18 December 2008 (UTC)

Commando droids

It says their names in the Episode guide on the site. Unit 26 is mentioned by name in the show. Hmmm... however, just checking now, it appears only 08 (and 26) is correct. 07 and 09 were the two standing next to him, not the commander and box one. That's lame, I did all that for the other two for nothing. -- Cato Neimoidia 20:55, 27 December 2008 (UTC)

Denal

Nice work on Denal's page with the new pic and everything. Your headings work better then mine. Personally, I was just trying to get rid of the crap and but down a decent base for the article. (You'll know what I mean if you take look back on the version prior to mine) But good work polishing it up into a nice looking article. --Shadowxander 05:40, 5 January 2009 (UTC)

  • In "Duel of Droids episode Denal uses a DC-15S blaster. In the article would it be better if i said "utilized a DC-15S blaster during the mission on skytop station"?
    • That would be fine. Just saying he "prefered" that particular weapons is unbased and unsubstantiated. - JMAS Hey, it's me! 01:05, 10 January 2009 (UTC)

Implacable Image

The Implacable was an unmarked Acclamator I-class assault ship according to the Star Wars PocketModel Trading Card Game. If you would prefer, I can use the image of the styrene ship instead, but I thought it would look better as a page if I used the standard image of an unmarked Acclamator I since it is apparent that it was the CGI they used for the unit that they produced. You can compare the styrene unit (Ground Assault space unit ship#21) image here: [3] Gethralkin 05:01, 13 January 2009 (UTC)

  • Nah, leave it as is. Though, don't be surprised if someone else comes along and removes the image. If they do, then just stick the PocketModel image in there. You might also just want to put a note in the source for the image about PocketModel TCG stating that the Implacable was an unmarked Acclamator. - JMAS Hey, it's me! 05:44, 13 January 2009 (UTC)

Clone recon trooper

Excuse me, but why did you remove the new Clone Recon trooper picture I had added to the article? Gry Sarth 13:48, 24 January 2009 (UTC)

  • Very simple. It was deleted. Therefore I removed it from the article. - JMAS Hey, it's me! 13:49, 24 January 2009 (UTC)
    • Wow, and do you have any idea why it was deleted? It was just the pic currently in the 1st page of the official site... Are there rules against that? Can I upload the picture again?Gry Sarth 16:50, 24 January 2009 (UTC)
      • Only if you can give it a proper source. And if it was a rotating image on the main page of StarWars.com, then you need to explain that in the image information template. - JMAS Hey, it's me! 16:56, 24 January 2009 (UTC)

Leia memory quote

This has been discussed and debated quite a bit, but no solid resolution has really come of it, has it? Can I please have a direct reference from Lucas that Leia is thinking of Padmé when she said this. Additionally, the article itself describes that it isn't clear how Leia could be remembering Padmé as her real mother, and that attempts to make Padmé fit the memory are speculative. Besides, a quote of Leia only promotes that line of thought, and although could possibly describe her emotional makeup, does not sufficiently fully describe what kind of person Padmé really was. However, if the quote is truly referencing Padmé and can be sourced to Lucas, I will be glad to make sure that it is reflected also on the quotes page so that it is solidly referenced. Gethralkin 15:39, 24 January 2009 (UTC)

  • You are right. It has not been definitively. Therefore you should not have just arbitrarily changed it. If you think it should be changed, then you bring it to a vote on the talk page offering both options and let the community decide. - JMAS Hey, it's me! 15:45, 24 January 2009 (UTC)
    • Sorry about that. I was jumping ahead of myself. Gethralkin 16:46, 24 January 2009 (UTC)

Darth Mater

By the way, what do you think of Darth Mater as a non-canonical George-approved character. Darth Culator deleted the page based on irrelevence, but I believe it is just about as relevant as Mickey Mouse being given the title of honorary member of the Jedi Council by Lucas in in StarWars.com's Star Wars Weekends coverage. The Darth Mater auction exhibit was signed by George Lucas himself.[4] Gethralkin 16:10, 24 January 2009 (UTC)

  • That's a tough call. It was for charity, so just because the item was signed by Lucas would have added value and boosted up the selling price. Based on that alone, without Lucas having given any more credence to the "character", I'm not sure it does warrant an article... at least until another more official source mentions it. - JMAS Hey, it's me! 16:27, 24 January 2009 (UTC)

Clone Wars Campaign Guide

Am I right in thinking if you have the Clone Wars Campaign GuidE? If so, would you be able to tell me what it says about Ronderu lij Kummar - she's probably just listed as an example name in the Kaleesh entry, though if there's stuff on Grievous she could be there too - and Nym? Cheers, -- AdmirableAckbar (Talk) 15:25, 26 January 2009 (UTC)

  • No, I'm sorry, I don't have it. I have it on order at the local library, so I should get the first copy they get in. The images I uploaded from TCWCG were from the artist website. And since the artist site didn't state what sourcebook they were in, I went to a local bookstore to flip through the book to verify they were in there. - JMAS Hey, it's me! 16:16, 26 January 2009 (UTC)
    • There is a full entry for Nym indeed, Ronderu lij Kummar is also mentioned as an example of a Kaleesh name. Not sure if she's mentioned anywhere else: it's going to be month until I start reading it - still busy with KOTOR CG for now. Mauser 18:07, 30 January 2009 (UTC)

Rocket Droid image

Hi, once again you changed the Rocket droid image, without giving any attention to the discussion I started about why I had reverted it back to my original one. What gives? I know I'm new to this wiki editing thing, but I don't understand how authority works around here. Aren't the decisions supposed to be taken democratically, through discussion? "Please learn how to properly format an article"

You commented this in your edit of the Roggwart article. In the interest of complying, what did I do so wrong? Gry Sarth 18:18, 26 January 2009 (UTC)

  • I'm sorry if my edit summary seemed overly harsh.
  1. You made the image 350px wide. Except the most extreme and special cases, never should a thumbnail in an article be that wide. If an image is placed in an article and it is is to the left of the infobox, then it should be no more than 200px wide, 180px is preferred. In the open area of an article, after the infobox has ended, then up to 250px is acceptable.
  2. There have been other instances where you've put an image in an article in the Appearances section and aligned it to the left. That makes the articles look very sloppy and will end up being reverted, if not by me, then by someone else here. - JMAS Hey, it's me! 18:41, 26 January 2009 (UTC)
I hope that clears it up. - JMAS Hey, it's me! 18:41, 26 January 2009 (UTC)
  • Thanks for the response. I had looked for editing guidelines, but all I found was that infobox images should be 250px wide, where can I find all these infos you just listed and more? I just find it strange that such a horizontal picture, as the roggwart one, should be displayed in such a small size that it makes it almost unreadable. Finally, are you saying I shouldn't align the pictures to the left? Doesn't this happen in many articles? Gry Sarth 19:01, 26 January 2009 (UTC)
    • Here are the best resources for you to brush up on Wookieepedia:Manual of Style, Wookieepedia:Layout Guide, and Wookieepedia tutorials. As to the aligning left, that isn't what I'm saying at all. Venator-class Star Destroyer is a good article to use as example. You see how the infobox is very long. All the image that appear in the article to the left of the infobox are sized at 200px. Once the infobox stops stretching into the main body of the article, and the text spreads all the way across the page, then you start staggering the images left and right throughout the article. There should be no more than 1 image for every 2-4 paragraphs, depending on how long the paragraphs are. Also, it is generally agreed that images in the main body of the article should at the very most be 300px wide, though, 250px is generally agreed upon to be the widest. Once you get down to the Appearances and Sources sections, image should be aligned right. Except in a rare case, no list using bullets should be pushed to the right by an image aligned to the left. There is no policy officially, but many people frown on even having an image in the Appearances/Sources section of the article at all. - JMAS Hey, it's me! 19:38, 26 January 2009 (UTC)
      • Thanks for all the info. Hopefully I won't bother you too much in the future. Gry Sarth 19:55, 26 January 2009 (UTC)

Defoliator pic

Hey, where did you get that defoliator explosion image? I can't find that particluar frame in the episode. Gry Sarth 14:08, 28 January 2009 (UTC)

  • It was in the episode guide screenshots on the official SW site. - JMAS Hey, it's me! 14:09, 28 January 2009 (UTC)
    • Well, then, shouldn't you have uploaded it as a new image? Cause the source information is false, your image does not in fact appear in the TV episode, only on the Official Website. Gry Sarth 14:12, 28 January 2009 (UTC)
      • Not at all. It is a screenshot from the episode. The frame capture happens to be found on the official site. Therefore the source information is just as it should be. And as for uploading it as a new image, yes, I could have. But if I had, there is no room for the other version, so it would have been deleted as an unused image anyway. Therefore, it made more sense just to overwrite it. - JMAS Hey, it's me! 14:16, 28 January 2009 (UTC)
        • But if you look at that scene frame by frame you will se that this particular screenshot does not actually exist in the episode as broadcasted. It might be part of an alternate or extended shot that wasn't used. So how can the source be listed as the broadcasted episode if that frame doesn't actually exist in it? To a different degree, that's akin to sourcing a shot of Padmé's family home to Ep2. Gry Sarth 15:14, 28 January 2009 (UTC)
          • I just re-watched the episode. That frame is present there. Mauser 15:56, 28 January 2009 (UTC)
            • Thanks Mauser. I thought it was from watching it yesterday, but I was gonna have to wait to rewatch it again when I get home. Hence, why I left the episode source and just added the SW.com source to the image ;) - JMAS Hey, it's me! 16:03, 28 January 2009 (UTC)
              • I must disagree with Mauser, try as I might I can't see that same frame in the episode. The droids never reach the pose portrayed in this picture. Gry Sarth 16:09, 28 January 2009 (UTC)
                • I also just rewatched the episode. The shot is indeed there. - JMAS Hey, it's me! 04:27, 29 January 2009 (UTC)
                  • That's very weird. Are they broadcasting different versions? Maybe the HD is different from the normal edit? Go figure... Gry Sarth 11:55, 29 January 2009 (UTC)
                    • I doubt they are. I'm sorry to say, I think you're just missing it. It happens very fast. If it might help you find it, try slowing your player down to half speed right at the point the weapon explodes on the ground. Your version of the image, the one I overwrote, takes place right before the current shot happens. - JMAS Hey, it's me! 13:04, 29 January 2009 (UTC)
                      • Oh no, I think you are misunderstanding me. I'm not talking about the shot, I'm talking about the specific frame. I can see the same shot, the sideview of the droids being blasted, what happens is that the specific frame you uploaded doesn't actually exist in the episode. If you go through that shot frame by frame, you'll never see the droids reach that pose. Gry Sarth 20:26, 29 January 2009 (UTC)
                        • Even if the don't, does it matter? The Episode Guide for Downfall of a Droid features 3 images from a deleted scene, does this mean we can't use them? Mauser 20:29, 29 January 2009 (UTC)
  • I was intrigued, and I've checked. This particular frame is not in the episode (at least in the version I have), see the comparison below I've done here. So what now? I'm not saying that we shouldn't use it, but maybe we could consider it just as a promo pic for this episode, or add a mention just after the source, saying that this frame has been cut from the final version of the scene, I don't know. Kaal 21:42, 29 January 2009 (UTC)
    • I'm CERTAINLY NOT saying we shouldn't use it! I just said that the Source listed should be the Official Site instead of the episode itself. Gry Sarth 22:25, 29 January 2009 (UTC)
      • The source listed IS the official site. - JMAS Hey, it's me! 22:31, 29 January 2009 (UTC)

Clone Snowtrooper

Hey, hate to be always questioning, but what was with the full undo of the Clone cold assault trooper? What do you mean by "No room"? I would just appreciate it if you could add something on the article's discussion when you go about your decisions like that. As it is, I feel like any effort I make to contribute to this wiki is simply ignored and paved over with no explanation. Gry Sarth 13:42, 30 January 2009 (UTC)

  • I was just in the middle of re-including your text update. But there was no room for the image. There is not enough text in the article to support 3 images. Since the second image was already in the Motmot article, I figured a new image could go in article. I opted for one I placed in there because it's a 3D animation image over an drawn illustration. - JMAS Hey, it's me! 13:48, 30 January 2009 (UTC)
  • And it's not personal. It's really just a matter of the manual of style and layout guidelines for Wookieepedia. - JMAS Hey, it's me! 13:54, 30 January 2009 (UTC)
    • You think the Clone snowtrooper article does not need a single Phase II armor picture? The picture you added is very cool, but it adds nothing new to the article. The helmets on spikes picture was cool too, but at least it depicted an event and hinted at the cloth nature of the helmet. Gry Sarth 13:58, 30 January 2009 (UTC)
      • I concede on the layout department. But when you go about changing content, I would appreciate if you could put your decisions up for debate in the Discussion page. For example, why do you think the History section needed to be obliterated? Gry Sarth 14:00, 30 January 2009 (UTC)
        • Obliterated? Sorry, not following here. The History section is exactly the way you last edited it. - JMAS Hey, it's me! 14:09, 30 January 2009 (UTC)

Kits Delta-7B proff!

I've got proff that the picture i posted a while ago is Kits fighter! look at this! --Butters4115 05:38, 6 February 2009 (UTC) File:KitGlove.jpg|Kits Glove Has the Same Pattern as the Starfighter File:Delta-7B TCW.jpg|Why would anyone else have that logo on there fighter?? That is somewhat compelling evidence. But, it could be a fleet insignia, much like the Open Circle Fleet that Skywalker and Kenobi commanded. The fact is, we just don't know for certain until an official source shows that picture and explicitly states that it is Kit Fisto's Delta-7B. And until we know with 100% certainty, it is still speculation. - JMAS Hey, it's me! 12:49, 6 February 2009 (UTC)

Wow thats a fleet design! I always thought it was the "Army of the Republic" logo. That explains so much.--Butters4115 14:18, 6 February 2009 (UTC)

Chopper image

Hey, what do you mean by "removed unsourced image" from the Chopper article? I did source the image to the OS Episode Guide. Gry Sarth 09:24, 9 February 2009 (UTC)

  • Humm, weird, just checked the image again and it shows as unsourced, yet if you look at the "Comment" section you can see the source I entered. What's going on here? Gry Sarth 09:29, 9 February 2009 (UTC)
    • I looked at every image in both slide shows on the episode guide for that episode and the image is nowhere to be found, hence why I removed the source from the image and removed it from the article. - JMAS Hey, it's me! 17:23, 9 February 2009 (UTC)
      • Well, have you looked in the Commentary Video in the Episode Guide page? When in doubt about something, don't be shy to ask. Gry Sarth 19:21, 9 February 2009 (UTC)
        • And there's the misunderstanding. When stating the episode guide as the source, that implies that the image is found on that specific page of the site. The proper way to have sourced that would have been to post a direct link to the video page. - JMAS Hey, it's me! 21:25, 9 February 2009 (UTC)
          • Ok, could you restore the source then? Cause apparently I don't have access to edit it. The link is http://www.starwars.com/video/view/000761.html Gry Sarth 21:47, 9 February 2009 (UTC)
            • Do you know why I can't edit the information of the pictures after I've uploaded them? Is that an admin privilege or something? Gry Sarth 22:12, 9 February 2009 (UTC)
              • No, it should work fine for ya. I was able to do it without any problem. - JMAS Hey, it's me! 22:15, 9 February 2009 (UTC)
                • Well, for me it doesn't. The "edit" is simply NOT there. I remember seeing it once a while ago, but now... it's just not there, no matter what I do. Really annoying, cause I'm still learning the ropes in categorizing and stuff and constantly make mistakes that I'd like to correct, but I simply can't access the page anymore... Gry Sarth 22:18, 9 February 2009 (UTC)
                  • Is the edit button gone on just that image? Or for every page you visit? Maybe try logging out, clearing your browser cache, then logging back in. That sometimes seems to solve some glitches. Otherwise, might try asking an admin on IRC. - JMAS Hey, it's me! 22:24, 9 February 2009 (UTC)
                  • NO, that didn't solve it... and the Edit button just doesn't appear if I want to edit a picture's info, everywhere else it's fine... Gry Sarth 22:46, 9 February 2009 (UTC)

Squad Seven

100px|right| The WizKids game is the source that identifies the squad as Squad Seven. Hasbro made the V-wing off of the images from the film - which were only shown in flight briefly while escorting Palpatine's shuttle. Hasbro and WizKids were simply both given the images and while Hasbro did not name the squad, WizKids did, thereby making it canon that the escort flight belonged to Squad Seven. Gethralkin 09:31, 10 February 2009 (UTC)

  • Does WizKids use that exact same image? If not, then you have to base that image from the given Hasbro source, which does not specify a designated flight squad. If it does, then I stand corrected. If that is the case, then you need to be as specific as humanly possible in the information template, otherwise people are going to look at the source for the image and expect to see it labeled as Flight Squad Seven at the given source. - JMAS Hey, it's me! 13:05, 10 February 2009 (UTC)

Re: Categories

Sorry, I always thought this is a policy here, because of the edit summary and many articles were categorized in alphabetical order. But thanks for the tip regarding the appearances sections, I probably can alphabetize some of them within the next days. Pranay Sobusk ~ Talk 00:55, 15 February 2009 (UTC)

      • Haha I was making a huge list and I clicked 'save page' and the list was gone, it said 'edit conflict', whats that about? --Noahferfer 18:34, 19 February 2009 (UTC)
        • First, always remember to sign your posts. As to the edit confict, that's because I added the links to the ones you had up there. My apologies for the conflict. But in the future, if you find an edit conflict, it doesn't have to mean your information is lost. On the edit conflict page, the top edit window is the edit made by the conflicting editor. The edit you are trying to make is in the secondary edit window below. All you have to do is take your information from the lower edit window, copy and paste it into the upper window, then save it in the upper window. - JMAS Hey, it's me! 16:43, 19 February 2009 (UTC)

Wanting to start with FAs

Hey there, I've really appreciated your help in the past, and I was just wanting to ask you another question. I want to start being involved with Feature Articles- supporting/objecting, ect. but the I know that protocol is so tight on this sight, I didn't want to just dive in as a noobie, is there anything I should know about it? Noahferfer22pxTalk 20:28, 27 February 2009 (UTC)

  • I'm actually not that involved with FA/GA noms and voting. Best thing is to look at all the guidelines on the page and for any more in depth questions, ask one of the Inquistorious members. - JMAS Hey, it's me! 20:32, 27 February 2009 (UTC)

TVB.com

Unless you can show me a press release from Lucasfilm saying TVB.com is an official partner site, which you can't, they're not a valid source. We've been burned by seemingly official foreign language sites before, for example: the logical address for the Japanese version of the official site, starwars.jp, is in no way affiliated with Lucasfilm. Find out where those images originally come from, or find an official notice that TVB.com is licensed that isn't on TVB.com, or they're not going to be allowed. -- Darth Culator (Talk) 03:26, 3 March 2009 (UTC)

  • I'm sorry, but this is just ridiculous. A large number of websites across the internet are displaying galleries of The Clone Wars images, most of which cannot be found on the official site. But I can't see how that makes the images unusable - they're obviously provided by Lucafilm animation in form of some press-release, not available for large public directly. Those images were all very useful and they did come from The Clone Wars - no way they could be fanarts. Mauser 12:00, 3 March 2009 (UTC)

Hi JMAS. I see from your user page that you have the Episode I Insider's Guide. Could you have a look through it to see if it mentions either of the droids 3B3-1204 or 3B3-888? --Eyrezer 03:43, 7 March 2009 (UTC)

Malevolence beauty shot

Can't find it on the NRK site. Which gallery has it and how did you extract it? =) VT-16 10:09, 11 March 2009 (UTC)

  • It's in Gallery 4 and I extracted it from Firefox browser cache. - JMAS Hey, it's me! 12:04, 11 March 2009 (UTC)
    • Cool, but I've still not found that one Malevolence picture anywhere. The sideview is there, but not the front... VT-16 18:21, 11 March 2009 (UTC)
      • Seriously? It was there several days ago. I wonder why it's not displayed in the gallery anymore. Anyhow, here's the direct link to the file which I've also added to the source section of the image. - JMAS Hey, it's me! 18:35, 11 March 2009 (UTC)

Young Palpatine pic

  • Whether or not it was obtained from the artist website, it is no better quality than the larger scanned version. - JMAS Hey, it's me! 20:57, 18 March 2009 (UTC)
    • I can very clearly see the better quality. Scanned versions are always lower-quality than the digital original versions. Anyway, it has a larger field of view. Even if you can't see the difference, others can see it, I'm sure. I think the best way to resolve this would be to place the two pics in the discussion so people can vote on it, as has been done before.--Governor Jerjerrod 21:01, 18 March 2009 (UTC)
      • You know, I just don't care enough. Go ahead and revert it again. When an admin comes and deletes the old revisions, they'll decide which is the better one. - JMAS Hey, it's me! 21:06, 18 March 2009 (UTC)

NRK

I've noticed that you uploaded pics from NRKsuper.no. I, for whatever reason, can't do it. Would you be so kind as to upload pics for Nala Se, Silood, Onaconda Farr, and the Unidentified Aqualish technician (Maridun). Thanks. --Dr.Kermit(The Doctor is in) 21:41, 19 March 2009 (UTC)

  • I'll see about Onaconda Farr, but the other three have absolutely no room for them in their articles. And since they all have good headshot images already, and head/torso shots are preferred for infoboxes of characters, I'm not going to put full-body shots in there. - JMAS Hey, it's me! 21:49, 19 March 2009 (UTC)

    • I wasn't logged on. So I am registered, thank you. And Nuvo Vindi would be what I'm talking about. Dark Lord Trayus 17:05, 21 March 2009 (UTC)
      • Apologies. I completely missed the nom at the top of the page. Feel free to go ahead and revert the images, though I think that would be a mistake. Let me explain why. You already have an image of the Blue Shadow Virus in the article, so the picture of the vial was a bit redundant. The picture of his maniacal laugh in the P&T section seems very appropriate for the section of the article dealing with his personality; more so, it seems to me, than one of him merely reaching for vials of BSV. But as I said, do what you will. - JMAS Hey, it's me! 17:13, 21 March 2009 (UTC)
        • It's not a problem. I'm fine with the one in P&T, it was mainly just the one of him with the gun "Discovery", as that doesn't apply to the section. Dark Lord Trayus 17:19, 21 March 2009 (UTC)
          • Let me throw something out there to consider. ;) It depends on what you mean by "discover." It could easily have a double meaning: the BSV and the Naboo/Jedi/Republic "discovering" his existence on the planet. Let me explain why I think the blaster image fits both those criteria. The gun is being used to keep him from being apprehended after being "discovered" and he is wearing a bio-suit which is to protect him from his "discovery" of the BSV. Something to think about. I am very much in favor of having diversity of images throughout Wookieepedia, and since the image of his reaching for the vials is used elsewhere, it opens the opportunity for the blaster image which, as detailed above, also works. - JMAS Hey, it's me! 17:31, 21 March 2009 (UTC)

Viqi Shesh

Hi JMAS,

I noticed you changed the image I uploaded for Viqi Shesh and her headshot; on my browser Mozilla Firefox at what I'd say is a relatively average zoom, though, the image in the infobox now looks stretched and distorted. Is this just me or is there a problem with the formatting? As it's on FAN and I'd like to avoid irrelevant image objections, could you take a look please? Thanks -- Harrar 16:41, 7 April 2009 (UTC)

  • Stupid Wikia needs to update their cache. Cause it's doing the same for me in Firefox & IE. On the file page, it displays fine. Please don't re-upload the old version. The current dimensions are proper for a character infobox. We've just got to be patient while Wikia gets their butts in gear. - JMAS Hey, it's me! 16:48, 7 April 2009 (UTC)

Kyp Durron

Hi JMAS,

Umm, it looks like you've got your hands full here from what I'm reading in the messages above, but I've started work on Kyp Durron and to my surprise his original image from The Essential Guide to Characters isn't on the site. I remembered your help with Viqi Shesh and noticed you had the PDF of the EGTC. It's on p. 50 of the reference book; I was wondering if you could very kindly upload it for me and bung it in my workbench or something? It'd be great for his "early life" section.

On a related note, his image from The New Essential Guide to Characters doesn't appear to be up either, but that can be for a later date!

Thanks so much! -- Harrar 16:02, 15 April 2009 (UTC)

  • Actually, that was an error. I don't have the EGTC, just the NEGTC. So here is the image of Kyp from that. I'll also post it to your workbench. - JMAS Hey, it's me! 12:59, 16 April 2009 (UTC)
    • Also, please do not use the EGTF image that you currently have of Kyp for the infobox. Use the one that is in the current article. The Tommy Lee Edwards one you have in your workbench infobox is horrible quality in comparison. Thanks. - JMAS Hey, it's me! 13:03, 16 April 2009 (UTC)
      • Thanks muchos for the upload dude, very kind of you. My only concern with the Sun Crusher picture is that it shows Kyp at 18—a full 30 years younger than the Tommy Lee Edwards pic. Anyway, his completion is a long way off so it's just a placemarker atm. Thanks again. -- Harrar 13:27, 16 April 2009 (UTC)

  • A couple of things:
  1. Please do not just post new comments under a heading that you didn't start, or that has nothing to do with the comment you are posting. Create a new heading, or use the previous relevant heading that you were posting under (if it hasn't been archived).
  2. I'm looking at the data clip videos on the CN site, and there are no images or information on the page other than the video itself. - JMAS Hey, it's me! 16:48, 18 April 2009 (UTC)

That's strange... it might be only in Canada.....but if you watch the whole video, a box should pop up with the data, or a circle in the top right corner of the video saying "data found". Hopefully you are able to find it--Kigon 17:17, 18 April 2009 (UTC)

  • Ah, I see what you are talking about. And no, I can't seem to get access to those. Though, honestly, I don't see why you would want them. All of the images displayed on those data clips entries can, I'm sure, be found elsewhere, and in larger size. - JMAS Hey, it's me! 18:07, 18 April 2009 (UTC)

Ok... thanks for trying, but do you know where i would be able to get those images in larger form like you mentioned?--Kigon 18:10, 18 April 2009 (UTC)

  • As long as we're talking just for your personal use, and not specifically for use here on Wookieepedia, tt's called Google. Good does not count as a source for images used here. - JMAS Hey, it's me! 18:31, 18 April 2009 (UTC)
