Refresher Reading
Hey, Menk, I think I've asked you about this before, but it was a long while ago. Don't you have Insider 91? Would you mind checking the article "Refresher Reading" — Star Wars Insider 91 for a picture of a Lutrillian? I'm trying to sort out the three Mos Eisley Cantina Lutrillians we have now due to the recent christening of Atheloe and Ownellco when we used to think we only had Solomahal. Thanks for the help! ~Savage 04:21, January 2, 2012 (UTC)
Yeah! I have the hard copy. There's a picture of the cantina bar, and a Lutrillian is peeking out from behind one of the Tonnika Sisters. I wouldn't be able to tell you which one, so I've scanned and e-mailed the page to you. Hopefully you can figure out his identity. Menkooroo 05:14, January 2, 2012 (UTC)
Awesome, thanks! The ascot makes him Ownellco (too bad Chee didn't reverse those two names so it'd be ascot = Atheloe). Got a new Mac so can't run Behind the Magic to finally finish re-checking all the Lutrillian refs, but hopefully today! ~Savage 14:59, January 2, 2012 (UTC)
Strike team sources
Fair enough, I see your viewpoint. I just was not sure how to deal with those sorts of sources. I've removed the sources from Brooks too. Hanzo Hasashi 05:44, January 2, 2012 (UTC)
Jeremy Barlow
Hey, Menk, what ever became of our discussion about "The Adventures of Jeremy Barlow" in Star Wars Tales 23? I'm finally getting around to adding that Lamproid appearance to the article, but I wanted to ask how you decided to treat the source. ~Savage 18:54, January 3, 2012 (UTC)
Ummmmm I dunno. I remember the original discussion got sidetracked by the drunk driving ad, so we never really figured out how to treat the Tales intros. I think that any of the methods we suggested were OK, as long as we all agreed not to create in-universe articles on Dark Horse Comics and such. Menkooroo 19:53, January 3, 2012 (UTC)

Hello Menkooroo, I feel like I have asked this before, but do you have Star Wars: Behind the Magic? If so, can you tell me if Vul Tazaene is at all pictured? Hanzo Hasashi 05:59, January 4, 2012 (UTC)

Two things
Hello Menkooroo, would you have access to any of the sources s'Too Vees is pictured in that are not already listed for Janse, per Toprawa's objection? Also, if you look at the info I added to Cabbel sourced to the Radio Drama script, can you tell me if the same info can be instead sourced to the drama itself? I would believe no, as you mentioned the RD just skips over that scene. Thanks. Hanzo Hasashi 04:42, January 5, 2012 (UTC)

Brooks Carlson
Hello Menkooroo, with all the updating that I did to Brooks Carlson courtesy of the stuff proving all the strike team were Hoth veterans, etc., do you think the article is still ideal? Is there anything else I should do to fix up the article? Note that this is not a prenom; I am planning to keep him as a GA because it's under 3000 words, and also I don't think I can deal with another FAN at this time either. Conclave on Kessel
Hi there Menkooroo. I notice that you have been reverting the edits I have made about the deaths of the Jedi involved in the Conclave on Kessel. If you had noticed, I put a source by Leland Chee, Keeper of the Holocron, which confrims that this event happened in 18 BBY, and not 19 BBY. So unless you can provide an updated source which confirms this event happened in 19 BBY, the dates will remain at 18 BBY. Ressor 10:44, January 8, 2012 (UTC)
Ok, fair enough, I see your point. But, the events in Jedi Purge seem to take place after Dark Lord: The Rise of Darth Vader, which is set in 18 BBY. DL:TRODV takes place a few weeks after ROTS, whereas Purge takes place a full one month after ROTS. Vader has difficulties using his suit in the book, whereas in the comic he seems to have gotten a bit used to it. Do you know if there is a way to contact Leland Chee? I apologise for re-reverting all your edits. Ressor 19:44, January 8, 2012 (UTC)
According to our very own Wookieepedia page, Dark Lord is set in 18 BBY, and the date of death given by Chee for Fang Zar is also 18 BBY :P If only we knew how far into 19 BBY were the events of ROTS... If I ever find a way to ask him, I will :) Ressor 21:50, January 8, 2012 (UTC)

Hey Menkooroo; due to some fact checking, I've had to delete the article in question since the actual source does not mention an officer or commander in any context. Sei Taria
Hey, Menk, you still looking for info on Sei Taria from the Episode I Insider's Guide? I've been a bit out of it lately, and I just noticed your query on my talk page a while back. Let me know, and I'll see if I can get it running. ~Savage 20:03, January 16, 2012 (UTC)
That would be amazing! Thank you for the offer. :) Hmmm... I have the Second Edition of A Guide to the Star Wars Universe if you need anything from that! Menkooroo 22:39, January 16, 2012 (UTC)
Without further ado: Taria is the subject of a trivia question in the game (these are scattered about on virtually every screen; hers is on Valorum's page): "Identify Chancellor Valorum's administrative aide." Choosing her brings up this blurb: "Sei Taria assisted Valorum by researching and confirming procedural regulations during the complex Senate gatherings. She views Senator Palpatine as a mentor." She also has a glossary entry that is virtually identical to the trivia blurb. Good luck finishing up the article! ~Savage 23:11, January 16, 2012 (UTC)

Senator articles
Hello, I'm an experienced Wookieepedia user, but new to actually editing. I was told to ask you whether it is okay to add 'formerly' in parentheses on the 'republic' part of a defected senator's affiliation. Example, Rogwa Wodrata. It just had 'republic' and 'cis'. In these situations would it be appropriate to add "formerly' on 'republic'?

Wookieepedian of the Month interview
Ok, I have finish this
Congratulations on being voted Wookieepedian of the Month! How does it feel?
I’m very proud. I wish to thank everyone who voted for me.
When and how did you first become a Star Wars fan?
I have always vey liked Star Wars but I became a true fan when I began my work on with my mod for Empire at War (Strategic Improvement) some years ago. I needed precise informations about the expanded universe and I quickly discovered that Wookieepedia is the more complete.
What is your favorite Star Wars movie, book, comic, and game?
I largely prefer the original trilogy and the events of the Galactic Civil War. I’m very septic the Clone Wars period. My favorite books are those written by Michael Stackpole and Timothy Zahn and particularly the famous Thrawn trilogy.
What interests you the most about editing Wookieepedia?
I prefer working on the events of the Rebellion era. I’m working on Crimson Empire 3 and I am also still working on the Essential Atlas which is pretty uncompleted. I later would like to complete the articles about the old Classic and Marvel Star Wars, and the old WEG RPG.
Since English is not your first language, do you find it difficult to participate in the Wookieepedia community?
It was very difficult for me at the beginning, particularly to talk with other users, but with the time it became better. Wookieepedia very improved my English! It is almost not a problem for me anymore.
What kind of impact would you like to leave on Wookieepedia?
I would like Wookieepedia as complete and rigorous as possible, especially since I know the Star Wars authors use it and I saw the SW website link to it. It is a reference!
Do you have advice for anyone interested in joining the Wookieepedia community?
I must say it was a surprise to be selected for this. It's quite an honor :D
Anyways, I sent you an e-mail, and would be happy to answer any questions. StarsiderSWG 17:02, March 5, 2012 (UTC)

Trebla infobox
Hey, Menk. Yeah, that cell image of Trebla isn't the best, but it is a lot clearer than anything you're gonna get from a YouTube or other online screengrab. Another option, though, is the Ewoks cartoon DVD. One of the Jinda episodes is featured there, and there should be some fairly decent footage of Trebla. Do you have it? If not, I can take a look and try to find something that's a bit better than either of the other two options. Let me know. ~Savage 12:54, March 13, 2012 (UTC)
Hey! Yeah, I felt bad about my quick reversion of the image, so I added it to my user page to hang onto it for further consideration. Tales from the Endor Woods, you say? Actually, that would be amazing. That's really nice of you to offer. Thanks for that, and for taking the time to clean up that cel, too. It's really appreciated. Does Tales from The Endor Woods have subtitles? If so, any chance you could confirm the spelling of his name? Thanks again. :) Menkooroo 03:54, March 14, 2012 (UTC)
OK, this is the best I could do. The episode doesn't have any good closeups of Trebla (spelling confirmed by closed captioning), but these might be better than the YouTube caps or the animation cel. (Remove the images from the gallery once you decide so the non-used ones can get deleted.) Let me know if you need any other images from the episode; I took a few other screen caps that might be useful. The DVD transfer wasn't the best on this title, but it's decent. :) ~Savage 14:49, March 16, 2012 (UTC)
Holy crap! I can't thank you enough for this. I just noticed that you uploaded DVD screencaps of the two youtube images I had placed in the bio. Seriously, you are amazing. Check out the article now; you've also provided a great image for the bio's final section. :) Menkooroo 17:08, March 18, 2012 (UTC)

Problem with Dramatis personae in NJO novels
Hi Menkooroo. I saw you as one of the participants for WP:NJO and thought you will be familiar with this era. I have some question for you. I'm progressing with my readings thru all novels from that era and I noticed, most novels before Destiny's Way have wrongly written titles Jedi Knight in dramatis personae sect. (mainly Jacen, Jaina, and other survivors of Myrkr strike team) before actual knighting ceremony. I realized that while reading Destiny's Way and adding appearances as I go. I'm not sure how that problem should be corrected in each previous novels before Destiny's Way. Should I simply change them to Jedi apprentice and put ref. in notes and references or leave it and put ref. stating "he/she should be Jedi apprentice" ? Or do you have other idea how to solve this pretty complex issue? More, I'm not sure if Anakin, Jacen, Jaina, Lowbacca, Tenel Ka etc. were automaticaly knighted in one of Young Jedi Knights books when they graduated from Jedi academy. I didn't pay attention to that, cause I didn't know it would become problem later in NJO. I also want to do that right according all wookieepedia rules. Thanks for your help.--Jedi Marty 17:02, March 21, 2012 (UTC)

Pash Cracken
Heya. Basically Pash Cracken was in the game virtually identical to the way the Tarrin Datch article is written in regards to his inclusion in the game. I can probably fix up the Pash article up today to include his actions in SWG. StarsiderSWG 15:14, March 22, 2012 (UTC)
I do have a picture similar to the Tarrin Datch one. I'll upload it here once I find it. StarsiderSWG 02:33, March 23, 2012 (UTC)
That information looks pretty accurate to me! This is the best image I have of Pash from the game. It was taken from the collection window, so it's unfortunately quite small. The game was shut down only months after these ace pilot things were added, so no close-up pictures exist of these pilots as far as I know. StarsiderSWG 14:32, March 24, 2012 (UTC)
No problem! Glad I could help. StarsiderSWG 15:53, March 25, 2012 (UTC)
RE: Questions
Hi, Menk.
I would feel honored to do so and I'm glad to help. I would prefer to be asked the questions on the talk page as my e-Mail programm is not reliable.
A question for those who review my articles. :D No to be honest, I believe the more GAs you write the better you get. As a non-native English speaker it is a little bit more difficult because you have to translate your thoughts into another language. But I believe it is save to say that your writing improves with the time. Many errors are that you do not know such things as context, Point-of-view or some other stuff. And that's gone after some noms. However, it also depends on the sort of the article. If you write 20 character articles and write your first battle article it is something completely different. Clone Commander LeeTalk 14:25, March 26, 2012 (UTC)
Yes, I believe it is. Without reviewers no articles would pass. Especially important is the AgriCorps whose members are our elite users who are very experienced in writing and reviewing GAs. You can help a lot by reviewing articles and you'll learn the rules for promoting an article. I'll try to review as many GANs as I could with my long-range aim to be an AC some day. Clone Commander LeeTalk 14:34, March 26, 2012 (UTC)
That's it. Would be nice if you could fix any grammatical mistakes or other errors. Once again, thank you. Clone Commander LeeTalk 14:34, March 26, 2012 (UTC)
Thanks for the heads-up Menk; not sure how I missed that. All dealt with now :) - Cavalier One(Squadron channel) 10:24, March 28, 2012 (UTC)
RE: DarkStryder
Hey Menk; while I have no objections to you writing up a character on the list, Brannij could be problematic. Brannij is tied into the ending of the campaign and Sarne's downfall, which has multiple options for resolution and I'm not entirely sure how I'm going to address it yet. I don't want to be in the situation where writing up at least two other major articles (Sarne and the Battle of Kathol) would either have to adhere to the existing article, or force a change in the Brannij article to tie in with the sequence of events. Especially since Sarne won't be ready for a long while yet. Of course, keeping the resolution deliberately vague would work, but there may still have to be revision at a later date to tie everything together. Of course, I'm happy to collaborate on the specific sections I have worries about since I have extensive notes tucked away somewhere :) - Cavalier One(Squadron channel) 13:55, March 30, 2012 (UTC)
No problems. Depending on what type of character you wish to write up, I could probably make a few suggestions. Generally, though, if a character appears in a specific adventure, they are rarely mentioned outside of it. Only a few have multiple appearances, but they have a tendency to be mentioned in odd places. - Cavalier One(Squadron channel) 14:03, March 30, 2012 (UTC)

New proposal: splitting large articles
Hey, Menk. Since you seem to be successful in proposing new things, like the GAs on the Main Page, I was wondering if I could get your feedback on this proposal. Essentially, we've now reached the point where articles (namely Wedge) are so long that they cause browsers to hang up, so I think it's time to revisit the idea of splitting large articles into multiple pages. Any and all feedback would be appreciated. :) —MJ—Jedi Council ChambersWednesday, April 4, 2012, 01:20 UTC
I think you've done a good job of explaining your reasoning for the proposal, and since it seems like the kind of idea that would intrinsically turn some people off, that kind of explanation is essential. I'll admit that my first thought was "Split articles? No way!" But then I read it and thought "Ah, yeah, that makes sense." Copy-editing Wedge on the crappy computer I had at work about a year and a half ago was certainly frustrating. I think the proposal might benefit if you gave an example --- ie, create a few sandbox pages and split Wedge up into them so that people would know exactly what the split article would look like. Does that make sense? As for my recent luck in CTs, I was fortunate enough to have had the Mofference to gauge the community's thoughts first, and then a subsequent SH thread. Do you plan to bring this to the SH before CTing it? I've found that large-scale changes like this usually need multiple feedback forums before they have any chance of succeeding. I say multiple because sometimes a single SH thread isn't enough for people to air all of their grievances. Even if people like the idea, there are usually a lot more details to iron out than you might expect. So, yeah, SH it. Maybe twice. :P Menkooroo 01:51, April 4, 2012 (UTC)
Thanks for the feedback. I definitely intend on creating an example with Wedge and taking it to the SH first; in fact, the proposal in the sandbox is essentially a draft of the initial SH post. I'll think it over for a few days while I work out the example. Again, thanks for the input. :) —MJ—Jedi Council ChambersWednesday, April 4, 2012, 01:57 UTC
No problem. Thanks for coming to me. :) I'll be happy to participate in the SH thread, too. Menkooroo 02:04, April 4, 2012 (UTC)

Hey Menk, no worries. :) I'd like to get a second opinion on something about the image though—the person in the top left corner appears to maybe have purplish-colored skin. I'd assume it's a Keshiri, but I'm not positive… Thoughts? Jonjedigrandmaster(Talk) 17:35, April 7, 2012 (UTC)
Cool. Actually, per the timing of the image (Sith betraying the Jedi right as Ves was trying to distract Ben), the guy attacking Luke in the top right is Gavar. Jonjedigrandmaster(Talk) 00:31, April 8, 2012 (UTC)
Hi Menk, do you think maybe you can take care of it, seeing as you have the source? I also believe the info won't be enough to push him into being a GA? Hanzo Hasashi 14:54, April 8, 2012 (UTC)
Nala is done, can I get a prenom before taking him to the GAN? Can I also get prenoms for Palso Thern, Hakin and Maer, whom I have expanded to 250+ words, as they were originally CAs which passed with over 200? Hanzo Hasashi 17:04, April 8, 2012 (UTC)

Also a question about Maer. Though I know you supported his CA nom last spring, do you think, from the card photo, it was obvious he fought in the Battle of Hoth, or could he have just been on some scouting/training mission? Hanzo Hasashi 04:14, April 9, 2012 (UTC)
I read Sompeetalay's blog, and though I know that isn't a canon source, he lists Maer as one of the troops who did fight in the trenches. If you disagree it's as simple as me just reverting the edit. Hanzo Hasashi 04:44, April 9, 2012 (UTC)
Reverted to a previous version. And all my articles are no longer inuse, ready for prenom. Hanzo Hasashi 21:07, April 9, 2012 (UTC)
RE:Triumvirate
I copied and pasted the info from the K'Kruhk page. AH2000 13:25, April 9, 2012 (UTC)
116 ABY
Jan Duursema was the illustrator for the Star Wars: Legacy comic books as well as many titles and she was the co-creator of characters like Aayla Secura, Quinlan Vos, and CADE SKYWALKER. Back in 2006, she confirmed on the Jedi Council Forums that cade was 21 at the time of the Massacre at Ossus in 137 ABY. Yes she made a statement about Ben being Cade's ancestor that was debuked when Sue Rostoni (the executive editor and fiction & comic editor at Lucas Licensing at the time) said the they would not confirm or denial that at this point, but I have found no similar statement about cade's age (if you do let me know). Dispite what you said, public statements made by qualified people can be considered canon if an offical spokesperson does not denies them.
Oh and one more thing, if Cade wasn't born in 116 ABY, then why does it clearly state it on his page. AH2000 14:18, April 10, 2012 (UTC)
I'm a Gank Killer, better you than me
Hey, Menk. I noticed the recent AC probe of Gank, and the question of whether Gank and Gank Killer should be separate articles. I've been doing some preliminary research on this question, and my conclusion is that they should not be separate. While in earlier sources it is ambiguous whether all Ganks are necessarily Gank Killers, ever since A Guide to the Star Wars Universe (Third Edition), they two terms have been established as synonyms. The most recent source to mention the matter, The Complete Star Wars Encyclopedia, maintains this stance. As such, could you do any necessary magic to merge the two articles? There's no info in the Gank Killer article that isn't also present in Gank, and I've made sure the source and appearance list at Gank has been expanded to take into account those at Gank Killer. That means a simple redirect of Gank Killer to Gank should suffice. However, I know that there's sometimes some merger magic that needs to be done to merge not just the articles but their edit histories as well. That I leave to you and the other folks with the tools. :) Thanks! ~Savage 18:27, April 11, 2012 (UTC)
I think the only way to preserve an edit history is to actually move a page, but since Gank already exists, we can't very well move Gank Killer to it --- I think redirecting is the only way to go here. I could be wrong; Xd or another technical wizard would probably know better. Menkooroo 18:30, April 11, 2012 (UTC)
OK, thanks. I'll ask. I'm unsure when a history merge is or is not warranted; it's something they do on Wikipedia. ~Savage 18:43, April 11, 2012 (UTC)
Hello Menkooroo! I'm having some trouble with the image uploader. I'm trying to upload an image for my userpage and it won't let me for some reason. Can you help me out? Thank you! OtterSurf 13:45, April 24, 2012 (UTC)
It won't let me upload an image for my user page. It's a screenshot .png. I keep pressing "upload" and it just returns me to the upload form. I AM SO FRUSTRATED!!! Thanks for any help you can offer. OtterSurf 13:44, May 4, 2012 (UTC)
PLEASE HELP ME. I've filled in all the karking fields and it still won't upload the image! OtterSurf 14:12, May 4, 2012 (UTC)
I've tried all that. I'll post a question. THanks for the pointer! OtterSurf 19:29, May 4, 2012 (UTC)
Hi, me again. The uploader warning says that I need to achieve a certain number of edits to be able to upload something. How many edits do I need to make? OtterSurf 19:08, June 4, 2012 (UTC)
Yep, I'm still getting into trouble. All I want is a picture for my userpage. OtterSurf 11:43, June 6, 2012 (UTC)
Insider 133
Thanks for looking through all the adaptations; it's certainly not something I can do at the present moment, since I'm still half a continent away from my books, many of which aren't movie adaptations to begin with. It's appreciated. Does the article include any information besides pointing out a specific extra as Voren? jSarek 04:56, April 30, 2012 (UTC)
Thanks again. I'll see about getting to it by this weekend. :-) jSarek 04:46, May 3, 2012 (UTC)
Re:Consensus
To make this clear, I was not avoiding any CT whatsoever, Menk. Furthermore, organizing something that was in need of fixing did not violate any CT or the one that was recently passed. With your "modeled" comment, I believe you're only following precedence that was established with the FAN, and that does not mean that whatever is established in the FAN needs to carry to the GAN. While queue may have been modeled after the FAN's via a CT, the pages themselves were not a part of those discussions. I have already taken your comment into consideration and removed the sections since any order was fine. JangFett(Talk) 00:54, May 1, 2012 (UTC)
To be more specific, please point out where it said that you could dump the new queue rules right on top of everything else in the instructions. To be fair, Menk, I believe you're making a big deal out of something than it really is. Simply organizing something does not violate anything. The words that were placed in the instructions were not touched and I already have added in a line that was accidentally removed when I was organizing. JangFett(Talk) 01:06, May 1, 2012 (UTC)
I am very familiar with the CT, thank you, Menk. Accusing me of being ignorant of it does not help this case. JangFett(Talk) 01:18, May 1, 2012 (UTC)
And I didn't take it as an insult. Even though I did not vote in either of the CTs does not mean I am not aware of them. JangFett(Talk) 01:25, May 1, 2012 (UTC)
Comments
Hello Menkooroo,
Please be aware that your assertion of being "tired of this" prompted me to advise you to take a chill pill. In the future, you may want to refrain from expressions of displeasure as the means by which you hope to convey a point, as such statements may elicit the types of responses you received. Furthermore, if it is an example you are attempting to make out of someone, take care that the someone doesn't end up being you. Thanks,—Tommy9281 Thursday, May 3, 2012, 00:06 UTC

Hey Menk, if you have time, could you please log into IRC? Thanks. JangFett(Talk) 05:58, May 3, 2012 (UTC)
Chall Bekan
Hello Menkooroo, SavageBob and I are debating whether or not Chall Bekan should by default be considered the other ANH Morseerian. I remember on IRC we talked about this before, and we both agreed that they should not be automatically assumed to be the same. Can you share your thoughts? Hanzo Hasashi 15:02, May 7, 2012 (UTC)
The Unauthorized Star Wars Compendium
Hey Menk. I see you've added a {{Delete}} tag on The Unauthorized Star Wars Compendium article, but I reckon it's not a very obvious call. Wouldn't you think it would be more suitable to try and trash compact it? I say this because I believe the article would fulfill the "Content" requirement for notability, but that's debatable. Let's have that debate! Cheers. Stake blackmsg 20:58, May 9, 2012 (UTC)
On a related note, when dealing with a potentially non-notable fan project, please use {{Notability}} instead of {{Verify}}. {{Notability}} is designed for this purpose, better communicates the problem, and operates in the same way (deletion after seven days). —MJ—HolocommWednesday, May 9, 2012, 21:19 UTC
Oops, I meant "Verify". Anyway, I suppose you are right about those other books. Still, I'm going to see how the other editors feel about it, if you don't mind. Cheers. Stake blackmsg 23:10, May 9, 2012 (UTC)
Bob Hudsol
Hello Menkooroo, can you do a source/adaptation check for Bob Hudsol? It seems that Skippy looked into his adaptations and other sources back in 2010, but I want to be sure the list is complete first. Can I also get a GA prenom too? Hanzo Hasashi 19:00, May 14, 2012 (UTC)

Blog stuff
Hey, Menk, I just CC'ed you on some answers to a questionnaire CavalierOne sent me a while ago. Take a look! ~Savage 15:17, May 15, 2012 (UTC)
Fixed Grondorn, and the link to quest was done by Starsider. I'll ask him for more quotes, it's clear he says more stuff. Hanzo Hasashi 20:25, May 15, 2012 (UTC)
Looks like Grondorn's indeed eligible for FA status. Now that I think it's complete, can I get a final lookover before it goes into the FA nom page? Hanzo Hasashi 17:35, May 20, 2012 (UTC)

Comet
Could you archive Comet, as I like the idea of starting over on the FAN page. Thanks, 501stdogma(talk) 19:59, May 16, 2012 (UTC)
OK, thanks anyway. 501stdogma(talk) 20:04, May 16, 2012 (UTC)
Wiki stuff
Hi again. I was just wondering if you knew why some things have changed on this wiki since yesterday. For the new wiki layout, typing in a search query does not give you options anymore, and the options given to you when linking have changed in appearance. Did wikia change stuff again? 501stdogma(talk) 20:17, May 16, 2012 (UTC)
Are you on monobook? If so, that may be why I see the changes and you don't. 501stdogma(talk) 20:24, May 16, 2012 (UTC)
It seems a lot of the changes Wikia is doing affect the new wiki layout more than monobook, but I started on the new wiki layout, so its hard to change over. Thanks, 501stdogma(talk) 20:40, May 16, 2012 (UTC)

Hello Menkooroo. I've been working on the Talisman of the Raven recently, and I inted to nominate as a Good Article soon. If you're interested and not too busy, I'd like to know if you could give me a prenom review. I've been told you were rigorous ;-) but I need that--English isn't my first language so there might be numerous problems. Cheers.--LelalMekha 09:19, May 21, 2012 (UTC)
To answer your preliminary questions:
Properties -- That observation makes sense, I'll try to find a way to fix it. Let me figure this out.
May or may not be Talzin -- In "Book of Sith", Talzin actually says that the Talismans are kept by the Shaman, and she adds "One of our sisters has yet to return the Talisman of the Raven." The point is we don't know if Talzin was already the shaman in charge when Charal stole the Talisman. It is possible that Talzin inherited a "missing magical items list" from her predecessor. The formulation may not be appropriate, though...
Reference to Book of Sith -- It's a dumb editing mistake. Has been fixed by now. Thanks for pointing out. ;-)
Charal's fate -- Nope, the movie does't say it, but quite a bunch of sources do. Fixed.
Captions -- Fixed that too. --LelalMekha 09:12, May 22, 2012 (UTC)
If you have time, sure. ;-) --LelalMekha 08:12, June 10, 2012 (UTC)
There, I think I addressed all the issues you were pointing out to me. Juts take a look whenever you want, and if you're okay with it, I'll probably go on with the nom. --LelalMekha 08:46, June 24, 2012 (UTC)
Well, I asked for it, didn't I? :p Also, if you have a moment one of those days, be sure to review my Charal FAN, now that we're sure there was nothing of note in this SW Insider 62. ;-) --LelalMekha 17:51, June 24, 2012 (UTC)
Brooks Carlson in Star Wars Encyclopedia
Hello Menkooroo, IIRC you have the Star Wars Character Encyclopedia, so would you be able to answer Trak's question on my Brooks nom as to whether or not he's pictured on page 154? Hanzo Hasashi 18:37, May 22, 2012 (UTC)

Palejo Reshad
Hello Menkooroo, I have found all of Palejo Reshad's scenes in Return. When you have the time, can you look through the sources and adaptations? I can send you screenshots if it helps. By the way, I have decided to just nominate TK-577, so if you do give a review, leave any comments, objections, etc. on the nom page itself. Hanzo Hasashi 21:00, May 24, 2012 (UTC)
Barn-burner 4
I would just like to thank you for your participation in the barn-burner. So far only three article have been nominated, but we have ten more being nominated. If you have time, please stop over at the review pages and give the barn-burner articles a review. Since some people wanted the barn-burner to be in June, I was thinking that we should extend it through June to catch more nominations. If you have any comments please reply on the Barn-burner page. We on IRC have been wondering when you'd show up :P My talk page'd be fine, and I'll get back to you on images. Oh, and Trak wants you to come to IRC - she has good news or something CadeCalrayn 03:43, June 4, 2012 (UTC)
Since we weren't sure when you were going to interview Cade, and he was getting anxious, we started to do an experimental IRC interrogation, which got cut short when we saw you had posted your questions. We'd like to work these into the Wordpress post: http://pastebin.com/fjE2Njkf -- Darth Culator(Talk) 05:16, June 4, 2012 (UTC)
I weakly object to the word "anxious". More like slightly aggrieved :P CadeCalrayn 05:19, June 4, 2012 (UTC)
Oh, and I used some of the IRC answers for similar questions in Menk's questionnaire. CadeCalrayn 05:20, June 4, 2012 (UTC)

Droid Barn-Burner extension
Hello, <insert name here>, this is Exiled Jedi, and I am here to tell you that barn-burner 4 has been extended into June. We have currently passed three comprehensive articles, and have four featured article nominations and eight good article nominations. So if you have the time, stop by and review some of the articles for the barn-burner. Also, it would be great if each of the barn-burner contributors could do one more nomination each, so that we could have a good turn-out! Hello Menkooroo. I saw you've recently removed the lists of owners from the R2-D2 and C-3PO articles. I do not question it—you most probably have a very good reason, but I'm still curious. What is the point of getting rid of them, exactly ? --LelalMekha 21:15, June 23, 2012 (UTC)

Advice for an article
Hey Menk, how are you doing? Do you think you could take a look at this, provide a pre-nom review, and advise me on what needs to be done as far as an article for the Battle of Mygeeto? You'll see what I mean in the article. Thanks in advance.—Jedi Kasra (comlink) 04:00, June 25, 2012 (UTC)
Re:TOR date
Hey Menkooroo,
Thanks for the message. I try to catch that stuff where I can, but there are so many TOR articles, it's not easy to hit every one. As you can see, the referencelists for TOR articles are pains in the ass. If Winterz isn't clear on what needs to be noted, feel free to direct him to me. Or if you ever have anymore questions, my door's always open. :) Darth Trayus(Trayus Academy) 06:20, June 25, 2012 (UTC)
First dead stormie
Hello Menkooroo, at some point I might nominate this guy in Morrt's absence. Could you do a check through the adaptations and other sources. I already know he appears in the novel and junior novel, with no new info. I'd say a good amount of DV-692 or this stormtrooper's adaptations would also include him. Hanzo Hasashi 04:00, June 26, 2012 (UTC)
He's not in Death Star. Also, the closest mention in Rise and Fall is "Several stormtroopers were shot down by the Tantive IV's crew upon entry." Do you think that should warrant as a mention? I'd say yes. Hanzo Hasashi (talk) 14:48, June 26, 2012 (UTC)
Also, do you know about the radio drama or its script? Hanzo Hasashi (talk) 14:49, June 26, 2012 (UTC)
Thanks, sometimes I don't know how far their affiliations go. The ones that are actually affiliated with Jabba should have a Hutt Cartel character infobox such as the Gammorrean Guards, Tessek, Ephant Mon and Jabba himself.

Sanyassan
Hello, Menk. Now that the Charal edit is done (at last?), I can only wait for more people supporting/objecting the nom. I intend to work on the Sanyassan article for future FAN. As I know you possess the Who's Who in Star Wars Galaxies, woud you be so kind to tell me if there's anything of interest there? Thanks. --LelalMekha (talk) 00:38, July 4, 2012 (UTC)
That can wait, for sure. ;-) Don't worry about that. It will take more than two weeks to upgrade this article, at any rate. By the way, if you have no more objection or anything to add to the Charal FAN, I certainly wouldn't mind your voting! Wait, do I look like I'm begging? :O ;-) --LelalMekha (talk) 00:46, July 4, 2012 (UTC)
You are correct. I do intend to GAN the card players and FAN Terak... one day. I have already started upgrading the latter, but more needs doing—much more. In fact, I'm very fond of this Ewok movie, even if it looks a bit cheesy. :) --LelalMekha (talk) 00:54, July 4, 2012 (UTC)
By the way, thank you for your time
I wanted to thank you in passing for the time you spent reviewing my noms so thoroughly. I've been an unassuming editor for a long time, and it seems I have been struck with nomination madness. Thanks. I've followed you advice and edited the article accordingly. Egad, those blatant errors I still make after 4 successful GA's and one FA's... --LelalMekha (talk) 09:04, July 30, 2012 (UTC)
Hey Menk. I'v just seen that Attichitcuk is in your "to-do" list. As a matter of fact, it's in mine too—I'm fond of that old coot, and I wondered if it wouldn't be beneficial to try and work on it together, joining our sources and potential drafts. Regards. --LelalMekha (talk) 20:18, July 29, 2012 (UTC)
Right then. There is a source I would like to use, but I'm not sure it would be proper, though. I'm talking about the fourth draft script of the Holiday Special. It could be really useful, because the Wookiee dialogues are written in English in this script. This explains a lot things that happen during those lengthy scenes in Shyriiwook. What do you think? (Oh, by the way, if you have no time for a review, could you just copy-edit the black-bearded Sanyassan? I'd like to move on with this one.) --LelalMekha (talk) 20:28, July 29, 2012 (UTC)

Hume Tarl
Hey Menkooroo. I recently nommed Hume Tarl, who appeared in ROTJ, and was directed by Hanzo to seek help from you regarding adaptions of the movie. Tarl only appears here (the trooper in the very front for the first few seconds of the video) in the movie. Could you check the PhotoComic and other sources you might think he's in. This is my first movie nom, so I have no idea of what he may be in. I won't be able to edit for the next week, so if you manage to find any other sources he's in, I won't be able to respond immediately. Thanks a lot, 501stdogma(talk) 15:30, July 30, 2012 (UTC)
Hey Menkooroo, saw that comment you gave to 501st Dogma, can we 100% pinpoint Tarl as being the speaker? If so, is that contradictory to the film, which just has him silently escort the strike team out, before a stormtrooper says "Alright, move it!" Hanzo Hasashi (talk) 21:10, July 30, 2012 (UTC)
Not entirely sure if it's him. Maybe it would be best for the BTS just to note that there's a speech bubble pointing toward both him and one other trooper, without asserting that there's a contradiction or anything. Menkooroo (talk) 21:15, July 30, 2012 (UTC)
In that case, even though I guess it shouldn't go into the body, as I don't have the comic in question, I still wonder does that line present any contradictions with what we see in the film, or no? Hanzo Hasashi (talk) 21:23, July 30, 2012 (UTC)
I'm leaning toward no. If it were a modification of a line from the movie, the line from the movie would take precedence, but this seems like a case where it's a new line that's just a c-canon addition onto the events of the film. Then again, someone does say "Alright, move it!" to the Rebels in the film. I wonder if that's Tarl? It sounds like a stormtrooper's voice. Menkooroo (talk) 22:17, July 30, 2012 (UTC)
Ok. I take it then that line in question could have been said right before the onscreen parts of the film or something? And yeah it does sound like a stormtrooper says "Alright, move it!" The script also says the same thing. However, I doubt we can tell which one is the one speaking. Hanzo Hasashi (talk) 22:44, July 30, 2012 (UTC)
Thanks for the help Menkooroo and Hanzo. I've added some stuff to the BtS and P&T, though I didn't add the quote, as I have suitable quotes already. 501stdogma(talk) 14:51, August 7, 2012 (UTC)

Hello,
I can supply you with an e-mail sent to me by Karen Traviss to Marcus Bevan confirming the information as the naming of Goran Beviin. How should I send a copy of this e-mail too you? The e-mail does contain some personal information in it, how would this be handled as I am sure Ms. Traviss and Mr. Bevan (Me) would not want this e-mail shared with any kind of group or community. I am not trying to stroke my own ego, I just wanted to contribute to the "Wookieepedia" information regarding Goran.
To further the proof that Karen and I are friends and we are close check out the Dedication of the book "Gears of War: Anvil Gate" as she dedicated that novel to me as well.
I am happy to offer proof, I just don't want my or Ms. Traviss' private e-mails shared amongst folks I don't know.
Best,

Thank you!
Wow, thank you! I am grateful for the Wookiee Cookiee since its nice being appreciated. The Hutt article has a lot of work still needed for it but I tried to expand and put in more events as well as citing the sources. So, thanks again, you made my day! :) Darth Batrus (talk) 11:17, August 11, 2012 (UTC)
Kattada radio
Apparently the Battle of Kattada was based off stuff from Star Wars (radio). Do you know where I can access it, or who I can ask to check Radio for the info? Thanks, 501stdogma(talk) 18:50, August 11, 2012 (UTC)
Thanks! 501stdogma(talk) 20:21, August 11, 2012 (UTC)
I've listened to episode 2, but it gives no mention of Kattada. The comic does later mention her getting away from Tion on Raltiir, but the Kattada stuff is all new. Thanks for showing me the links! 501stdogma(talk) 21:02, August 11, 2012 (UTC)
Hello,
I am the guy that tried adding the information about the naming of Goran Beviin, and you gave me some advice about how to post the e-mail from Karen stating she did name the character for me. So I got the screen-shot, but I use a MacBook Pro, and don't have Microsoft paint in order to block out the more personal information shared between my friend and I, would you have any other suggestions?
Thanks,

Hey. For accuracy, I should note that Wikia just told me that they will not be able to help us with internet, so it should be simply be noted that we will have a laptop connected to the site and IRC. Once they got done paying for the banner and brochures, there wasn't anything left in the budget for them to help us with internet. You might, however, want to note that they they are providing the banner and brochures, and maybe include an image of the actual banner as well. Thanks for the post. :D —MJ—War RoomWednesday, August 15, 2012, 19:11 UTC

Comprehensive
What's Kentucky jelly and what's that got to do with my porcelain pretties? Sure, I'd love to. :D E-mail's probably not a good idea, since my account has a lot of spam. (I've been meaning to replace it, but bah.) You could ask me on my talk page or whenever we're both on the IRC at the same time. Doesn't particularly matter to me. NaruHinaTalk 20:15, August 15, 2012 (UTC)
I am a very spontaneous writer, enjoy eccentricity, and most of my CAs are off-the-cuff, things I discovered one afternoon that made me think something like "Mother of God, we have a Sonic Screwdriver article." The Sonic Screwdriver was canonized by a single mention in the back end of one Conviction chapter and a lot, probably by mass the bulk of individual Star Wars elements—and that means a lot of the silliness I enjoy—consists of similar references. Before Comprehensive Articles, these articles were created then ignored, a horrid injustice! The people have a right to know that they could go down to the Wookiee's Codpiece and listen to hits like "Four Dimensions" or "Bureaucracy Blues" on the jizz-box while the chef uses an egg timer to cook your bacon perfectly! Also, CAs have allowed me to say that I have written on everything from A to Z. That isn't an idiom for me and for that alone they are indispensable. For Comprehension!
The part I least like is the times when we legislate from the nom page, which can be an irksome hurdle at times, but potential noobies probably shouldn't be made aware of that. Yes, it can still be challenging in its own ways. Alongside the shorter length comes a responsibility to be laconic, which is something I've always struggled with. People will be able to look at your sentence structure and grammar with a much, much keener eye when it's less than 250 words. When people speak, they make innumerable grammar mistakes and it's just natural to want to write that way. You can get away with starting a sentence with a preposition, or a split infinitive, or nesting appositive statements occasionally on the FAN or GAN, but grammar geeks like me will be there to point and screech cheerily at it on the CAN. I actually revel in grammar, so it's a plus for me.
Something all of us who write CAs have to watch out for is the idea that it's "Just 250 words." Sometimes people think it's OK to just punch out the words and slap a nomination tag on the page. Writing requires revision and an objective perspective on the words, which you won't find in the twenty minutes you spend writing it out the first draft. The words won't won't come out perfectly and you may well forget elements. Now, people will say "Naru, you vociferous Waruist, reviewers will catch any mistakes I made," and they're awesome and do catch a lot. However, these aren't articles like Jaina Solo or Mount Sorrow, where any peripheral Star Wars fan should be able to point out continuity errors. They're one-off mentions—the literal bread and butter of the galaxy—and people cannot be expected to know anything about it before reading what you dug up. You have to be certain you've covered the topic correctly.
So how was that? Any soundbites you like? NaruHinaTalk 08:02, August 16, 2012 (UTC)

Duel on the Temple of the Ancients
Hey Menkooroo I'm thinking of nominating this article as a GA. Think you could look it over and see if it's worthy of such nomination? DarthRevan1173 (Long live Lord Revan) 01:38, August 16, 2012 (UTC)
It looks like it's long enough to be nominated for an FA, if you're interested. It should have a main image in the infobox, since it's from a video game. I don't really have time to read over the entire thing right now, but looking at the final paragraph of "Behind the scenes," I see a lot of speculation. "It is assumed that Darth Revan visited all his former strongholds searching for something that is not yet readily apparent." If you watch the "Jedi Civil War" video here; we actually do know now what Revan was searching for. Menkooroo (talk) 02:19, August 16, 2012 (UTC)
Will take another look at that video and update it. It originally had a picture in the infobox but was removed by an admin since "Mullet Revan" has not been comfirmed to be what Revan looks like during the events of Kotor. DarthRevan1173 (Long live Lord Revan) 02:28, August 16, 2012 (UTC)
Yorr GAN
I am glad that I have passed the word requirement to be brought up to GAN on this article. What do you suggest I need to fix before giving the go ahead? Matt Seay (talk) 02:53, August 16, 2012 (UTC)
I can remove the article from the CAN page now if you want. But before you bring it to the GAN page, be sure to address every objection that's been placed by Hanzo and NaruHina. Menkooroo (talk) 02:56, August 16, 2012 (UTC)
I think the main problem is the body of the article, that is what most of the objections have been about. There are a couple things that need a reference and one or two things need re wording but after that it should be good to go. Matt Seay (talk) 02:59, August 16, 2012 (UTC)
It's now been archived. Feel free to take it to the GAN page whenever you think it's complete. Yeah, definitely make sure everything's sourced. A couple more tips:
According to the Layout Guide on character articles, the section should be "Biography" instead of "Career." A "Personality and traits" section is also needed.
Sub-sections for the biography are pretty unsightly when they're only a few sentences long. For an article this short, I recommend keeping "Biography" as one big section and doing away with the sub-sections (eg "COMPNOR," "Onyx Squadron," etc).
Expand the intro. It should be a short summary of the biography, but one sentence isn't enough. Try to get the key points of his life across. Menkooroo (talk) 03:08, August 16, 2012 (UTC)
Okay, got ya, I understand. Just making these last few changes and I should have it well under way to being a GAN. I wanna make sure this is a really good article. This will be my first GAN. Matt Seay (talk) 03:12, August 16, 2012 (UTC)
Hi again. According to the original article, Star Wars Miniatures: Rebel Storm is counted as a source. However, isn't this considered merchandise, meaning it should not be on this wiki? Thanks, 501stdogma(talk) 12:29, August 16, 2012 (UTC)
Never mind. I got the answer on Senate Hall. Thanks anyways, 501stdogma(talk)
CA NewsNet
Here are my answers to your questions for the CA NewNet post:
What is a Comprehensive article? How does it differ from a Good or a Featured article?
To me, a Comprehensive article is merely a smaller version of a Good article or Featured article. Comprehensive articles have the same basic requirements as their larger cousins, with the main exception being that CAs do not require an introduction unless they are over 200 words. Most CAs are going to be on minor subjects that make very brief appearances or quick mentions. If a subject played a minor, yet significant role, it is likely that it will need to be nominated as a Good article instead of as a Comprehensive article. Still, the process of creating comprehensive articles is quite fun, especially when doing quick one-mention subjects in novels such as my CAs Metrisse or womat.
Writing CAs helped you break into the status-article-writing business last year. Was it good experience in terms of learning the ins-and-outs of article writing?
The CA process definitely helped me overhaul work on my article writing skills. My first two Comprehensive article nominations ended up on becoming Good articles, but they helped me figure out what was CA material and what should be made into a Good article. For me Comprehesive articles were an excellent stepping stone towards writing larger articles. As I continued writing CAs, I became aware of more rules and stylistic preferences for writing articles. After encountering an objection in one of CA nominations, I would do my best to remember to avoid it in the future, which eventually allowed me to learn the rules to the point where I was appointed as a member of the EduCorps in September of 2011. The learning experience of writing CAs has also improved my article-writing skills so that I have much fewer objections on my larger nominations.
I hope this is what you wanted, I look foward to seeing the NewsNet post. (Disclaimer: Contrary to popular belief, CAs do not make good lunches. Well, most don't.)--Exiled Jedi(Greetings) 17:55, August 17, 2012 (UTC)
The article looks great, next thing I need to do is crank out some more so the CAN page isn't empty.--Exiled Jedi(Greetings) 13:04, August 21, 2012 (UTC)

Skosef pictures
Hi! As I'm currently working on Skosef, I've had to try to obtain pictures for the guy. However, my scanner does not get very high resolution pictures, and when I try to make it higher, I can't use Paint to cut the picture to the right size. Because of this, I am unable to obtain pictures of Skosef. Is it OK that I don't have them in the article as I nominate it? Thanks in advance for your response, 501stdogma(talk) 16:26, August 27, 2012 (UTC)
Awesome! There was one where Skosef's pointing the pistol at the back of Bartam's head in issue 3 that I'd though would be good. There was also one where Skosef watches the explosian and comments in it, in issue 2. The issue 2 one will probally replace the current main image. Itchy in 4 ABY
Hello Menkooroo. Now I've decided to work on Attichitcuk, I'm having a little chronology problem, and I'd like to have your opinion on the matter—since you wrote Lumpawaroo and brought it to FA status. As you probably know both the Wookiee campaign of Star Wars: Galactic Battlegrounds and the events depicted in Star Wars 91 happen in 4 ABY. However, I don't think we can't know which event happened before the other. Which came first? MoffHindane Darcc's take over or Knife and Vargi's slavery round up? Do you have any clue? --LelalMekha (talk) 17:45, August 27, 2012 (UTC)
Thank you. By the way, do you possess the Star Wars Insider 71? I posted a request in the knowledge bank, but I haven't received any answer as of now. Far Orbit
Hello again. I've been looking to aquire the book The Far Orbit Project with limited success. Amazon.com has it, but its doesn't ship to Canada. Since you're Canadian, do you know any sellers that have old Star Wars books that are willing to ship within Canada for lower prices? Indigo had a copy, but they're selling a used copy for just under $40, a bit too much, and that doesn't include shipping. Thanks in advance, 501stdogma(talk) 00:50, August 29, 2012 (UTC)

Mermeia SWG
Heya, well in SWG's Life Day events, you could get a Mind evaporator. Players who placed it in their homes, turned it on, and sat in it could hear a woman's voice saying many of the same things Mermeia says in the Holiday Special (like, "Just relax," or, "I am your fantasy" or whatever). I could grab the sound files from the TRE files if necessary. Mermeia was never actually mentioned in the game, so maybe I was incorrect to even add her as a voice-only appearance. But as the Dev's claimed to have used the Holiday Special as a guide for creating the Life Day events, and the woman said similar things to Mermeia, I figured it'd have to be the same person. StarsiderSWG (talk) 01:54, September 19, 2012 (UTC)
Re:Images
My screencaps of the Holiday Special all come from a "hybrid" edition of that movie, which tries to keep the best of all the others. It's much sharper and brighter than all the other versions you can find, but also reveals all the video noise, unfortunately. I you ever want me to replace some already existing SWHS pic, I'd be happy to oblige. --LelalMekha (talk) 07:52, September 19, 2012 (UTC)

Qui-Gon and hygiene
Hey Menk. I wanted to add something in the P&T of Qui-Gon Jinn's article, but first I need to know if I understand the meaning of a sentence well. In Star Wars: Republic 38: The Stark Hyperspace War, Part 3, Tholme and Quinlan Vos were just coming out of a sewer, and Tholme complained about the bad smell on their clothes. When Quinlan answered what Qui-Gon Jinn used to say about the futility of the looks, Tholme then said: I revere Qui-Gon, but he doesn't care that he looks like a bantha and smells like a Rodian! Not everey word from his mouth is a pearl – despite what he may himself think! I'm not a native English speaker, so I need to understand: does that quote outrightly state that Qui-Gon looked neglected and actually stank, or does that mean he wouldn't care if he stank? As a native speaker, how do you interprete Tholme's statement? --LelalMekha (talk) 23:56, September 30, 2012 (UTC)

About your commander
Hey. I was watching closely the shots I made of the unidentified Commander on Kashyyyk, and I've come up with few remarks you may want to use in the BtS somehow.
First thing: in the movies and most EU appearances, the Imperial tunic has a left over right closure on the right side of the chest, while our Commander has one in the middle. As noted in Star Wars Miniatures Battles Companion, forces far from the centralized control of the military's organization were known to flout the uniforms regulations.
In pt7 of the endnotes for TEGTW, noted: "The red-and-blue two-line rank tabs shown in the table are the type that we see in Empire and Jedi, but simply by counting pips, the system should also work for the multi-colored single-line insignia on the Death Star." Using this quote in conjunction with the table found in the book, we can make educated guesses on that guy's position and rank. If that guy is in the navy: six pips correspond to a position of Captain or Admiral/Commander/Commodore, with the line rank of a Senior Captain. If he's in the army: six pips correspond to a line rank of Commander (with an extra Imperial code cylinder).
Also, according to the rank guide found in The Essential Guide to Warfare, it is usual for a Senior Captain (or an army Commander) to have only two code cylinders. I guess the additional cylinder may be explained by the importance of his mission (finding Chewbacca), which may have required extra access rights.
I know, this borders on speculation or original research, but there are still things worth considering here. --LelalMekha (talk) 18:11, October 5, 2012 (UTC)
Although the table in Warfare is limited to the navy, you can read on page 120: "These ranks [specialist rank] are similar to the Imperial army.' And indeed, if you look at the specialists rank column, you can recognize Maximilian Veers's rank plaque for example (un der "general"). --LelalMekha (talk) 07:57, October 6, 2012 (UTC)
Well, indeed. I always read Star Wars books in English, but it remains a foreign language to me, so my understanding of those statements from Warfare may not be as acute as it should. I've seen you've added everything you could in the BtS. Good job fort the article! --LelalMekha (talk) 08:18, October 6, 2012 (UTC)
Trebla portraits again
Hey, Menk! I recently found some great sources for the Ewoks cartoons that haven't made it to DVD, so I'm making my way through the episodes and uploading higher-quality versions of the images we have here on the Wook. When I got to Curse of the Jindas, I noticed it had lots of Trebla in it. I thought I'd snap a few shots of possible infobox images for you, since I remember you couldn't really find anything you were happy with when you FA'ed his article. See below (my fave's the second one). Feel free to use any of them or none of them, but please delete the ones you end up not needing. I hope this is helpful! ~Savage 00:45, October 7, 2012 (UTC)
Thanks so much for thinking of me! Or of Trebla. Either one. I've added the first two to the article, replacing the old infobox image (which was pretty similar to the bio's first image) and the one that had a blank white background. The other two have been removed from this page and will presumably be picked up in Culator's next unused image sweep. Thanks again! Menkooroo (talk) 13:10, October 7, 2012 (UTC)
Star Wars Insiders image stubs
Hey, about the article "Appearing Knightley (and the Women of Star Wars)" where you returned the 'Image' template. The article is an interview with Keira Knightley, and while I don't have the Insider 75, I've checked some Insiders in my possession and there's no Interviews with such concrete images (with the credits and all, the Interviews are mostly just filled with backstage photos), so that's why I don't see the need for an interview with no concrete images, to have an "Important need for images" template. But anyway it's not my call, just letting you know ;) Winterz (talk) 16:55, October 8, 2012 (UTC)

My collection is quite limited while I'm away from home—I could find only two, and I added them into the "sources" subsection. Also, I have written that pop-culture paragraph you requested. Feel free to tell me if it fulfills your wishes. --LelalMekha (talk) 10:10, October 10, 2012 (UTC)
Olander Brit
Hello Menkooroo, when you have the time, could you do a source/adaptation check for Olander Brit, who appears in the same scene as characters such as Midge, Yutani and Janse? I might someday work on him. Hanzo Hasashi (talk) 16:46, October 13, 2012 (UTC)
No worries about that, I'm glad you did a search. Anyhow, I don't think that is him. Hanzo Hasashi (talk) 00:08, November 7, 2012 (UTC)
Oops! I'm not sure why, but for some reason I was thinking that the welcome message didn't count. My apologies, and thanks for setting me straight. :) --Matthias777 (talk) 12:57, October 18, 2012 (UTC)
Re: Interview
Sounds good. Do you plan on sending them via email or on my talk page?—Cal Jedi(Personal Comm Channel) 14:44, October 23, 2012 (UTC)
Yeah, email would be good, and no worries about any delays. There's no rush. Thanks.—Cal Jedi(Personal Comm Channel) 14:10, October 24, 2012 (UTC)
Done and done. As for images, it would be nice if you could include File:Calendar the Triumphant.jpg|my usual user page image in there somewhere. Thanks again.—Cal Jedi(Personal Comm Channel) 00:32, November 3, 2012 (UTC)
For your efforts in keeping Template:DidYouKnow regularly updated with fresh material. :) —MJ—Holocomm 18:39, October 24, 2012 (UTC)
Thanks for the cookiee. :) Om nom nom. And if you saw Cal's messages on my talk page when you left that, you probably already know that I'll be cooking up some interview questions for both of you within the next few days. E-mail OK? Facebook better? Menkooroo (talk) 23:44, October 24, 2012 (UTC)
Email would be better as that allows me to add links and simple formatting if needed. —MJ—Comlink 01:49, October 25, 2012 (UTC)
Question about picture
Hello menk, a question came up. What is the policy in pictures with game mechanics..is it allowed?
By game mechanics I mean this one: [1]
It's rather confusing, anyway I'll leave it to you. Thanks in advance. Winterz (talk) 14:29, October 29, 2012 (UTC)
ehrm actually it's mostly because of the poor image quality and the blue circle on the floor indicating that it is a (friendly) target of the player. Winterz (talk) 23:31, October 29, 2012 (UTC)
Heavy bearded Nulls
Hello Menkooroo. Hope you're doing fine. I wondered if you could possibly have a look at either the Null (species) or the Lord Nyax articles. I intend to GAN them in the near future, and I'd like to have your opinion on what I've already done with those two ex-stubs. Thanks in advance. ;-) Regards. --LelalMekha (talk) 23:38, October 29, 2012 (UTC)
Hey, Menk. As regards the interview, I'd rather have you interviewing directly me on my talk page. --LelalMekha (talk) 10:35, November 1, 2012 (UTC)

WOTM interview answers
Here we are. I suppose you'll want to proof-read it first, just in case yousa see sumtin baaad with mesa Basic. As regards the pictures, I would like you to include "YodaScroll.jpg" (for the "Star Wars scholar" aspect), "Darthvaderballoon.jpg" (as a tribute to my South Belgian 501st friends), "EmperorsArrival-SWE.jpg" (because Palps is my all time favorite) and possibly "Terak death.png" (to illustrate my taste for the strangest things).
You're the man of the hour. How do you feel?
When I first saw that Menkooroo had nominated me, and realized other users actually concurred, I started blushing like a schoolgirl—this may well sound the death knell for my bearded virility, but never mind. If I may paraphrase Jango Fett, I'm just a simple user trying to make my way in the galaxy of the Wook. Being chosen as the WOTM wasn't something I expected, and I feel deeply honored. In a way, despite having contributed since November 2006, only now I consider myself an established user, thanks to that special award the community has given to me. I thank you all, good brethern.
You've been a Wookieepedian for years. What inspired your recent explosion of activity?
When I arrived here in 2006, Wookieepedia was already humming like a well-oiled piece of machinery. Even then, users were encouraged to be bold and participate, but somehow, I was just too shy to do it. There wasn't some fault in the matter on the part of other users or admin, though. It is just how I felt. For years, I remained there, doing next to nothing, thinking: "Wookieepedia does not need me, everything is fine as it is." Eventually, I realized I was wrong; the Wook needs everyone's good will. Someone encouraged me to nominate one of my unassuming works as a Good Article, and then I just got on a roll.
Over the years, the Wookieepedia community has included great contributors from all over the world. Tell us a bit about where you're from, and what the Star Wars fan community is like there.
My homeland of Belgium may be a tiny country, but its Star Wars community is quite active. TeeKay-421, the 501st Belgian (Flemish) Garrison, the 501st Fanwars Southern Garrison, the Prospector Squad... It's quite a lot of fan groups for a modest-sized country with only ten millions inhabitants! I have a common past with the Fanwars Garrison, those who made that crazy Darth Vader hot air balloon. I was once one of them, and I have many fond memories of that period of my life when I donned the trappings of Darth Sidious. We Belgians are those guys who make giant props. We work hard and then party hard: that's what we are.
Does the fact that English isn't your first language add an additional challenge to editing Wookieepedia?
It definitely is a source of frustration, because the quality and beauty of my writing are affected. In my native French language, I'm quite capable of writing both academically and beautifully—at least according to others. A good wording, a brilliant sentence must not only be correct, it must also sound good. I love big words, you know, like hobbledehoy, flibbertigibbet, rambunctious. But I don't usually dare to use them lest I make mistakes. That's why I tend to harass people for copy-edits: I do my best, but I'm always certain it's never good enough.
What are some of your favorite works, and characters, from the Expanded Universe?
Although it's a rather book, I have particular affection for Dave Wolverton's The Courtship of Princess Leia. It has strong characters, lots of humor, and it's also the origin story of the Dathomiri Witches (one of my pet subjects). Of course, I like the great classics that no one would ever reject, including Timothy Zahn's and James Luceno's novels. I also have a soft spot for everything related to Yavin 4 and Alderaan. My favorite EU characters are perhaps those from Darth Bane's era, which has a marvellous medieval atmosphere and chivalric spirit.
Which SW film is best?
It was a rainy afternoon in Autumn 1994 when I first saw Star Wars Episode IV: A New Hope. I was bored to death, and my grandmother told me: "I know a movie you might like. It's about space chivalry." My six-years old self jumped for joy with anticipation. Then, my gran put that old VHS tape in the recorder, and the magic just happened. Boy, I was amazed. So much fun, so many witty one-liners. It was just like like swift draughts of sweet mead—although I had never drunk mead at the time, of course. I discovered all three original films in one week, with growing excitement. Then, Return of the Jedi was my definite favorite. I did not like the Ewoks, but Ian McDiarmid's performance as the Emperor left me awestruck. From that moment on, Palpatine became my all time favorite character, and many years later, I started impersonating him as a member of the 501st. As a precocious language nerd, I also enjoyed the profusion of Huttese dialogue in the movie.
What are your thoughts on that crazy 3D Clone Wars thing that comes on TV every Saturday?
All things considered, I think The Clone Wars—or at least the last two seasons—is a really enjoyable show. But... there's a but. Way too many things were sacrificed on the altar of "TV coolness". TCW is a show targeted a contemporary children, who usually do not known the Expanded Universe. However, others have grown up with the EU, and many of them became those "literate" Star Warriors who run the fictional Star Wars academism. As one of those Star Wars "scholars", I feel neglected by The Clone Wars. A lot, and I mean a whole lot of plotlines and other elements we took years to discover and love are just blown away. Not only does that hurt our feelings, but it is also disrespectful towards those novellists and comic books authors, who knew how to fill our appetite for more Star Wars when the excitement of a new movie was gone.
What kinds of interesting things have you come across during your editing? Any fun, or even frustrating, tidbits to be found in Star Wars canon?
There are a few things in Star Wars canon that are a bit hard to swallow, yes. Certain annoying continuity problems could have been easily solved years ago but were never addressed seriously. I think of the Alderaanian political system, which has become something of a mess since the release of Episode III. If Alderaan is rule by Queen Breha, then what is a Viceroy, and why all that fuss about the Viceroy's Ascendancy Contention if he isn't a monarch anyway? Jorus C'baoth's new timeline is also something of a retroactive continuity fail. Of course, this is nitpicking. I am a nitpicker, indeed. But ain't we all like that down here? We're mishpocha.
I'm sure there are countless readers of Wookieepedia who have considered becoming an editor one day. Do you have any advice for them?
I have two key advices for those Wookieepedian-wannabes. First thing: do not hurry. Take time to familiarize yourself with the layout guide and the manual of style, and use the sandbox. For my part, I always write early article drafts in my personal text editor. Second thing: edit on subjects you like, not on subjects that are popular or most wanted. Unusual interests make unusual articles, and unusual articles bring diversity. Your personal style and taste will be reflected in the quality of the article.
What kind of role do you think Wookieepedia plays in the broader Star Wars community?
As I mentioned before, I like to think of us as Star Wars scholars. Scholarship is a constant quest, an attempt to tie events together and then give them a sense and meaning. In the past few years, our reputation has grown within the community to the point that we've influenced canon. Voices have been heard concerniong our "meddling" with canon, which to me seems an injustice. Granted, we are not Lucasfilm officials, but I do think Wookieepedia has been serving its purpose well and has helped maintaining canon. That is something I'm immensely proud of.
What kind of role do you try to play within Wookieepedia?
I have a taste for the bizarre and the obscure. This is what I like to work with. I enjoy taking care of subjects everyone else has abandoned or forgotten. Those who are part of my circle in real life know how eccentric I can be, and my tastes in article subjects are equally outlandish. When I'm old and gray and forced to retire from editing, I want to be remembered as the "kook of the Wook."
There was some big news or something about Star Wars that was announced recently. I think it was about a mouse and some sort of sequel. What are your thoughts on it, and on the future of Star Wars in general?
Well, I will not lie: I cannnot say I welcome this news with enthusiasm. We already know the story of Episode VII will be completely original, which probably means a complete reboot of the Expanded Universe. I like my Star Wars as it is, with EU stories that are not thrid wheel. If we have to discard thirty years of prolific development, I'll be immensely disappointed. Some say it's a good opportunity to revive the franchise, but I do not think Star Wars was dead anyway. In my humble opinion, true success is quality in durability, not over-ful intensity staggering coolness. Tolkien's Lord of the Rings did not wait for Peter Jackson to live! Che sera sera, quoth Doris Day.
Anything else you'd like to say?
Well yes, actually. Heaven knows why, some of my kind nominators thought I was a woman. The I have a message for them... *Puts on his best BRIAN BLESSED impersonation*WHO do you call a GAL, sonny?! See that wretched BEARD on my chin? Hear that BOOMING, BOMBASTIC voice? I'm Lelal MANLY Mekha!
I hope it's satisfying. ;-) Regards. --LelalMekha (talk) 18:09, November 1, 2012 (UTC)
Noa Briqualon audio quotes
Hey, I'm currently making audio files relevant to FAs, and I wondered if you'd be interested in having audio quotes for your Noa Briqualon nomination. Just let me know if you thinks it's a good idea, and I'll upload them. Cheers. --LelalMekha (talk) 14:30, November 2, 2012 (UTC)
Good. I suppose you don't mind my incorporating them in the article directly? --LelalMekha (talk) 14:37, November 2, 2012 (UTC)
True, they all belong to the community, but I attach great importance to courtesy. ;-) --LelalMekha (talk) 14:57, November 2, 2012 (UTC)

Hey Menk. I unfortunately don't have access to the majority of my collection (including The Comics Companion) and won't until I go back for the holidays. There must be others on the site who have it, but I'm not sure who they are. Sorry about that. CC7567(talk) 19:58, November 6, 2012 (UTC)
Hey there! Xandel Carivus is listed as a "principal character" in CE2 on p. 112. It goes on to say, "Feena D'Asta, daughter of the wealthy shipping magnate Baron D'Asta, holds great power within the Council, and is one of the first to nominate minor bureaucrat Xandel Carivus to head the council after the previous ruler fell prey to an assassin. The members of the Council think the unremarkable Carivus will be their puppet, none of them suspecting that someon eelse is already pulling the strings.
"Nom Anor, mysterious representative of a great power, is maneuvering events so he can mold the Council to hsi liking. Xandel Carivus is already in Nom Anor's pocket and, as several more members of the Council fall victim to assassination, Nom Anor's hold over the organization increases. Unfortunately, the power starts going to Carivus' head, and he soon starts to believe that he no longer needs his handler.
"[...]
"Back on Ord Cantrell, Xandel Carivus delcares himself Emperor and orders that the Feena D'Asta clone be imprisoned. Baron D'Asta, furious at the mistreatment of the woman he believes to be his daughter sends his private fleet into all-out war with Carivus' Imperial forces.
"Forced to sue for peace, Carivus surrenders the Feena clone. Mirith Sinn arrives with the real Feena. The false reign of Emperor Carivus culminates in a day of reckoning with Kir Kanos, the last survivor of Palpatine's ROyal Guard."
Then on the next page (113): "Kir Kanos executes Carivus, fulfilling part of his vendetta against those who would usurp the throne of Emperor Palpatine." I don't see a mention of Nolyds.
As for Gillespee, he's listed as a "Principal character" of TLC on p. 105, but that's the only mention. ~Savage 20:23, November 6, 2012 (UTC)
Awesome stuff. Thanks so much. And good news; Nolyds is indirectly mentioned as the "previous ruler" who got assassinated. Booyah. Menkooroo (talk) 23:44, November 6, 2012 (UTC)

I object! I have proof for my page! On Star Wars.com, under the Bound for Rescue episode guide, sideshow of Trivia, is a picture of me. And on CWA Character wiki, we also have proof of Carshott's existence.
Thanks for letting me know, but the article should still be left deleted for now. While there may be a legitimate character in TCW that that article could be attached to, the article did not have very much connection to the TCW character, and it especially did not have a right the way it was to remain. It was created several times; the first, it contained a mixture of fanon, gibberish, and random computer code that I couldn't decipher the meaning out of; the second, it was just an infobox; the third, it had nothing to do with the Gamorrean clown from TCW, but was a mess of random stuff. So, all three times, it was worthy of deletion. Cheers.—Cal Jedi(Personal Comm Channel) 00:24, November 20, 2012 (UTC)

OT madness
Hello Menkooroo, whenever you have the time, could you check the A New Hope adaptations and other sources for the following characters: Yerka Mig, Cariso Smadis, Feyn Gospic? Also from Lorth Needa's source and appearance list, can you do a similar check for Nemet, M'Kae and Unidentified Imperial officer (Avenger)? I know all the relevant info for all three of those from the novel and junior novel. Thanks in advance. Hanzo Hasashi (talk) 15:47, November 26, 2012 (UTC)
Yerka Mig is seen at the counter in the cantina when Han Solo tips Wuher after shooting Greedo, Cariso Smadis is seen preparing for the opening battle on the Tantive IV, and his image is also a film shot, Feyn Gospic is seen on the Rebel base during the Yavin battle, visible at 6:24 here. Meanwhile the three other ESB characters are all seen on the Avenger. Nemet is the one who informs Needa that the Falcon no longer appears on the ship's scopes, M'Kae reports to Needa that Vader demands an update on the pursuit, and the unnamed officer is the gray-haired one standing next to Needa. As Needa is an FA, all potential sources/appearances for those guys are listed on the Needa article. Hanzo Hasashi (talk) 00:32, November 27, 2012 (UTC)
Wedge update
Ugh. :P I don't own Warfare, I don't have the money to buy it right now, the only copy owned by my local library was just checked out by someone else today and isn't due back for another three weeks, and no other library in their interlibrary loan system has it. The only other option for me would be to go to the library and request it through WorldCat, but that can take over a month for the book to come in. I'd really like to get this done before another Inqmoot comes around. In the interest of getting this done quickly, would you be able to perform the update yourself? If you could do so, I'd appreciate it. :) —MJ—Jedi Council Chambers 03:32, November 27, 2012 (UTC)
Oh, and in the paragraph where you made factual correction about the origin of the Remnant, are you sure that the sourcing in that paragraph is still accurate? I do not have either of the sources cited, so can't check it myself. It seems to me that some of the sourcing would likely need changed (presumably to Warfare). —MJ—Training Room 03:35, November 27, 2012 (UTC)
Yeah, I'd be happy to handle the update. I'll fix up the United Warlord Fleets/Imperial Remnant sourcing, too. Should all be done within the next few days. Menkooroo (talk) 03:51, November 27, 2012 (UTC)
Done. Feel free to tweak and fiddle or ask for clarification. I used two sources for the United Warlord Fleets claim, as Warfare says that a group called the "United Warlord Fleets" followed Daala at some point, and the endnotes say "Yeah, that's the forces from Darksaber." The Atlas and Warfare both establish that Pellaeon's merging of those fleets with the Imperial Rim factions is what forms the Imperial Remnant. Menkooroo (talk) 13:17, November 29, 2012 (UTC)
Looks great. I have no issues with it. Thanks! —MJ—War Room 19:28, November 29, 2012 (UTC)
CT lookover
Hey, Menk, if you get the chance, would you mind giving User:SavageBob/Sandbox3 (everything under "Proposal") a look? I'm interesting in proposing it as a CT, but I'm not sure if it should be a Layout Guide amendment or just a general policy proposal. What do you think? Thanks! ~Savage 22:06, November 27, 2012 (UTC)
The droid one looks good. As for the species one, to be honest, I don't like the idea of codifying the duck test --- it's currently widely accepted due to what we all see as good sense (bolstered by Havac's logic here), and codifying common sense often seems like instruction creep. Then again, it could nip any potential issues in the bud. As for the Asa Naga bullet point, I think I like it even less --- relating a character to a number of possible species matches seems like it would more often than not amount to a paragraph full of speculation, even if it weren't worded as 2007ish as this. As much as I hate to say it, the duck test isn't perfect, either --- sometimes I think it needs to be used on a case-by-case basis, else one could interpret Doodnik as a Jillsarian and use the codified duck test to justify it, but IMO, there's nothing connecting the two save for speculation.
I DO agree that we should reach some sort of consensus on when we should create a conjectural "So-and-so's species" article, though. Maybe open it up to an SH thread again? I remember somebody suggesting that we should only do it if there's more than one member of the species in canon. Anyway, just some food for thought. Menkooroo (talk) 23:54, November 27, 2012 (UTC)
Hey, Menk, thanks for the feedback. I do think that the Wroonian and Pantoran articles should mention all the un-species-identified blue-skins we know of, and I do think Asa Naga's article should mention that he could be any of those three or four species, so we may just have to disagree there. It becomes a question of whether that works belongs only in the character article or only in the species article, neither or both. I'd err on the side of both, and it's not really speculation, in my opinion, if we just say "These are blue-skinned near-humans. Asa Naga is a blue-skinned near-human, so he may belong to one of these." But I feel you on the Doodnik thing. In my opinion, his article and Jillsarian should mention the possible connection, but, then again, he was created before the Jillsarians were created, so I wonder if there should be a temporal component. I.e., we only duck test if the species we're duck testing to predates the introduction of the character, so we're not using the duck test to retcon. I could remove the specific mention of the "duck test" from the proposal; I just wanted to make sure examples like Yeep didn't get swept up with the broader question of characters for whom there is no obvious uniqueness but there's also no obvious connection (like Asa Naga). I disagree with the "we need to know two members of the species" proposition, since we create articles for much less notable things, like random shops and cantinas, whereas these are entire species we're talking about. What do you think? Do you think we should stick with the "Asa Naga's species" solution for all unknown species? ~Savage 02:14, November 28, 2012 (UTC)
Yeah, the "at least two members of the species" thing is imperfect, but I do like where it's coming from. I definitely agree with you about Yeep; after all, I GA'd him. ;) I think the community may produce a lot of different opinions on this, so it's probably worth SH'ing again. I had the email from Hsiao as a source (those quotes in the reference you deleted were actually taken directly from my email correspondence with him, and was planning on actually posting an image of the email), but I lost it thanks to a virus attack as well as someone wiping the system despite implying that they'd remove the virus without needing to do that (I tried to supply them with my external hard drive in the event they had to wipe the system, but they said it wasn't necessary). If and when I get all my files back, I will post the source. Weedle McHairybug (talk) 12:47, December 3, 2012 (UTC)
Operations articles - name
Hello menk, something came up. I wanted to ask you which is the correct form when naming an Operation article. Do we use the colon or not? It's because some articles have it and some don't, so I'm kind of confused especially when the colon makes them look weird. Thanks in advance. Winterz (talk) 12:33, December 4, 2012 (UTC)

Top Secret (don't open unless you have special Level 5 authorization)
Hey Menk, so I've got this idea on my mind that's literally eating my brain from the inside out. Considering that what makes Star Wars so special, in comparison to other great "Space operas", is The Force and how it attracts so many of us into this universe, I've come up with the idea for a new WookieeProject for The Force-related content. This would contain all force-sensitive characters, miscellanea content related to the Force, Force-sensitive organizations, concepts, Force-imbued objects/technology, Lightsaber combat (as it is oriented by the Force), events with heavy Force-sensitive presence and so on... Wait, don't jump out of the chair outraged just yet, I mean only to start this once I've gained more experience both in the Wookieepedia and with quality articles. Anyways as I won't keep at it until I have an outside opinon, I'll cut to the chase, how crappy is the idea? If you find this interesting, I may give you a more elaborated/complexed plan, and will present it to other Wookieepedians. If not, then I'll... just.. *fly away* :c Winterz (talk) 01:34, December 6, 2012 (UTC)
Well yea I know it's broad, though I've also considered that it's only a slightly bigger than TOR-project and that Force-related articles are even less than random cantina patrons with one single appearance. Well I thought about a Wookieeproject for Jedi and Sith but then it does rule out great organizations like Nightsisters or Baran Do, even random Darksiders or Dark Jedi would be left out. I've also thought about WP:Force-sensitives but that would only contain characters' articles and that just isn't good enough. Can you give other ideas for a more subjective WP within the topic of the Force? Anyway, I'll give you the elaborated plan in a few days. Winterz (talk) 18:10, December 6, 2012 (UTC)
Scimitar 2 CAnom
Let me know if the objections you placed have been met. Don't need to add any more, I just wanted to take care of the ones there before I moved it to GA nom. Thanks. —GethralkinHyperwave 02:06, December 6, 2012 (UTC)
Page moves
Hey, Menkooroo. Just a heads up that your recent page moving revolving the Third Battle of Orinda has left many redlinks, including in the intro of the current FA on the Main Page, now that "Second Battle of Orinda" is no longer a redirect. Toprawa and Ralltiir (talk) 18:36, December 7, 2012 (UTC)
I took care of this. Of the four remaining redlinks, one is in a talk page comment, one is on a user page, and the other two appear to refer to the battle soon to be moved to that title, not the one just moved from it. —MJ—Jedi Council Chambers 19:17, December 7, 2012 (UTC)
thanks, both of you, for the heads up and the save. I thought I would be able to complete the moving and link changing yesterday, but I wasn't able to. Ahould have everything taken care of by tomorrow. Menkooroo (talk) 13:48, December 8, 2012 (UTC)
Re: D'wopp
My bad; thanks for the heads-up. 1358(Talk) 10:20, December 9, 2012 (UTC)
Galactic Standard Calendar
Hi there Menk! Basically, there never was confirmation that the year starts on 35:3:3GrS. Quite the contrary actually. The New Essential Chronology actually establishes that the Battle of Yavin occurs within the Year 0 not the at the start of Year 0. Similar to the birth of christ occurred in year 0. Years are dictated by the solar cycle and therefore the start of year does not change, however we may restart a calendar at the start of a solar cycle within a given year. The atlas does not state that the year begins on 35:3:3 as whoever changed all these dates to begin with has assumed. Also, there are numerous tales as revealed in the Essential Reader's Companion and other recent sources that place events/books etc within Year 0 (0BBY/0ABY) that occur chronologically before the Battle of Yavin but within Year 0. Also, there were numerous calculation errors by whoever changed these dates initially. Does this help clarify things? I also attempted to clarify this on the Galactic Standard Calendar page. Rokkur Shen (talk) 09:24, December 11, 2012 (UTC)
Noted. I've reverted the change to 15 BBY with a slight modification. If that conforms with consensus, I'll change the rest. I believe that the 35:3:3 date was last printed in the essential atlas, thought I think it was around long before that. I just can't find the original source for it. Rokkur Shen (talk) 09:40, December 11, 2012 (UTC)
Re: BBY
That's correct...for that 'specific' notation. 21.5-22.5 BBY lies within year 22. The way I've got it mapped out (I've been creating a timeline for years but have yet to release it) and this may get confusing...but stay with me, 0.5 BBY is actually the last month of the year before year zero. you have to remember that the notation used in the New Essential Chronology is counting backwards from the center of year zero. therefore 21.4 BBY actually lies within the early months of year 21. 21.6 BBBY is in the latter months of 22 BBY. Does this make sense? Rokkur Shen (talk) 14:11, December 11, 2012 (UTC)
That's ok. I understand. I'll stop changing dates until the senate hall is resolved. One other way of looking at it is that (according to the Essential Atlas) the Battle of Geonosis takes place towards the end of the 5th month in year 22. Now that the date has been established, ceratin events that are 7.5 months after the Battle of Geonosis simply cannot sit in the same 12 month year. I know that these dates are likely to be made redundant by the Clone Wars TV Series and without being able to graphically demonstrate it I'm at a loss as to how to convey this to the masses... Re: D'Wopp update
Thanks for reminding. I've been busy like a beee, but I'll try and update the article today. --LelalMekha (talk) 10:14, December 14, 2012 (UTC)

D'Wopp
Hey Menk, LelalMekha addressed your final objection to the nom, but I thought it was a comment and archived the nom by mistake. Could you check the article and give feedback on his talk page? Thanks and sorry dude, JangFett(Talk) 15:26, December 21, 2012 (UTC)
That's what I was thinking too! ^^' At least the problem is solved. Since I was the one who is late with answering objections, I felt quite embarrassed when I saw the nom had been approved. --LelalMekha (talk) 15:29, December 21, 2012 (UTC)
Objections
Hey man, I'm sorry about delays to handling your objections, and I hate to say, they will continue for a little while. I'm home from college for winter break, and my Internet here is subpar, so I it gets real frustrating trying to edit. I'll get to them when I'm able, but that might be every once in a while when I go eat at McDonald's or visit a friend. :P MasterFred(Whatever) 21:16, December 22, 2012 (UTC)
Query
Hey Jeff, how has everything been for you? Been a while, dude. I have a question regarding the dating of Darth Gravid's death, was it indeed in 550 BBY, as the article itself says? My conclusions place it around 532 BBY, but I was just curious.—Jedi Kasra ("Indeed.") 01:48, December 23, 2012 (UTC)
Thanks, man. I hear ya, I have books I need to catch up with, as well. Stoked for the new Legacy series, I need to get Cade up to FA soon.—Jedi Kasra ("Indeed.") 03:09, December 23, 2012 (UTC)

Canon
Are you serious about that sh*t being canon? --XXLVenom998 (talk) 15:26, December 24, 2012 (UTC)
Yirt (slave) and Gosh
I didn't know that. I thought in the flashback that Yirt was attacked by by his followers.--99.56.52.40 15:39, December 25, 2012 (UTC)
Second, for Gost's presence aboard Fury Station. I dodn't know that Gost lived on Tython. In that page, one of the categories said Category:Tythans in that page. Someone else must've edited that, and I thought that was verified info. Thanks for telling me!--99.56.52.40 15:39, December 25, 2012 (UTC)

CAs archived
Hey Menk, not wanting to be a whiner :p, but are we not supposed to wait, at least 48h post-nomination, before granting it the CA status? Not that I'm bothered by that, but now you left me confused on wether that rule is still active or not?
On another note, I understand you're an Inq, and considering that I'm already whinig about archiving, I've had this GAnom approved by the ACs for nearly two days. I believe you understand my reasons to worry (I've got quite a few articles on standby, waiting for slots). Take a look at it if or whenever you want, just wanted to let someone else know of the situation ;) Winterz (talk) 23:51, December 26, 2012 (UTC)
Better late than never
They say it's never too late to extend your wishes and bring good tidings, so here it is: I hope you had a merry Christmas, dear Menk! At least I'm just in time for the end of year wishes! --LelalMekha (talk) 23:45, December 26, 2012 (UTC)
Re:In or around?
I actually don't have the Atlas, and when I was working on Hantic's article I think I changed it because I said it took place around that year in the article and the Atlas ref said it was exactly in 3,000 BBY, so I couldn't tell you what it says. Sorry I can't be any more help. Commander Code-8To say hi, press 42 12:09, December 30, 2012 (UTC)

For the WOTM interview, you can put the questions on my talk page and I'll get back to you ASAP (just in this section), as my e-mail has my real name in it so I'd rather not go there for privacy reason.
