Wookieepedia is a volunteer-maintained wiki community that aims to comprehensively and accurately document official Star Wars media, creators, and their stories, including both the Legends and current canon continuities. The Wookieepedia community strives to create a friendly and welcoming environment for all readers and contributors and includes the Discussions forum and official Discord server.

Since our founding in 2005, the wiki has been hosted by the Fandom company on its Fandom platform. Our policies are decided by community consensus and enforced by elected administrators. The text of the wiki is licensed under the Creative Commons Attribution-Share Alike License 3.0 (Unported) (CC BY-SA), and our copyright page contains more information about copyright on Wookieepedia.

Wookieepedia's name is a parody of "Wikipedia," referencing the word "Wookiee"—the Star Wars character Chewbacca's species—but Wookieepedia is neither affiliated with Wikipedia nor the Wikimedia Foundation, which hosts Wikipedia and the MediaWiki software used by Wookieepedia. Wookieepedia is likewise not affiliated in any way with Lucasfilm, The Walt Disney Company, or any of their affiliates or subsidiaries.

As a free-to-edit online encyclopedia maintained by a volunteer community of Star Wars fans, the Wookieepedia project is an ever-evolving repository of information that may be incomplete and inaccurate. Start editing today!

Policies and consensus

Wookieepedia is built on collaboration and community consensus to establish article standards and other site policies, such as those on user conduct. All users are expected to follow Wookieepedia policies, which are enforced by elected administrators, and comply with Fandom policies, such as the Fandom Terms of Use.

Discussions on site matters are held on relevant talk pages and the Senate Hall forum, while official votes that update policies occur via the Consensus track.
