Return of the Jedi 1 is the first issue of the Star Wars: Return of the Jedi mini-series and is part of the Marvel Star Wars series of comic books.
It is part one of a four issue comic mini-series adaptation of Return of the Jedi. Unlike the Marvel comic adaptations of A New Hope and The Empire Strikes Back, this was not part of the regular series.
There are four pin-up pages in this issue, Bib Fortuna, Sy Snootles & Max Rebo Band and Salacious B. Crumb by Al Williamson and the Tydirium Shuttle by Rick J. Bryant.

Plot summary
Darth Vader checks on the status of the Death Star II while the Rebels attempt to rescue Han Solo from Jabba the Hutt.
Continuity
This issue shows Ree-Yees covering C-3PO's "mouth" to stop him from warning Luke about the trap door in Jabba's throne room. In the movie, he instead does this to keep Threepio quiet in the earlier scene when Han and Leia are captured.
