The Battle of Parein II 4[3] was fought on the fourth moon of the planet Parein II during the Clone Wars. During the battle, Jedi General Sannen led the Republic Military against the Separatist General Grievous and his forces,[2] which included Grievous's IG-100 MagnaGuards. Putting them to their first real test, the MagnaGuards made their deadly debut during the battle, and the Republic's forces were utterly crushed. Grievous led his troops at the front.[1] Sannen bravely tried to attack the cyborg directly, but he never got the chance; the Jedi was instead stabbed through his throat by the electrostaff of one of the MagnaGuards.[2]

In the Star Wars canon, the battle was first mentioned in Battle Droids and Other Droids of War in the Star Wars Encyclopedia booklet series published by Altaya on July 27, 2021,[1] and was first identified as the Battle of Parein II 4 in Miscellaneous Ships and Vehicles (2) in the Star Wars Encyclopedia booklet series published by Altaya on July 29, 2022.[3]

In the Stars Wars Legends, the Batlle of Parein II 4 was first mentioned in "The Story of General Grievous: Lord of War," an article written by Abel G. Peña and illustrated by Joe Corroney, released on February 15, 2006.[4]
