The Battle of Kromus was a battle[4] sometime between 22 BBY and 19 BBY[1] in the vicinity of[2] the Mid Rim's Kromus system.[3] During the battle, the Maelstrom-class battle cruiser Maelstrom of the Galactic Republic's navy served with distinction, with Jedi General Darrus Jeht of the Jedi Order as its commanding officer.[4]

Behind the scenes

In the current Star Wars canon, the Battle of Kromus was introduced in the Star Wars Roleplaying sourcebook Lead by Example, which was published by Fantasy Flight Games in 2016 for the Star Wars: Age of Rebellion roleplaying game system.[4] In the Star Wars Legends continuity, the Battle of Kromus first appeared in "Dark Soul," a short story written by August Hahn and Cynthia Hahn as a supplement to Living Force, a roleplaying campaign created by Wizards of the Coast. The story was published on Wizards.com on September 22, 2005.[5]

  1. 1.0 1.1 Lead by Example indicates that the Battle of Kromus occurred during the same period of time as the Clone Wars, which lasted from 22 BBY to 19 BBY, according to Star Wars: Galactic Atlas: Updated Edition.
  2. 2.0 2.1 The Essential Atlas and Galactic Cartography: Official Discussion (post by jasonfry) on the Jedi Council Forums' Literature board (October 12, 2008): "I'd call Gendrah-Narvin and Erhynradd star systems -- I err on the side of star systems unless there's evidence to the contrary. (In reply to: "Jason, is Gendrah-Narvin a city country, star, or planet?")" (backup link) Jason Fry, co-author of The Essential Atlas and a number of maps in the current Star Wars canon (see a list here), and his Atlas co-author Daniel Wallace, stated their intention to create the approximate locations for numerous events based on context implied from their names. Given this principle, this article makes a similar basic assumption for Battle of Kromus in relation to the Kromus system.
