- "Luckily there ain't actually any gurreck in this savory sauce, so you don't gotta be a skilled hunter to whip it up."
- ―Strono Tuggs
Gurreck Gravy was a type of savory condiment created by the Ewoks of the moon Endor. Members of the species would make the green sauce from fresh Endorian herbs to be served at the feasts held after a successful hunt of the creatures known as gurrecks, although the sauce itself contained no gurreck meat. The Artiodac chef Strono Tuggs learned a recipe for making Gurreck Gravy and included it in his cook book The Official Black Spire Outpost Cookbook[1] in 34 ABY.[2] In the book he included the gravy as an ingredient in the dish Fried Endorian Tip-Yip, and suggested readers smother the dish in the warm sauce.[1]
Behind the scenes
Gurreck Gravy was one of the recipes included in the 2019 Star Wars cookbook, Star Wars: Galaxy's Edge: The Official Black Spire Outpost Cookbook, which was written by Chelsea Monroe-Cassel and Marc Sumerak with photography by Ted Thomas.[1] A gravy used in Fried Endorian Tip-Yip was first mentioned in a D23 post.[3] The out-of-universe recipe uses fresh parsley leaves, fresh green herbs, a pinch of salt, apple cider vinegar, olive oil, and chicken stock.[1]
