Good work on the Gallery of races and species. However, please check the individual species first for images already there. I've noticed that some of the images you've uploaded are already here. For example, your File:Nautolan-gleeanselm.jpg was already here in File:Kit Fisto 2.jpg. Also, don't forget to link the planets as well. Otherwise, good job! -- Cato Neimoidia 01:15, 23 May 2006 (UTC)

  • Also, I'd like to know if File:Verpine-roche.jpg is fan art (i.e. a modified version of the line drawing from Galaxy Guide 4) or art from some official source. Thanks. —Silly Dan (talk) 21:37, 23 May 2006 (UTC)
    • Kindly stop adding pictures from Darksaber's website (some of the images of starfighter's you have added come from there) as they are in fact fanart and now have to be deleted. —Jaymach Ral'Tir (talk) 23:02, 5 July 2006 (UTC)
      • Do not continue to re-upload pictures that have either been deleted, you do not know the source for, or are definitely from a fanon source. If you continue to do so then I shall ban you, as I have warned you twice now. —Jaymach Ral'Tir (talk) 13:08, 6 July 2006 (UTC)
        • This problem is easily avoided by listing the original source for the image when you upload it. If the original source is another website, chances are good that the pic is fanart. -- Darth Culator 13:12, 6 July 2006 (UTC)
          • In addition to all of this, please check articles before uploading pictures as I notice you have been uploading several duplicates of images we already have, which is simply wasting space. If you want to upload a better quality picture of one we already have, then simlpy go to that image and click the "Upload a new version of this file" button. —Jaymach Ral'Tir (talk) 13:11, 14 July 2006 (UTC)
  • Hi there! You're uploading a lot of NEGVV pictures, and it's great, but why are they so "blurry"? It's too bad, cause the res & the colors are great, but this "blurry" aspect ruins them... Kaal 17:18, 14 July 2006 (UTC)

The Archives Charector section.

in the Charector section you should change the ones that didn't have starwars.com bios to Wookieepedia Or CUSWE,com becaus TheForce.net's version of the CUSWE is no longer functioning. allso in number 5 under Wedge that's Tycho Valin "Tnu" "Shido" Suul

No prob I'm just glad to help. you ganna switch to Wookieepedia or CUSWE.com? Oh and about Aar'be Simara sheirly out of curiocity. what did you base his Birthdate on? did you use the Officail IU-OOU system? (meanign the date you were born IRL in comparison to 1977 being 0 ABY/BBY) or did you just make somethign up? it just came to my mind caus i just recently found out how to place my birth date in ABY/BBY form.

No problme

Nevermind I see! i see the Acronym!

File:Liberty.jpg

I noticed you reverted this image to an earlier version. Was there a reason for that? I changed it just so there would be more of the ship visible and it wouldn't look so black and muddled. I'd just like to know because I'd prefer to edit it back to higher contrast if possible to better illustrate the view, but I'm totally open to other suggestions. Just wondering. Wildyoda 05:12, 13 December 2006 (UTC)

  • The higher contrast version is grainy looking and much too bright, and in my opinion is a lesser quality image. However, I'm up for letting other Wookieepedians decide. Let's leave it as it is right now. I've started a discussion the Image's talk page asking people to compare the two versions and voice which one they think is better. :) - JMAS 18:15, 13 December 2006 (UTC)

  • LOL Wow, thanks for visiting. I don't really know that I can make that claim myself. But as far as media goes (pics, audio, video clips, etc) I probably do have one of the larger collections out there. But that's primarily what my site focuses on, and it's a little shy on the informative side of things. Which I why on character bios and such, I link back to either the sw.com databank, the CUSWE or here. - JMAS 00:43, 12 January 2007 (UTC)

picture permission

I am asking if i can get permission to upload a picture for my signarture? Or should i ask somebody els? PaleontologistFile:Alosaurus_--.jpg|20px

  • Is it a picture you found from my website? Unless it's specifically marked as one I created or edited myself from my page, you can feel free to save any image from my site. If you are just asking for general permission for uploading pictures here to Wookieepedia, I'm not sure why you are asking me, as I'm not an administrator. =) - JMAS 15:56, 16 February 2007 (UTC)
    • I asked it wrong, i mean is it oké to save pictures from your website. But living in Holland for a total of 8 years can kinda mess up your English. Great website! PaleontologistFile:Alosaurus_--.jpg|20px
      • You don't have to apologize for your english when it's not your primary spoken language. As for the pictures, go for it. =) One tip though, the pic you have attached to your signature is too big. I'm fairly certain images in signatures are supposed to be displayed at no more than 45px high. It also appears like you are hotlinking that image directly from some other website. Unless it is your personal website, you need to save the image to your own server. Hope those are some helpful tips. - JMAS 20:55, 17 February 2007 (UTC)
        • Thanks for the tips! Now where taling anyway how can i get rid of this weird Wanted Pages template on my userpage? If you dont now how to can you point me someone who can help me?
          • When viewing your User page, Just click on the edit tab up at the top. Delete the template, and replace it with whatever info you want. :) Click on any long time user's page and you can get ideas for how you'd like to make the layout of your page. Or you can ask any administrator. Oh, also, I checked the signature policy and the max image height of an image in your sig is 20px. - JMAS 03:23, 19 February 2007 (UTC)

Presentations and Peacocks

I know this may sound silly, but I want to thank you for all of the images you've added to the Padmé Amidala's wardrobe article, I was wondering how I was going to swindle someone out of Dressing a Galaxy to get some of the pics. For the moment, the article is one of my pet projects. As it is, I can't find a picture anywhere of her Nightgown from ROTS, and the only pictures I can find of her 'Peacock' dress are File:Star wars episode three poster2.jpg|here, File:Revenge of the sith ost.jpg|here, and in the very center of this. I apologize for asking for more since you've done so much, but can you please help with this? Thank you very much. -Solus (Bird of Prey) 20:34, 9 March 2007 (UTC)

  • Most welcome. Which nightgown? The veranda nightgown? With the pearl straps? Or the Aqua nightgown she is wearing when Anakin visits her after wiping out the Jedi Temple? - JMAS 20:43, 9 March 2007 (UTC)
    • She has two of them in ROTS? ...Shows how observant I am. Both of them, if it's okay with you. Thanks again. -Solus (Bird of Prey) 20:46, 9 March 2007 (UTC)

Thanks for uploading all these awesome screenshots. May I request two more? One closeup of Sors Bandeam, and a high-def version of File:Vader1.jpg, specifically. --ATATatarismall.png 21:38, 10 March 2007 (UTC)

  • If I can track them down, sure thing. And by closeup of Sors Bandeam, do you mean as in a headshot? If so, that one I just uploaded is all I have, and cropping is the only way I'd have of getting a headshot. - JMAS 21:53, 10 March 2007 (UTC)
    • OK, the File:Vader1.jpg one is done. - JMAS 21:56, 10 March 2007 (UTC)

  • I do not own it, sadly. When I scanned images from it, I had checked it out from my local library. Are you in the United States? If so, you might want to look at your local library and see about checking a copy out. - JMAS 16:55, 14 March 2007 (UTC)

Order 66 Casualty Reports

  • Once again, those casualty reports should NOT be added to articles. They were deleted once before, and the reasons behind that haven't changed. QuentinGeorge 06:10, 16 March 2007 (UTC)
    • If you look at Image_talk:66-plokoon.jpg you'll see the discussion between LtNOWIS, and myself about this. At the time they were uploaded the first time, by me, I was newer here, and did not have the source for the images. They were scanned by a friend from his issue of SW Insider, but I didn't know that. Then once I had my own copy, I scanned them and reuploaded them with source, thinking the reason they had been deleted before was they didn't have a source. Also, last time, they were all grouped together into one gallery, not each into separate articles. As they are broken up into all the different articles of the different Jedi, it seems to be to be alright because it's not just copying the entire content of the Insider article into a single place. As they are placed now, I don't see how they are any different that someone scanning an image with a caption test from DAG or some other such reference book. - JMAS 12:12, 16 March 2007 (UTC)
      • Sorry, bout that. Didn't know that was exactly how the original thing was. -- Cato Neimoidia 18:04, 23 March 2007 (UTC)

Stop!

Why did you take all of my pictures off of my page? I want you to put them back now! Thanks, Quinlanfan 20:03, 27 March 2007 (UTC)

  • Try using your eyes before throwing a tantrum. What I did was re-upload an image that was in PNG format and make it a JPG image instead. And so you wouldn't have a blank userbox image after the PNG got deleted, I was kind enough to change the image tag from png to jpg. You are welcome. - JMAS 20:10, 27 March 2007 (UTC)

Well, all of my subpages and uploaded pictures are wiped out. When I was there the other day they were there. On my page history it said you were the only one on there besides me. How do you explain that? Quinlanfan 20:20, 27 March 2007 (UTC)

  • How very logical of you. I don't suppose you looked at your user page history to see exactly what it was that I did. Neither, I suspect have you noticed the The Happy Fun User Page Super Friendly Cleanup Project announcement that has, until today, been announced at the top of every page for the past 4 days. Nor have you bothered to look at the most recent post on your own talk page to see the explaination from the Admin who did remove all the information and images. - JMAS 20:46, 27 March 2007 (UTC)

My page did not aply to that. I had ONE page of fannon and THREE pictures uploaded from my PC. Quin

Galleries on saber form articles

  • I really don't see the point of the gallery, tbh. Every user is already listed in the users section on Form IV and Form V. It really serves no purpose, but I figured I'd ask you what you saw in it rather than get into an edit war. Atarumaster88 20px (Audience Chamber) 21:50, 4 April 2007 (UTC)
    • I can see your point. IMO, that big blob of user links in a single paragraph doesn't look very good. My suggestion would be to eliminate that paragraph, and make it the gallery instead. Or barring a gallery, then make it into an actual list, not a mass grouping of links in a paragraph. How's that sound? - JMAS 22:43, 4 April 2007 (UTC)
      • Um, to be honest, that's opposite my view on encyclopedia content. I'm a big fan of prose over pictures. The paragraph can explain more details and give more context than a gallery or list. But again, since it's up to the community, I've put up votes on Form IV and Form V's talk pages (Talk:Form IV: Ataru and Talk:Form V: Shien / Djem So over the gallery or not. The other forms I'm not disputing right now since they don't have users sections. Cheers. Atarumaster88 20px (Audience Chamber) 02:55, 5 April 2007 (UTC)
        • If you would, go take a look at the article with the edit I just made (don't worry, I didn't put the gallery back). I changed "User" subheading to be "Known practitioners" and changed that first paragraph of clumped together name links into a list. If that edit meets your approval, I'm willing to forgo my vote to keep the gallery. - JMAS 03:15, 5 April 2007 (UTC)
          • Heh. Imp reverted it. I looked at it and saw what you did, but I'm still not a big fan. I figure the vote is the best way to figure things out. Atarumaster88 20px (Audience Chamber) 21:58, 5 April 2007 (UTC)

  • Please don't change the main image. The other is a) Not a portrait and b) Stretches the infobox needlessly. QuentinGeorge 21:05, 10 May 2007 (UTC)
    • 1) There isn't any guideline that says the infobox has to be a portrait. 2) The image in there now is a crappy image. I'll find or crop another image from the Republic comics that is a portrait, and won't stretch the infobox, if you're going to insist on that, but I'm not going to leave the main image as a CW cartoon unless there are no other images available (Like in the case of Foul Moudama and Voolvif Monn). - JMAS 22:10, 10 May 2007 (UTC)
      • There's been a general consensus that we're moving that way. Have a look at most of character articles. I don't object to a comic image, but now there's a repeated image there (the same picture of K'Kruhk is at the Siege of Saleucami section). QuentinGeorge 22:23, 10 May 2007 (UTC)
        • It is a duplicate, but let's leave it as is for right now. I've got all the TPB's of the Republic comics sitting right here next to me. I'll see if I can either find a different one of him from the Siege of Saleucami to replace the one in that section (leaving the current one in the infobox) or I'll scan another good portrait style shot from somewhere else in one of the comics. How's that sound? - JMAS 22:27, 10 May 2007 (UTC)

Holocron

I am curious about why you reverted my edit to holocron. All I did was mentioned the existence of Data holocrons, which are holocrons that don't require force sensitivity to use. It makes sense that the main Holocron article would at least mention the existence of data holocrons, since they are a type of holocron. And yet you removed it for some reason, so why did you remove it? As a type of holocron, it certainly deserves mention in the article.151.203.186.52 04:49, 14 May 2007 (UTC)

  • Cite a source for it and you can put it back. - JMAS 04:59, 14 May 2007 (UTC)
    • Did you read the Data holocron article? it gives a source. quote from that article: A data holocron was a type of holocron that could be accessed by non-Force sensitives. The data holocron article lists The New Essential Chronology as it's source. I'm adding back mention of data holocrons to the holocron article. 151.203.186.52 05:35, 14 May 2007 (UTC)
      • OK then. - JMAS 05:37, 14 May 2007 (UTC)

Free Falling

You can't free fall in space. What you said on the LAAT/i talk page was just.... (reverential sigh) Dude, never were truer words spoken. The thought didn't even occur to me. But no gravity=no falling. --LtCol. JuiceStain 23:27, 29 May 2007 (UTC)

Screencap Software?

I saw you screencapped the infobox pic for Jek Porkins and was wondering what player you used to get the image so crisp at 1200px x 800px. I've been trying to capture new images for some of the other pilots like Naytaan and even at source resolution, the colors still bleed a bit and look slightly pixelated. I'm using PowerDVD and Photoshop CS2. Thanks. - Brynn Alastayr 22:42, 2 June 2007 (UTC)

  • Actually, I don't have them in HD myself. I got all those screencaps from an aquaintance of mine. Not sure what he used though. Sorry. - JMAS 23:57, 2 June 2007 (UTC)

Please reload it under a different image name. Thank you. —Grand Admiral J. Nebulax (Imperial Holovision) 20px 22:52, 13 June 2007 (UTC)

  • I notice you re-reverted back to the version I uploaded. Still want me to upload mine with a different file name? Or did you chance you mind? - JMAS 22:55, 13 June 2007 (UTC)

Tagging

What exactly is tagging an image? Can I help?--Darthtyler (talk) (HSM RKY) 03:48, 25 June 2007 (UTC)

  • Tagging an image is another way to link a picture to an article. And it also then creates a gallery of all the images with that tag on it. For example, take File:Vader-SWEMP19.jpg. If you pull of that image page, you see "In this image: a link to the Darth Vader article (which will take to to of course, Anakin Skywalker). Then next to that is a link labeled "image" and if you click that link, it will take you to the gallery will every image on Wookieepedia that is tagged "Darth Vader". - JMAS 03:54, 25 June 2007 (UTC)
  • I don't know if you're a Rogue Squadron expert, but some times ago, I've uploaded a great picture (the Rogue Squadron Handbook cover ), in which we see a lot of members. It would be really nice to tag every character depicted in it, but I don't know enough the physical look of those characters to do it myself. Can you do it? Or do you know a member who can handle it? Thanks ;) Kaal 14:21, 25 June 2007 (UTC)
  • Hi... got your note on my talk page about the image tagging. I'm getting a doc together to revamp that feature and I'll add your suggestion. Any others that would make this feature more useful for you guys? Thanks, Johnq (talk) 07:44, 18 July 2007 (UTC)

Casualty Report

  • Once again I have deleted these, since they are complete article scans rather than images of characters. Please don't reupload them again. QuentinGeorge 10:05, 25 June 2007 (UTC)
    • I disagree with the reasoning, but I'll respect it and not upload them again. - JMAS 16:55, 25 June 2007 (UTC)

Re:

  • For some reason, I had to completely unprotect it to enable tagging- something we should probably talk to Wikia about eventually. You're welcome. Atarumaster88 20px (Talk page) 21:30, 26 June 2007 (UTC)
  • My scope's not showing anything. It should be fully unprotected- the upload page worked just fine for me. Try it again, and if that doesn't work, let me know. Atarumaster88 20px (Talk page) 17:24, 27 June 2007 (UTC)
  • My fault. One of my talk page archives included it and I had cascading protection turned on for a reason I no longer recall. Should be unlocked now. -- Darth Culator (Talk) 17:32, 27 June 2007 (UTC)
    • There we go. Thanks DC, and Atarumaster. - JMAS 17:34, 27 June 2007 (UTC)

Factual errors

I also apologize for any sort of factual errors i put up including saying that escape from dagu isn't canon The story was apparently completed when it was decided to scrap it in favor of Yoda: Dark Rendezvous, due to greater public appeal to Yoda. However, Darc, Dagu, and Shaak Ti's mission were referenced in Republic HoloNet News Core Edition 14:3:22 and The Official Star Wars Fact File 116, making-the general storyline of Escape from Dagu is still canon. Unsigned comment by Asajj (talk • contribs)

  • And you'll notice after you put it back after my removing it, I saw that and did not remove it again. Also, if you are unsure how to properly use someone's talk page, then don't do it at all rather than putting it dead center in the middle of my user page. Thank you. - JMAS 19:06, 12 July 2007 (UTC)

Gossam

The Gossam/Givin pic was uploaded because the Gossam on its own is poorly proportioned - too long and thin. Having another alien also helps to provide scale. Comments? --Eyrezer 04:53, 17 July 2007 (UTC)

  • I can see your point, but to me, that seems unnecessary. The average height of a Gossam is in the article infobox so it just seems a waste of server space to upload an image that basically duplicates two separate images. - JMAS 04:56, 17 July 2007 (UTC)
    • Seeing as you've cut out the background, do you think you could make it more squareish? A little slice more white on either side? --Eyrezer 05:10, 17 July 2007 (UTC)
      • Thanks. --Eyrezer 23:11, 18 July 2007 (UTC)

HiRes covers?

Hey man, I've seen your recent HiRes cover uploads and been wondering where you got 'em from. Particularly the LotF and RC ones are in a stunningly high resolution, and being sorta a HD fanatic, I always wanna get a hold of hi def stuff. Thanks. ~ Tracyn (Talk) 15px 12:19, 29 July 2007 (UTC)

  • Fantastic aren't they? I got them here. They are in very large file sized TIF format, none under 1Mb and most averaging around 7-8Mb each, which I then coverted to JPG format using Photoshop. - JMAS 22:54, 29 July 2007 (UTC)

McQuarrie

Hey JMAS-- I'm going to start work on the articles relating to the second draft to Episode IV. Much of McQuarrie's conceptual art for A New Hope derived from that draft. If you want to lend a hand as opportunities arise and add McQuarrie art to the conceptual articles (none yet...) I'd appreciate it. I'm without a scanner at the moment, and you seem to have an interest on the subject. Thanx--Jeffbacca 01:02, 1 August 2007 (UTC)

Re:

Hey JMAS, thanks for bringing that to my attention. The consensus on IRC was that they were fanon, and if they were not provided with sources, then they were to be deleted. However, if you have a source for them, then just leave me another msg about it and I'd be happy to undelete them for you :) Cheers, Greyman(Paratus) 18:10, 6 August 2007 (UTC)

  • I don't have a source that I'm aware of but I'll peruse what I do have. Having worked on those two particular articles, I remembered them using that term so I thought I'd bring it to your attention. :) - JMAS 18:40, 6 August 2007 (UTC)

Image from Chronicles: The Prequels

I noticed you've uploaded many pictures from this book, so I assume you've got a copy. I would very much like the picture showing the Imperial-class, Venator-class and Acclamator-class in comparison. I intend to use it on one or more Star Destroyer related articles. :) VT-16 18:12, 6 August 2007 (UTC)

BTL-S3 Y-wing image

I'm looking for an image for this fighter. The Y-wing on BFII is a two man craft, but i don't know if there are sources to support it being an S3 model. The page references SW:ICS, is there a photo in that book, my copy is not with me. Can you give me a hand? Unsigned comment by Mistau1 (talk • contribs)

  • I certain would if I could, but I don't own any of the ICS books. Sorry. - JMAS 21:20, 6 August 2007 (UTC)
  • I have the books and will look, but the only thing I can remember is the same model used in the films. The difference is strictly internal. VT-16 06:50, 7 August 2007 (UTC)
  • What do you think about the two man Y-wing from Battlefront II? Unsigned comment by Mistau1 (talk • contribs)
    • First, you always want to sign your comments with 4 tildes ~~~~. Second, unless BFII explicitly states that the Y-wing you are referring to is the BTL-S3, then someone else will almost certainly challenge it and remove the image. I do understand your wanting to have a picture for that particular Y-wing model, but sometimes there just isn't one to be found. - JMAS 15:28, 7 August 2007 (UTC)
    • If the characters can actually be seen inside it in the game, that would be it. Do you have a picture? VT-16 16:04, 7 August 2007 (UTC)
      • Sadly, no, I don't. I don't own BFII, just the original BF. And every screenshot I've ever seen from BF or BFII of a starfighter (A, B, X, Y), the cockpit windows are always tinted, so you can never see any individuals in it. - JMAS 17:01, 7 August 2007 (UTC)
        • It appears that Jack Nebulax added a graphic to the page. It's from SWG, I'm curious how he knew it's the S3 model.--MIS Tau 1 12:23, 8 August 2007 (UTC)
          • Actually, he removed the image, because it wasn't of the S-3, it was just a regular BTL Y-wing from SWG. - JMAS 18:05, 8 August 2007 (UTC)
            • Actually I beleive I wrongly accused Nebulax from posting the image, I misread the history text. However yet another photo has been added, You should take a look at it. I posted another message on the page asking for proof for the photo.--MIS Tau 1 18:45, 8 August 2007 (UTC)
              • Already took care of it. ;) - JMAS 18:52, 8 August 2007 (UTC)
                • Roger that, Ya'll have me watching pages these pages like a hawk now. In a side note, how can I source a graphic?--MIS Tau 1 19:40, 8 August 2007 (UTC)
  • Go look here. Right above the part where you actually upload the file. Read that and use that information template on an image. - JMAS 20:41, 8 August 2007 (UTC)

Imperial submarine

Hmm sorry about that trouble with the Imperial submarine. I was just a little confused as to why not only the second image was removed, but why you put the earlier concept art with less detail as the official, canonical image instead of in the Behind The Scenes section. Anyway if you think the image is redundant, remove the entire Behind The Scenes section. Tony Knightcrawer 09:13, 13 August 2007 (UTC)

  • The entire BtS section doesn't need to go. But the two images are virtually idetical, so having them both in the article is redundant. I chose the one that you said is earlier art because it seemed to be clearer and less grainy looking. - JMAS 16:10, 13 August 2007 (UTC)

Excuse Me

I was just on the gallery of images you've contributed and I spotted this one. File:LvV.jpg|thumb|right I contributed this one, not you. I am a little...perturbed that you listed it among your contributions when its my handiwork. Darth Vatrir

  • And have you looked at the image page recently? Not even a minute after you uploaded the image, I uploaded a high resolution version of the image to replace it. - JMAS 06:01, 15 August 2007 (UTC)

The Dented Helmet External Links

Hello. I noticed you removed my external links to The Dented Helmet from both the Jango Fett entry and Boba Fett entry. I didn't see a reason listed and would like to know why these links were removed as I feel these are very helpful links for people who would like to know more about the costumes used. - Art Unsigned comment by Braks Buddy (talk • contribs)

  • As I understand Wookieepedia policy: unless it is a canon, Lucasfilm licensed, or site that is an official friend of Wookieepedia, then they are not to be put in IU articles. - JMAS 03:18, 16 August 2007 (UTC)

watchlist question

just a new user asking what is probobly a stupid question, but what do the little +XXX and -XXX's mean on my watchlist? Admiral Carth Onasi 20:12, 20 August 2007 (UTC)

  • I'll be honest, I'm not sure. My guess is that you don't have any articles on your watchlist and so there are only X's listed until you have some. - JMAS 20:25, 20 August 2007 (UTC)
    • I meant the x's to represnt the numbers actually appearing there, like "pay me X dollars" or something like that. the numbers are anywhere from -93 to +200. Admiral Carth Onasi 20:31, 20 August 2007 (UTC)
      • Ohhhhh. That is the number of characters (letters, numbers, spaces, etc) added or subtracted during an edit. - JMAS 20:42, 20 August 2007 (UTC)

FWG-5 flechette pistol

This page is in need of a graphic. I don't have my manual with me, I figured this would be right up your alley.--MIS Tau 1 02:48, 25 August 2007 (UTC)

      • I've scanned every image from the NEGWT. This isn't one of them. - JMAS 12:01, 25 August 2007 (UTC)
        • Strange, I believe that the FWG-5 is in the orginal EGWT.--MIS Tau 1 22:53, 25 August 2007 (UTC)
          • Oh, well it might be in the original EGWT. I don't know as I don't have that. But it is not in the NEGWT. - JMAS 00:14, 26 August 2007 (UTC)

JPG

I used Photoshop, actually. This was through the "Save For Web" dialog, with the quality set at 100. Black areas looked extraordinarily ugly on both. - Lord Hydronium 07:16, 3 September 2007 (UTC)

  • I see. I simply used the "Save As" option set for "Quality: 12/Maximum" which probably isn't any different from what you did. I honestly can't see any difference, but since having it in PNG format doesn't make the file size extraordinarily huge like it does with most other live action screenshots or comic scans, I don't see any reason to change it. The only time I think it should be JPG over PNG is when the file size is much larger, but no difference in the image quality as PNG. So these might as well just stay as is. - JMAS 07:39, 3 September 2007 (UTC)

Pic pic

Hello JMAS. Do you have a physical copy of Dark Forces: Rebel Agent? I have it in digital form without the pictures, so I'm not even sure if there is one, but if there is a picture of Pic/Gorc in it, would you be able to upload it for me? Thanks, -- 40pxdmirableAckbar (It's A Trap!) 20:18, 12 September 2007 (UTC)

  • I don't own those graphic novels myself. Sorry. But I can see if they are available at my local library. - JMAS 20:21, 12 September 2007 (UTC)
    • If that's convenient for you, then that would be great, but if it isn't then there's no need. Either way, there's no rush. Thanks, -- 40pxdmirableAckbar (It's A Trap!) 20:23, 12 September 2007 (UTC)
  • I actually own this book, but there're only two pics for Gorc and Pic. The first one is already here on wookieepedia. You can find it on Gorc and Pic's articles. The second, depicting only Gorc, I'm not sure if it has already been uploaded, but you can find it hereon Ezra Tucker's website, the illustrator of this book. ;) -- Kaal 22:01, 12 September 2007 (UTC)
    • Yeah, I've got that image also, from Ezra Tucker's site. I didn't upload it or use it because the lightsaber blade color isn't canon. Both Gorc and Pic's lightsabers were yellow/gold in color. - JMAS 22:33, 12 September 2007 (UTC)
      • Thanks Kaal. JMAS, there's no longer any need to check out the book in the library. Thanks, -- 40pxdmirableAckbar (It's A Trap!) 22:44, 12 September 2007 (UTC)

Upscaling

I've been noticing sometimes that you upscale images from their original resolution, using what appears to be Microsoft Paint (correct me if I'm wrong). Upscaling is generally an image no-no. Increasing the dimensions of the file isn't going to add new information to the image; it only distorts it, often creating File:Camie2.jpg|jagged lines, revealing compression artifacts, or just showing pixelation. High resolution images are great, but enlarging an image does not add resolution, it just stretches what's already there, resulting in nothing bigger numbers as poorer quality. -- Ozzel 00:55, 13 September 2007 (UTC)

  • Actually, the program I use is Photoshop CS. But on that particular image of Camie, it was a screenshot taken directly off of the bonus features of the Episode IV DVD. And then in that instance, pasted as a new image into MS Photo Editor, then cropped the extraneous other material from the screen capture to just the image and saved. That one I did off of another computer not my own however, so I apologize if the quality wasn't great, though it didn't seem poor to me. - JMAS 00:59, 13 September 2007 (UTC)

Gonk fan image

Hey JMAS, is there any chance that you have a canon image of the Gonk droid to replace the fan image? We're probably going to just tag the image as a user image, but to replace the image on that page, do you have any suggestions? Cull Tremayne 23:39, 13 September 2007 (UTC)

Hey JMAS, I just wanted to let you know that File:Beast Wars.jpg|this is not of the Beast Wars of Onderon. Nomi Sunrider never fought in the Beast Wars, in fact, she was not even a Jedi at this time. I thought I should let you know. Greyman(Paratus) 13:51, 28 September 2007 (UTC)

Odan-Urr image

Might I ask why you put File:Odan-Urr head.jpg up for IFD. It isn't a duplicate: it's a version cropped intentionally for a headshot for the infobox, per 4dot's request on the FAN page. -- AdmirableAckbar [Talk] 16:35, 5 October 2007 (UTC)

  • That image is also used on the lightsaber article page to illustrate an ancient lightsaber that didn't have its own internal power source. You cropped the image too much. If you look at the image in the Odan-Urr article now, I took the full image, cropped it down, not as severely cropped as your version, so it suits both needs for both articles, and then marked yours for IFD as a duplicate. - JMAS 16:55, 5 October 2007 (UTC)
    • Ah ok, thanks, -- AdmirableAckbar [Talk] 17:00, 5 October 2007 (UTC)

KOTOR images

  • I'm pretty certain they were from GameSpot. - JMAS 16:51, 6 October 2007 (UTC)

KOTOR Concept art

OK, here's the thing, when you add a source to an image, cite the actual source, not a made up one. KOTOR concept art clearly does not come from the game itself, which you are citing. If anything, this action is destructive, rather than constructive. So, if you don't have the real source, please, don't cite anything. Thefourdotelipsis 04:22, 7 October 2007 (UTC)

  • No problem, I'll get right on that. - JMAS 04:24, 7 October 2007 (UTC)

Pictures

Hey. I see you have Tales of the Jedi: Fall of the Sith Empire listed in your collection on your userpage, and I know you've a good scanner. If the TPB is in good nick, would you be able to upload better versions of these: File:Simus1.jpg, File:SimusDeath.jpg and File:Simus2.jpg? They can all be found in issue three, about halfway into the TPB. Thanks, -- AdmirableAckbar [Talk] 09:25, 7 October 2007 (UTC)

  • I'll see what I can do. - JMAS 23:59, 7 October 2007 (UTC)
    • Got the Simus1.jpg and Simus2.jpg done, but the SimusDeath image, is probably as good as I could get it, since it's on the spine of the TPB. - JMAS 00:53, 8 October 2007 (UTC)

Sylvar

Hi, I was wondering if you might be able to help me with something. Imperialles posted some image objections on the Featured Article Nomination for Sylvar. Grey-man and I took care of the cropping ones, but we don't have the capability to clean up or rescan the .jpg artifact images. Do you have means with which to rescan the images, or clean them up? The objected-to images are:

  • Done
  • Done
  • Done

If you can help us, thanks in advance. If not, I understand, and thanks anyway.—Graestan 20px (This party's over) 23:33, 10 October 2007 (UTC)

  • I won't be able to scan them any better, the same JPG artifacts would be present. And practly, I think Imps objections are rediculous. It's a comic drawing for crying out loud. There are going to be some "artifacts" no matter what you do. And these three images are NOT bad at all. But I'll see what I can do to despeckle some of the artifacts out when I get home from work. - JMAS 23:38, 10 October 2007 (UTC)
    • Thanks. Anything you can do would be greatly appreciated. I thought they were good images, myself. You should see some of the other TOTJ comic images floating around. I'll talk to Imp about the reasonability of it all once you're done. Thanks again!—Graestan 20px (This party's over) 23:41, 10 October 2007 (UTC)
      • OK, did what I could, though it wasn't much. As a comic scan, you just have to deal with some jpg artifacts. - JMAS 02:48, 11 October 2007 (UTC)

RE:Annoying thing at top of infobox

What you do is put the refs in the infobox between a {{Ref| and a }}, like this--{{Ref|(ref)}}. And then it disappears. That's a little trick I've learned by hanging around the recent changes. Hope that helps. Unit 8311 16:40, 11 October 2007 (UTC)

Re:TOTJ Project

Thanks for the offer to help out, JMAS. I'm currently working on a complete rewrite/expansion or the Great Sith War, and I know there are several other projects on the go among the projects other users. I'll get the word out to them on IRC regarding your offer. If I do (and I probably will) come across any pictures I need, either for the GSW or other future projects, I'll be sure to let you know. 3RR

You have broken the Three-revert rule, and this is your warning. The next instance will result in a ban. In the future, please discuss any differing opinions with the editors involved before you revert. Thanks. -- Ozzel 04:17, 18 October 2007 (UTC)

Nice try

Tsk, tsk. Going behind my back to try to get your block lifted. That might have worked in the past, but now we have a rule specifically designed to prevent that. Funny thing is, since I knew you were now aware of the ongoing quantity-over-quality CT in the Senate Hall and I got the feeling you understood that I wasn't the only one who was tired of your shenanigans, I considered unblocking you early. Now it seems that maybe you didn't get the point, so there's NO chance of that happening now. :-) -- Darth Culator (Talk) 22:55, 22 October 2007 (UTC)

Source for image

Would you be able to provide a more specific source for the following picture you uploaded? File:TOTJDLOTS2-FC.jpg. It's currently in an article that I have up for FAN, and one of the objections is to the source of this picture. Currently it says that it is the cover art of Tales of the Jedi: Dark Lords of the Sith 2: The Quest for the Sith, which technically it is. But the actual cover art is seen in this picture. Did you get File:TOTJDLOTS2-FC.jpg from a website hosting artwork of Hugh Fleming's, maybe? Or did you find it another publication somewhere? If you would be able to provide the specific source for that image it would be much appreciated. Thanks, Greyman(Paratus) 19:01, 28 October 2007 (UTC)

Still doing it

Good Lord, man! Look in the top right quarter of File:Galactic_Senate.png! Do you not SEE what doesn't belong there? Is it your monitor or your eyes that are defective? -- Darth Culator (Talk) 02:26, 29 October 2007 (UTC)

Good "Executor" pic

I love the pic of Vader's med chamber from down the hall. Nice work! Toprawa and Ralltiir 02:18, 31 October 2007 (UTC)
