"The Valorum dynasty enjoys an influential presence there, and a political victory by me can hardly be assured."
Wilhuff Tarkin, to Sheev Palpatine[1]

House Valorum, also known as the Valorum dynasty, was a prestigious human family[1]native to the Core World Coruscant,[3] capital of the Galactic Republic[2]—of the galaxy, which notably had much influence on the planet of Eriadu and owned a shipping company.[1] Tarsus Valorum was a member of the family.[6]

Following the fall of the Old Republic,[7] about a millennium before the Clone Wars,[8] Tarsus[6] became the first Supreme Chancellor of the modern Galactic Republic around the year 1032 BBY.[4] Finis Valorum, a direct descendant of Tarsus Valorum,[6] served as the penultimate Chancellor.[1] His second term was truncated as a result of the Invasion of Naboo, and Sheev Palpatine was elected as Finis' successor[2] in 32 BBY.[5]

The Star Wars Book places the restoration of the Republic 1,032 years before the events of Star Wars: Episode IV A New Hope, which corresponds 1032 BBY per Star Wars: Timelines. Therefore, Valorum's chancellery must have begun during or after 1032 BBY.
