The year 3643 before the Battle of Yavin (BBY) was a period of time during the Cold War between the Galactic Republic and the Sith Empire. Better known during that time as year 10 after the Treaty of Coruscant (ATC), the events of the year featured renewed conflict between agents of the two superpowers and heightened tensions throughout the galaxy. Various events, such as the Desolator crisis, the defection of the Republic's Havoc Squad, an attack on the Republic cruiser Esseles, and many other conflicts throughout the galaxy continued to add to the political anxieties and concern of the last decade.

- Jet Nebula discovers the Cinzia, initiating the Sebaddon affair and Hex droid crisis. (Approximate date)[8]
- The native Flesh Raiders of Tython, under the influence of the Dark Jedi Bengel Morr, begin attacking the Jedi Order and the Pilgrims in greater numbers and frequency.
- The new apprentice of Jedi Master Orgus Din successfully defeats Morr with the help of the astromech droid T7-O1 and end the threat of his Flesh Raider army.[9]
- Din's apprentice, now a Jedi Knight, is sent with T7 to Coruscant to investigate a dark presence the Jedi High Council senses there.[9] There, the duo team up with Padawan Kira Carsen and Agent Galen of the Republic Strategic Information Service to recover the plans for the Planet Prison superweapon[1] and rescue Doctor Eli Tarnis, the project's lead scientist, from the Black Sun criminal syndicate.[10]

- The Imperial warship Emperor's Glory, under the command of Grand Moff Rycus Kilran, attacks the Republic cruiser Esseles with Mandalorian aid in an attempt to capture Ambassador Vyn Asara. However, a team of Jedi and Republic operatives successfully push back the attack and disable the Glory's tractor beam, allowing the Esseles to escape.[13]
- Angral attacks the planet Uphrades with the completed Desolator weapon, devastating the agriworld's surface as a test of the superweapon's capabilities.[14]
