Dark Droids 5 is the fifth and final issue of the 2023 comic limited series Star Wars: Dark Droids. The issue was written by Charles Soule, illustrated by Luke Ross and Alex Sinclair, and published by Marvel Comics on December 27, 2023.

"SCOURGE OF THE DROIDS" 
To stop the Sith in control of the
Empire, Lady Qi'ra gambled on an
ancient device to disrupt their
connection to the Force. She failed,
and out of the ruins of her plans
emerged an evil entity.

It is a scourge to droids in both the
Rebellion and Empire and continues
to spread its consciousness into any
artificial mind it can enter.

As the Scourge's experiments
continue, it spreads beyond droids
and into hybroids. First, it came for
the metal. Now, it's coming for
everything else….

Continuity

The issue shows Magna Tolvan under the control of the Scourge at the same time as the skirmish aboard the Acquisitor. As established by Doctor Aphra (2020) 39, Tolvan had already been rescued from Epikonia by the time of that skirmish.[3] Later, the issue shows the rescue of Magna Tolvan towards the very end of the scourge of the droids, shortly before the Scourge is destroyed. However, Doctor Aphra (2020) 38 depicts the rescue[4] and is followed by Doctor Aphra 39, by which point the Scourge has not been destroyed.[3] However, the issue contains a possible solution: when D-Squad attacks the Scourge One, the Scourge admits it can become confused if it is seeing memories and present events. As such, these events could be shown to the reader out of order in Dark Droids 5.

Dark Droids 5 also shows Doctor Chelli Lona Aphra under the control of the Scourge in the final moments of the Scourge crisis.[5] However, as established by Doctor Aphra (2020) 40, there was no possible time for Aphra to fall victim to the Scourge herself before the crisis' conclusion.[6]
