Kidnapped!

"Kidnapped!" is a comic featuring BB-8 and Poe Dameron. The story was published as the lead story of Star Wars Adventures (2017) 24 on August 21, 2019.

Plot summary

In the Mirrin sector, the New Republic Defense Fleet squadron, Rapier Squadron battles a group of pirates. Rapier Leader, Poe Dameron, takes out many pirate starfighters using skilled maneuvers. He is eventually struck with an ion pulse, disabling both his T-85 X-wing and his droid, BB-8. The pirates capture him in a tractor beam and reel him into the pirate frigate. The frigate then blasts off into hyperspace.

The pirates drag Dameron out of his X-wing and toss out the inactive BB-8. As Dameron is pulled out of the ship's hangar for questioning, BB-8 sends him a signal with his welding torch that he has a plan to break Dameron out. Once the pirates leave, BB-8 gets up and rolls out of the hangar.

Meanwhile, a pirate leader begins his interrogation of the New Republic pilot. The pirate wishes to know how Dameron and the New Republic knew where to find them. In order to stall, Dameron instead starts detailing his entire life story, starting with his childhood on Yavin 4. Nearby, BB-8 sneaks by various pirates and gains access a control panel, which he uses to send the coordinates of their location to the other members of Rapier Squadron.

Back in the battlefield, Iolo Arana and the rest of Rapier Squadron continue their fruitless search for Dameron. Their confidence returns when they receive coordinates to from BB-8. The squadron forms up and blast off to Dameron's location.

Back on the pirate frigate, Dameron continues with his story until the pirate leader cuts him off. In annoyance, the pirate orders that Dameron's ship be scrapped and he be ejected into space. Just then, alarms blare throughout the frigate, and Dameron immediately realizes that the squadron has arrived. In the resulting chaos, Dameron steals the blaster pistols of one of the pirates and holds the group hostage.

Once the other members of Rapier Squadron board, they are surprised to see that Dameron has already bound the pirate crew. Dameron thanks his fellow pilots for their assistance in his rescue. He then kneels down to BB-8 and thanked him for coming up with the plan to save him.
