Palso Thern was a Human pilot in the Alliance to Restore the Republic during the Galactic Civil War. Thern was assigned to Blue Squadron under the call sign Blue Seven. In 4 ABY, Thern attended a briefing held on the Alliance's flagship, the Star Cruiser Home One, during which Supreme Commander Mon Mothma discussed the plan to attack the Galactic Empire's second Death Star battle station over Endor. Thern then piloted a starfighter as part of the contingent that attacked the Imperial battlestation.

Biography

Palso Thern, a Human, was a starfighter pilot in the Alliance to Restore the Republic during the Galactic Civil War.[1] Thern served in Blue Squadron under the call sign Blue Seven.[2] Shortly before the Battle of Endor[1] in the year 4 ABY,[3] Thern was present during the briefing on the Rebel flagship, the MC80 Home One type Star Cruiser Home One, where the Alliance's Supreme Commander Mon Mothma announced that the Rebel fleet would attack the Galactic Empire's second Death Star battle station.[1] During the battle that followed, Thern was among the Rebel pilots who engaged the Imperial fleet[2] over the moon Endor. The squadron was led by[4] Merrick Simms,[5] who was killed during the conflict. Following Simms' death, Blue Squadron joined Gold Leader Lando Calrissian on the latter's attack run on the Death Star, but later broke off from the attack in order to distract the pursuing TIE fighters. The battle ended with a victory for the Rebel Alliance, and the destruction of the second Death Star.[4]

Personality and traits

Palso Thern had blond hair,[1] blue eyes,[2] and light skin. Thern was among the elite pilots who had bravery, skill, and loyalty to the Rebel Alliance. Thern and the other pilots had a chief goal of victory during the Battle of Endor. Knowing they were deciding the future of the galaxy, Thern and the other pilots did everything to complete their mission.[2]

Equipment

Thern wore a red flight suit[1] and a helmet, and wielded a blaster pistol.[2]

Palso Thern was created for the original trilogy film Star Wars: Episode VI Return of the Jedi, in which the character was portrayed by an uncredited extra.[1] Thern first appeared in the film's storybook written by Joan D. Vinge[6] and released on May 12, 1983,[7] before the film's release on May 25, 1983.[8] Thern was eventually identified and given an action figure in the "Battle Over Endor" set of 2010's Star Wars: Shadows of the Dark Side.[2]
