The defense of Murkhana City took place[1] in 19 BBY,[2] during the Outer Rim Sieges of the Clone Wars, in Murkhana City on[1] the planet[3] Murkhana,[1] which had been the site of conflict over the course of the war through a battle nine months into the war[3] in 21 BBY[4] and a prolonged bombardment campaign.[3] Targeted by the Galactic Republic, the Confederacy of Independent Systems and Corporate Alliance defended the city, with the operations commanded by Magistrate Passel Argente. The defensive received additional support from the Vibroblade Brigade, a mercenary group occasionally contracted by the corporation for protections and other operations.[1]
Behind the scenes
The defense of Murkhana City was introduced in the current Star Wars canon in Collapse of the Republic, a 2019 supplement to the Star Wars Roleplaying series published by Fantasy Flight Games.[1] In the Star Wars Legends continuity, the defensive was originally introduced in Dark Lord: The Rise of Darth Vader, a novel authored by James Luceno and published in 2005.[5]

Star Wars: The Clone Wars Chronological Episode Order on StarWars.com (backup link) places "The Citadel," "Counterattack" and "Citadel Rescue" between these events, the Battle of Lola Sayu must also occur in 20 BBY. Because Tarkin dates the Battle of Murkhana to be a year before the Battle of Lola Sayu, it can be dated to 21 BBY.
