Barn-burner: Halfway home
Hey there, Jinzler.
Have some Wookiee-ookiees.
I want to thank you for your efforts so far during Wookieepedia's first barn-burner. This is a not-so-personal message that's being sent out to every participant, but rest assured that everybody affiliated with this project deserves the highest praise. I've been very pleased with the number of users who have been writing, nominating, and reviewing Wookiees and Wookiee-related articles this month. Awesome job, all of you.
We're a little past the halfway mark, and at this point, I'd like to encourage everybody to focus their efforts on reviewing. Many users have been reviewing a lot already, and yes, you're absolutely welcome and encouraged to continue writing and nominating articles at this point. I just want to encourage everyone to take some time and help out others, which was one of the original purposes of this project. Additionally, the more reviewing that we all participate in, the more articles we can see promoted before the end of the month. Anything promoted after the end of May will still count as being part of the barn-burner, but it would be cool to get as much through as we can before then.
We have a list of current nominations for handy reference. If you feel inclined, find some that tickle your fancy and go nuts. Thanks again for all of your hard work. Cheers. Menkooroo 07:02, May 17, 2011 (UTC)
Ynian
Are the Ynians real? I've read The New Rebellion, and no mention of a species named "Ynian" is made, at least not to my recollection. In addition, no other source backs this up either. In any case, I've removed the mention. I'll gladly put it back up if needed. MillieMuddFan67 15:26, May 17, 2011 (UTC)
Thank you! I'll delete the mention from the novel's page as well! MillieMuddFan67 15:42, May 17, 2011 (UTC)

You added it to the sources, but I'm having trouble finding Zsinj in the Hero's Guide. Can you tell me what page he's on or what section he's in? I just want to make sure there's nothing significant there that should be added. Thanks. -- Darth Culator (Talk) 18:34, June 7, 2011 (UTC)

Thon page got messed up somehow from your citation
Hi, the Thon is a huge mess, somehow the addition of " *The Official Star Wars Fact File 140 HUT15, The Hutts " on line 209 fucked the whole page up somehow, I'd fix it myself, but I don't have an account. Thanks! 76.88.161.49 06:18, June 26, 2011 (UTC)
Quinlan Vos
Hey Jinzler. I'm currently trying to promote Quinlan Vos to FA status, and I was wondering if you could help me out a little with all of those troublesome Sources. Currently, I believe I've found most of the mentions and references to him, but since I know you're one of the experts in this area, are there any sources that you might know off the top of your head that I haven't already found? Thanks in advance—I appreciate any help, even if it's to say that there aren't any. :) I just want to make sure that I don't overlook anything in the next few months. Game Guides
Hello, Kilson told me that you had some game guides, so I would like to ask you if you have any of the following guides:
- Star Wars Galaxies: The Total Experience: Prima Official Game Guide
- Star Wars Galaxies: An Empire Divided Quick Reference Guide
- Star Wars Galaxies: An Empire Divided: Prima's Official Strategy Guide
- Star Wars Galaxies: Jump to Lightspeed: Prima Official Game Guide
- Star Wars Galaxies: The Complete Guide: Prima Official Game Guide
If you have any of these guides could you please check to see if any of them mention the Janta knife and tell me what the information is if there is any? Thank you for your time.--Exiled Jedi (Greetings) 16:53, August 12, 2011 (UTC)

Manner of death
Since you included in the article when Gilder Varth died, you may can help with which, who of what killed him. --Station7 12:58, October 8, 2011 (UTC)
- In the RPG adventure Jaws of the Sarlacc, Varth commands the Super Star Destroyer prototype during the Battle of Byss. During the battle, a group of Alderaanian Resistance starfighters fly inside the SSD superstructure and attempt to fire on its main reactor, to destroy the ship and Varth with it. Whether or not they succeed depends upon the actions of the players of the RPG adeventure, but the adventure conclusion assumes that the ship was destroyed and that Varth was killed, thus making his death canon. However, the adventure does outline a possibility for what can happen if the players are not successful in their task, stating that Varth then leaves in the SSD and the players have to hunt him down accross the galaxy. --Jinzler 13:07, October 8, 2011 (UTC)
- So what killed actually? The explosion? I just want to be sure. --Station7 13:12, October 8, 2011 (UTC)
- Yes, the adventure states that Varth dies in the explosion. --Jinzler 13:14, October 8, 2011 (UTC)
Riptide
Hey Jinzler,
I've noticed that you're adding Riptide to many articles, even though the novel (as far as I know) isn't out yet. Can you point me in the direction of your source please? Thanks,—Tommy 9281 Saturday, October 8, 2011, 19:22 UTC
- I have a copy of the book. I pre-ordered it on Amazon and it arrived yesterday. Am I doing anything wrong by adding the information before the official release date? --Jinzler 19:25, October 8, 2011 (UTC)
Relin
Hey Jinzler, I haven't had the chance to grab Riptide yet, and I saw you added it to the appearances section of Relin Druur with the {{Mo}} tag; is there any new information in the mention regarding Druur that I need to add to his article? Thanks, Jonjedigrandmaster (Talk) 00:11, October 9, 2011 (UTC)
- There's not really much. In chapter two, directly after the events of Crosscurrent, Khedryn, Marr and Jaden drink some caf aboard the Junker while contemplating Relin's death. It probably won't require an update, but I guess you can decide whenever you get to read Riptide yourself. --Jinzler 10:45, October 9, 2011 (UTC)

Hey Jinzler. Thanks for adding the Falcon guide to Page's Sources section. I'm guessing it was a picture from the Home One briefing in Return of the Jedi --- do you happen to know if Yutani, Palso Thern, or Keyan Farlander (see here and here) are in the picure too? I'm just asking for completeness's sake since they're all status articles too. Let me know! Cheers, and thanks again. Menkooroo 11:56, November 1, 2011 (UTC)
- You could probably use images of the briefing to tell whose legs are who --- File:B-Wing Pilots.jpg should be a good indicator. If not, don't feel like you need to watch the entire movie!! You can find the briefing scene on youtube. Thanks for the diligence! :) Menkooroo 09:00, November 2, 2011 (UTC)

Lanvarok
Hey Jinzler,
Thanks for the info. Is there anything notable mentioned, more than a passing statement? Thanks,—Tommy 9281 Thursday, December 15, 2011, 21:42 UTC
- All it reveals is that Ra-Zyrth wielded a lanvarok. As he was just a normal Massassi who served under Sadow during the Great Hyperspace, it probabley isn't that notable a mention. I guess it is up to you whether you include the information in the article. --Jinzler 21:47, December 15, 2011 (UTC)

Reconquest of Ord Radama
Does it? I know that the titling of the subsection for it on the Great Galactic War article is down to creative flare (because I'm the one that wrote it), but I don't recall it being specifically named that in the Book of Sith. Admittedly though, I haven't picked it up in a few weeks. – DigiFluid 20:33, March 2, 2012 (UTC)

However, I am unfortunately going to have to decline your request for now, as I review CANs fairly infrequently and while I appreciate that there are no activity requirements for EC members, I would not feel deserving of the accolade. FAN page reviewing
Hey, Jinzler,
I'm writing this to you on behalf of the entire Inquisitorius. At our recent meeting, we discussed the current lack of non-INQs who are actively involved in reviewing on the FAN page, and we decided that the best solution was to simply appeal to people to review more. This first paragraph is being sent verbatim to a whole bunch of people, but the following one is being written specifically for you.
You're a great writer, and I know that you do review others' FAnoms every now and then, but I'd love to see you do it more often, especially given that you always have one or two noms on the FAN page. You know the old "You should review if you're going to write" adage, so I won't bore you with it. I'll just ask you personally to review more frequently on the FAN page. We're trying to breathe new life into a somewhat-stagnant FAN page, and we'd love to have you join in the revolution. Cheers, and have a great day! Menkooroo (talk) 07:51, February 11, 2013 (UTC)

Re: TCW dating
To be honest, mostly everything regarding dating of the Clone Wars (and The Clone Wars) is bordering on assumption, since Lucasfilm still hasn't released a new timeline and won't at least until after the TV series finishes. Everything regarding dating is detailed here, for the most part. The main indicator is if the new character models (which first appeared in "Heroes on Both Sides") for Anakin, Ahsoka, and Obi-Wan are in use. I've mostly been conjecturalizing events from around that time to c. 21 BBY, which pertains to mostly events from Season Four and the second half of Season Three. Therefore, the first and second seasons are in c. 22 BBY per The Essential Reader's Companion and everything from Season Five and after in c. 20 BBY, from Star Wars: Darth Maul—Death Sentence 1. I think it would be safe to assume that The Only Good Clanker takes place in c. 21 BBY (before the Battle of Sullust, obviously), but yeah, it's a tricky situation. That's the best I can give you with what I know is out there—if there's anything else I can help you with, just let me know. CC7567 (talk) 20:35, March 6, 2013 (UTC)

However, I have joined WookieeProjects in the past and then not contributed much to them, so I will only sign up if I actually think that I will be able to motivate myself to do something productive. Thanks. --Jinzler (talk) 22:02, March 14, 2013 (UTC)

Hey, Jinzler. Well, since the nomination is still active, that new piece of information is most welcome for the BtS, indeed. Thanks for letting me know! :) Since you currently have access to that book, right at your fingertips, can you tell me just how interesting all those in-universe messages are? Is there something interesting something interesting to be dug up? --LelalMekha (talk) 10:35, April 1, 2013 (UTC)

Hello Jinzler, saw you posted the update tag on Chief gunnery officer. Would you by chance have the relevant info from that book? Seems you know the exact page number. If so, could you give me the info so I can update accordingly? Thanks. Hanzo Hasashi (talk) 15:25, April 7, 2013 (UTC)

Arcanum
Hey, Jinzler. Here's what I've got for the Darkstaff stuff in the Arcanum so far; I've only played through the Arcanum as of now, but I'll finish up the quests soon and find out what happens to the staff.
- The Darkstaff was created by a Sith who lived before or during the reconstituted Sith Empire; by 3640 BBY, the staff was deemed too dangerous but too powerful to destroy, so it was stored in the Arcanum—a space station commissioned by the Sith Emperor as a vast storehouse for similarly dangerous and powerful artifacts. However, the Darkstaff was liberated from the Arcanum in 3640 BBY when the Sith Lord Tagriss raided the Arcanum on the behalf of his masters, the powerful Sith known as the Dread Masters. Penetrating the Arcanum's Specimen Storage Complex—for the Darkstaff's sentience had warranted its storage with other hostile creatures and artifacts—Tagriss found the Darkstaff and removed it from its reliquary. Tagriss was pursued by operatives of either the Empire or the Republic, causing him to ascend to the facility's upper levels and use the Darkstaff to free the Dashade Shadow Killer Akriss Veng in order to stall his pursuers. Tagriss then fled the Arcanum, Darkstaff in hand.

Wedge Antilles
Hello. I noticed that you added a couple of sources to Wedge, namely The Essential Guide to Weapons and Technology and
"ComicScan: 20 Tales to Tantalize" — Star Wars Galaxy Collector 5. Since I do not have easy access to either of those sources for myself, could you tell me whether or not there is any information in either of those sources that is not already in the article? Thanks in advance. —MJ— War Room 03:16, May 9, 2013 (UTC)
- Hi Master Jonathan, I can confirm that no new information regarding Wedge is added by either of those sources. --Jinzler (talk) 08:32, May 12, 2013 (UTC)
- OK, thanks. In the future when adding sources, it would be helpful if you could note "no new info" or something to that effect in the edit summary if that is indeed the case. It would save me and others the hassle of having to ask, and you the hassle of having to answer. :) —MJ— Jedi Council Chambers 21:50, May 12, 2013 (UTC)

Melida/Daan
Hey. I saw that you added an article from Insider 62 to Mission to Melida/Daan. If the mission was mentioned, then there's a decent chance other related articles were as well, and I have taken many of those related articles to status. Could you check whether any of the following are mentioned, and if so, whether there's any new info: Unidentified battle (Leidra's death), Battle of Nield's village, Nield's village, Battle of Zehava (Nield's cousin's death), Young–Elders War, Attack on the Elders' spaceport, Melida/Daan Unified Congress Building, or Young advisory council (a mention of the Young's government, or the government Obi-Wan was a part of, counts here). Young–Elders War and Young advisory council are the two most likely; the rest are very unlikely to be mentioned, but I felt it best to check and be sure. I realize this is a lot of articles, so there's no rush. Thanks in advance. —MJ— Comlink 02:44, May 26, 2013 (UTC)
- Hi MJ, it's only a brief mention, but I think it could also be construed as a mention of the Young–Elders War (to which it adds no new information). The other articles listed above are not referenced in the article. I hope this helps. --Jinzler (talk) 07:24, May 26, 2013 (UTC)

Hey, Jinzler! It seems Troig needs a small update from Shadows of a Black Sun, but I'm finding it difficult to get a hold of that adventure. If the update really is small, would you mind letting me know what needs adding? Alternatively, if you know of an online release of the adventure I could access, that might work too. Hi, I was wondering if you had access to any of the Star Wars: The Clone Wars Comic UK because I'm looking for sources for the Confederate–Republic peace conference article since I wanted to eventually nominate it as a good article. Shakespeare's Star Wars
Please add the (Non-canonical appearance) tag to any articles for which you add William Shakespeare's Star Wars as an appearance, as that is a non-canon appearance. Hanzo Hasashi (talk) 14:09, August 31, 2013 (UTC)
- Are you sure that we can assume that it's non-canon? It was not released under the Infinities label and appears to be just a Shakespearean-stylized retelling of the events of a A New Hope. The story depicted is canon, it is just presented in Shakespearean-style English. --Jinzler (talk) 14:13, August 31, 2013 (UTC)
- Well I was just basing the non-canon assumption by reading the article and seeing that. But in any case, the fact that it does intentionally contradict with the canon alone would alone make it non-canon. Is it even officially licensed? Hanzo Hasashi (talk) 16:48, August 31, 2013 (UTC)
- Nevermind it is apparently officially licensed. But that doesn't make it canon when its entire dialogue is 100% different from the actual canon film. Hanzo Hasashi (talk) 16:51, August 31, 2013 (UTC)
- That's kind of my point. The events of the book are canon, but the dialogue is in Shakespearean Early Modern English, so the dialogue differences from the film are just differences of translation, rather than actual canon differences. This is admittedly just my interpretation of the book, but I can see where you are coming from. --Jinzler (talk) 16:57, August 31, 2013 (UTC)
- From the excerpts I've seen, it does give additional dialogue like the stormtroopers talking about their perceived reward when capturing Leia, and an expansion of Bolvan's foolhardy reasoning for not shooting down that escape pod. Hanzo Hasashi (talk) 17:05, August 31, 2013 (UTC)
- Hello Jinzler, does Shakespeare's Star Wars also have Davin Felth, the "Look sir, droids" stormtrooper? My guess is, if he is there, he is perhaps called "Trooper 4" (and Mod Terrik "Trooper 3"), though I have seen an excerpt in which "Trooper 3" and "Trooper 4" are in the "not the droids we're looking for" scene, and Felth and Terrik are definitely not in that latter scene, as When The Desert Wind Turns: The Stormtrooper's Tale establishes Alvien Squadron as setting up the checkpoints, not Zeta. If "Trooper 3" and "Trooper 4" are in both of those scenes, then I'd consider them to thus be separate characters. Also, what does the book mention about the chasm swing scene? I want to see if TK-119, TK-875 and this guy should also be considered appearing. Thanks. Hanzo Hasashi (talk) 22:36, November 7, 2013 (UTC)

Excision in Bounty Hunter Code
Hey Jinzler. I know this is probably asking a lot, but do you think you would be able to update the Mandalorian Excision article with the new info from The Bounty Hunter Code: From the Files of Boba Fett? I've ordered the book but I won't have access to it for about another month and a half for various reasons. No rush, but if you get the chance sometime I'd really appreciate it. Thanks. Desert Cries
Hi Jinzler, I'm an anon and I would like to ask you a question. Its about Desert Cries and when I looked at the timeline, it said 31 BBY. However, I looked at a couple of pages, including Tantron Dow, Alkin Saad, Chrethbac, Misha Quor-Din, Synred Vols that were part of Desert Cries and the timeline was 32 BBY. I'm a little puzzled and I was hoping if would know whether its 32 or 31 BBY.--63.92.231.217 19:16, January 16, 2014 (UTC)
- Hi there, its great to see someone taking an interest in the Living Force campaign! I can confirm that the correct date for that particular module is, to the best of our knowledge, 31 BBY. I also have to own up and take some responsibility for the discrepancy between articles that you have identified. Essentially, at the time when I first created most of the Desert Cries character articles back in 2009, the opening arc of the Living Force campaign was generally dated to c. 32 BBY across Wookieepedia and I continued with the use of that date. However, I subsequently noted that the Living Force Campaign Guide states that the campaign commenced one year after the Invasion of Naboo, i.e. in 31 BBY, thus making a date of c. 31 BBY more appropriate. Given that no other evidence has came to light to support the 32 BBY date, I have gradually been revising the dating within affected articles from c. 32 BBY to c. 31 BBY. However, as you have noted, a lot of progress is still required to clear up this inconsistency across Wookieepedia, so any assistance that you can provide with this effort is appreciated. This is an example of how the circa 31 BBY date can be properly referenced on the relevant pages. Thanks! --Jinzler (talk) 22:58, January 16, 2014 (UTC)
