- "I hope you have said goodbye to your master. That was the last time you saw him. All but one of the gladiator droids will be destroyed. I wish you luck… but that won't help you."
- ―Effor, to C1-10P
Effor was a Verpine who worked at a gladiatorial arena during the Imperial Era.[1]
Between 5 BBY and 1 BBY,[2] Effor was present as the Lasat rebel Garazeb Orrelios and[1] his[3] droid companion C1-10P "Chopper" infiltrated the arena complex to steal some important Imperial data. The Tarsunt fight prompter Blik had mistaken Chopper for a gladiator droid and Orrelios—for his owner. In a corridor, Blik insisted on walking Garazeb to the registration desk whereas Effor was supposed to prepare Chopper and take him to the area. While seeing the droid off, Effor told him it was the last he had seen of his "master" before wishing him luck, only to clarify that luck would not come in handy as he fought "The Unwinder," a droideka champion in the arena. Ultimately, Chopper avoided being beaten by his rival and made his escape from the arena alongside Orrelios.[1]
A green-skinned Verpine with black eyes, Effor wore a black vest over a gray, sleeveless shirt, in addition to a pair of gray pants held up by a brown belt.[1]
Behind the scenes
Blik first appeared in "Always Bet on Chop," a comic strip written by Jeremy Barlow and illustrated by Bob Molesworth,[1] which was published on September 28, 2016[4] in the 23rd issue of the German Star Wars Rebels Magazine.[1]

"Always Bet on Chop" — Star Wars Rebels Magazine 23
- ↑ "Always Bet on Chop" takes place during the events of Star Wars Rebels and includes Rex, placing it after the events of "The Lost Commanders." Star Wars: Timelines dates the events of "The Lost Commanders" to 4 BBY and the ending of Star Wars Rebels to 1 BBY, placing "Always Bet on Chop" between these years. Therefore, "Always Ben on Chop" must be taking place between 4 BBY and 1 BBY. Since the arena incident is narrated in flashbacks, it might have taken place as early as 5 BBY, given that, as per Star Wars Timelines, the Spectre cell—which both Orrelios and Chopper are members of—was established in that year.
