Search icons
Just wanted to let you know before you get to into it, there's two things to keep in mind on the search icons. Imp wants to make sure they are cropped only on the bottom, meaning nothing coming in from the left or top. (Yeah, I'm not thrilled about it either, but I can understand the idea of wanting them to seem more like the sit atop the box). The other thing is, we need to leave at least two pixels of white on the left side on the bottom because, for whatever reason, these things are wider than the actual box and they hang over (see here). So yeah, I'm gonna have to redo or throw out some I just did, so I thought I'd give you a heads up as well. -- Ozzel 02:25, 6 November 2007 (UTC)
- Ah, I see. Thanks for the heads up. I'll redo the ones I just uploaded that are able to fit that criteria. - JMAS 02:33, 6 November 2007 (UTC)
Hi
Don't worry, if it already has an article, I won't redirect it. All of the redirects I've done so far were already redirected; I was just redirecting it to a specific section in the article if that makes any sense.—Darthtyler

- I see. No worries then. - JMAS 04:59, 19 November 2007 (UTC)
Categorization
While I appreciate your enthusiasm, please be sure to properly categorize articles when filling redlinks. It's not really helping anyone if you just create an orphan page and set it adrift. Thank you. -- Darth Culator (Talk) 05:20, 20 November 2007 (UTC)
- I'll get right on that. - JMAS 05:23, 20 November 2007 (UTC)
Source
Could you provide a source for this image? Thanks --Eyrezer 04:50, 27 November 2007 (UTC)
- Honestly, all I did was notice the LFL logo at the bottom and all the excess white space above and below, and so, cropped it down from what was originally uploaded. I do know it's from either Star Wars: Starfighter or Star Wars: Jedi Starfighter. But no actual source as to where that promotional image came from. I'll see if I can't track that down though. - JMAS 04:54, 27 November 2007 (UTC)
8t88 with pet pic
Hi there ;) I've just seen you've uploaded a new version of the 8t88 with pet picture. Well, sorry to say that, but even if it's in bigger resolution, the colors are really bad in my opinion, and the pic seems really blurry. I'm not sure it's a good idea to update a pic only because of its resolution. Myself, I prefer a small but nice colored picture than a big one. The version I've had uploaded before yours comes directly from the artist's website, and with having the book, I can assure you that my version is more respectfull of the original art. Re: Thon headshot
Hey JMAS. I'll see what I can do over the weekend with regards to this image. Cheers, Greyman(Paratus) 04:17, 8 December 2007 (UTC)
Userpage galleries
Your user subpage galler(y/ies) (is/are) organized in a fashion which appears to be useful for categorization, so I did not delete them in the same batch as all other userpage galleries. They will, however, be deleted sometime in the next week. We would appreciate it if you would convert your personal galleries to image categorization by the new category tree as soon as possible. Thank you. -- Darth Culator (Talk) 06:19, 9 December 2007 (UTC)
- I had wondered if that was why they had so far been spared. I'll be working on it. As I get each page done, I'll let you or another admin know the gallery can be vaped. - JMAS 06:22, 9 December 2007 (UTC)
Mos Eisley TFU
This pic is not from The Force Unleashed website but from Battlefront: Renegade Squadron website. Kaal 12:14, 9 December 2007 (UTC)
- You're right. As it was, I was dealing with pics from both games and just copied and pasted incorrectly when filling out the source. You don't have to tell me I'm wrong so that I can fix it though. You can just correct the error yourself. - JMAS 21:20, 9 December 2007 (UTC)
Image categorization
I greatly appreciate your categorization of images from the galleries. You have been quite helpful with the menial task. In fact, I believe you deserve an award, say maybe.... Image help
I have been referred to you in the matter of rescanning an image, this image especially. It is from Star Wars: Purge, very near the end of the comic. If you could help me, I would appreciate it. Thank you. -Solus (Bird of Prey) 18:28, 31 December 2007 (UTC)
- I'm sorry, but I'm not able to help you with that one, Solus. I don't own Purge. Might try Redemption. - JMAS 18:55, 31 December 2007 (UTC)
- All right, thank you. -Solus (Bird of Prey) 20:00, 31 December 2007 (UTC)
Did you not see...
the wip template I'd put up there? I lost a good section's worth of additions thanks to you. I hope you're happy.--Goodwood 20px (Alliance Intelligence) 21:35, 1 January 2008 (UTC)
- First off, you can't "lose" an addition which is why there is a "History" tab at the top. Secondly, there had been no edits made in 20 minutes at the time I made my first very minor correction. And another 15 minutes between my second edit, and the one made by another user that WASN'T YOU. - JMAS 21:44, 1 January 2008 (UTC)
- Pardon my ignorance, but last I checked the WIP template is supposed to be respected for as long as the article's creator leaves it up -- it says that right there on the article. Irregardless, your somewhat flimsy excuse in regards to time between edits is just that, flimsy. I lost the section due to an edit conflict between my edit and yours, if you must know. Kindly respect the intent of the WIP template from now on, please.--Goodwood 20px (Alliance Intelligence) 21:52, 1 January 2008 (UTC)
- Fine, I won't touch your article again. But let me give you a little tip for dealing with the inevitable edit conflicts that will happen from time to time. When you get the conflict screen, go down to the lower window which will contain the edit you were trying to make. Then either save your edit which will overwrite the one the other conflicting editor is making, or copy and paste what you just worked on and paste it into the upper edit window thereby incorporating your edit AND the edit of the other person. I will take responsibility for causing an edit conflict page to show up. Beyond that, any loss of information had nothing to do with me. - JMAS 22:11, 1 January 2008 (UTC)

Swordmaster
Good Morning JMAS,
Is there any particular reason you keep changing the pic on the Swordmaster page from the Mace Windu pic that was there to Yoda pic? Please advise, thanks. Tommy 06:29, 2 January 2008 (UTC)User:Tommy9281, 01/02/08 1:23am
- Yes, there is. A "live-action/CGI shot, such as the Yoda image, is always preferable over an illustration, such as the Mace Windu EGTF image. Besides, the Windu image is fine where it is. - JMAS 07:02, 2 January 2008 (UTC)
Thank you! (UTC)User:Tommy9281, 01/02/08 2:10am
Onderon
I'm sorry, but I'm afraid that your edits to the Onderon article were unnecassary, you see, the image I have uploaded is better, since it actually shows Onderon, and not a space-view of Iziz. Also, until all that government information is added to the planet infobox, I'm afraid that the government infobox I have placed must stay where it is; I'd love to add the source to the planet infobox, but the sourcing for Wookieepedia infobox templates are a bit different to what I'm used to. Please do not undo my edits, unless you can find a better image (not the one you tried to place) and/or unless you add the government infobox information source to the planet infobox (that way we can add planetary government information to any planet article).--Vaklu 20:01, 16 January 2008 (UTC)
- No, I'm sorry. The image you uploaded is tiny. And you do not place multiple infoboxes in an article. It screws up the article formatting. - JMAS 20:05, 16 January 2008 (UTC)
- I will try to enhance the image. Meanwhile, the formatting was not messed up, however, if, as I requested, you could add the sourcing to the planet infobox, or tell me how, then we could solve the problem altogether.--Vaklu 20:15, 16 January 2008 (UTC)
- You can't add it. It's not meant to go into a planet infobox. And yes, the formatting was messed up. The edit links for the first three sections were all pressed together. That is a formatting problem brought on by adding the second infobox. As for enhancing the image, I hope you are going to attempt to get a higher res screencap of the same image, because just enlarging the current small image probably won't fly here. - JMAS 20:26, 16 January 2008 (UTC)
- I reuploaded it, I don't know what you'll think, however. As for the formatting, perhaps on your screen, but not mine; nevertheless, I did not re-add it. Also, that image does belong (or rather, could) in an infobox: it's perfectly shaped. Finally, if you don't want to add the gov. info. from the gov. infobox into the planet infobox, please tell me how to, so that I can do it instead (because, as I have said, the sourcing for infoboxes on Wookieepedia is unusual to me).--Vaklu 20:32, 16 January 2008 (UTC)
- It's a Wookieepedia template, and if you attempt to edit the template, an admin will just revert it. Templates should only be edited by those who are knowledgeable in how to do so. Minot edits are usually fine. But you are wanting to make a major addition to the template and before doing something like that, it needs to be discussed and agreed upon by people on the template talk page. - JMAS 20:42, 16 January 2008 (UTC)
- I see. P.S. I am knowledgeable, I just don't understand the sourcing on Wookieepedia for infoboxes, it's all inter-templating and wierd things like that, not plain sourcing.--Vaklu 23:39, 16 January 2008 (UTC)

- Not at all. They are from the Dorling Kindersley publisher page as sample pages of the various books. And the reason I used them is because they are full scan of double page images that would be impossible to scan at home without a crease line down the middle. - JMAS 19:59, 21 January 2008 (UTC)

Re: How long?
Hey JMAS. What I would do first is try to discuss it with Darth Culator on his talk page or via IRC, and hear his thoughts, since he was the one that originally moved the article. From my point of view, if we know for certain that Jeffrey is his legal/full name, then the article should be at Jeffrey Carlisle. However, the other side of the coin is, of course, the opposite. If we know for certain that his legal/full name is only Jeff, then that's what the article needs to be at. I know several Jeffrey's and Geoffrey's who only sign their name Jeff/Geoff, so the fact that signs his name as Jeff could mean very little with regards to his full name. Honestly, if we can't find out his full name from books, etc., then I (if this was me pursuing this) would try to get in touch with Mr. Carlisle himself (via email/blog/etc) and get the information directly from the horses mouth, so to speak. However, the first step before all of that would be to try and discuss this with Culator. I hope that helps you somewhat! Cheers, Greyman(Paratus) 18:31, 23 February 2008 (UTC)
- Anytime, JMAS. If you need anything further, you know where you can reach me. Greyman(Paratus) 16:24, 24 February 2008 (UTC)
- Sorry for the late reply. I'd actually be more sympathetic to moving it back to Jeff - it seems to be how he's known in the industry. I guess the argument above re his legal name is perhaps more encyclopedic, but doesn't really appeal to me. --Eyrezer 22:36, 27 February 2008 (UTC)
- I agree with you Eyrezer. And I understand and respect Greyman's suggestion, but this is one where I'm gonna not follow up on it. Feel free if you'd like to discuss it with DC, but if I attempt to discuss this with him, he'll just shoot me down without discussion. - JMAS Hey, it's me! 01:12, 28 February 2008 (UTC)

Star Wars Chronicles: The Prequels
Hi JMAS. I see you have Star Wars Chronicles: The Prequels as part of your collection. Could you tell me it says about Thesme Sector? It should be mentioned in reference to Silya Shessaun, whose image (from the Chronicles) can be seen here. I don't expect there will be much, but I'm trying to cover all bases. The information is located on page 327, about Padmé's funeral, and says, The funeral of Padmé Amidala is attended by her mother and father, Jobal and Ruwee Naberrie; her sister Sola; and Sola's two children, Ryoo and Pooja. The bereaved also includes Senators that Amidala worked closely with, such as Senator Silya Shessaun from the Thesme sector, Senator Eausu Estornii from Ord Zeuol, and Senator Veedaaz Awmetth from the Vensensor sector. That is all she wrote my friend. - JMAS Hey, it's me! 01:28, 28 February 2008 (UTC)

Image stuff
Hey JMAS. I just thought I'd let you know of a little image contest that some of the admins have set up for the new skin. It's to get the communities input on helping customize the banners for our site, so I thought I'd let you know in case you had any ideas. The forum can be here → Forum:Monaco banner contest. Even if you're still using Monobook or another skin, myself and the other admins would appreciate any ideas you're able to put forth. Thanks, Greyman(Talk) 14:00, 28 February 2008 (UTC)

Thanks JMAS for fixing the image. I couldn't figure it out. Tommy 02:49, 1 March 2008 (UTC)
- No problem. :) Often times, if you find yourself in that situation again, you can just simplify the category to find the correct one to use. For example didn't exist, but if you take of the Knights, then you can find all the subcategories where it might fit. - JMAS Hey, it's me! 03:01, 1 March 2008 (UTC)

Any list much longer that that one though, I would push harder. :) Thanks for responding. - JMAS Hey, it's me! 17:57, 3 March 2008 (UTC)
RE: Opinion
I do like the fact that the suit is in full and without the distracting background, but her edges are still a bit pixel-y. I don't know if that would pass Culator's quality-glasses, but I will give it a shot. -Solus (Bird of Prey) 16:48, 4 March 2008 (UTC)

Hey, JMAS. Thanks for bringing that concern to my attention. Off of the top of my head, I'm not 100% sure how to rig it, or if it's able to be rigged like that, but I'll copy the code onto a test wiki and fiddle with it to see what I can do. Cheers, Greyman(Talk) 14:33, 7 March 2008 (UTC)

BTM images
Hey, JMAS, I've noticed you've been adding a lot of BTM images as of late. I was wondering if I could put in a request for a particular image from that program. In one of the image galleries, there are a number of photos of the early wampa costumes that were used in scenes eventually cut from ESB. I would love to be able to add a picture of one of these costumes to that article's BTS. If you could grab one of those, I would really appreciate it. Thanks! Secret Apprentice
- Hey JMAS, This is Purplegethos. I added a cool picture of him and you deleted it and the kinda messed up the font on the page. Why? User:Purplegethos 15:35, 21 March 2008 (UTC)
- Simple. It was a tiny image for one. And secondly, there isn't room for it. - JMAS Hey, it's me! 15:36, 21 March 2008 (UTC)
- Its a really cool pict though, I photoshoped it and added some cool color. There is SOME room for it... User:Purplegethos 15:38, 21 March 2008 (UTC)
- That in itself is reason why it cannot remain. By adding color using photoshop, that image is now fanart, and fanart is not allowed on Wookieepedia. - JMAS Hey, it's me! 15:40, 21 March 2008 (UTC)
- Oh... Didn't know that. Thanks for telling me. User:Purplegethos 15:42, 21 March 2008 (UTC)

Hey, Could you tell me how to make a userbox? Thanks! User:Purplegethos 15:56, 21 March 2008 (UTC)
- Better than I could ever explain it, I recommend going here: Wookieepedia:Userboxes. - JMAS Hey, it's me! 16:04, 21 March 2008 (UTC)

Behind the Magic
I noticed you're adding Behind the Magic to the source list for a lot of articles lately, which is good, but you seem to consistently add it at the head of the list. Since the manual of style says that the source list should be in publication order, this is wrong: in particular, BtM should be listed after most West End Games sources. Thanks, —Silly Dan (talk) 20:55, 21 March 2008 (UTC)
- Oh, sorry bout that. I didn't realize there were in publication order. I just thought they were random. Thanks for letting me know. I'm remedy that. - JMAS Hey, it's me! 23:34, 21 March 2008 (UTC)
File:Saelt-Marae2.jpg
Could you please provide a proper source for File:Saelt-Marae2.jpg? Because it's currently got a false source on it. Thanks, -- AdmirableAckbar (Talk) 01:13, 22 March 2008 (UTC)
- No, it's not a false source. It is a promotional still from Return of the Jedi. But I've more accurately added the source I found it from, the website of the actor who portrayed Saelt-Marae. - JMAS Hey, it's me! 12:45, 22 March 2008 (UTC)
- It was a false source, since "Star Wars Episode VI: Return of the Jedi" implies you got it from the film itself. Anyway, thanks for providing the source and for cropping the image. :) -- AdmirableAckbar (Talk) 13:03, 22 March 2008 (UTC)
Sorry, quick question
- Hey JMAS, sorry to bug you again, but I was wondering if it is allowed if we take a picture of a star wars movie or game and post it on wikia if that person doesn't have a picture or it can help us see what he/she looks like. I am asking you b/c you are always come up with cool pics. GJ btw. Purplegethos 17:45, 25 March 2008 (UTC)
- If I'm understanding your question ... you are asking if it's allowed to take a screenshot of "Joe Bloe" from a licensed Star Wars game/film/TV show, and post it in the article for "Joe Blie" where that article doesn't already have an image of the character. Is that right? If so, then yes, as long as it is a screenshot from a Star Wars licensed product/source. Things not to do though: 1. Take pictures with a digital camera off of a TV screen or monitor. Those will be very poor quality no matter how nice of a camera you use. 2. When taking screenshots from computer games, they are only allowed in the main article space if they are canon images, meaning not from cut scenes/alternate endings, etc. Hope that helps. - JMAS Hey, it's me! 17:55, 25 March 2008 (UTC)
- It does. Thanks man! Purplegethos 18:12, 25 March 2008 (UTC)
- JMAS, would I be able to take a digital picture of a comic book of star wars of acharacter and post it for their thingy?
- You can try. Though scans are preferable, and if one of our resident comic scanning gurus like Redemption have the comic, they'll most likely overwrite yours with a scanned image. What character and what comic are they from? - JMAS Hey, it's me! 18:46, 25 March 2008 (UTC)
- When they were Brothers, It is of Assaj Ventress. The book has it that she has a mechanical eye, and I want to put that on wikia. It is a big not having an eye. LoL. I will upload pic and give it to you.

- JMAS, would I be able to take a digital picture of a comic book of star wars of acharacter and post it for their thingy?
- It does. Thanks man! Purplegethos 18:12, 25 March 2008 (UTC)

Chronicles pictures
Hi, I know I asked about this some months ago and you replied that it was difficult to extract from the book but you'd try. I was wondering if it was possible to get some of the capital ship side-drawings (or ship drawings in general) scanned from the book, or if the pages would be ruined in the process. Thanks! VT-16 16:03, 3 April 2008 (UTC)
- It would be difficult. But as long as it won't damage my books at all, I'll try for ya. Even if I have to try taking a high quality photographic picture of the pages. Which specific ones were you looking for again? - JMAS Hey, it's me! 16:07, 3 April 2008 (UTC)
- Well, the one I'm really looking for, is one with the Acclamator, Venator and Imperial shown to scale. The rest are reproduced elsewhere, and I will try to get some from the SW:CL book I have myself. :) VT-16 18:43, 3 April 2008 (UTC)
- I'll see what I can do. Might take a few days. I've got to find where the books are stored as we've been re-arranging things and putting things into storage lately. In case I get distracted one of the many things on my plate, if I don't have something for ya by the end of Saturday, remind me here please. :) - JMAS Hey, it's me! 19:37, 3 April 2008 (UTC)
- Sure thing! :) VT-16 20:05, 3 April 2008 (UTC)

I am very sorry, VT-16. There is no way to get a scan with all of them on there. Not even just the Acclamator and Venator. The page is just too big to get it to fit on the scanner. What I'm going to try next is taking and actual digital photograph with my Nikon D70 camera and see if I can get that to turn out. I'll keep you posted here. - JMAS Hey, it's me! 23:31, 10 April 2008 (UTC)

- Hey hey, how'd that camera thing work out? VT-16 15:53, 18 April 2008 (UTC)
- Still trying various methods. It really is more work that I originally thought it might be. You have to set the book somewhere on a flat surface, then open the folding page, place something under the page so it lays flat and not bent. Arrange it so that I can stand over the book looking straight down so the picture doesn't look like it's taken at an angle. That's just setting the shot up LOL. Then the built-in flash always puts a big sunflare right in the center of the image. So I've now borrowed a friends flash and will try using that by angling flash upwards at a 45 degree angle. We'll see if that works. - JMAS Hey, it's me! 15:59, 18 April 2008 (UTC)
- Great! I appreciate it! VT-16 17:15, 18 April 2008 (UTC)
- I've noticed that the Behind the Magic picture of the ISD seems to be the same as the one in the Chronicles book. There's no need to add it to the picture. Hope that makes it a little easier. :) VT-16 09:18, 19 April 2008 (UTC)
Screenshots
Hi, why did you replace http://starwars.wikia.com/wiki/File:Th_SW_EP4_0510.jpg ? Because of the too flashy colors, I suppose?... Klow 10:17, 6 April 2008 (UTC)
- Two reasons
- The image is a sharper, HD screencapture.
- The color is better. - JMAS Hey, it's me! 00:43, 7 April 2008 (UTC)
- And it was a good idea. My color settings are a bit weird, I should fix them. By the way, I saw other HD screenshots on the website. How did you manage to have a HD source while it doesn't exist yet?...Klow 17:19, 7 April 2008 (UTC)
- Sure it exists. It was played in HD on Cinemax back on 2006 I believe it was. - JMAS Hey, it's me! 19:03, 7 April 2008 (UTC)
- I see... And how come you have them? You recorded them?...Klow 20:10, 7 April 2008 (UTC)

Reverting page move vandalism
Hey JMAS, in the future, don't copy-and-paste the article's contents when reverting page move vandalism. Doing so wipes out the edit history for the article. Gonk (Gonk!) 17:27, 8 April 2008 (UTC)
- Oh, I'm sorry if I screwed it up. Good to know and noted for future reference. - JMAS Hey, it's me! 17:30, 8 April 2008 (UTC)
Chronicles
Would you be able to reupload a better version of :File:Pablo-Jill Action (2).jpg from Star Wars Chronicles: The Prequels? Thanks, -- AdmirableAckbar (Talk) 19:53, 10 April 2008 (UTC)
- Here's what I could do with it. The image just has a bunch of JPEG artifacts in it. I did what I could with Photoshop to edit them out. I keep working with it to see if I can make any more improvements. Hopefully, it will meet the requirements for FA for ya. - JMAS Hey, it's me! 23:10, 10 April 2008 (UTC)
Death Star Article
Hmm... I'm not really sure how that happened but it was definitely an accident. I used the preview button but somehow must have overlooked the deletion; I'll be more careful in the future. Thanks. Starknights88 04:50, 12 April 2008 (UTC)
Fool's Bargain
- I removed Fool's Bargain from the 21 ABY section of the New Republic Era as it already was in the 22 ABY section and the page of the book says 22 ABY. So why did you bring it back and say that 22 ABY in is this era as that was not the issue? Chris 15:50, 12 April 2008 (UTC)
- Your edit summary said "Removed Fool's Bargain as it is in 22 ABY" which I interpreted to mean you simply removed it from the page. I was unaware it was already in another section of the article. Misunderstandings like this can be avoided in the future by being just a little more descriptive in the edit summary. Thanks. - JMAS Hey, it's me! 15:54, 12 April 2008 (UTC)
JMAS, according to the history logs, you first uploaded this image [1]. Would you mind listing the source from it? Thanks. Atarumaster88 20px (Talk page) 23:08, 13 April 2008 (UTC)
- I don't know that it's an official source, but the website where I found it years ago, and it's still there is BlueHarvest.net Publicity Stills. I put that it in the image as a ROTJ publicity still found at that site. - JMAS Hey, it's me! 05:27, 14 April 2008 (UTC)
RE: Unnamed Articles

Otana?
Hey JMAS, I recently uploaded an image of the Otana and inserted it into the article. I saw that you nominated the image for deletion (I didn't realize it was a duplicate, so no issue there) and reverted the article to remove said image. The reason I added that image in and made it the main infobox pic was because it's the best shot of the ship and includes the full ship without it being cropped, which the current one does. Would you have a problem with me revising the Otana article to include the image I accidentally duplicated as the main? Don't want to step on toes here. Brandon Peat 14:06, 15 April 2008 (UTC)
- Honestly, I agree with you. I went ahead and cropped down the original version (we'll leave your's for deletion as it was slightly lower quality), placed it in the Otana article and took the previous infobox image and placed it into the YT-2000 article. - JMAS Hey, it's me! 14:22, 15 April 2008 (UTC)
- Sounds good to me. Brandon Peat 14:37, 15 April 2008 (UTC)
Re: Wampa image
Thanks. :) Wampa was my first FA and I worked really hard to get that baby up to snuff. It's my first FA, so suffice to say, I'm proud of it. :) Yes, I have Wildlife and know exactly what picture you're talking about. I think it would look nice in that section, too. Feel free to add it. Gallofree
Hey, JMAS. I reverted your edit to Gallofree because we're not doing galleries anymore. Toprawa and Ralltiir 19:57, 21 April 2008 (UTC)
- Hey, I hope there's no hard feelings or anything over this CT. Disagreements happen. I just happen to strongly dislike the appearance of galleries, but oh well. That's what makes arguments fun in a way - you argue over something and then go out and have a beer with the guy...or in this case, a virtual beer? :P Toprawa and Ralltiir 05:53, 22 April 2008 (UTC)
- No worries. :) I honestly didn't think this would stir up such a fuss. LOL. - JMAS Hey, it's me! 12:03, 22 April 2008 (UTC)

Hello again JMAS, just wondering if you could tell me how to put the welcome template on new users talk pages, also thanks for the welcome on mine - Kingpin13Cantina Battle Ground 14:06, 24 April 2008 (UTC)

Image question
How were you able to get pictures like that one from the Official Pix site, where all pictures have a Official Pix logo on top of it? Mauser 14:08, 27 April 2008 (UTC)
- Typically, any time someone has an OP image, the image is cropped to remove the logo. - JMAS Hey, it's me! 00:19, 28 April 2008 (UTC)
- On second look at this, if you are talking about the watermark logo across the middle of all image samples from the website, those are not images we use. Any OP images are ones scanned from other sources, or scanned from purchased OP images. - JMAS Hey, it's me! 17:58, 1 May 2008 (UTC)

Galleries on the Darth article
Why did you revert my edits on the Darth article? Aren't galleries in articles being phased out? They don't have them up anymore on the lightsaber form articles.--Jedi Kasra 03:02, 3 May 2008 (UTC)
- Only stand-alone gallery pages are not allowed. Selective, smaller demonstrative galleries in-article are currently being discussed to be allowed, and by the looks of the CT, will be allowed. - JMAS Hey, it's me! 03:49, 3 May 2008 (UTC)
- O.K. Well, while we're on the subject of galleries, how about the gallery on Cade Skywalker's article. Or the one on the Chief of State article? That one is the worst gallery I've seen. Is the CT the Consensus Track?--Jedi Kasra 03:55, 3 May 2008 (UTC)
- That's right. As to the one in Cade's article, it's small and demonstrative of Cade's various lightsabers, similar to the one in Obi-Wan's article. As to the Chief of State one, you are right, that is horrid. I'll be removing the "blank" images and cleaning that one up. - JMAS Hey, it's me! 04:01, 3 May 2008 (UTC)
- And I've removed the gallery again from the Darth article. And the Cade one. Whatever about our ridiculous consensus, images support text, and neither article have enough text to warrant so many pictures. -- AdmirableAckbar (Talk) 10:45, 3 May 2008 (UTC)

Listen, I am Edgeorge23 (the vandal) and I am mad at the administrators of this Wikia for the following reasons:
1). First and most important, I have to tell you that I was totally enraged when I read the administrator called SillyDan, blocked me for 3 months for being a “sockpuppet master”. I understand his stance but I swear that this is all a terrible misunderstanding. The truth is that I am not behind control of users Takuma and Bustito. The truth is that these users are my brothers who wanted a Wookiepedia account after I told them about it . Then by brothers tell me that their accounts have been blocked and then, after trying to log in with my own account, my IP was blocked. What I told you was nothing but the truth and I would love to prove you that in anyway. You got to believe me, man. I am sending you this from my friend’s computer. Three months? PS: Sorry for my poor English, it’s not my native language. because I am not. I have a certain dignity. I swear that I understand that blocking IS FAIR. And I really have to thank you for blocking me, because now I know the rules better. The accounts are really not under my control, I swear, I don’t even know their passwords…I really don’t. You have to believe me please, I am gonna get crazy!! This is a crime I did not commit!! I don’t wanna get punished for it! I really don’t! I am ready for any trials and courts, because I am innocent and I love Wookiepedia. I am ready to give, I am ready to make Wookiepedia “a better place”. I am ready to face my punishment, but not for something that I did not even do.
2).I supported my young (14y.) brother’s editings because they were fair. When he put it, you people erased it. When I put it, you kept it. Can you explain, please, cause I do not understand. Please pardon any of my questions, I’m a newbie…
I know you cannot redeem me completely from my punishment, because I was guilty about the vandalism part, I understand and I will responsibly get punished. But I strongly insist that I am innocent about the sockpuppet master thing…It still hits my nerves, you almost got me to cry when I read this, really.
Maybe I am a sort of a vandal, if you will, but definitely not a “sockpuppet master”. I do not accept any forms of punishment for being a sockpuppet master
I tell you once again that I am not the controller of these accounts, my brothers are.
Next time I will check my editings twice and consult you, too. See what you can do about my punishment. My block ID is: #28188 and I can tell you that I would be saddened if you did not punish me at all…But about the multiple accounts, this is totally unfair.
Contact me anytime for any questions about my complains and anything else. Thank You Very Much, Edgeorge23 the vandal (you started it.)
I demand my punishment to be lowered (3 months?) and to be fully reddemed of ANY charges about controlling multiple accounts.

Re: OFOW
Hey, JMAS. Good to see you back around the site. As for your question, there is no specific set number of votes necessary to move the process along. If there is a specific one that you're interested in, feel free to post it on the Administrator's Noticeboard, or approach an admin to take a look at it. Cheers, Greyman(Talk) 22:20, 9 July 2008 (UTC)
- Really? I'm an admin!? Wow, I learnt somet'in new, Pa! :P lol...what I meant to say was a "more active" admin, since due to some RL stuff I won't be around the site much in the coming days/weeks/months. However, what's the contact information for the moderator of that website you mentioned? The vote on the OFOW seems complete, so an admin just needs to contact the mod about it now. I'll take care of it, as a favour for you :P heh. Feel free to email me the mod's contact info, and I'll take it from there :) Cheers, Greyman(Talk) 22:40, 9 July 2008 (UTC)

TFU trailer pictures

The covers
Well, maybe you're right. The trick is - the ones uploaded by you a year ago are the same ones uploaded by me, simply resized to hide the imperfections of the original scans. You must Know this since we're taking them from the same source. But I agree with you: from now on I'll only upload new versions of the ones that are currently split in two. You may resize them if you want (even 1200px is still high-res), but I will put them in the articles and nominate tha halves for deletion. Agreed? Mauser 19:28, 11 July 2008 (UTC)
- Oh, BTW, I see you haven't erased Jedi Trial, Cestus Deception and Dark Rendezvous covers I've uploaded so far. Thanks for that much but you should also consider letting Dark Lord Japan live. Just make it twice smaller in size and you'll the quality of the halves that are currently on the page. Mauser 19:49, 11 July 2008 (UTC)

Thanks for the offer. :) I usually have one or more noms up on either the GAN and FAN pages at any given time. If you ever want to give them a gloss over at any time, certainly feel free. I think I've got two noms up at the moment. Toprawa and Ralltiir 22:50, 11 July 2008 (UTC)
- Ok, image request for you. :P You might be able to grab this from Behind the Magic, in the "Scene by Scene" feature for TESB. In scene 20, shot 3, there's a picture of Kesin Ommis standing next to Hobbie during the Rogue Squadron briefing scene. I'd like to stick that in the Ommis article. Toprawa and Ralltiir 14:22, 13 July 2008 (UTC)
- No, it's just immediately after that. It's the point where Hobbie says, "Two fighters against a Star Destroyer?" You can see Ommis standing on his right. Toprawa and Ralltiir 18:15, 20 July 2008 (UTC)
Neimoidian brute
Hello, I was browsing through some articles and came to the Neimoidian brute page and I noticed the picture from Threats of the Galaxy you had uploaded. I'm not sure that is the proper place for the image because the brutes being described are physically altered to be hulking, mindless beings. The one from Threats doesn't fit in. Personally, I wonder if this particular brute might actually be a Duros, though he is sitting in a mechanical chair. Maybe the picture should be moved to a separate article; after all there are articles that are very short. Xzylongann 06:15, 15 July 2008 (UTC)
- While I agree, he is a little scrawny for what I picture a brute to be, that image is meant to be a Neimoidian brute. The mechno-chair is a primary reason for this, plus Neimoidians are, as yet, the only species to be labeled with the name "brute." So until another source labels that image as being a Duros instead of a Neimoidian, it should stay where it's at. - JMAS Hey, it's me! 11:57, 15 July 2008 (UTC)
- Now we are at an interesting point, the ROTS game picture was removed by an administrator probably because there was not text to support both pictures. If you have no objections I am going to move the picture from Threats to a new article called unidentified Neimoidian brute. Xzylongann 23:10, 31 July 2008 (UTC)
- Originally the title of the artwork as assigned was going to be "Thug". The art description was for a male Duros, with punkish clothing, holding an equivalent of a tommygun. Given how much Duros despise their Nemoidian cousins, I figured it would be rather anti-establishment for this gent to be kind of enamored of their culture. Therefore, I improvised him owning a walking-chair, and "hot-rodding" it. So he's not Nemoidian, he's definitely a Duros, just a bad-news type. Bantha68 11:18, 23 September 2008 (UTC)
TOTJ
Hey,
Welcome back, and I have a request of you. Do you do TOTJ images? If so, I can use a couple of scans please. Let me know either way, thanks.—Tommy9281 20px (Peace is a lie) 21:33, 16 July 2008 (UTC)
- I certainly can, but Redemption does better scans from comics. I would suggest ask him first. If he is unable, or unwilling, then I can certainly give it a go for ya. - JMAS Hey, it's me! 21:59, 16 July 2008 (UTC)
- Thanks, but that route is unavailable to me. I can up the quality of them myself, I just need them. I recently lost all of my scans, and I'm trying to get them back. I'd greatly appreciate your help, however. I need alot, so I'll need you to tell me how much is too much. RSVP, and thanks for the reply.—Tommy9281 20px (Peace is a lie) 22:03, 16 July 2008 (UTC)
- OK then. What do you need? As long as it won't break the spine of my TPB's, I'll be glad to help. - JMAS Hey, it's me! 22:10, 16 July 2008 (UTC)
- I'll start small. If possible, for starters, I need all of Tales of the Jedi 2: Ulic Qel-Droma and the Beast Wars of Onderon, Part 2. I'll stop there for now. You can email them to me if that works (I'd appreciate it too). Thanks!—Tommy9281 20px (Peace is a lie) 22:13, 16 July 2008 (UTC)
- Small? All of... as in you need every single image from the comic? Wow. OK. That's collected in Tales of the Jedi: Knights of the Old Republic (TPB) which is what I have. So I'll just start scanning pages from it at 600 dpi, not do any editing at all, and let you do whatever editing you want from those. That sound all right? - JMAS Hey, it's me! 22:26, 16 July 2008 (UTC)
- That sounds perfect! Thank you so much for that. I'll be indebted to you for this, so your tab is open with me.—Tommy9281 20px (Peace is a lie) 22:28, 16 July 2008 (UTC)

- It's going to be a while. Considering what you're asking for, I'm not wanting to break the spines of my TPBs to get full page scans, so I've got them on order at the library. They should be in tomorrow or the next day at the latest. - JMAS Hey, it's me! 18:54, 17 July 2008 (UTC)

Does Photoshop = Fanon?
Recently, I uploaded an updated version of Bane 15.jpg which photoshopped out an extra insignificant guy in the background which, according to Talk:Darth Bane, was found to be distracting. The main content of the picture was the same, it just focused on that. I found that my change was reverted by another user with the edit description "Photoshopped = Fanon" and you commented on my talk page not to upload a duplicate of the same picture (which I interpreted as meaning that the picture was basically the same and shouldn't be reuploaded). I'm very confused about this result. I looked through Wookieepedia:Guide to image use as you suggested, but it doesn't say anything about photoshopping images. If you could please shed some light on this, I'd be very obliged. -Thunderforge 21:25, 17 July 2008 (UTC)
- I didn't realize you had edited the image, when I posted the Duplicate Images template on your talk page. As I understand the policies around here, editing out a text bubble or box in the background of an image is acceptable. However, editing out an individual, as you did, would not be considered acceptable. - JMAS Hey, it's me! 21:40, 17 July 2008 (UTC)

Syal
- I don't recall Betrayal stating that Syal was named after her aunt. Do you have a source for that or am I mistaken? Atarumaster88 20px (Talk page) 13:43, 28 July 2008 (UTC)
- Honestly, I can't recall exactly where. I'm almost certain I've read it, where it's mentioned that Myri is named after Mirax (or a nickname she had) and Syal after her aunt, which seems fairly obvious anyway. By placing it where I did, I wasn't intending the sentence to also be included in the Betrayal reference, any more than the first sentence of that paragraph is from Betrayal. But I as I can't recall the exact source, I guess I'll remove it. - JMAS Hey, it's me! 14:04, 28 July 2008 (UTC)
- Fair enough. FWIW, as Syal's parentage is mentioned in Betrayal, that sentence is ref'd from there. Atarumaster88 20px (Talk page) 16:07, 28 July 2008 (UTC)

Is there some rule they they have to stay on the "Future books" list even if they're already out? Dangerdan97 23:06, 29 July 2008 (UTC)

Lak Sivrak picture in BTM
Hi there, JMAS! I was just wondering where exactly you extracted that nice picture of Sivrak from. I searched my Behind the Magic twice and still no sign of that image. :-) Perhaps I'm just blind. Could you, please, tell me WHERE did you get it? Thanks a lot. --Darth Paulus 20px (May the Force serve you well!) 08:21, 30 July 2008 (UTC)
- I can't tell you how to navigate there through the program, since I extracted all the image files from the program itself. But it's in the Cantina Patrons subsection of the Main Characters area. Hope that helps ya. :) - JMAS Hey, it's me! 11:48, 30 July 2008 (UTC)
- Hey, thanks, pal! I now figure I'm truly blind... ;-) Still, I don't understand how did you make that tiny ugly image into that big and beautiful one... :-) --Darth Paulus 20px (May the Force serve you well!) 13:26, 30 July 2008 (UTC)

- Strange. In my copy of BtM there is no image of Sivrak and Ibegon together (only a small gallery of cantina patrons' intro page). Maybe it's just in the program itself... Anyway, thanks for help.--Darth Paulus 20px (May the Force serve you well!) 13:59, 30 July 2008 (UTC)

Re:Out Foxed
No need to apologise, it was an understandable mistake. However, the I, Jedi article is technically correct: it's the only novel to be written in first-person, but a fair few short stories -- including Labria's and Ephant Mon's and lots of WEG stuff -- have been written as such. Also, Goodwood is currently banned for about another week, so he may be slow in replying. -- AdmirableAckbar (Talk) 00:23, 7 August 2008 (UTC)

Hello, need Help.
Hello;
I am Kgrimes2... and I saw your userpage and noticed that you stated that you specialize in HTML. Could you please, if you get a chance, clean my page up?
Also... is there a guide to all of the userboxes? If there is, please post the HTTP page on my discussion page.
And about your info side bar... can you give me the HTML to that and insert that into my page as well?
How do you get that little emblem next to the username on your signature?
Thanks! P.S. Sorry, I'm a N00B to WookieePedia! <~Kg®imes2~> 05:38, 14 August 2008 (UTC)
can you help me MAKE A USER PAGE —Unsigned comment by Kgrimes2 (talk • contribs)
- Sorry JMAS if I'm using your talk page to answer the question; If you want to create a userpage, create an account, then create a page for what you named your account. Cheers. DC 21:51, 19 August 2008 (UTC)
- No problem at all DC.
Kgrimes2,
- I would recommend reading this and be certain that your user page is not your primary contribution to Wookieepedia, which as it stands, it is your only contribution.
- This will show you how to make custom userboxes. And these are template userboxes.
- On HTML, yes, I know a fair amount of HTML, enough to maintain my own website. But I am by no means an expert.
- Info side bar? If you mean the infobox, this is what you need.
- And since I don't have any emblems in my signature, I'm not sure you mean by that. But here is instructions on how to make a custom signature. - JMAS Hey, it's me! 22:12, 19 August 2008 (UTC)

Hey, JMAS. I'm working on the TIE/sh shuttle article, and I saw you uploaded :File:TIEshShuttle.jpg. I can't seem to find this picture in Star Wars: Chronicles anyplace. Are you sure this is where you got it from? Thanks. Toprawa and Ralltiir 19:58, 30 August 2008 (UTC)

Re: Soulcalibur
- Gameplay images demonstrating the game's feel and visual design, with the said Star Wars characters featured in the shot, is one thing. I wouldn't object to that. A seperate gallery of their character models -- not even during play -- is decorative and proves useless. As one of the Wookieepedians voting on the issue, you should understand all of this fairly well. From my understanding, image galleries that serve no purpose were to be eliminated in the purge, so to speak. When galleries are used for no clear reason (ie, the Soulcalibur IV gallery, or adding a gallery of different lightsabers to the Lightsaber article, despite being already linked to the images' respective pages), they have to go.
- Furthermore, after reading over many of the comments (both "Allow" and "Do not allow"), I see almost as many good points on both sides. However, my personal opinion on the matter is that "sparingly" is too wide a window (how sparingly is "sparingly"?), they only rarely prove useful (it's nice to have cover art of comic books in different languages, but what are they doing to help the article?), and as they aren't supporting any text, they are in violation of the fair use doctrine. The last of the three is reason enough for me not to use them. // ~mikah~ 19:34, 3 September 2008 (UTC)

I hate to bother you again, but...
...since we're just on a roll right now, I thought I'd talk about this up with you. I brought up a discussion regarding Appearances sections yesterday on the Manual of Style talk page, and I'm kind of disappointed I haven't gotten a response in the now near 24 hours it's been up. When making an Appearances section and its appropriate sub-sections, how specific are we to get? For example, taken directly from my post, when do we use:
===Locations=== *Kashyyyk system **Kashyyyk ***Alaris Prime ===Vehicles and vessels=== *Speeder bike **74-Z speeder bike *Transport **Multi-Utility Transport **Republic Troop Transport
as opposed to simply:
===Locations=== *Kashyyyk **Alaris Prime ===Vehicles and vessels=== *74-Z speeder bike *Multi-Utility Transport *Republic Troop Transport
I don't need an immediate response. // ~mikah~ 21:23, 3 September 2008 (UTC)
- I would say, unless the term "the planet Kashyyyk in the Kashyyyk system" or "Kashyyyk in the system of the same name", or something like that, then I would say not to put the system name under appearances. - JMAS Hey, it's me! 04:06, 4 September 2008 (UTC)

- First, sorry for editing your userpage, even though you don't seem mad. Anyway it was some time ago, I moved, couldn't come here anymore, now I recovered Internet, and I don't do edit userpages anymore, whatever my reasons were. Anyway. So I answer to you, at last! Actually I did some training with teachers, it's much more efficient that turorials. Then I learned from myself. Vector drawing is not very easy, but the results can be awesome. I'm not very good at it, but I can do some pretty ok stuff. That's all I can say. ;-) Regards, Klow 17:30, 29 November 2008 (UTC)

Sullustan Technician
I've uploaded another, hopefully clearer version of the Sullustan Technician (I named the file SullustanMechanic_secr3.jpg if you want to search for it under Recent Changes, it's not linked to any article yet). I messed up replacing the old scan from the book, and figured it would be more appropriate for you to choose to use it if you'd like, since it's your article. It's about the same size, with the same copyright status. I'm going to put something similar on my webpage (since my LucasFilm/Wizards of the Coast contract allows me to), so I don't think there's any problem with fair use. It's just a cleaner version of the same image that was printed years ago.
P.S. You may want to rename "Nemoidian Brute" back to "Duros Brute" (see article update above).

- JMAS, it looks like you've erased the file "SullustanMechanic_secr3.jpg" as a duplicate of the scanned picture, does that mean you're not interested in keeping it for Wookieepedia? It's basically the same image as was scanned, just closer to the source. Is that a vote for me not to upload my images as potential replacements? Thanks, Bantha68 21:57, 23 September 2008 (UTC)
- Never mind, the updated picture just came through :) Bantha68 22:00, 23 September 2008 (UTC)
Fair Use issues
I saw that JSarek had changed the licensing line of one of the pages to "Template:PermissionAndFairUse", and so I changed the Sullustan Technician to reflect that. It looks like you changed it back to "FairUse", and since the other one made the distinction between permission being granted but not by third parties, I guess this is the way to go. After seeing your edit to the Hapes ship, I changed the Sullustan page back. --Bantha68 20:20, 24 September 2008 (UTC)
- Gotcha. Thanks for the heads up. Every other image scanned from a Wizard's sourcebook gets the regular, Fairuse tag, but I guess because these were provided by you, the artist, jSarek felt the need to change the tag. Thanks for providing them, BTW, in case no one else shows their appreciation. :) - JMAS Hey, it's me! 21:19, 24 September 2008 (UTC)
Ginivex source change
JMAS, I noticed that you'd removed the "uploaded by the artist" bit from the Ginivex-class starfighter image page. Shall I remove this from the other pages as well? --Bantha68 00:05, 28 September 2008 (UTC)
- It was an inadvertent removal. I copied the template from the old Ginivex image and pasted over it. I think it's fine if it's there or if it's not. If it's not, and your name is in the "Artist" category, anyone can click on your user name down in the upload history box which will take them to your user page, which will in turn link them back to the Mark Tedin article ... so it's a bit more roundabout ... so, yeah, might as well leave it in for expedience. Random stupidity
Stop sending me that hello message. It's annoying. You know what I speak of, and do not act like you do. If so powerful you are why message me? Faith in the messaging system misplace may be, as is your faith in the annoying side of the Force. If you don't stop you will experience the true power of the dark side. Much to learn you still have. Re: Mandalore the Indomitable
Hey, JMAS. Thanks a lot for that picture — I won't have access to be able to buy the Campaign Guide for another few weeks, so I appreciate you taking the initiative and scanning it for me :) It's always good to see users around here willing to help each other without being asked. Talk to you soon, Greyman(Talk) 14:12, 9 October 2008 (UTC)

If I email you several images, can you clean them up for me for uploading? By clean up I mean, whiting out the text bubbles, speckling, etc.? Please advise, thanks.—Tommy9281 20px (Peace is a lie) 13:50, 15 October 2008 (UTC)
