Bene was a rare mineral. Early prospectors on the desert planet Tatooine believed there to be bene deposits in Plibene Rock.[1]

Behind the scenes

In the current Star Wars canon, bene was mentioned in the 2016 reference book Star Wars: Complete Locations. The caption mentioning bene was reprinted[1] from the mineral's first mention in the Star Wars Legends continuity, where it was created for the 2000 reference book Inside the Worlds of Star Wars: Episode I, which was written by Kristin Lund.[2]
