A prospector was a mining occupation held by some individuals in the galaxy. During the High Republic Era, the term "prospector" adopted a second meaning in the form[3] of hyperspace prospectors, or hyperspace surveyors, who searched for and charted new hyperspace routes.[1] Also known as hyperlane scouts,[4] Radicaz Dobbs was one of the many prospectors during to the era.[5] Prospectors also worked on Tatooine. At one point, a number of prospectors believed that the mineral bene was found at Plibene Rock.[6]

Hyperspace prospector Mari San Tekka

During the High Republic Era, a time of great exploration, prospectors roamed the Galactic Frontier.[8] The prospector Saretha von Beel operated out of Black Spire Outpost on Batuu[2] around 382 BBY.[9] The Grafs and the San Tekkas were two families of hyperspace prospectors. Mari San Tekka's ability to locate the Paths, unconventional routes through hyperspace, was used by her family and later the Nihil.[1]

When the Besalisk prospector Dexter Jettster spent time prospecting on Subterrel at some point prior to the Clone Wars, he came across Kaminoan saberdarts.[10]
