The deed is done. Since you have a current FA nomination, you should already know that CAN and even GAN process is relatively quick. :P Good luck on getting the info from Hidalgo. Meanwhile, (to keep you occupied while you wait for the queue) may I suggest some points to address in the article?
- I'd add a short bit about the Smuggler smuggling the smuggled kyber crystals to the intro. Probably just a second sentence.
- in the Description section quote, is "the Smugglers" supposed to be plural?
- I also feel like the bit about the crystals being illegal in the Empire belongs in the History section. Imperators II(Talk) 15:42, July 26, 2016 (UTC)

Sexes
Hi AV-6R7.
Thanks for the warm greeting.
I noticed that my post to the talk page on "Sexes" was deleted. I am pondering why, as it was deleted instead of adding to the discussion and actually discussing the issue. (Maybe you had a bias against Frederick Pol.)
Respectfully, I think my post was not based on our perception of sexes, but rather implied improvements to the article. Admittedly, I might not have been explicit in how to improve it, but I think the message of making the definition more broad, to be a definition broad enough for life on earth, let alone xenobiology in a science fiction framework.
If I were to make a specific suggestion about describing sexes, (which I think relates to my post) it would be something like the following. Maybe this is what I should have posted.
In xenobiology, sexual reproduction is first defined at the cellular level. If we assume the progression of life on other planets paralleled the history of life on earth, Asexual reproduction preceded sexual reproduction. At some point, a type of cells developed the behavior of injecting themselves into other cells, where the genetic material of the injecting (male) cells would be passed down in reproduction of the complete (female) cells along with the genetic material of the female cells.
This definition is critical in identifying male and female parts of plants.
The evolution of male cells took advantage of the lower energy needed for a less comprehensive genetic code, omitting instructions for full reproduction. Both types of cells, including female cells, benefited from the genetic diversity gained from sexual reproduction.
As multicellular organisms develop, organisms develop into organisms (or parts of organisms as with plants) which can create male or female reproductive cells.
Throughout the galaxy, as life originated on various planets, each had a history with this pattern, or variations on that pattern. Various planets had variation on which sex laid eggs, gestated embryos, and nurtured their young.
The purpose of a description such as the above is that authors would be able to add to the extended universe more freely than with the narrow restrictive definition which is basically, "Traditionally, members of the male sex acted as a father figure, who provided, cared for, and defended their partner from other males or predators."
Marlin Pierce (talk) 15:41, August 8, 2016 (UTC)Marlin Pierce
- While your definition may be more scientifically accurate, it would fall under "Conjecture and assumptions based on real-world standards," which is not allowed under our canon policy, making it unsuitable for use on Wookieepedia. - AV-6R7Crew Pit 15:47, August 8, 2016 (UTC)
- Thanks.
I can accept "Conjecture and assumptions based on real-world standards," as the problem with my post to the discussion page. It is a much more relevant reason than "not how the subject should be interpreted based on our perception of it" which sounds like I was arguing based on feminism or egalitarianism. I do admit that the purpose of the web site is based on references to Star Wars examples and canon, so I can agree.
I would still maintain that there is a problem with the sentence, "Traditionally, members of the male sex acted as a father figure, who provided, cared for, and defended their partner from other males or predators." *This* sentence is based on out perception of sex.
Maybe it would be better to omit it and have no explicit definition. Having this as the definition seems to use a definition based on what we know about what it is to be male or female. Simply not actually defining the concept of male and female is fine, since we already know as much as the definition states.
My point is that people using WookiePedia to extend the Star Wars universe or write fan fiction, would find this needlessly restrictive, when this is overly specific for a biological approach given what we already know about our own biology.

- If you believe this to be an issue, you could bring it up in the Senate Hall to better gauge community consensus. I personally have no opinion on the issue.

Edit summary
Recommendation for you to please use the edit summary when you're making widespread page moves. In this case, I have no idea why you're moving the stew article to a new title. Simply putting a reason in the original page move would prevent any confusion. Toprawa and Ralltiir (talk) 01:41, August 24, 2016 (UTC)
- The policy currently makes no stipulation at all for food, so any such ruling you might have imagined to support this move does not exist. The policy does stipulate that "original namesakes" (dagger being the example on the policy page) take precedence over everything else. One could potentially argue that the food type of stew should take precedence over a minor character, which I would probably be inclined to agree with assuming the character is indeed minor. Toprawa and Ralltiir (talk) 01:49, August 24, 2016 (UTC)
- The policy specifically states that major subjects trump original namesakes (examples like major film topics). Stew the clone trooper doesn't appear to meet this criteria, especially considering that we're just now creating an article for him from a show that ceased production three years ago. I would recommend putting him at "Stew (clone gunner)." Toprawa and Ralltiir (talk) 02:03, August 24, 2016 (UTC)
- I can. Thanks for hearing me out. Feel free to pop on IRC for future discussion items. Toprawa and Ralltiir (talk) 02:06, August 24, 2016 (UTC)
- As a side matter, I would recommend also creating the Canon stew article to fill in that page. Ultimately, we will need to amend the naming policy to reflect continuity-specific as well as cross-continuity naming collisions. Toprawa and Ralltiir (talk) 02:08, August 24, 2016 (UTC)
- Is the Legends version ever referred to as Stew? I'm considering whether the Legends is Fury while the Canon version is Stew. It would depend on when Leland Chee made his comment. Toprawa and Ralltiir (talk) 02:12, August 24, 2016 (UTC)

Discussion Forum series on how to be an Wookiepedia Editor
I've been thinking about this for months now. It's been on the back-burner as summer has been very busy for me. But now that summer is near it's end, and also the fact that 'categories' are just around the corner, this topic has been dominating my thoughts lately.
I would like to start a series in the forums. Something along the lines of a how-to thing, instructing our members in how to get more involved with contributing and editing the wiki itself.
Yes, there's tons of info out there, but it's fairly scattered and not easy to find for newcomers. I was thinking of coming up with a series where we can present everything in a very clear, concise and easy to digest format for the discussion forum masses.
We could even make 'homework'-like assignments where people get to practice what they learn without the fear of messing up the wiki or getting into trouble for doing something wrong.
What do you think about this?--ChristopherLeeGallant (talk) 01:55, August 24, 2016 (UTC)

I need help
As per Brandon's suggestion, it's about time that I create a 'user page'. Is there a template that I can copy and past as a starting point? I'm still fairly lost here. Not sure where to start.
As you know, the majority of my Wookiepedia time is spent moderating and creating discussions. If I wasn't spending that much time on the forums, I'm sure I'd have no problems surfing through the countless articles on how to do this on my own. In order to save time and not take away from my responsibilities, any help in pointing me in the right direction would be greatful.
I'm familiar with code in general, but I also could use a cheat sheet of all the code that's used here. I'm sure there are a few pages on this and pointing me in the right direction would be wonderful. --ChristopherLeeGallant (talk) 18:45, September 2, 2016 (UTC)

Hi AV! I see you've made your first talk page archive. Abednedo (species)
Hello AV-6R7, I could not help but notice that you got rid of the "Sentient species" category from the Abednedo page. I do not mean to go against your judgement, as you clearly are more hands on with this wiki than I am and know its rules and regulations better than I do. But I do not understand why you got rid of the category, especially when every other named species from The Force Awakens, as well as every single named alien race from every single piece of Star Wars media, is located in the Sentient species category. I believe it is supposed to go there and it is not redundant if every other named race is in that category. --Humanoid21 (talk) 02:15, September 6, 2016 (UTC)
- But other races who have known homeworlds and specific regions of space like the Wookiees and Hutts and many others are still in the species category, and they all have been in it for a long time. It seems easier to keep them all in one place while simultaneously keeping the respective categories, and apparently others thought so too. And this wiki has to be one of the largest wikis I have ever seen. If one does not know what to specifically look for, pages like the Abednedo page would be buried if restricted to only one specific category. --Humanoid21 (talk) 02:39, September 6, 2016 (UTC)
- Alright, I understand. I just thought it was weird that it wasn't in the category like all the others, so I thought I would correct it, that's all. I apologize for any inconvenience. --Humanoid21 (talk) 02:56, September 6, 2016 (UTC)

- Hi AV. I've added images to Skako and Manaan and apologise for the fold in the Skako image, it's the best I can do with what I've got available to scan the map. Neimoidia is a strange case, since it and Balmorra are listed on the map, but their labels aren't actually associated with any small circle representing a planet, meaning they aren't technically pictured. I've added the planet's grid coordinates, since the labels still presumably indicate location, but unless you think just the image of the label is still relevant then that's all that needs doing. Jungle Rancor
Hello.
I understand I'm not a regular visitor to this Wikia any means and that it is essential to keep your wikia clean and up-to-date but my edit to the Jungle Rancor was made with constructive intent. Gamera is not a Godzilla-like monster; a kaiju, yes, but Godzilla-like implies it's more saurian, when he's not really the case. The only similarity to be found would be the fact Godzilla and Gamera are reptiles. That's like saying Marvel's Thor is Superman-like because they're both superheroes.
Forgive the nitpicking but I think it's worth establishing Gamera has his own franchise. I can't say much for the rest of the article because, like I said, I'm not a regular visitor. Not trying to cause any problems for you but I hope you understand my intention.

- The book features two bounty hunters (a human and a droid) who have IPKCs.
- Alecia Beck apprehends the man, assuming him to be Caluan Ematt; after finding his ID, she determines that he is a bounty hunter, not a rebel.
- There's also some relevant dialoge:
- "This unit carries an authorized Imperial certification to hunt bounties. You have interfered with this unit and its partners."

Stop deleting game data on Star Wars Commander in-game unit abilities. That is an abuse of administrative power that you are NOT allowed to do, and I've busted someone for this before. If you don't want in-game data written and discussed, don't have the videogame mentioned at all on your site. Kiljaedenas (talk) 07:32, January 12, 2017 (UTC)

Jungle rancor
I am currently switching over about 100 articles including jungle rancor. It just takes awhile to change all of the links. I have to change all of the Legends links before I can move the canon articles, otherwise we are going to end up with links pointing to the wrong article. Please be patient.----Exiled Jedi (talk) 05:46, January 16, 2017 (UTC)

Spoiler Policy and the /d discussion forums
In regards to what you posted in the PSA: Rogue One is over 30 days old thread... I understand your comments in it as this is how the wiki itself handles spoilers, but do we really want to do that in discussions as well? While the two aspects of Wookieepedia are connected, they are indeed different in many ways.
What do you think the pros and cons of the 60 spoiler policy is in the wiki? And does that actually translate to the /d forums? I think this is important to consider. Should we get input from administration on this? I'm curious to hear varying opinions and explanations.
For the record, I have no problem if we extend it to 60 days. But I don't think it's going to go over well. I also don't think it's necessarily a practical choice either.
We also need to consider how the real world works... Many, if not most towns won't have the movie in their cinemas for 2 months. And with the way social media and tv news handles movies now, especially big budget blockbusters with ravid fandoms like Star Wars, we were getting blasted with spoilers stories all over the place.
When you consider how fans flock to movies and how slow they are in reading novels... the practical choice for spoiler protocols on a discussion forum would be for movies to have a shorter spoiler time-frame then novels (or alternatively, making the book/novel spoiler time-frame longer then how movies are handled. --ChristopherLeeGallant (talk) 06:11, January 20, 2017 (UTC)

TCW third season spa droids
Hey AV, you own a copy of Star Wars: The Clone Wars The Complete Season Three, right? If so, could you check the extras and behind the scenes to see if there's anything at all about SN-D1, BO-N1, or the spa droids in general when you get the chance? I'd like to work on those soon and wanted to verify if there's anything about them in the Blu-ray/DVD. Thanks! Cevan (talk) 20:30, January 22, 2017 (UTC)

Re: Lift the Flap
Sure thing! Bossk is searching for a rogue Imperial astromech droid, and he tracks the droid to Jabba's Palace. Continuing the search, he talks to EV, who explains that the droid was captured, but escaped soon after.
To quote the book: "Bossk heads to the droid room, where a sadistic droid named EV-9D9 oversees the other droids with cruel efficiency. She is furious at the escape of a recently-captured astromech." EV is also pictured, saying "He'll soon learn some respect."

Editing Questions
Hey AV I was debating whether or not to ask you this in the "Ask a Mod a Question thread 2.0" but I think I'll ask you here as you're more active here from what I can tell, anyways i'm trying to learn more about the wiki (editing wise) and so far It's been a pretty cool experience learning it, I just recently learned how to create references and list them using {{reflist]](a lot easier than I originally thought). I was curious as to how to reference different sources of information (movie, tv show, etc) as I didn't really see any templates for them, but I may have been using the wrong keywords. What are the differences between projects and workbenches on the wiki. And finally, how do people make so many edits so quickly! It takes at least 15 minutes for me to find a viable area for me to make an edit I just don't understand how so many edits are made in such a short amount of time. Thanks in advance, and congratulations on becoming a moderator in the forums, I wasn't too active there when you became a moderator so I'm giving you a quick congrats now haha. --RyanCwab (talk) 00:49, February 6, 2017 (UTC)
- Small Follow up question: I'm going through the process of cleaning up Moralo Eval and I noticed youtube was used as a note/reference for some information. I've always been under the assumption that Youtube was not a viable source for the all wiki's. I went ahead and deleted the reference and the information that it supposedly provided (youtube video was taken down). Thanks in advance once again! --RyanCwab (talk) 04:00, February 6, 2017 (UTC)

Mandalorian
Do you have a source regarding blog posts? Because that blog post falls after the 2014 reset. Besides that, the information is backed up by the source material, as there are murals of Ancient Mandalorians defeating Jedi in the actual show. The is further reinforced by the comments in Star Wars: Absolutely Everything You Need to Know.
Additionally, you keep putting an erroneous link to the Gauntlet Fighter in the Encylopedia which leads to a 404 page on starwars.com.
KainrykKarr (talk) 22:37, February 19, 2017 (UTC)Kain'rykKarr
- Blog posts are written by members of the Starwars.com Web team. Additionally, the blog post not only falls AFTER the canon reset, but references only things seen, mentioned or created in The Clone Wars or the movies, and makes no reference to Legends material. Additionally, as I said the information is backed up by murals seen in the show and what is written in Star Wars: Absolutely Everything You Need to Know, which is classified as canonical in the Holocron database maintained by Leland Chee. https://twitter.com/HolocronKeeper/status/832028228885704704 —Unsigned comment by KainrykKarr (talk • contribs)
- Are articles such as the following considered viable for information? It's an interview from Dave Filoni regarding the relationship between Mandalorians armor and weaponry and Jedi which would be great for the Culture/Armor sections, but I'm not clear on how interviews are regarded.

Verpine
Hey there! I see that you brought the canon Verpine article to status recently. As a matter of fact, there's one in the comic story "Always Bet on Chop"! He's called Effor, and he works at an arena where gladiator droids fight. I'll provide you with a picture and a summary if you want. --Lelal Mekha
(Audience Room) 15:23, March 7, 2017 (UTC)
- I'll send a summary later. For now, here's a picture you can use. (Sorry about the wonky colors, but it's the best I could do...) Effor's not identified as a Verpine in the text, but it's unmistakable. --Lelal Mekha
(Audience Room) 15:30, March 7, 2017 (UTC)
- Ok, so there's not much to say about this Effor, really. In the fourth year before the Battle of Yavin, a Verpine named Effor worked at an arena where gladiator droids thought. He or she was tasked with preparing the gladiators and leading them into the arena. One such droids he briefly cared for was Chopper (who found himself in the wrong place at the wrong time while on a mission to steal Imperial bank codes with Zeb). Effor told Chopper he hoped he said goodbye to its master (= Zeb), because it would probably be the last time he saw him—for, you see, The Unwinder has already terminated all the other galdiator droids. And that's it. --Lelal Mekha

can you help me ?
I am trying to add 'objective' sources for darth maul page,
http://starwars.wikia.com/wiki/Darth_Maul
I've seen that obi-wan's quote saying that maul is nothing in the first premeire quote in the darth maul wikia page, which is hilarious when you consider that the only character is getting discredit in his first quote is darth maul in this wikia...
and then he did undo all the powers and abilities section without editing and providing any reasons , this guy is obviously hate maul and trying to make fun of him ; http://starwars.wikia.com/wiki/Special:Contributions/AnilSerifoglu
I am just trying to add proper sources and informations to make this better.
now what anil did ;
-adding obi-wan quote in the first quote section of the darth maul
I mean would you like to see Maul saying 'a rat in the desert' for obi-wan in the first quote of the page ? it would be stupid and hilarious...
-deleting powers and abilities section and adding the only negative informations on maul page
this is not helping to the page at all...
I mean this anil guy is obviously hates maul and he gave no proper reasons or edits to make this right.
--Marco1001 (talk) 06:32, April 7, 2017 (UTC)
- I have clearly told you my reasons to revert your edit, if you want the change the quote which was seemed a better one by several users including myself, you should start a discussion in the talk page. And your "powers and abilities" edit includes unsourced lightsaber forms info. You have to give a source for the names of the stances you spoke of (besides a "Twin Suns"). I won't continue to bother your edit not to start an edit war and let other decide. As you are someone who is new to Wookieepedia, I would be happy to help you if you encounter any problems or have any questions. I also ask you not to insult me on my talk page again (and you even wrote it in Turkish so non-Turkish users cannot understand).

Lotho Minor and copyvios
While reviewing your Lotho Minor GAN, it came to my attention that parts of the article are almost a verbatim copy of sentences from
Lotho Minor in the Databank (backup link) and
Fire-breather in the Databank (backup link). Changing the tense is not enough to differentiate from the source. As I'm sure you know, copyvios are unacceptable on Wookieepedia. Seeing as this isn't the first time I catch verbatim text in one of your nominations, I feel like a reminder is in order. Consider this a formal administrative warning. Thank you. 1358 (Talk) 20:55, August 24, 2017 (UTC)
Re:Standard Galactic Grid
Hey AV! I'm not sure what exactly do you mean by standardizing its use. Right now, the LG stipulates that "all infobox material must be detailed in the article proper" with the exception of publishing eras, previous/concurrent/following events, and coordinates from TEA/EAOC. The way I see it, this covers the canon coordinates. Imperators II(Talk) 07:05, August 27, 2017 (UTC)
- Sorry, but once again I fail to understand what is it exactly you wish to see added to the Layout Guide. This is what the Guide currently has to say. Regarding Legends grid coordinates, they should be added to the infobox but "must [not necessarily] be detailed in the article proper". Regarding canon grid coordinates, they, like "all infobox material", "must be detailed in the article proper". What's missing? Imperators II(Talk) 20:04, August 27, 2017 (UTC)
- Oh, and by the way, since I assume you have access to Rebel Dossier, I believe it would be very awesome if you could update/expand the Standard Galactic Grid article itself so that it's unambiguous that the grid is canon (the Beginner Game stuff currently in the article is misleading).
