Plot summary
In the HoloNet News relay substation on Ord Mantell, two members discuss what content they should post for the day, and suggest the topics of Chancellor Valorum facing a crisis, the Nautolan and Anselmi on the verge of war, and a Mandalorian person of interest. The one human then expresses that it feels like the Republic is sitting on a knife’s edge and war is about to break out, which would be bad for the Republic but good for ratings. Just then, a guard is blasted down and Aurra Sing, Nakano Lash, and Jango Fett enter the room with the latter saying that he’s got “breaking and entering” news. The human tries to threaten them by explaining that he started his career as a war correspondent during the Greater Seswenna Raids, but his Ithorian partner tries to point out that Jango is the Mandalorian person of interest. Jango forces him into showing them the recordings from the heist, and after watching them, Nakano determines that Ambassador Fiarok is the one who set up her and her friends and replaced the real relic with a fake. Aurra doesn’t think that this will be enough evidence, but Jango believes that it will be after finding a camera droid.
As they leave and head outside, Nakano thinks that her time is up, but Jango explains that she isn’t the thief and she is free to leave. However, she breaks down into tears as she has nowhere to go since her parents were killed by the Anselmi, and her crew died for a lie only for a corrupt politician to get richer. They only wanted to help people but failed, and so Jango tells her the harsh truth which is that very few out there try to make a difference, so don’t stop trying and just try harder. As Jango and Aurra depart from Ord Mantell on the Slave 1, Nakano takes note of the possible future of bounty hunting.
In hyperspace, Aurra mentions how good Jango is with kids and asks if he’d ever consider one, or at least passing on a legacy. Jango is hesitant to answer but considers the possibility, that is if they survive what’s next on Jaloria. After landing, the two are greeted by a whole team of bounty hunters led by Vigor Struk and the two parties engage in combat. While Aurra becomes overwhelmed by the amount of blaster fire whilst using a body as a shield, Jango is attacked and tossed around helplessly by a large mech. When Aurra is attacked by the Trandoshan Cradossk, she and Jango agree to trade “dance partners” so she hurls an ion grenade towards Jango while he speeds away with his jetpack. The mech is disabled and Jango grabs Cradossk in the air, taking him and his knife out of the equation which Aurra uses to stab her next attacker dead.
When the two stand together and watch the next group of approaching hunters, Fett stops them in their tracks by killing them with his missile from his jetpack. However, Vigor Struk is revealed to be partially cybernetic, and he viciously attacks the two with his electrostaff. When he claims to be stronger and faster, Aurra activates a smoke grenade and Jango removes and throws his jetpack straight into the blinded Struk. He then secures it to his body with his grapple and sends him off into the air by remotely activating his jetpack. With all of their enemies removed from their path ahead, the two bounty hunters gather the camera droid and enter the Regional Republic Headquarters.
Jango is greeted at blasterpoint by a squad of Republic Royal Guards, and discovers that Aurra has suddenly disappeared. He is let through to see Governor Tok and presents the video from the camera droid, which shows Nakano Lash explaining her whole situation with the theft of the Hope of the Glee Anselm. She and her friends were patriots of the Nautolan people, but were double crossed and her friends murdered in order to cover up the real mastermind. At the time they didn’t know it, but they were recruited by one of their own - Ambassador Fiarok, and she explains that there’s further info placed inside the droid. With Fiarok being guilty, he is placed under arrest by the Royal Guards and taken into custody, but he tries to plead his case by saying that he was tricked and there’s a secret benefactor who approached him through a third party - a Mirialan. After the events, the camera droid - ARX-56, announces the news to the public where a high ranking Nautolan was arrested for the theft of the Hope of Glee Anselm. A raid on his guest quarters turned up the real statue, but it’s missing its priceless gems, and the uneasy peace on Glee Anselm has been shattered resulting in war breaking out which has caused another major blow to Chancellor Valorum’s administration.
Later, Jango is paid by Governor Tok who says how it’s a shame the thief wasn’t apprehended in time, but Jango knows that it was doomed from the start, and is thankful for her immediate trust in the circumstantial evidence he provided. He walks off after subtly hinting that he knows Tok’s true identity, and so she contacts the benefactor - Count Dooku. He praises her for her work as this war on Glee Anselm will further destabilize the Republic Government, and lay the foundation for the battle to come. He senses that she’s troubled, and she reveals that the bounty hunter knows which causes Dooku to demand for everything on Jango Fett since he’s competent and discrete, and could be useful to them.

All I've seen it narrowed down to is 'Between 40 BBY and 32 BBY' since its Valorum's time in office, did you have anything more specific in mind?")
