The High Republic: Trail of Shadows 5 is the fifth and final issue of the comic book miniseries Star Wars: The High Republic: Trail of Shadows. The issue was written by Daniel José Older, illustrated by David Wachter and Giada Marchisio, and published by Marvel Comics on February 9, 2022.

Opening crawl

THE HIGH REPUBLIC
TRAIL OF SHADOWS
Chapter V: DUST

Jedi Master Emerick Caphtor, following leads for the murder of a Jedi, has fallen under the
effects of the nameless creature that causes unimaginable pain to the Order.

While Emerick is down, Dr. Uttersond's partner in crime, Arathab Fel tried to strike down
a Chadra-Fan named Beesar who was protecting Emerick; Sian Holt stepped in wielding
Emerick's saber to save both Emerick and Beesar from Arathab.

It seems that everything has come crashing down around Emerick and Sian.
Everything including the Starlight Beacon….
