Duel on Nadiem

A duel between Jedi Master Luminara Unduli and General Grievous was fought on the astronomical object Nadiem in the Outer Rim Territories, only a few months^[1] after the destruction of the Separatist warship, the Subjugator-class heavy cruiser Malevolence.^[2]

Behind the scenes

In the current Star Wars canon, the duel was first mentioned in Mace Windu and Other Users of the Force in the Star Wars Encyclopedia booklet series published by Altaya on September 14, 2021.^[1]

The event originated in the Stars Wars Legends continuity, where it was instead a full battle pitting the forces of Grievous against those of Luminara Unduli and other Jedi. It first appeared in "Hide in Plain Sight," a comic story written by Welles Hartley, penciled by the Fillbach Brothers, and published by Dark Horse Comics^[3] as part of Free Comic Book Day on July 3, 2004.^[4] It was later identified as the Battle of Nadiem in the 2008 reference book The Complete Star Wars Encyclopedia.^[5]
