The Aurora was a heavily modified Valor-class cruiser that was in the service of the Republic Navy during the Great Galactic War and Cold War respectively.
History
The Aurora was originally assigned to patrol the Rimma Trade Route. In one engagement, the defeated twenty eight corvettes and frigates of the Hook Talon pirates, wiping them out.[2]
At the end of the Great Galactic War, the ship was given under the command of Jedi Master Kellian Jarro and Captain Ofaree while serving as a deep space commando training center where elite Special forces units practiced boarding action scenarios.[2]
That would come to an end during the Cold War, when bounty hunter Tarro Blood was captured on board and admitted to an Imperial assassination attempt on the Jedi Master. Shortly after, the Grand Champion of the Great Hunt's D5-Mantis Patrol Craft arrived to kill the Jedi Master and Tarro Blood.[1] After dealing with Blood and Jarro, the hunter set the ships hyperdrive to activate on a timer. Having destroyed the Aurora's hyperdrive regulator beforehand, the ship was ripped apart following its jump to hyperspace.[1]

The Aurora is described as being a heavily-modified Valor-class cruiser in the Codex of the video game Star Wars: The Old Republic,[2] but appears in-game as a Thranta-class corvette.[1] According to Charles Boyd, the ship was most likely intended to be a Valor-class and the wrong model was used.[5]

STAR WARS: The Old Republic - Question ! :) - Page 3 on The Old Republic's official website (backup link) places Star Wars: The Old Republic about ten to twelve years after the signing of the Treaty of Coruscant, which is dated to 3653 BBY by Star Wars: The Old Republic Encyclopedia. The Old Republic — The Lost Suns 2 takes place ten years after the treaty, one week after the mission to Nar Shaddaa, and around the time of the SpecForce Incident. Since the mission and the incident are respectively part of Act I of the Jedi Knight and Republic Trooper's storylines, and the Trooper's Act I occurs concurrent to Act I of the Smuggler storyline, the general events of the Prologue and Act I for all classes can be assumed to occur in 3643 BBY.
