"We know your army is about to attack."
"And we know about your experiments."
"I will say this only once. Throw down your weapons and surrender."
―Sav Malagán and Reath Silas, immediately before the attack began[1]

In 228 BBY,[2] a battle on Banchii occurred when the Nihil, led by Minister of Advancement Baron Boolan attacked the planet Banchii. Boolan initially traveled there in hopes of recruiting the various Jedi there, including Jedi Knights Lily Tora-Asi and Reath Silas, fallen Jedi Azlin Rell, and Jedi Masters Savina Besatrix Malagán and Arkoff for his experiments, with the promise that he would not harm the people of Banchii if they complied. When the Jedi in charge, Tora-Asi, refused, Boolan sent his horde of Nihil pirates to attack the planet and the Jedi. As Tora-Asi fought the Nihil, the plants of the planet began to attack them too, as members of the Drengir species had triggered the plant life to protect Tora-Asi in their stead after the Jedi helped them flee Banchii.[1]

As the Baron started to flee, not believing he could win the battle, he released Nameless creatures, which preyed on Force-sensitives such as the Jedi and inhibited them with only their presence. However, the Jedi were assisted by a large group of non-Force-sensitive Banchii natives as well as a group of Banchiians led by Shosho, a Nihil defector named Maktan Plynt, and Malagán's friend Dexter Jettster, who defeated the Nameless. Meanwhile, Boolan made one final plea to Rell to join him and study the Nameless, but Rell refused and chose to protect Jedi Initiates Viv'Nia Nia'Viv and Nima Allets instead. With the Nameless defeated, the Jedi drove the Nihil away, winning the battle and successfully protecting the planet.[1]
