Plot summary
High above Milvayne, the rogue broadcast of Dr. Chelli Lona Aphra and Triple-Zero's exploits captivates billions, causing civil unrest and forcing the hand of a watching Imperial fleet. On the planet's surface, the duo is captured by the undead bounty hunter Tam Posla, who sentences them to immediate execution. Thinking fast, Aphra uses legal loopholes to expose Posla as a disgraced vigilante, turning the Milvayne Authority police officers against him. In the ensuing chaos, Aphra and Triple-Zero escape, and in a rare moment of trust born from desperation, she convinces the droid to let her repair his damaged legs.
Their freedom is short-lived as the chase resumes across the city, with monster hunters and traps involving a hostile BT-1 impeding their progress. The fugitives' growing popularity among the populace prompts the Imperial leader to break their non-intervention pact with Milvayne. Deciding to end the situation decisively, the flagship fires a massive railgun blast into the city. The catastrophic explosion obliterates the area, crippling Aphra and Triple-Zero's vehicle and sending them plummeting from the sky.
