- "I checked some data as we were landing, and it seems the closest moon, a small, uninhabited one called Praknat 3, took a direct hit from the main hull of the ship, and the impact misaligned the gravitational balance of the whole system."
- ―Kantam Sy, to Zeen Mrala and Lula Talisola
Praknat 3 was the closest moon of the Outer Rim Territories and Western Reaches planet Trymant IV. Situated in the Trymant system, it was small and uninhabited. During the Emergences of the Great Hyperspace Disaster in 232 BBY, Praknat 3 was struck by a fragment of the hull of the freighter Legacy Run, disrupting the entire star system and causing an environmental catastrophe on Trymant IV as the planet was shifted closer to its second sun, undergoing rapid desertification.
Description
Praknat 3 was the closest in orbit of the multiple moons of the planet Trymant IV,[3] which also included Korbatal, Ost Molkar, Taz Molkar, and Trymant III.[4] Trymant IV itself revolved around the Trymant system's binary star. Small and uninhabited, Praknat 3 was, like the rest of the star system,[3] situated in the Subterrel sector within Outer Rim Territories[1] and Western Reaches regions of the galaxy[2] in square L-20 of the Standard Galactic Grid.[1]
History
The Trymant system Emergence, which affected Praknat 3
During an Emergence of the Great Hyperspace Disaster in the Trymant system[3] in 232 BBY,[5] a fragment of the freighter Legacy Run's main hull struck Praknat 3, misaligning the gravitational balance of the entire star system[3] and destroying its moons.[4] Trymant IV was tilted closer to the system's second sun as a result of the collision to Praknat 3, causing an environmental catastrophe as all of the planet's aboveground water sources were vaporized, transforming it into a desert. Records of the Trymant IV disaster were stored by the Jedi Order following the event.[3]
In 231 BBY,[6] former Trymant IV resident Zeen Mrala was shocked by the devastation when she returned to the world months after the disaster with Jedi Master Kantam Sy and Jedi Padawan Lula Talisola. Sy learned about the impact on Praknat 3 and its effects after checking data onboard their cruiser, the Star Hopper, filling Mrala and Talisola in on what had occurred.[3]
Behind the scenes
Praknat 3 was mentioned in the 2021 junior novel The High Republic: Race to Crashpoint Tower, written by Daniel José Older as part of the Star Wars: The High Republic multimedia project's[3] Phase I.[7] The 2023 reference book Star Wars: The High Republic: Chronicles of the Jedi by Cole Horton includes an in-universe map depicting Trymant IV—and therefore Praknat 3—within the original borders of the Occlusion Zone, which also situated it in the Galactic Frontier.[8] However, the 2025 reference book Star Wars: The Acolyte: The Visual Guide, written by Pablo Hidalgo with map contributions by Jason Fry and Christopher Ibbitt, situates the Trymant IV outside of the Occlusion Zone. This article assumes that the latter and more recent source is correct.[9]

STET mentions the destruction of several Trymant system moons. Other than Korbatal, is 'several moons' meant to refer the ones in the THRA prequel comic/are they all Trymant's moons, or planetoids instead?") defines the Trymant system celestial objects mentioned in "Tales of Villainy: The Gaze Electric" as Trymant IV's moons, which "STET!" specified were destroyed in the Trymant IV disaster dated to 232 BBY by Star Wars: Timelines.
