LM-432 crab droids were both named after and resembled crabs species.

Crabs were creatures^[1] after which the LM-432 crab droid^[2] and the Mon Cala crab containment device were named.^[3] Known species of crabs included the krillcrab,^[4] the Ravine crab,^[5] and the caw-crab.^[1] Reklam Station's DTS-series Dismantler Droid had legs similar to a crab's.^[6]
