The High Republic Adventures 12 is the twelfth issue of the canon comic book series Star Wars: The High Republic Adventures. The issue was written by Daniel José Older and illustrated by Harvey Tolibao, Pow Rodrix, and Rebecca Nalty, and published by IDW Publishing on January 12, 2022.

Plot summary
In the past, a young Lula Talisola speaks to Jedi Masters Kantam Sy and Yoda. Sy tells her that the lesson she teaches is one of the hardest to learn; when Talisola asks if they mean front flips with a lightsaber, they joke that it may be the second hardest. They clarify that they mean detachment, and that as Jedi they must learn to love and let go at the same time.
In the present, Talisola thinks that she never understood their point, and notes that she has gotten good at pretending everything is okay but it isn't. She, along with the other Jedi of Starlight Beacon, watch a hologram from the planet Corellia wherein an unidentified figure calls out to Crash. Sy announces that they, along with Padawan Ram Jomaram, will go to Corellia to investigate the possible Nihil, while Talisola will lead the task force in search of Krix Kamerat alongside Torban Buck. Talisola is honored, but can only think about her best friend Zeen Mrala.
Mrala thinks that she should be happy for Talisola, as this indicates she will likely become a Jedi Knight soon, but worries that she is a distraction in Talisola's life. She volunteers to go to Corellia as well, though she immediately regrets the offer.
Elsewhere, Padawan Bibs is investigating a distress call near the planet Dol'har Hyde. They are bored by the lack of any activity, but are suddenly startled by the arrival of a Nihil starship flown by Sabata Krill.
As Sy prepares to leave for Corellia, they ask Talisola what is troubling her. She references their conversation about detachment when she was a child, but they are interrupted by an announcement that Bibs has found Kamerat's hideout. Sy tells Mrala, who is hesitant, to go with the task force but not be consumed by her anger. Talisola promises she will tell Sy about her worries when they return, and they remind her they are proud of her.
The task force travels to Dol'har Hyde and Kamerat's hideout. Kamerat tells one of the other Nihil to bring Krill to him, and learns that she has left.
During the fight, Farzala Tarabal and Qort are shot down. Shortly afterward, Kamerat recognizes Mrala, and attacks her; Mrala attempts to crash her falling Jedi Vector into Kamerat. Talisola, concerned, follows her, and they reunite with Tarabal and Qort before they pursue Kamerat.
Kamerat flees to a saferoom inside the encampment, where he finds a message from Krill. She explains that she has left large quantities of rhydonium fuel, which will become extremely volatile when aerosolized, and offers him the choice to die like a coward or to die like a true Nihil by taking his pursuers with him.
Talisola prepares to enter the saferoom through one door with Tarabal while Mrala and Qort come through the other; however, both Mrala and Talisola struggle to connect with and predict each other through the Force as they normally do. Despite their doubts, they manage to do so, and enter the saferoom simultaneously. Talisola identifies the smell of rhydonium and warns Mrala. As she subdues Kamerat, Talisola contemplates attachment and love, as does Mrala, and as they capture Kamerat they both realize what is necessary is balance.
