Sources and Appearances
There's already special pages that keep track of stuff like uncategorized pages. But I was thinking that a bot may help us identify pages that have neither sources nor appearances. It could flag these pages with the sources template. I think we would need to have an exception list, because for some pages this isn't appropriate (e.g. OOU pages). Thoughts? WhiteBoy 16:02, 28 Oct 2005 (UTC)
- There are a lot of pages which do not need sources or appearances because they appear so many times. Lightsaber styles, Orders, years, lists. . It will be rather annoying to have a bot which keeps adding requests for sources or appearances.TopAce
- I agree. That's why I said that about the exception list. WhiteBoy 22:39, 28 Oct 2005 (UTC)
- I have a bad feeling about this. -- Riffsyphon1024 20:02, 28 Oct 2005 (UTC)
Image Sourcing
Would it be possible for a bot to go through all images, find the ones that are not in any categories (i.e., they lack a copyright tag), and stick the unverified template on them? I've been doing this pretty randomly as a project, but the problem is widespread enough that it needs to be done in a systemic fashion if unsourced images are to be identified so people can go through them. Generally, all images that are already copyright tagged are either sourced or already in the 'unverified' bin (very few exceptions). Some sourced images do not have a copyright tag - this would help identify both those images and the many images that actually lack sources entirely. Unfortunately, I imagine it would be very spammy, due to the size of the problem. Yrfeloran 18:03, 2 March 2006 (UTC)
Personal Bot
Can I have one that just follows me around and makes encouraging noises? Defends my position in edit wars, perhaps? CooperTFN 18:57, 2 March 2006 (UTC)
Nav Template adding
I whipped up a nav template for the Republic comics, Republic comics, and if it's acceptable it would be a lot easier for a bot to add it to all 84 issue pages. - Lord Hydronium 01:16, 16 March 2007 (UTC)
Clone Wars link change
Could some bot please change all the links from Star Wars: The Clone Wars to Star Wars: The Clone Wars (video game)? -- Ozzel 03:50, 14 May 2007 (UTC)

Request
I would like to request a bot designed for sourcing articles (e.g. changing 'ref' to 'ref name', but also as a personal bot. As a personal bot, I mean something that helps me out with my articles, maybe vote for my GA and FA noms, that kind of thing? I'd call him TC-14. Jediknight19bby 19:23, 28 June 2007 (UTC)
- You want a bot to vote for your nominations? I think what you're looking for is a sockpuppet. --

Sapient to Sentient
A while back, a user changed a load of articles with the word "sentient" and replaced it with "sapient". Since the word sentient is what is used in the Star Wars universe, and also that the Sapient article redirects to Sentient, can a bot be created, or an existing bot be altered, to automatically change all instances of the word sapient to sentient? I'm willing to slowly and steadily keep working on it, but the thought of manually correcting the 575 articles left to fix is rather daunting. Thanks. - JMAS 21:04, 14 August 2007 (UTC)
- All instances? Aren't there some that are ok? Also, if there's a page that expains the difference, that one would have to be excluded. —Xwing328(Talk) 04:36, 15 August 2007 (UTC)
- There is only one single source that uses the term "sapient" and that's University of Comparative Sapient Species found in only a single source, which is supposedly Star Wars Gamer 5 (though I would like someone who has that issue to verify this). All other novels, sources, reference books use the term "sentient". JSarek and Riffsyphon can corroborate this. - JMAS 04:41, 15 August 2007 (UTC)
- Unfortunately I don't have Gamer 5. jSarek is the better source. -- Riffsyphon1024 04:44, 15 August 2007 (UTC)
- Anyone that can verify that source would be great. By corroboration, I more meant to your comments here: Forum:Sentient_v.s._Sapient. - JMAS 04:52, 15 August 2007 (UTC)
- Sapient is used in: Adumar: Pilots Wanted, Dark Empire Sourcebook, Star Wars: The Roleplaying Game, Second Edition, Revised and Expanded, The Thrawn Trilogy Sourcebook, Velmor: Royalty and Rebellion, Or Die Trying, and about 25 novels. —Xwing328(Talk) 05:37, 15 August 2007 (UTC)
- Those novels must be the Junior Jedi Knights, Last of the Jedi, and one or two of the Clone Wars era novels, because I've read and own virtually every other novel written. But even so, that small handful is far outnumbered by the rest of the source material and novels that use the term sentient, which should be the precedent. If the selected sources you have listed use the word sapient, then fine, that's about 30-35 works compared to 500+ others that use the word sentient, so I think it would still be good for a bot to change all the instances of sapient to sentient, then those 30-35 source articles can be changed back manually if you'd like. - JMAS 05:59, 15 August 2007 (UTC)
- Actually, no. They're LotF, NJO, X-wing, Han Solo, MedStar, Lando, Shatterpoint, and I, Jedi. But you're right, sentient is far more popular, though that doesn't negate the validity of the word sapient. —Xwing328(Talk) 06:12, 15 August 2007 (UTC)
- Well, what started this whole thing, is someone went through and changed all these instances of the word sentient, to sapient, based on the OOU, real world definition, when the established term IU for Star Wars, and for most SciFi out there for that matter, is sentient. And as sentient is by far the more established term, it seems to me, sentient should be the term used in articles (unless quoting from a specific source), particularly when used in making a heading (==Sentient species== and not ==Sapient species==). - JMAS 06:25, 15 August 2007 (UTC)
- OK, I know the ==Sapient species== heading was decided in a CT along with the other "Appearances" headers, so this might need to be brought up in a new CT (as much as I hate voting). The bot would probably have to go through every single page in the wiki, too, looking for the word to change. That takes a long time. Either way, I'm out for the night. —Xwing328(Talk) 06:31, 15 August 2007 (UTC)

I just went through the CT and CT Archive and not one is about ==Sapient species== vs ==Sentient species==. - JMAS 07:04, 15 August 2007 (UTC)
- That seems wrong - I could've sworn we've had this debate before. At any rate, the aforementioned University of Comparative Sapient Species is in fact in Star Wars Gamer 5, specifically in "A Campaign Guide to the Centrality"; it's where the Ottdefas come from. jSarek 07:50, 15 August 2007 (UTC)
- You're right, not a CT: Forum:Appearances for very common items. —Xwing328(Talk) 16:17, 15 August 2007 (UTC)
OK, re-opening this request. Since the CT thread agreed that Sentient only would be used in headings, can a bot be created or an existing bot altered to change all the instances of Sapient back to Sentient, but be limited to doing so in headings only? - JMAS 02:34, 4 January 2008 (UTC)
Marvel Ewoks to Ewoks
Recently the individual issues of the Marvel Ewoks series have been moved to just Ewoks (ie here). Can a bot change the links to the former Marvel pages to the new title? --Eyrezer 08:35, 31 August 2007 (UTC)

CCG citation template
For a while now, I've been hand-coding citation information for the SWCCG into a number of article images, before realizing it would be much cleaner to have a citation template like we do for magazines. I was wondering if we could get all instances of the format I've been using turned into the new template, replacing
- SET NAME, Star Wars Customizable Card Game
with
- SET NAME
Thanks. jSarek 20:41, 10 September 2007 (UTC)
- To match the naming convention of the magazine templates, shouldn't this be at Tl|CCGCite? -- Darth Culator (Talk) 20:52, 10 September 2007 (UTC)
- Well, we've only been partly consistent in that, given Template:Journal, Template:Galaxy, Template:Hyperspace, and the like. Think I ought to change it anyway? jSarek 20:59, 10 September 2007 (UTC)
- No, please keep it at CCG. It's so much easier to site and remember the name of. —Xwing328(Talk) 23:36, 10 September 2007 (UTC)
- In that case, I'll leave it where it is, and the bots may act as they see fit. jSarek 00:54, 11 September 2007 (UTC)
- So is this template intended for use in references, like on Home One? The bot's replacing a lot right now. Let me know if you see any that haven't been done. —Xwing328(Talk) 01:39, 11 September 2007 (UTC)
- Yeah, sources, references and image sources. I've been using this particlar format for a long time, so there's probably quite a bit to replace (hence the bot request). jSarek 01:46, 11 September 2007 (UTC)

Information template
I'd like to request that the variable "filespecs=" be added to all pages with the Information template. In the appropriate spot (above licensing=, under author=), if possible. --Imperialles 00:16, 15 September 2007 (UTC)
- Should be possible if I have more free time. I'll let you know. —Xwing328(Talk) 00:37, 17 September 2007 (UTC)
- Is it really worth it to add it? I mean, the script's easy - I already coded it - but it will spam RC and watchlists with such a trivial edit. (I know how ironic that sounds when my bot often makes pointless edits.) —Xwing328(Talk) 21:52, 17 September 2007 (UTC)
- RC sure, but I don't imagine too many images are on ppls watch lists. I think it probably is worth it. --Eyrezer 05:46, 18 September 2007 (UTC)

CCG citation template, redux
It seems I'm not the only one with a favorite hand-cranked way to source articles from the Star Wars CCG. I've been running across these two formats for a while:
- Star Wars Customizable Card Game: SET NAME
- Star Wars Customizable Card Game: SET NAME
I wonder if we could get a bot to switch these to
- SET NAME
as well? Thanks. jSarek 09:09, 8 October 2007 (UTC)
- It's a lot harder to do it this way, since Star Wars Customizable Card Game isn't actually getting linked. I'd have to include a reference to every CCG set that might be linked. —Xwing328(Talk) 22:46, 8 October 2007 (UTC)
- Ick. Well, if it's problematic, don't worry about it. jSarek 01:07, 9 October 2007 (UTC)

Image replacement
Replacing all instances of File:Sithempire2.jpg with File:Sithempire2.png would be most excellent, thanks. -- Darth Culator (Talk) 06:25, 29 December 2007 (UTC)
- Never mind! I now have a working bot. -- Darth Culator (Talk) 02:23, 4 January 2008 (UTC)
Sectors --> sectors
- I don't know how easy or hard this will be to program, but we could really use some way to implement this CT without having to do it all by hand. If nothing else, something that renamed the sector articles would be helpful. jSarek 21:01, 11 April 2008 (UTC)
Galaxy
- Could a bot take care of the 1000+ remaining instances of "the Galaxy" and change them to "the galaxy"? Since we have to be careful about simply changing all instances of the upper case to the lower case, because the uppercase version is correct in a number of instances. PS: Could this automated wonder also replace the galaxy to the galaxy? - TopAce (Talk) 11:42, 12 August 2008 (UTC)
- I should be able to get around to this within an hour. —Xwing328(Talk) 19:40, 31 August 2008 (UTC)

Credit
Can a bot change all links to credit to Galactic Credit Standard instead? SoresuMakashi(Everything I tell you is a lie) 06:49, 8 January 2009 (UTC)
- I know this is an old request, but having a bot replace redirects supposedly puts more strain on the servers than just leaving them. —Xwing328(Talk) 17:11, 20 June 2009 (UTC)
- Ah, I was unaware of that. SoresuMakashi(Everything I tell you is a lie) 10:35, 23 June 2009 (UTC)
Subcategorising
Also, is there a way to change subcategorisation from the currently standard to what Ataru said was the more correct ? Not sure whether it's entirely doable, since there's text in the middle of the brackets. There's probably thousands of these things all over category pages on the site. SoresuMakashi(Everything I tell you is a lie) 00:02, 31 January 2009 (UTC)
- Never mind, that might be changing soon and will be done anyway. SoresuMakashi(Everything I tell you is the truth) 07:59, 26 July 2009 (UTC)
Star Wars Knights of the Old Republic to Star Wars: Knights of the Old Republic
All the issues of this comic series are a colon short of having correct titles. Would it be possible to move the issues, and change any and all links around to include the colon? --Imperialles 11:15, 19 June 2009 (UTC)
- I think it would be a bad idea. Not only does a title with two colons in it look goofy, but none of the other series follows that format. The only exception is Star Wars: Empire, all issues of which were moved from Star Wars Empire: Something to Star Wars: Empire: Something by a bot sometine ago. I've been trying to get someone to move them all back ever since. MauserComlink 11:21, 19 June 2009 (UTC)
- Goofy or not, that is the correct title. Or do you propose we remove the colons from the titles of all Star Wars products? This is simply bringing comics in line with the rest of the site. --Imperialles 11:23, 19 June 2009 (UTC)
- All right, who said that is the only correct title? Dark Horse website has the colon in the title, but it also has a # symbol before the issue number (something which the wiki engine would not allow us to do) and a dash before the actual issue title (where we have colon instead). There are many ways to write the colon issue number and Wookieepedia has followed this unwritten standard for years. If you try to perform the move, it will not only affect most of the comic series, issues, story arcs and TPBs and all pages that link to any of them. It will also require to re-categorize all images from all of those comics. Even if a bot could do that without messing up enything, should we really do that just because you think that would look better? MauserComlink 11:41, 19 June 2009 (UTC)
- This has nothing to do with what I think looks better. It's about what is correct. Your link confirms that even the publisher uses the colon; why should we differ? You argue that moving the articles is a lot of work, so what? Until we can get a firm policy in place regarding this issue, we should at least attempt to comply with the publisher's format, regardless of the work required. You mention that the current format is an "unwritten standard" on the site. Well, that standard traces its origin to when the wiki namespace was "Star Wars". To avoid confusion between wiki pages and articles with "Star Wars" in the title, no colon was used. The namespace was changed years ago. It is time to mop up this artifact. --Imperialles 11:58, 19 June 2009 (UTC)
- We still cannot fully comply to Dark Horse standard, because we can't use # symbol in pagenames. Also, if you want to insert the colon between the Star Wars and the series title, you also have to replace the colon between the series name and the issue name with a dash. That way, it might work. MauserComlink 12:02, 19 June 2009 (UTC)
- You're right, we can't fully comply with Dark Horse's format. But we can get fairly close. This involves adopting the colon. We could do the dash, sure, or we could simply sit down and make a CT on the issue of titles. Is it truly necessary to include "Star Wars" in titles, anyway? It seems redundant. In the meantime, Dark Horse practice aside, adding colons would at the very least mean that comics are uniform with our other Star Wars product articles. --Imperialles 12:14, 19 June 2009 (UTC)
- That way, I suggest you start a CT about the whole issue before actually starting moving pages by the dozens. MauserComlink 12:16, 19 June 2009 (UTC)
- Well, we cannot operate based on assumed future policy. Right now, this is the correct action to take. Your point is probably something along the lines of "we should avoid extra work" and I can respect that. I will cede this request until after a consensus track discussion has concluded. --Imperialles 12:25, 19 June 2009 (UTC)

Could a bot move all files from the category Category:Images of Argyus to a new category, Category:Images of Faro Argyus? --Xd1358 Talk 18:28, November 17, 2009 (UTC)
Star Wars:
This one's pretty big. As per the recent CT, there's finally a consensus to standardize colon usage in Dark Horse comic titles. This means... a lot of bot work. Articles need to be moved, categories need to be renamed, and links need to be changed. Most things in need of work can be found in these two categories:
Any help dearly appreciated. --Imperialles 10:30, April 20, 2010 (UTC)
- I've started working on this slowly when I get time. Might be best to setup a progress page so we can cross of categories we've done like we did with the App implementation. That way other bot operators or people with some free time can know where to help out, since this will be a big job. Grunny (talk) 02:40, April 21, 2010 (UTC)
- Started working on a coordination page here: Forum:SH:Project Colon. --Imperialles 08:06, April 21, 2010 (UTC)
- As per the above link, I'm hoping that a bot can be used to make the in-article changes for links to Star Wars: Legacy articles (not categories). The change would essentially be from "Star Wars Legacy" to "Star Wars: Legacy". All articles have been moved, but I was unsure how to go about moving the cats. If the cat-related changes need to be made prior to using a bot, please just let me know the best way to go about doing that and I'll get it done. Thanks. —fodigg
(talk) | 17:53, May 25, 2010 (UTC) - Regarding the Star Wars: Legacy categories, the list of categories can be found here, and a new category would need to be created for each that includes the colon (:) in the name, and then all links to that category would have to be changed by a bot. There are a lot of image categories/images, so I'd prefer not to do this manually if at all possible. Please let me know if using a bot this way is not feasible. Thanks again. —fodigg
(talk) | 18:23, May 25, 2010 (UTC)
- Hi Fodigg. Bots can actually move categories with one command. That's how we've been doing it for the other ones. So when I type in a command it creates the new category page, changes all the pages to the new category, and then prompts me to delete the old one. Bots also move pages en masse and everything else, so I can get to these later :). Grunny (talk) 21:31, May 25, 2010 (UTC)
Implementing new quote template
Per Forum:CT:Modifying quote templates, I have implemented the new quote template, which can be used instead of qlisten, quoteurl and qlistenurl. So, here are the tasks that should be done:
→
→
→
Thanks. -- 1358 (Talk) 10:25, June 7, 2010 (UTC)
More:
→
→
→

CCG
starwarsccg.org is dead, but starwarsccg.com
is going strong on www.swccgpc.com (backup link not verified!) Could a bot change all of the links? Menkooroo 12:37, June 8, 2010 (UTC)
- Well most of those links are linked to from CCG, so you'd need to know how you're going to modify the template and then see how the links need to be changed first. Just by glancing at the site, the links aren't really in the same format, so it may take some working out on how we're going to do this. Grunny (talk) 23:39, June 10, 2010 (UTC)
Essential Atlas Companion
The latest update for the Essential Atlas Online Companion has removed individual pages and replaced them with a pdf. As a consequence, we now have a bunch of links that no longer work properly. Can these 5 links be changed:
-
-
-
-
-
And replaced with this generic link:
-
Thanks. --Eyrezer 09:07, June 13, 2010 (UTC)
- I think there might also be a need to run the bot through links like this: for each of the 5 SW.com pages above. --Eyrezer 00:37, June 16, 2010 (UTC)
Sidereal Period -> Sidereal Era
Forum:SH:Bot request: Sidereal Period to Sidereal Era should have been here (oops). Talk archives update
Is it possible for a bot to go through the archived talk pages and update the div code so it has the id="old-forum-warning" bit? -- I need a name (Complain here) 22:26, September 9, 2010 (UTC)
- I've been meaning to do this for a while, since I added the JS that archives them. I was trying to figure the best way to get a list pages which are talk archives, rather than having to make it run over all of our talk pages, but I'll probably end up just letting run over every page in the page namespace looking for the archive text and adding the old-forum-warning id to it. Grunny (talk) 03:29, September 10, 2010 (UTC)
- It's a moot point now anyway, since I've gone and updated them manually, although there's some I didn't do because they're protected. -- I need a name (Complain here) 22:10, September 10, 2010 (UTC)

CSWECite
Can a bot run through all uses of CSWECite and remove the fourth parameter from any instance that has it? The fourth parameter was previously used to specify the link target for the entry name, but I've changed it to eliminate the link, since we don't do that on FFCite, which is the closest analog to this one. Thanks. Master Jonathan (Jedi Council Chambers) 23:15, December 31, 2010 (UTC)

Fair use
One more. I recently changed all of the links to Wookieepedia:Fair use in our file copyright templates over to the Wikipedia article on the subject since our page on it is pretty much useless and the Wikipedia article does a much better job of explaining what fair use is. I intend to TC the page, but I need to verify that I haven't missed any links, and the "what links here" report is still full of thousands of old links because the MediaWiki job queue hasn't caught up to the template changes yet and won't for a while. Is there any way a bot can speed this process up? From what I can tell, it takes a null edit to manually remove a page from "what links here", which a bot should be able to do. If it's not possible, let me know and I'll wait it out. Thanks again. Master Jonathan (Jedi Council Chambers) 23:53, December 31, 2010 (UTC)
- I made a start on this, but given just how many pages (now it's under 10,000...) it could take a while for the bot to get it done, since I'll only run it while I'm online. Cheers, Grunny (talk) 11:05, January 1, 2011 (UTC)

Removing category
A few weeks ago, I was asked to add a category to :Template:FanonLimit, which would help to keep track of those who have been warned. Someone would then check the category, :Category:User page fanon violators and check the users in that category and see if they've complied with the warning. I've gone through the category and checked that everyone in it are currently not violating the policy, so the category should be removed from those pages. The task is basically:
- Remove every instance of
However, there is one exception, User talk:LelalMekha who is currently violating the policy. If the bot can't "ignore" the category on the page, you can readd it after the bot has removed all instances of the category. Cheers, 1358 (Talk) 10:57, April 27, 2011 (UTC)
Years of the Republic Classic era
The Republic Classic era, lasting from 1000 BBY to 19 BBY is a kind of fanon that has been fixed recently. The canon name of this time period is Great Peace of the Republic which lasted from 1000 BBY to 22 BBY. However, all these years are in Category:Years in the Republic Classic era. I need a Bot to change the category of these years to Category:Years in the Great Peace of the Republic era. I apologize if this is not the proper place to post this, but I was hoping someone who knew how bots work could weigh in at Forum:SH:Species and Sentient templates about whether the things we're talking about are doable via bot. Felucians
Star Wars: The Official Starships & Vehicles Collection 67's planet index identifies diminutive Felucians, and larger Jungle Felucians (with a capital J). This request is to alter all instances of pipelinks to Felucian to Jungle Felucian. Then, have the page Felucian itself deleted and move Felucian (farmer) to Felucian. Then have a bot change all links to Felucian (farmer) to Felucian. SinisterSamurai 18:04, September 7, 2011 (UTC)
- Unfortunately, it appears that both pages were moved and the Felucian (farmer) links changed without first changing the existing Felucian links to Jungle Felucian. The result is that almost all of the links now point to Felucian, and I doubt a bot can sort them out. This may have to be done by hand. Two things
Many infobox codes for articles are out of date. See Forum:SH:Updating infoboxes|this forum I started for more details. It would be great if every infobox that isn't up to date receive a mass code change, hopefully also autodetecting when it's appropriate to implement hideb, hidec, etc. Also, alot of pipelinks on articles here are not really formatted correctly, and I myself have been a past offender of this. For example, the correct pipelink for Anakin Skywalker would be Darth Vader's, and not Darth Vader's. Another example would be TIE fighters instead of TIE fighters. Thanks. Tales of the Golden redirect
Can a bot change all linked instances of C-3PO: Tales of the Golden Droid to the correct yet ironically incorrect C-3P0: Tales of the Golden Droid? Menkooroo 16:49, January 29, 2012 (UTC)
- Are we sure that "C-3P0" is correct? Amazon and Barnes & Noble both list it as "C-3PO". Master Jon Training Room Sunday, January 29, 2012, 20:27 UTC
- Hmmm... good question. Looking at the book, it does look like a zero on the cover and inside cover, but the O in GOLDEN looks identically thin. It might actually just be that the font makes the O look like a zero. I'll ask Tope to weigh in, as he originally moved the page. Maybe there was something else that I'm missing. Menkooroo 06:53, January 30, 2012 (UTC)
- Ok, just looked through the book again. On the front cover, the O in "C-3PO" and all other words containing the letter "O" in the title use an identical character, which does appear to be closer to the number zero than the letter O. The same is true for the title on the inside cover. The real kicker seems to be the title of the book as it is printed in the footer of every other page, where it clearly says "C-3P0: Tales of the Golden Droid" (a zero being used in C-3PO's name, and the letter O being used in all other words). In the absence of anything more official than an Amazon page title, I think I would recommend keeping it at this current title for now. Toprawa and Ralltiir 04:05, February 4, 2012 (UTC)
- I would think the publisher's web page is more official than an amazon.com page. If there's lingering doubt about the discrepancy between the publisher's inconsistent typesetting and its unambiguous web page listing, perhaps a question could be put to one of the authors, whose word would presumably trump a publication error. Asithol 02:16, February 22, 2012 (UTC)

CCG template link corrections
Not sure if a bot could do this, but it'd definitely beat doing it manually... Many links in Template:CCG are broken, possibly due to the hosting site rearranging the directories. Comparison of the links are as follows:
| OLD | specialedition/light/images/incomcorporation.gif |
| CURRENT | SpecialEdition-Light/large/incomcorporation.gif |
The changes are:
- Capitalization of the release edition (JabbasPalace vs jabbaspalace)
- inclusion of side in with the hyphenation (Premiere-Light vs premiere/light)
- change from "/images/" to "/large/"
Other than that the links are fine. The only issue I can see is the bot distinguishing where to capitalize the edition, which will still break the link if not done (but could possibly be still done with an switch case statement). Thanks guys! Manoof (talk) 04:58, February 17, 2015 (UTC)
- If you can give me a complete list identifying all of the editions, how they were previously given in URLs, and how they are now capitalized (since I am not familiar with the CCG), I can fix this. - light and dark is correct. I'll just give the section of URL with the faction (so Light or Dark goes after)
| Expansion | old URL | new URL |
| Premiere Limited | premiere/ | Premiere- |
| A New Hope Limited | anewhope/ | ANewHope- |
| Hoth Limited | hoth/ | Hoth- |
| Dagobah Limited | dagobah/ | Dagobah- |
| Cloud City Limited | cloudcity/ | CloudCity- |
| Jabba's Palace Limited | jabbaspalace/ | JabbasPalace- |
| Special Edition Limited | specialedition/ | SpecialEdition- |
| Endor Limited | endor/ | Endor- |
| Death Star II Limited | deathstar2/ | DeathStarII- |
| Tatooine Limited | tatooine/ | Tatooine- |
| Coruscant Limited | coruscant/ | Coruscant- |
| Theed Palace Limited | theedpalace/ | TheedPalace- |
This won't fix all of them, but it will fix the majority, as some don't have a link attribute at all. Thanks heaps MJ! Manoof (talk) 07:11, February 18, 2015 (UTC)
- Apologies for the delay, as I've been bitten by the cleaning bug recently. The bot is now running. I do want to point out two things: first, attempting to access cards through these links will produce an "access denied" error message, as the site does not allow deep-linking to images. This can usually be bypassed by clicking in the address bar (thereby putting the focus on it) and hitting "Enter". I'll add a note about this to the template page. Second, it appears that some images may have been renamed; I just performed some spot-checks on the bot's work and had to fix two ([1] [2]). —MJ— Council Chambers 04:35, February 20, 2015 (UTC)
- Also, check your list above for completeness. On Bail Prestor Organa, the bot matched and changed one link, but failed to recognize the other three below it due to their use of "ls" instead of "light" or "dark". Is this an error on the part of whoever added the links to the article, or do I need to make another bot run accounting for that (and if so, what do I change it to)?

incorrect /Legends page links to SWG Wiki and Star Wars: The Old Republic Wiki
The December 2015 Canon/Legends switchover was a massive and largely successful undertaking, but one overlooked detail was some interwiki links. Two I've noticed are SWGWiki and SWTOR Wiki templates used in pages with an explicit /Legends in their page title.
For example, look at Mon Calamari/Legends#External links. This uses an unadorned SWGWiki and SWTOR Wiki in the source, which before the switchover created valid links to http://swg.wikia.com/wiki/Mon_Calamari and http://swtor.wikia.com/wiki/Mon_Calamari, but after resulted in links to the nonexistent pages http://swg.wikia.com/wiki/Mon_Calamari/Legends and http://swtor.wikia.com/wiki/Mon_Calamari/Legends. Poking through a few /Legends pages at random that use these templates, many are still seemingly broken.
It probably makes most sense for a bot to locate all /Legends pages with one or both of these templates, and add a pipelink containing the Wookieepedia page name with the /Legends extension omitted. This will, at least, restore the links to what they were before the December 2015 breakage, if not result in currently valid links in 100% of cases. Some links have been fixed manually in the past 18 months (e.g., Dantooine/Legends#External links), and some have one corrected link and one still-broken one (e.g., Wookiee/Legends#External links), so the bot will have to check each template for whether a pipelink already exists.
Thank you, bot people! Asithol (talk) 00:16, July 12, 2017 (UTC)
- CWAWiki should also be checked. This one is broken on, for example, R2-D2/Legends#External links. Asithol (talk) 08:39, July 13, 2017 (UTC)
- I'm looking into this, and I think replacing the PAGENAME in the templates with BASEPAGENAME should do the trick (for example, results in Wookiee. Is there anything I might've overlooked here? 1358 (Talk) 11:54, July 15, 2017 (UTC)
- That does sound like a much better solution: it's a more localized change, and it means any future links added to /Legends articles will work without the parameter. As long as it doesn't break any uses that have already been parameterized (and I don't see why it should, since you're changing only the fallback link when no parameter is specified), this looks like a winner! Asithol (talk) 04:23, July 17, 2017 (UTC)
- I've changed the templates and it appears to be working just fine, as seen on Wookiee/Legends#External_links. 1358 (Talk) 20:25, July 17, 2017 (UTC)

Star Wars: The Official Magazine
As mentioned on its talk page, Star Wars: The Official Magazine has been long misnamed Star Wars Magazine UK on Wookieepedia. I've moved the main page, but the individual issues still live under the incorrect name, and should be moved en masse. Thank you. Asithol (talk) 21:01, November 28, 2015 (UTC)
- Just to clarify, individual issues should be titled, for example, Star Wars: The Official Magazine 12? 1358 (Talk) 11:44, July 15, 2017 (UTC)
- I'm open to suggestions. That, to me, seems the best way to name them, although later covers seem to omit the "The Official Magazine" subtitle (and Wookieepedia's images of some covers lack the resolution to tell what they say). Still, since Star Wars: The Official Magazine is definitely the title on the first and subsequent several issues, to me it seems like the best fit for the whole run. It is certainly more correct than the current, for example, Star Wars Magazine UK 12: "UK" is nowhere in the title; thus, if it were needed to disambiguate this 'zine from another with the same name, the "UK" should be in parentheses. Asithol (talk) 04:17, July 17, 2017 (UTC)
- Pages moved. Will get to links shortly. 1358 (Talk) 20:34, July 17, 2017 (UTC)
- Links should now be fixed. 1358 (Talk) 22:13, July 20, 2017 (UTC)
- Thank you! If I may be so greedy with your bot's services, the article titles are now correct, but the content of each article still shows the old title. This is typically in multiple places, such as infobox, lead text, and link to the article on the overall series. In particular, many headers display the title with the |title parameter of Eras, but since they often don't use PAGENAME (perhaps, in some cases, to allow the magazine name to be italicized while the issue number remains roman). If all these variations make this poorly suited for bot work, let me know and I'll fix them up individually over time. Thank you! Asithol (talk) 20:27, July 21, 2017 (UTC)

DEFAULTSORT
I'd like to request that all pages (in Main and Category namespace) that use DEFAULTSORT with a period in front of the name, like, for example, (note the period in front of "Santage"), have the period removed. Requesting Jenks (Imperial) to be moved to Jenks. Jenks (disambiguation) should remain as a separate page. QuiGonJinn (Talk) 19:28, March 23, 2018 (UTC)
- Question: Our Naming policy suggests Jenks should be the disambiguation pages while the other pages should have parenthesis. Exceptions are granted to "major" subjects but I'm not sure what makes Jenks (Imperial) a "major" subject aside from the article length, which has little to do with notability. 1358 (Talk) 19:57, March 23, 2018 (UTC)

TCW comics
I have two requests related to Star Wars: The Clone Wars (comics)
- Can the image categories for The Clone Wars comics be moved to the appropriate titles? For example: Category:Images from Star Wars The Clone Wars 1: Slaves of the Republic - Chapter 1: The Mystery of Kiros needs to be moved to Category: Images from Star Wars: The Clone Wars 1 and so on. QuiGonJinn
(Talk) 22:42, September 8, 2018 (UTC)
- Many articles originating from the TCW comics either link to full, insanely long titles (Ex. Teek (Zygerrian), or they link to just The Clone Wars (issue number) without the Star Wars part (Ex. Shi'kar). If those could be fixed by a bot, that would be awesome too. QuiGonJinn

Crawler Commandeers#Appearances
This listing isn't properly alphabetized. For example, "Alliance army" is out of place and "Rebel officer" isn't updated to its new name. Add alias to character infobox
What's everyone's thoughts on adding alias to the character infobox template? There are quite a few characters with different aliases/nicknames, would this be an acceptable idea? If so, a bot could do the heavy lifting of updating each character template and then the community can add as and when. Perhaps if the bot is able to, identify if a redirect exists and add each redirect as an alias to the target article. Plume Tray (talk) 20:59, December 12, 2019 (UTC)

Revan
Move Revan/Canon to Revan and Revan to Revan/Legends to make way for canon nomination--Vitus InfinitusTalk 19:29, January 6, 2020 (UTC)
- I may be rusty on our policies, but does an indirect mention warrant for this replacement already? Winterz (talk) 20:20, January 6, 2020 (UTC)
- After refreshing on our current naming policy, I understand canon takes precedence but considering the situation and hot-topic at hand, I don't see the need to rush to standardize an article that is linked to 5 main articles in front of one that is linked to 2000. Winterz (talk) 20:39, January 6, 2020 (UTC)
- The number of articles is not relevant. Revan has become a subject in both canon and Legends, therefore, per policy, readers searching for him should be taken to the canon page first, seeing as canon is the current primary continuity. It's a slippery slope to start marking these exceptions to policy rules. They are binding. Tommy
Macaroni 14:59, January 7, 2020 (UTC)
- Revan isn't a thing in Canon. His name was used to name a Sith trooper legion. Readers aren't looking for the Canon's Revan because it has null content, they're looking for Legends Revan. And it is disruptive to the editors' work as it's just more pipelinking. This doesn't even affect the ability of one to nominate the canon article to status. Policy sets canon as priority, but it doesn't force us to rush to it. Oh well, but what is done is done. Winterz (talk) 16:01, January 7, 2020 (UTC)
- Let me further explain my hesitation. The three Sith trooper legions are named after previously-exclusive Legends' Sith Lords: Tenebrous Legion, Andeddu Legion and Revan Legion. All of which are named Darth Andeddu, Darth Revan and Darth Tenebrous. So for all we know, the canon article's name could have been Darth Revan (as it's been named so in a Canon source) and this situation would've been avoided. Winterz (talk) 16:19, January 7, 2020 (UTC)

I've mentioned this to Tommy already and it seems that we both agree that using bots to fix redirects is useless and ultimately a waste of time and resources. Redirects are, for all intents and purposes, and our obsession to not have any redirects anywhere is rather strange; the only reason why we do this in the first place is because some users (me included) have enabled scripts to highlight redirects. Clogging up page histories with something that is ultimately not productive is not something I will be using my bot for. Unless the recommended link fixes are substantial (like a renamed individual similar), I will not be using my time for doing this kind of bot work. 1358 (Talk) 21:09, January 12, 2020 (UTC)
- Furthermore, I argue that going around fixing redirects using WhatLinksHere is, no offense, also pointless. There are a million more productive things that need to be done. 1358 (Talk) 21:11, January 12, 2020 (UTC)
- Honestly, that's your opinion ecks. Quoting from community central "creating redirects for potential titles helps your users find the existing page, and also helps to prevent the accidental creation of duplicate articles." I agree with that concept. By ignoring the existance of redirects within an article raises the chance that a link will be duplicated within said article (under a different link), hence why I find solving it productive. I'm offended that you find most of my work in the last month pointless but of couse, it's your choice. Regards. Winterz (talk) 21:32, January 12, 2020 (UTC)
- The existence of a redirect page is of course great for both SEO/search purposes and also for preventing accidental creations. That has nothing to do with whether links point to redirects or not, because the functionality is unchanged; it's nothing but a cosmetic fix (hell, it's not even cosmetic since you can only spot it with scripts). We are not Wikipedia, of course, but they actually discourage fixing redirects except in special cases. 1358 (Talk) 21:39, January 12, 2020 (UTC)

- All done. Please note that it takes longer for a bot operator to do tasks where the number of pages that need to be edited is < 20 or so. You are encouraged to perform these tasks yourself. 1358 (Talk) 11:27, March 15, 2020 (UTC)
Razor Crest images
It's a very minor naming issue, but Category:Images of Razor Crest (27 images) should be moved to Category:Images of the Razor Crest to keep it consistent with how the show refers to the ship. UberSoldat93 (talk) 09:50, March 30, 2020 (UTC)
- Note: removing per generally not using the definite article in audio and image categories. Tommy

Gone with a Trace
Per Disney+ and StarWars.com, Gone With a Trace should be moved to Gone with a Trace. Could a bot take care of the move, redirects, and imagecat? Thanks. - Cwedin(talk) 19:32, April 1, 2020 (UTC)
Thok redirects
Thok/Legends is completely different from what I just renamed as Thok (pirate), so the former should be renamed just to Thok, the old name for the latter, with not just linking articles also changed accordingly, but any of the current articles linking to Thok also need to be changed as well to link to Thok (pirate). Hanzo Hasashi (talk) 06:19, April 4, 2020 (UTC)
- Addendum: Canon Thok has been renamed Thok, Thok (Gamorrean guard) is new name for the RotJ character. Hanzo Hasashi (talk) 06:26, April 4, 2020 (UTC)
Undercity
The Legends Undercity page needs to be moved to make way for the canon Undercity (Sundari), per the naming policy. Due to the number of pages that link to the Legends Undercity, could a bot handle the move and redirects? Thanks. Zed42 (talk) 12:09, April 18, 2020 (UTC)

Wolffe
Per canon naming policy, :Category:Images of CC-3636 --> Category:Images of Wolffe (46 images). UberSoldat93 (talk) 10:22, June 3, 2020 (UTC)
Rex
Per canon naming policy, Category:Images of Rex --> Category:Images of Rex. As of this message, there are 336 images that will be affected, so manual work will be quite time-consuming. UberSoldat93 (talk) 16:01, June 3, 2020 (UTC)
