―Lona Aphra, to her daughter[1]

Void was a slang term used to express frustration.

Description

The term could be used on its own,[2] or in phrases such as "oh void"[3] or "for void's sake."[1]

"What in void's name…" was used to emphasize anger, e.g. "What in void's name were you thinking?"[4]

"Who in the heavenly void…" was used to emphasize shock or surprise, i.e. "Who in the heavenly void is that?!"[5]

"Void help me" was used to stress the seriousness of a situation,[6] while the exclamation "void below" was used to express shock.[7]

"Void-forsaken" referred to something that lacked all appeal and offered nothing of interest or enjoyment, i.e. "void-forsaken Child of the Storm,"[8] while "void-blasted" was used about something that causes frustration, i.e. "stop that void-blasted hammerhead."[9]
