Wookiees-Transparent

Wookieepedia aspires to be a reliable source for all Star Wars fans to read and draw information from, and as such, fan-created continuity and fan fiction are not allowed within our articles. All in-universe material must be attributable to a reliable, published source.

Do not remove talk page and forum comments, including your own, as they are part of the public record. Remember that you should always sign your comments on talk and vote pages using four tildes, like this: ~~~~.

For an optimal viewing experience, Wookieepedia recommends using the Monobook skin. For help changing your skin preference, see Help:Skin.

I hope you enjoy editing here and being a Wookieepedian! If you have any questions, see the help pages, add a question to the Senate Hall, visit our official IRC channel, or ask me on my talk page. May the Force be with you! —Brules Brules signature Chat 06:37, January 12, 2017 (UTC)

RE: 2.3 Expansion/rewrite

I undid your edit because that kind of information doesn't make much sense from an "in-universe" perspective, usually that kind of info is added to a Behind the Scenes section. Brules Brules signature Chat 06:37, January 12, 2017 (UTC)

  • We're not really a "video game" wiki; we're a Star Wars wiki. There are dedicated Star Wars game wikis for that kind of stuff. - 07:19, January 12, 2017 (UTC)
    • Wookieepedia is interested in collecting "in-universe" lore, which is why game mechanics have nothing to do in the body of an article. Your input may be more valued at the Star Wars Commander Wiki. --Lelal Mekha Old Republic military symbol (Audience Room) 08:15, January 12, 2017 (UTC)

Fine then. I'm obviously wasting my time here. This is supposed to be a good collection hub of info from all star wars sources such as books and games; the "good" aspect obviously leaves much to be desired when it is outside of story canon. You're only hurting yourselves doing this. Kiljaedenas (talk) 08:28, January 12, 2017 (UTC)

  • My friend, surely you can't just land here and expect a wikia with well-established, long standing and detailed rules and guidelines to change their tenets just because you think they're "wrong"? --Lelal Mekha Old Republic military symbol (Audience Room) 08:39, January 12, 2017 (UTC)

I consider you "wrong" given my experience with other wikis related to games. YOU GUYS ARE NOT EVEN REMOTELY CLOSE TO THE NORM, nor is what you're doing acceptable anywhere I've seen. I've done thousands of game strategy related articles across dozens of game wikias. None of them put up even a fraction of the resistance as you guys. If you don't want game strategy discussed on your wikia, TAKE THE UNIT REFERENCE LIST OFF THE SITE. You don't want game data put on your wikia yet your main Star Wars Commander front page has a bloody unit list like it's setting up for game data. You seriously need to rethink your policies. Kiljaedenas (talk) 08:47, January 12, 2017 (UTC)

  • Let's calm down, shall we? "I've done thousands of game strategy related articles across dozens of game wikias." That's the point: we're not a video game wikia; we're a Star Wars lore wikia. In other words, we're interested in chronicling whatever in-universe (or "intradiegetic") information appears in a source, be it a novel, a comic, a TV show... or a game. And that's it. I'l rephrase it again: in the case of Commander, we're interested in what the game says about their in-universe usage. We're not a video game wikia, and we've never have been that. --Lelal Mekha Old Republic military symbol (Audience Room) 08:55, January 12, 2017 (UTC)

Then change your name. "Wookiepedia, the Star Wars Wiki", obviously isn't accurate. It should be the Star Wars Lore Wiki. And on your front page that I get to clicking on that icon at the top left, your first main line is "Wookiepedia, the Star Wars encyclopedia that anyone can edit". Obviously wrong, it should be the Star Wars Lore encyclopedia that anyone can edit. Name yourselves what you actually are so no one else gets unfairly slammed like this. That distinction should be blatantly obvious the moment someone enters the wiki for the first time, not buried in hidden rule pages which very few people ever go to (and often can't find) at the start. Kiljaedenas (talk) 09:01, January 12, 2017 (UTC)

  • Yes, indeed. When you join a community, you definitely should disregard its rules and tenets (which were "hidden," at the top of your talk page), complain for being "unfairly slammed" (while you are being aggressive), criticize a time-honored modus operandi, and feel outageously entitled. That's sound behavioral advice! Now, I think I've tried hard enough to be pedagogical and explain things. If you have more ranting and feelings of persecution left in you, I'll let someone else handle it. --Lelal Mekha Old Republic military symbol (Audience Room) 09:10, January 12, 2017 (UTC)

Don't bother trying to explain your way out of your non-obvious restrictions. I want no part in a primitive lore-only wiki for something that has far more than lore, and don't bother responding since I've un-followed this profile page so I won't see notifications on responses. And since I'm never coming back here, screw you and all your narrow minded restrictions.
