Andalese

  • Nominated by: Tinwe(comlink) 11:33, October 17, 2012 (UTC)
  • Nomination comments: My first crack at writing a sentient species article (and yet another meant-to-be-CAN that got out of hand).

  1. Thanks for the guest nom! I'm surprised the Atlas Companion doesn't list an Andal system. ~SavageBOB sig 21:53, October 19, 2012 (UTC)
    • On the other hand, there's the planet Andalia in the Andalia system, but those are in the Hapes Consortium and most likely settled by Hapans... Tinwe(comlink) 06:30, October 20, 2012 (UTC)

Savaged…
  • Be sure to mention in the body somewhere (probably "Biology and appearance") that they are sentient and a species.
    • Gah, how did I not catch that myself? Added.
  • Are the other features and mannerisms that distinguish them biological or cultural? I'd be tempted to move the line about their mannerisms giving away their identity to "Society and culture," personally.
    • Tyrant's Test isn't very specific on this, so I'm not sure whether the mannerisms are biological or cultural. I left the sentence in the "Biology and appearance" section, since I feel it makes the most sense there, but I removed the word "physically" before "distinct enough."
  • Since Andalese and Yevetha are both mentioned in "History," it's probably worth noting that Han Solo's a Human.
    • Mentioned.
  • Can you add a bit more detail about why Solo suspected Enara of being Andalese? ~SavageBOB sig 12:37, October 19, 2012 (UTC)
    • Again, Tyrant's Test doesn't really say why. It kind of comes out of nowhere, so I'm afraid I can't add any explanation. Thank you for the review! Tinwe(comlink) 12:57, October 19, 2012 (UTC)
  • OK, one more thing: Does the source call them "symbiosis grafts"? Or would "symbiotic grafts" be OK? It would sound better IMO, but we have to adhere to the original source, of course! ~SavageBOB sig 13:29, October 19, 2012 (UTC)
    • Yup, they're called "symbiosis grafts" in the source text. (And before you ask: nope, there's no additional information about them either, unfortunately.) Tinwe(comlink) 13:36, October 19, 2012 (UTC)
  • Finally, I've linked symbiosis graft, since it sounds like a unique thing that probably deserves an article. Once that's taken care of (it's only a problem because it's in the lead), I'm happy to support. ~SavageBOB sig 17:13, October 19, 2012 (UTC)
    • I actually thought about creating the article myself before I nominated this, but decided against it at the time on the grounds that there would be next to no info to put in it (we don't really even know what these things are!) and what was known could be covered in the Andalese article. There still isn't much real content in the graft article, but who knows—we might learn more someday… Tinwe(comlink) 17:28, October 19, 2012 (UTC)
      • Yeah, there's no hard and fast rule on when something needs its own article. In this case, as you suggest, we may learn more about these grafts in the future. They may also be used by more than just Andalese. Either way, nice work! ~SavageBOB sig 21:53, October 19, 2012 (UTC)
Rank
  • Great work. Just one: Check Han Solo's rank in the book; I believe he's a Commodore, not a General. Menkooroo (talk) 00:42, November 26, 2012 (UTC)
    • The Dramatis Personae lists him as "General Han Solo." If I've understood correctly, Han never ceased to be a General when he was given the title of Commodore—in this case, it was not so much a military rank as a title denoting that he was in command of the Fifth Fleet. Tinwe(comlink) 17:25, November 27, 2012 (UTC)
Toprawa
  • Sorry for the post-approved objection. I wanted to recommend that the Appearances section ditch the "possible appearance" template. I understand why you're including it there, but the template has become almost like a taboo thing recently, and there have been discussions to delete it altogether. I believe the explanation of Han Solo's speculation about Enara in the article is sufficient enough to not require this template. Toprawa and Ralltiir (talk) 18:44, December 12, 2012 (UTC)
    • Fair enough; ditched. Tinwe(comlink) 08:54, December 13, 2012 (UTC)
      • Thank you. Good work on the article. Toprawa and Ralltiir (talk) 08:57, December 13, 2012 (UTC)
